Live Shopping Explained as the Biggest Untapped Opportunity for Everyday Sellers

Live shopping combines live video with e-commerce, similar to QVC on social media. The video argues that anyone earning under $20 an hour can profit by buying wholesale and selling live on apps like TikTok Shop and Whatnot, potentially making a million dollars in profit within 24 months. It defines live shopping and highlights its massive untapped opportunity.

Live Shopping Is the Biggest Opportunity You’re Ignoring. | Transcript:

Every human that makes under $20 an hour, that's watching right now, needs to hear me. Buy anything at wholesale that has a higher retail value and go on TikTok Shop and whatnot, the app, and sell it on live shopping. Go hard, and every single person here can make a million dollars in profit a year in 24 months. Can you define it? A lot of people might not even know what live shopping looks like. Live shopping, everyone, is QVC on social media. Just to give you context, let me make it very real. I did a 3-hour conference room sale for VFriends selling hoodies and T-shirts and socks. I made almost $200,000 in revenue

in 3 hours. Every entrepreneur that has sales DNA should contemplate going live on TikTok, whatnot, eBay live, Fanatics and start selling live something. All of you should go live on TikTok Shop. It's the biggest opportunity. In fact, TikTok's crazy. They have affiliates. You could sell stuff that you don't even have by making good content and being an affiliate. So, what are you saying to a legacy company, a company that's 30 years old? Should be their approach to this? Is this just yet another channel that they are currently missing out on, or is this a wholesale change to how they sell?

No, it's an and. Everything's an and. We're so obsessed with the or. Right? Like, I don't understand why people want things dead. Like, you can do direct mail. There's a better way to do it on Facebook blue, but it's not like it's dead. You're just paying more for it. You can decide to still do television commercials besides the Super Bowl in 2026. It's crazy, but it's not. It's not dead.

It's just incredibly overpriced the way the big companies do it here. Creative agency or fees, paying millions of dollars for ideas, crazy production costs, wildly crazy for this world, much cheaper everywhere else. The agencies have extracted way too much money out of brands, and the media itself, you're paying for potential reach. GRPs are fake, potential reach, not actual audience reach. You can, but it's not dead. Live shopping isn't going to stop someone to go pump their gas and go inside and pay for their gas and pick up some candy, or go to Costco, or go to Albertsons or Walmart. It's not going to take it to zero. It's slowly but surely going to dent it. However,

here's where people have to get smarter. It's also a production day for your marketing. So, now you're selling live for a couple of hours, but there's one clip and one moment where the host does something and that 40-second video played in social can be an extraordinary outcome. In China, they're going to sell over a trillion Let me say this nice and slow. One trillion dollars worth of GMV, gross merchandise value, will be sold in China. One trillion dollars worth of stuff will be sold in China this year through live shopping behavior. I don't think that's a China-only behavior because last year tens of billions of dollars of product were sold on TikTok Shop and whatnot. I think we're in the beginning stages of this.

And for many people in this audience, I'm sure all of you are thinking about different ways to grow your current business. I'm sure plenty of people are looking for other opportunities. To me, this has a lot of similarities to what I saw in social media in 2007, '8, '9. The world had not caught up to it, but there were still millions of people already doing it, and I anticipated that number to go up because to me, the mobile device was not going anywhere, and what was dominating the mobile device, these social networks, seem to make sense because I think people want to interact with each other. This was already 10 years after the internet was doing its thing.

Similar here. A lot of people here have bought something off of TikTok Shop when they had no intention to. You're just living inside of TikTok and then it showed up. So, I'm very bullish live shopping and I think a lot of people here who are trying to become personal brands and content creators actually have the natural talent to be live shopping hosts and would be better off, happier, and more financially successful being an affiliate and live shopping person versus a lifestyle content creator or you know, a vlogger or a streamer. And so, I think for all of us in this room, it's about reverse engineering what you're good at and what you like enough that you'll put in the time and effort because it requires so much hard

work to actually make something meaningful. So, yeah, I'm very, very excited about live shopping.
