Hey, it's Emma. Emma from mmmEnglish. I know it has been two and a half years since I last uploaded a video here. I'm not sure that I planned on it being so long, but time really does fly, doesn't it? Today, I just wanted to drop by and quickly let you know that I'M BACK! But how have YOU been? What's been happening? Leave me a comment to let me know what's changed for you in the past two years. Have you got a new job? Maybe you've moved to a new country. Maybe you've had a new baby or got a new dog or made some exciting new plans. If you've got something to share,
fill me in down in the comments. I'm looking forward to catching up down there. Before I say anything else, I also need to properly say hello to some of you because there are quite a few new subscribers, new friends who have joined us here at mmmEnglish over the last couple of years. Friends who I haven't released a new video for yet. So, if you are one of those people, a very big warm welcome to you. It is so lovely to meet you here. In fact, drop me a comment and let me know where you're watching from right now. Where in the world are
you? And if we are old friends, if you and I, if we go way back, if you've been watching mmmEnglish for years and years, it is so good to be back. So good to see you again. But let me back up a little bit though, because some of you might be wondering, Emma, where did you even go? To fill you in very quickly. If we go back to the very end of 2003, I told you that I was going to step away from M English. I was really burnt out at the time. I was running two businesses, mmmEnglish and Hey Lady, an English speaking community, two teams, two visions, building a
technology platform, and I was stretched thin across all of the things. And somewhere there I got lost. So at that time I made a really hard call, a hard decision. I stepped away from what I was doing here at mmmEnglish so that I could pour everything that I had left into Hey Lady. Maybe you've been in a situation like that before where you've had to just hit the reset button and step back from something that you loved, but then restart it again. Two and a half years is a long time away. And so much has changed in the world. But in that time that I did spend away,
I built an incredible team at Hey Lady! A team of English coaches, community managers, our software developers have built our amazing platform. It is stunning. It's designed completely to help women learning English to connect and to speak and to find speaking partners regularly, to speak often in lots of different contexts. During those two years at Hey Lady, it has grown into this incredible, unique space for English speaking practice. It's a real community. Now, I will put a link so that you can go and check out Hey Lady! if you're interested. We can talk about that story
another day because, right now, I want to talk about US! I want to talk about mmmEnglish and what happens now! Because I know that the number one thing that you have been asking me for over and over again in the comments - the whole time that I've been away - is more speaking practice, more imitation practice! So that is exactly what we're doing, starting right now! Every week I will be right here with a brand new lesson. A lesson built around speaking practice. A lesson to help you speak more clearly and more confidently in English. So if this sounds good to you, if you
are excited to be practising with me again here at mmmEnglish, I want you to do a couple of things. Make sure that you are subscribed and I want you to check that your notifications are on. This is really important because this is how you'll get notified if there is a new speaking practice waiting for you. So, you need to click that little bell and you'll get a reminder each time we release a speaking practice to come back to English to watch it. One of the reasons why I'm so excited to be back here and creating content for you is because I really want to
help you find consistent and regular speaking practice. I want to help you to bring that regular consistent practice into your daily or your weekly routine. And that is what I'm here to do. So, you tell me what videos - what speaking practice - would you really like to see here at mmmEnglish? Give me your special requests and I'll see what I can do. I will see you right here next week, same time, same place. And in the meantime, here are two lessons that I wish more of you had seen. The algorithm didn't treat them very fairly, I feel. But these two lessons are fantastic ones to
practise with. If you haven't seen them yet, go and check them out. And I'll see you next week.
