This is WYOMING!? - Our Ultimate Weekend In The Wind River Range! Local Food & Insane Nature. | Transcript:

Good morning, adventurers. Good morning. If you have been following along, you know that we were just down in Big Bend, one of our favorite and most underrated national parks in the entire US. It was really dang hot, y'all, though, and it was really dry and really dusty. We haven't gotten any fall vibes in, so we're going to switch it up and go to a place that we have never been to before. That is right. We are on our way to the Wyoming wilderness. We're going to get some mountain views. We're going to see some pristine glacial lakes, hike our buns off, and of course, eat all of the delicious things. And we're once again taking this trip with our Delta SkyMiles Platinum American Express card. So, huge thanks to them

for partnering with us on this video. So, when you think of Wyoming, you probably think of Yellowstone and Grand Teton. But we came across the arguably more beautiful and way less crowded Wind River Range. So, we are flying into Jackson Hole and then immediately driving southeast to the little town of Pinedale. All right, we're about to board. I got my bag coffee, ready to go. This is actually our boarding group? I don't know. You don't know what's going on. Thank you. our zone has been called. We are on our way to Wyoming. I like this enthusiasm.

I'm very excited. I'm ready for some mountains, y'all. Please sit back, relax, and enjoy the short 37-minute flight. Thanks for flying with us and we'll see you there. Welcome to Jackson Hole, where the local time is 5:59. We hope you have a wonderful time here in Jackson Hole or wherever your adventures take you. Well, we have landed in Jackson Hole and uh that was probably one of the more beautiful landings that we've ever done. The leaves are just changing down below, so there was all these yellows and greens, flowing rivers, mountains off in the distance. those are the Grand Tetons right there.

Best entrance to an airport ever. All right, this is the uh coolest looking airport I think I've ever been to. Like what the heck? It's like a ski lodge. It's not hectic at all. It's beautiful. Look at all the wood vibes. Not bad at all. Y'all, we're still a little jet lag from our travels in Europe, so we have been waking up very early and we woke up for sunrise. We've got this cabin here with this flowing stream over there, the fall colors, and then a huge rainbow right on top of it. I mean, it's just so bright and perfect. like a painting or something. You know, we always said we were sunset people, but this might have changed our minds.

Yeah. Sorry, I look insane. I literally just got out of bed. We were just like, "Oh my god, this is amazing." Where's the moose? We need a moose right there. The day is off to a very, very good start. But first things first, get ourselves presentable and then coffee. All right, coffee acquired and it is freaking delicious. But you guys saw yesterday that we flew into Jackson Hole, immediately rented a car and drove about an hour southeast to the little town of Pinedale. Right now, everything is just yellow and red because of the leaves changing and of course, surrounding the area are these beautiful mountains. It's the perfect mix of a mountain town and a ranch. It's like cowboy everything, but with amazing

mountain views in the distance. And uh that is where we are going to head first because they are calling. We are taking the most beautiful drive to the most beautiful hike. Someone actually even said it was the best viewpoint in the entire country. Country? Not just the state, the whole dang country. So, for science, we have to go check it out and report back to you guys. This is Skyline Drive and uh it winds through the forest into the mountains along these beautiful lakes and it is just absolutely incredible. I think we're a teeny bit past peak season up here, but everything is still golden and beautiful. It feels like you're driving into some mystical land. I love it.

So, we have just begun the Sacred Rim Trail and uh can't recommend. It is just so beautiful, you guys. No one else is out here, but the trees are also like half dead because we're getting into winter, but still so much greenery. Yeah, you guys, we lucked out. I think this is the last nice day of the year. We heard the locals saying it's going to start snowing up here, maybe even tomorrow. But we were promised epic views, possibly some of the best in the entire country, and those are right this way. So, lead the way. This way. This Let's go. Allison's in a very good mood today. Because I forget, I love nature. Yeah. It's awesome.

