I Didn't Expect to Love It So Much - CampingMoon Fire Pit Review. | Transcript:

Friends, welcome to this issue of the " Touring Equipment Review". I hope you are all right. A few weeks ago, I came across a product on Amazon that instantly caught my attention. Essentially, this is an updated version of a product that I simply adore. There is a fire in this canvas cover. Not just a fire pit, but a fire pit with a stainless steel mesh. I have used different types of mesh fire pits over the years and I love them. The problem with typical mesh fires is that the process of assembling and disassembling them is complicated and awkward. This is a product from Camping Moon, their mesh

fire pit and stove. That's right, friends. It's more than just a fire. This is also a stove. The mesh fires I had used before had completely different shapes than this one. This focus actually preserves the full shape of the grid itself. Whereas other systems had to be folded up and then stuffed into a small bag for storage. This is a significant improvement in every way. So, this is the storage case that comes with this stove. It closes with Velcro on top. And inside there are several compartments separating the components. Let's quickly take a look at the package. We have a storage case. We have a steel mesh.

Instructions are also included. Here we have the frame components as well as the grill grate. Assembling this system is extremely simple. These two frame pieces have pins sticking up. Here's what you should do. You take the net and string it onto these pins on one side. You do the same thing on the other side. Easy and simple. And after that, you take these parts and install them on the same pins. This locks the whole structure together, like this. Once you have assembled all the components of the stove, you can move it, but you have to do it correctly.

is to place your thumbs on top and press down on these cross supports. At the same time, pulling up from below with your other fingers. So, you create tension for this fire. This will hold the entire structure together. And then, having done this, you can easily carry it from place to place. As you can see, these transverse supports are here for a reason. They not only fasten the structure, but also turn this hearth into a stove system. Now that you have a grate on top, you can put wood or charcoal on it and cook your food. Before we go any further, let's take a second and look at the features of this fire pit. The first thing you need to know is this. Camping Moon offers plenty of fire pits. Seriously, there must be at least, I mean at least, 10

different versions. However, only two of them have wire mesh. There is a large size that you see here, and there is also a small size. The design and materials of these plates are identical, except for the overall size, weight, and price. . In any case, these fire pits are made of 304 stainless steel and come with a polyester fabric cover. The wire mesh is made of stainless steel. When folded, the large version measures 17 by 11.8 inches and is about an inch thick. The smaller version is 12.8 inches long, 10.6 inches wide, and about the same thickness. When unfolded, the large version measures 16.5 by 16.5 inches and is 12.6 inches tall. The small version measures 12.4 by 12.4 inches and is 11.2 inches tall.

The load capacity of both is the same-22 pounds. The large version weighs 3.4 pounds. The small version weighs 2.1. And finally, regarding the price: the large size costs $40, and the small one costs $33. It is worth noting that the installation time is We're talking 1 minute or less, both for assembly and disassembly. Regarding the pros and cons of this system, the first plus is performance. This is where such a stove or hearth system really shows itself at its best. This design is designed for maximum efficiency, right? Because your wood and fire get a lot of oxygen. In fact, all the oxygen they can consume. Once you light a fire, it will burn instantly.

This will allow the wood to burn at the highest intensity and maximum temperature. And that's because nothing limits the amount of oxygen that a fire gets. The efficiency of this device is significantly higher than that of conventional hearths with walls. Even if there are holes in those walls for air access. This option works much better because the fire gets oxygen from all sides: from above, from the sides, from below-everywhere. This means that when you light a fire in this system, you experience significant heat. In fact, the maximum amount of heat. And everyone standing around will feel it. They will feel it at their feet, as heat rises. They will also feel it with their upper body. At first I was a little worried about how low it was

to the ground, but that turned out to be no problem at all. It works just as well, and maybe even better, than higher end fires with screens. And this is true, because, firstly, you feel the heat in your feet better than in higher systems. And at the same time, heat rises. So, essentially, with this design, you won't freeze anywhere. As for the design, I really like it. This is a significant improvement over other systems where assembly and disassembly were so awkward, right? You had to insert the legs, flip it over, install the top supports, then attach the net, and even that was a bit awkward. Here, the entire process has been optimized, which means that assembly and disassembly have become much easier. This is much faster. And at the

same time, it is a hearth. And then it turns into a stove on which you can cook. And that's very cool. And that's something you couldn't do with other fires. In this system, you can burn almost anything you want: firewood, coal, fuel briquettes. Of course, you shouldn't cook on fuel briquettes. This is a bad idea. But if you want to cook something, you can throw firewood or coal here-and cook. And that's very, very cool. I have to say, I wish there were posts to hold the structure in place in the center. It won't fall because there are supports on the outside, but it might slide a little. It would be nice if there was at least one pin on each side to hold it in place. This, of course, is not critical, because the chances of moving are minimal. There

is already some tension here, and when you put down food or put down a pot, the tension between these parts will increase significantly. Getting back to how this stove works: it's worth noting that if you're on a hike where there's a lot of damp wood to kindle, this stove makes a huge difference. And again, it all depends on the oxygen supply to your fire. It gives the best chance of starting a fire with raw or damp wood. And all because there is nothing in this system that would hinder your fire. So for me this is a real find. Here, in the mountains of Western North Carolina, are true rainforests, where huge amounts of rainfall occur. For example, a storm the other day dropped 8.5 inches of rain. This is typical for this area.

