We're hanging with Slinky today, friends. He's slow, but he's still the king of the camp. All right, so it's time to feed Slinky. Let's see if we can get him to move a little bit faster. There you go. Good boy, Slinky. Good boy. A, that's my guy. I'm glad he's still got an appetite, thankfully. He is such a beautiful lizard, but he's getting old. He's a little bit thinner. I don't know if that's good or bad. Um, you know, they're getting fed once a week with prey items and then we're doing the croc pellets supplementally. But, uh, yeah, Slinky
is old man now. And I don't know, guys. It's just sad. I don't know when the time will be, but here he is. Oh, that's it. That's all you're getting. two rats this week. Okay, let me put this outside before he attempts to grab it. There he is. Don't forget my redline tongs here. Heats, rather. I got to keep this door open because sometimes it closes and my little drawstring doesn't work very well. There we go. Yeah. See what I mean? Yeah. Could be a problem. So, anyway, Slinky came to me so long ago. He's been a part of this channel and our lives for so many years. We almost lost him.
Uh I think back in like 2019 or so where he almost froze to death. I love this lizard. He's one of my more he's one of my most cherished pals. Um by the way, look at this radiator tortoise having a drink. I love coming in here because look at this. They get they use all aspects of this aquacape ecosystem and it's just really cool to see. And because this is covered with our knitwire mesh uh that our friends all the way from Nitwire gave us many years ago. Um there's no leaves that fall in here. Save the ones that are actually from this enclosure. So that
keeps this pond so clean. I've only cleaned it one time and you can see it's just beautiful. Uh we have some really cool animals living in here. Look at Slick. He's looking around for more. We'll visit you in a second. Stay there. I want to wander around. Look. Here we go. Here's one of our African mud turtles, Peliosus Subniger. We have two of them in here, plus some Ocadia sensus. These guys have become quite tame and fun, as has our Madagascar big head turtle. Let's get some food. Some of our fluker aquatic turtle buffet blend that I kind of put in a fluker high cricket
diet. Whatever. You know, I like to recycle things. But here's the funny thing with this turtle, who I don't have a name for. Okay, you guys should name this Madagascar big head because it's got definite personality. Come on. Yes. Just like Marge, get over here. Just like Margie, this turtle loves to eat out of the jug. Get Can you get up there? I think you can. you always do in the past. Look at Slink's wandering around. See, Slink is still all right. He's still got good food response. He's just got that arthritis, friends. I'm wondering if I should bring him back
to Dr. Mike for another X-ray just to see what's going on. Uh if it's progressed and maybe there's some kind of medication I can give him that would help him out cuz he's he's my boy. I hope he's not in agony. I hope he's just slowed down. Let's see what I can do here to help this turtle because I really wanted to show you the excitement. Come here. Look at how big it's getting. That's cool. Look, look, look, look, look. Come on. Don't bite my fingers, Slinks. There you go. That's what I like to see. See that? Are you going to bite me? Huh? What are you doing? He just took
a bite. He's out. Let's throw some food in. The other cool thing is that the subnigers, the mud turtles, tend to love living in this area. They just kind of hang out in the stream. They're rarely in the deeper portion of the pond, which is interesting. But you look at that. So now this guy is nibbling away, which I think is awesome. That's so cool. Let's throw some more food in. I just like to kind of spread it out. Make sure everything's looking good. Look who's following me. See? See this guy? Is that awesome or what? He always He's like I used to have a cat,
Max. I don't know if any of you remember Max from many, many, many years ago, depending on how long you've been watching this channel, but uh Max would follow me around the property. And uh Slinky does the same around his enclosure. I also love that he doesn't really mess with these turtles and tortoises. [clears throat] They have to be of a certain size. If they were small, goners. And probably not getting a lot of eggs out of this enclosure. What are you going to do? We're not really worried about it. Look at that little guy. Slinky is all over the place, dude. You already had some food. You had your food, dude. I love it. See,
how great is that? Nibbling away. Now, let me see if I can find the ocadia. They tend to really enjoy. Yeah. Oh, look at this. There's one. There's one right in there. Can you guys see in the bofalls? Let me see if I can get it up here by throwing some pellets in the pond in the bofalls rather. Try and get its attention. Um I don't know if it's going to work, but we're going to go under water. Here you go. So the Ocadia or Chinese strip neck turtle, golden thread turtle is living in they love to live in the bofalls which is cool. All aspects of the ecosystem gets used even the filtration and there's a radiated in. There's a radiated hanging out with a Chinese
golden thread right there. That's great. So that's nice. I'm going to throw some of this pellet down. See if I can entice them out. Meanwhile, Slinkx is still following, kind of chasing me, albeit slowly. Watch our step here. Walk through this jungle. More radiata in the morning. Sun's just starting to really get stronger here. So, they're gently basking. I'm going to go ahead and throw a little bit of food out here so we can kind of create that foraging behavior that this big head turtle needs to do. And so, these guys get fed every couple of days because obviously they've eaten all of the weeds that grow in this enclosure. But by and large, just this has been one
of the more amazing enclosures because all I really need to do is do some like pruning of trees and things like that. Uh, you know, so it's it's just been great. It's awesome. All right. All right, Slinks, you got your two rats today. We got to go feed the croc monitors. You guys want to come with me? Well, if you don't, too bad. You're coming with me. Uh, let's leave this right here. Well, no. I like to leave it in here because a raccoon could potentially try and get in at it. Let me actually put it back up top. I'm thinking out loud, friends. Put it back up here. That's better. I like it. Okay.