It's not bad. And there she goes. I can't control her and I don't even try. What are you doing? There's the cutest little squirrel over there just barking away at us. It sounds so adorable. Man, this forest is so beautiful. It makes me want to say, "Wow." Somebody definitely had fun with the chainsaw on this trail. There's little things carved into a bunch of trees. Wow. We've just been in the forest the whole time, then all of a sudden it opened up to this. Oh my gosh. I would have never known that this was at the end of the trail. Oh man, it is stunning, you guys, and nobody else is here. We have the whole thing to

ourselves. There's these two blue lakes down there and then you have a little bit of the yellow peppered throughout because of the leaves are changing. Can we just live here now? Can we just build a house? Yeah. All right. Well, you know what I'm going to do now. It's time lapse time, y'all. Allison's getting some guts. She's going for the little foot shot. This is as far as I'm going. I can't even let my legs hang fully over it. Just my toes.

Okay, scootch them back. Scootch them Fun fact, a lot of people think Grand Teton is the tallest mountain here in Wyoming. It turns out it's not. It's Garnet Peak, which is in there somewhere. And then it's Grand Teton and then the next 18 tallest peaks are also here in the Wind River Range. That's some peak That's some tall peaks, some big peaks. Peak. You were doing you were on a roll there for a second. I don't know. It's happening. I'm just like dumbfounded by how beautiful it is, you guys. And there's this thunderstorm rolling in. It's just magical.

We're just taking a little breather after our hike. Man, the elevation is getting to me. I am huffing and puffing. We've just been booking some of our upcoming travel. I think we're going to head out to San Diego again later in the year. My cousin actually lives out there, so we're going to go see him and explore some more of that area, I think. And we were able to snag a last-minute flight using the miles we've been earning on our card. And with TakeOff 15, eligible Delta SkyMiles American Express card members can automatically save 15% when using miles to book award travel on Delta flights when using delta.com or the Fly Delta app, but that does not apply to partner operated

flights or taxes and fees. Well, in addition to going out to California, you guys, we are going to be doing some RV road tripping. Maybe. We'll be heading back to Texas after this and hoping that Clementine starts up. Think we're going to meet up with some people on the road, get in a bit of warm weather before winter officially sets in. I think we want to run away from the cold weather cuz uh we just need like 2 weeks of it or so a year and then we're done. We did that hike and it was 60°. It just snowed up there. Somebody said they got 5 in. Tonight it's supposed to snow here

in the town. I was not prepared for snow. I thought it was going to be fall vibes, but we switched straight into winter. So, we have been staying in the adorable little mountain town of Pinedale. It sits right next to the Wind River Range, so it is completely surrounded by raw, epic nature. And in fact, around 80% of the land in this county is public land. Well, night has fallen on Pinedale and so has a little layer of snow. We just went to a little restaurant in town and when we came out, we saw a bunch of moose tracks, you guys. We followed them and we're hoping we could see some moose off in the distance and we found them.

It was pretty freaking sweet. I don't have my camera or anything and it was really dark. I couldn't really get a video of them, but they were huge. There was like four of them. Four, maybe five of them. Now, what am I going to do? I'm all hopped up on seeing moose. up on the moose, huh? Oh man. Well, maybe we'll see some more in the daylight. We can show you that. We'll see. Okay, I guess we'll see you tomorrow. We got another moose sighting. Look at this guy off in the fog. This time in the daytime. It's a big old bull moose. He just does not have a care in the world. He's so big. We've actually seen a total of like five moose because there

were like four of them last night. I'm very happy about that. I think our previous record was two. So, we have more than doubled it. Well, Wyoming is showing off today, huh, y'all? And we thought it was pretty the other day when we were up here for our hike, but now look at this. There's like a dusting of snow. There's all this fog off in the distance making it all mysterious and moody. There was actually this huge wall of fog and it just slowly made its way in over the lakes and over the surrounding areas. It completely white it out the road, but then there's spots like this where it opens up and it just comes

rolling in on top of the water. You've got the fall colors down there, the dusting of snow. It's magical. If you guys can't tell, we are completely in love with this area. We must be in the shoulder season, I guess, because we've got this awesome epic skyline drive. Not a single other person is on it. It is all for us. So, we actually ended up chatting with a couple locals in the coffee shop in town and they turned us on to a place called Green River Lakes. And apparently it has this beautiful, kind of rugged drive to get out to it, but it's like a must-see

