Ebola Outbreak Surge Pushes Response Teams to Their Limits

There we see the number of key cases increasing every single day. We see more and more community deaths. We see new cases in new areas. And the what the response is today just can't catch up to the size of the spread of the outbreak today. There are places where you have one community death in a new area, and in a few days you have 17 new cases. It's such a great example of how infectious anyone is that stays in the community as soon as they have symptoms. So, if we don't have proper surveillance in place, if we're not able to monitor every single person that was in contact with a confirmed case, every single person that's at risk of developing the disease, if we're not able to monitor this, the outbreak will continue.