Door shut. Allighty, we got to get Lulu and Chase all hooked up now. I love coming in with these guys, man. They have just really become Look at this gorge. You're gorgeous. You know, you're gorgeous. Look at that guy. And look at that girl. Look at these two beauties. Look at these two beauties right here. All right. Here's a chick for you. Chick-fil-A. You be either that. You be doing that. I'm actually going to try and just toss this over there for him because I want to keep her away from him. As you know, she's kind of like a pain in the neck
when it comes to food. He's going to grab that. Hello. What's wrong with you? Oh my god. Keep her over here. Keep her busy. Plenty of chicks for my chick, Lulu. Now, why are you interested? Careful, cannon. Why aren't you Hey, come on. There it is. That's a boy. Get over there. Come here. Let's get you up here. Come on. Come up. All the way. That's it. There you go. That's what I like to see. You're going to get two rats today. Yes, you are. Good. You work on that. Hey, busy body. Oh, that's some deep mud. You're so busy, buddy. There's a girl. There you are, love. Oh my gosh. I love her. I just love her.
The monitors, you guys know how much I love them. Good. Can you eat from my hand, do you think? Are you going to take my hand off or what? Come on, gentle. There you go. Yay. Good girl. What a sweetie. And we're just going to really load her up. Want to load her up today. All right. Just keep going down here.
Perfecto. Now, interesting how weeds haven't really grown in here too much. Don't know why. Um, these guys don't eat them, but they do like their chicks. Um, I don't know what's going on with that. H I was always wondering if I could put like, you know, that the elongated would live in here good. They're from a similar place. They're from the same geographic location. That could be kind of cool, you know. But, um, I'm not sure. We're going to go back and visit him in a moment, but I just want to see what she's up to. Look at how gentle he always takes such a long time to eat.
Yeah. Uhoh. Slinky thinks he can get at him. Let me get over there and just kind of see what happens to this food. This rodent. I don't know why he's so like gentle when he eats. There we go. He's figured it out now. Meanwhile, he has no problem climbing the uh enclosure.
Now, when we first got this guy, you guys will remember I couldn't be this close to him without him freaking out. Now, no problem. Keep eating. Oh, slinky. Not very graceful. Well, let's give her one. Let's see if she can eat a whole rodent, which I think she will. You eat that, baby. That'll keep her busy for a while. And then we've got that for him. So,
everybody is going to be extremely fat and happy. You take that and go somewhere else now. Oh, she's going to rip it. Wow. This is so cool watching me use her claws. Look at how just quickly she was able to get into that. Look at this. Oh my gosh. That's incredible. Those are very, you know, effective uh tools for defense, climbing, eating. I wish I had claws like that. We would be just insanely formidable. Uhoh. Hey, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Hey, no, no, no, no, no. Look, look, look, look, look, look. Come on. Come over here. Why you
want what she's got? I gave you your own special thing. Yeah, that's what I like. Okay, friends. There you have it. [clears throat] All our monitors are happy. Are you happy? Ah, that's what matters the most. Hope you guys are having fun with your animals. I'm having great time with mine here in the property. Going to go work on some bikes right now. But we had a lot of fun today feeding, interacting, and just being at peace with these incredible reptile dragons that I live with. Thanks so much, guys. Don't forget to go to patreon.com/campkennon and I'll be
talking to you all again really, really soon. Take care. Now you're fast. When you see another one, do it. Just do it. He's way more well behaved than she is. Good job.