thing in the area. Mhm. But first, we have to make a very important pit stop in town to get this girl a delicious treat of the dough variety. Some dough for this nut? Mhm. All right. I like the I like that. Was that good? I don't know. I don't even know anymore. Some dough for this nut? Oh, baby. I don't know what's a more beautiful sight, a moose walking through the woods or 12 mini donuts. So, there's a little cafe in town that specializes in mini donuts and that is our favorite thing because we're not super big on

sweets and this way we get a little bite-sized taste of every kind they have. So, they have one of those machines where the rings just kind of float down and then plop onto a tray and then they put a dusting of all these goodies on top of it. And they're basically one biters. Yeah, we got some maple syrup and bacon. We've got some with huckleberries. This is like a cookie crunch. This is their seasonal pumpkin and then we just got some plain cinnamon sugar and some with Nutella on top. You got to try that seasonal pumpkin. Oh, I'm very excited. Look how cute it is. And it's one bite. It's fall in a bite. For a second I thought you were going to take a little bite of that. did, but then I read your mind. Oh my

gosh, it's like a fresh pumpkin on top of a little tiny perfectly fried donut. I'm going to have to get after this huckleberry one right here. It just looks too good and it got some powdered sugar on there. Mhm. Oh, baby. Oh, right in the beard. Oh, yeah. Man, I got too much hair going on. I keep getting stuff in it. This is just an adorable little delight. The powdered sugar is just so light and airy and then there's a ton of flavor from the huckleberry goo that's on there. Woohoo. Man, that's good. So, we've hit the road once again and we're taking this road that goes out towards the western part of town up to Gannett Peak. But this drive is just beautiful. We've been driving by

legitimate cowboys and cow women, cowgirls. Cow people. They look like they're straight out of an old western. I mean, they have the long dusters on, the hat. They got their sheep herding dogs or cow herding dogs. And then of course we were stopped by a herd of deer crossing the road. It was adorable. So, we were told that the paved road eventually leads to a very, very rough road that you have to take for like 30 miles and that was exactly accurate. This is a pretty dang rough road. Because it's been snowing and raining, it's also very muddy. But apparently they recently had a forest fire out here, so the hillsides are all

just charred black just for miles and miles. It's nuts. Well, the really long bumpy road was worth it, you guys, cuz this is what's at the end. These are the Green River Lakes and in the back there, I'll give you $10 if you can guess the name of that mountain. It's Squaretop Mountain. I guess they ran out of fun names, so they just went literal with it. But again, how picturesque and serene is this? Not another soul in sight. No moose, either, but that's fine. We saw some this morning. Yeah, somehow Wyoming has just been getting more and more beautiful and now this that dusting of snow wasn't there yesterday. No.

It really adds to it. It's so fun. It's fall and the impending winter coming. It's a really cool vibe out here. Well, we have arrived back at the world's most beautiful airport, I think. I'm really proud of us. We actually arrived like 3 hours before our flight. we're so grown up. But I don't really want to lug this all through the airport. Luckily, because I booked my flight with my Delta card, I get to check my first bag for free. So, that means I am saving up to $70 round trip. Hello, dinner on me, huh? Well, that was a pretty fantastic trip. If you're thinking of coming to Wyoming, maybe

skip Tetons and Yellowstone and check out the Wind River Range. I mean, you guys saw the footage. It was incredible. Full disclosure, we ended up staying here a couple extra days because we loved it so much. But a huge thanks once again to American Express. You can check out our link in the description below to find out how you can make the most of your travels with the Delta SkyMiles Platinum American Express card. But I think that is it for us. There's nobody in security line, so we're going to go take advantage of that. And then we're going to plan our next travels cuz y'all, at the moment, we don't know what we're doing or where we're going. ideas, though. So, stay tuned for that.

Yeah, it could be up in the air, it could be down on the ground, in a boat. It's definitely up in the air, you know, figuratively speaking. That's for sure. Okay. rambling has started. Goodbye, adventures. We'll see on the road.