Because of this, the firewood, the garbage on the ground-everything is constantly wet or damp, so starting a fire in ordinary fireplaces can be a real ordeal. But with such a system, this is not a problem. And this is because there are no restrictions on the access of oxygen to the fire. This means that this system will provide you with the highest possible efficiency. Another advantage of such a stove-fireplace is light. Most people don't consider this when choosing a fireplace, as conventional designs provide little light. This is because most fireplaces have a solid bottom. In other words, very little light passes through the bottom and illuminates the ground. But there are no walls in this system. There is no bottom. So, the light

is scattered in all directions. So when the fire ignites, the entire area around it will be illuminated. In conventional fireplace designs, you are unlikely to think about how much light they provide. And with such a thing, when you use it, you will immediately notice that the entire area around it shines. This is pretty cool, and also useful. Another plus of this system is the storage case. He is wonderful. This makes it very easy to insert components and take them back out. You don't need to roll up the mesh. She fits in there perfectly. And this means that the net will last even longer. Speaking of nets: they will easily last you several seasons if you take care of them. And that's what I mean. When you light a fire from

above and it burns at full power. In other words, this grid glows red hot. Unless you poke it with a stick, which is entirely possible, because it is essentially a red-hot metal wire. If you don't do this, it will last you a very long time. Light the fire, be careful not to poke a hole in it, let it cool, and it will work season after season. A few more points worth mentioning. When the structure is fully assembled, it is very stable. If you plan to move it, you have to be very careful and make sure you press on the points I mentioned earlier. You really need to make sure the upper supports haven't come loose from the lower frame. At the same time, you should be careful when walking nearby. If you catch one of the upper supports, the entire

furnace system can collapse. It 's unlikely that this will ever happen, but it's worth keeping in mind. Another huge plus of this stove, which testifies to its efficiency, is that it burns any fuel to ash. This stove is very, very efficient. The weight of this system is very good. With that in mind, it was not designed for hiking. It's too heavy and too bulky for that. This is ideal for overlanding, car travel, car camping, etc. Next, friends, it's worth talking about quality: the fit, finish, and construction of the entire setup are very, very good. There are no rough or sharp edges on the frame, no sharp or jagged edges on the mesh. As for the storage case, it is very high quality, which brings us to the final plus-the price and value. This

system is about $20 more expensive than a typical wire mesh fire pit, but its construction is much better. The storage case is much better. Almost everything in this system has been improved compared to other analogues. And the price- quality ratio here is excellent. As for a fire pit, wood or coal stove, this is a great option for $40. It's very interesting when it comes to fires, isn't it? You can spend $20, $40 on something like this, or you can spend around $300. You will get a good product, for sure, but the performance will be worse than this one. And that brings us to the cons section of my review. I have one point worth mentioning, and it's not exactly a negative, but something to be aware of with a system like this.

Once you light a fire, it either burns brightly or not at all, right? There is absolutely nothing here that could slow down the burning process. Since this fire is getting all the oxygen it needs, it will burn at maximum power. And that means you can waste a lot of firewood. With this fire pit, using it as a stove, you will have to learn to balance the amount of fuel and the heat produced. This is especially true if you want to cook on it, and I should mention that I have n't done that yet, but I'll definitely try it.

This is a product that I will be using for a very long time. But back to the main point: this hearth or stove will consume significantly more fuel than a regular campfire. And again, this is because of peak performance, which you have no control over. Anything you put here will burn very, very quickly. The advantage is that it releases a huge amount of heat. Everyone who is nearby will feel this incredible warmth. And with that, friends, I conclude my review of this Camping Moon stove. Overall, I like this product. This is a significant improvement over any other mesh fire pit I have used before. You can use it not only as a fire pit, but also as a stove. You can place a pot or frying pan on top. You can put a kettle there. You can even cook on

this grill. You can even put additional types of grates on top and use them. For the money, this is a great product, and I definitely recommend it. This was an independent review of this product. I purchased it with my own money. I don't care if you buy it. I'm here to share information, thoughts, experiences, and that's all. And then decide for yourself. With that in mind, let us know in the comments what you think about this fire. Have you used a stove system or a fire pit with a mesh before? If so, what do you think about it? If you enjoyed this issue, please give it a like. Thank you all. Take care of yourself, friends. All the best. Strength and honor. See you later.
