good morning i am jumping into this video before we get going um i filmed this entire video yesterday uh but i just want to preface it with a couple of things switching this video was going to go on my second channel because this was meant to be just a fun light-hearted little video that i thought would fit well on my second channel but as you will discover as we go through it i really felt that this needed and deserve the biggest platform that i have access to which is my main channel um just because i think people just need to know about this video is a little bit choppy so i'm going to cut to the original video of when i open my lost stock parcel then i cut back in later on with after opening all the clothes and
stuff and then digging online what i found out about this company and may i also mention this is not a charity this is a business so just keep that one in mind as well as we move forward but yeah i do come in and out a little bit but yeah of what i filmed yesterday and then i'll cut back in later and then i now this person right here i will cut back in at the end and we will finish this video off that's all i'm gonna say just please do watch it till the end today we are going to be opening the long awaited lost stock parcel now give you a rundown of what this is all about so the starter lockdown i saw a news article that a company was saving like tons of clothing from landfill that's when lockdown
happened all the shops closed and high street retailers like topshop etc um cancelled all their orders mainly in bangladesh so many tons of garments were just going to head straight to landfill because they cancelled their orders not only that and is it terrible for the environment the two or the bangladeshi workers and their families in these um garment stores and factories we're going to basically out of work so that's where lost stock came in and you buy basically a mystery bag of three items i think some people said they got four for 35 pounds you put in your size your preferences you want my bright colors or darker colors things like that and they send you three mystery items for 35 pounds and everything should have a value
in total of 70 pound plus so the price of one lost stock order for 35 pounds will give one bangladeshi family you know means to live food etc money for a week for their families so the way i saw it was i'm really picky with clothes i normally wear just wear very dark clothes today i'm feeling wild as we can see that didn't like any of the clothes it wouldn't be the end of the world i could donate them and just see my 35 pounds as a donation to help a family out that's what i went in thinking about now i ordered this a long time ago now i ordered this on the 22nd of may it is now august they were not hiding the fact that this would take a while to get to you because they had to get all the garments they had to re-label them get them over there
i'm sure so many hoops they have to jump through to save these pieces of clothing so i didn't mind that either you know it's not like i knew i was in the bag again i saw it as like a donation to help so i'm gonna open it up and we are going to try on the items okay let's do it let's open it up i posted this on instagram and i did get a few people said they received theirs as well some people quite happy some people weren't so oh my god i saw pink and yellow so when i place i'm not really looking at them but you can't miss these colors i ordered darks and neutrals because i do not this is the most colorful you'll probably ever see me in okay like i said i'm doing it mainly for the donation part i will get showing the clothes in just a second
but i'm also gonna review it on the basis of other people wanted nice clothes and 35 pounds is a lot of money for so many people including me it is and it shouldn't be taken lightly and people did want clothes and if you put a preference down it should have been stuck too so what i don't mind too much i'm happy to donate okay oh my god why have i got pink okay let's have a look so i have got four items in here first one is a little vest top by the looks of its little white vest top this looks incredibly see-through okay so first item is this little vest top with a little uh pocket on the side okay so this is the first item as you can see very see-through look i've got like a sports bra kind of thing on so
basic there's not much to say about it really so uh let's move on to the next one shall we it's it's definitely oh no it's a vest a mustard color i'm gonna try this one on um and see actually what this yellow looks like on me so no um so yeah this is it on it feels nice i do like linen especially in summer um but one not my color to a terrible cut on me just like i got big strong girl arms and these cuts are cut here not flattering on me whatsoever um so this is a hard no from me a hard no what is this i think i've got all tops oh this might not be a top actually that might be a dress be a bit disappointed if i just got all tops this is the second one it is a white little top this is item number three again very sheer this way i don't
wear white it's not my style and i won't be keeping it so the last item is bright pink so i already know i'm not gonna keep it that's really wizard i said neutral colors there's bright and neutrals and i definitely didn't want bright colors and two of the items were bright anyway we'll talk about that my final thoughts whoa ah one of my followers i think this is the same one that you got um because you said you got a little reddish uh slip dress this is definitely a slip dress it's really thin i'm keeping my jeans on underneath because it's a bit sheer this is the most confusing dress i've ever put on do people wear this just out maybe if you're like at a hotel resort or on the beach maybe but it's so thin
i can't imagine ever wearing this yeah this is a hard no it's a very confusing dress um and it feels yeah just thin and flimsy so out of the four items i won't be keeping any of them um i don't know why like i said i got bright colors when i distinctly asked for non-bright colors so that was a shame that automatically put me at a disadvantage of liking anything because i'm just so picky moving that side 70 pounds so all those four items should be worth 70 pounds and i'm gonna be honest i don't see how that is 70 pounds worth now i don't really show up at high street stores much it's very rare that i you know some things you gotta buy new you know so i'll pop in and grab some bits now and again i'm a secondhand shopper though me love my bargains
but i can't see how that is 70 pounds worth of clothes because they're little vest tops which i oh you know i mean and that thin slip dress was um i mean someone will love it everyone has a different taste but yeah i really don't see how that's 70 pounds you're right ally they're definitely not gonna come to 70 pounds because they are not worth that and we need to have a discussion about that now after i filmed this video i went on to twitter to see what everyone else's experiences were and whether anyone had figured out where these items were from what high store retailer and what the rrp was you know the internet is wild with finding out they will always find out minus that random pink thin dress those three items were very popular in this
batch and most people received the exact same thing regardless of the preference they put in i was like okay maybe these are just teething problems you know you couldn't get our preferences bang on you kind of went viral and with what you tried to do everyone jumped on board thought it was great couldn't hit all our preferences you were sorry and you'll do better fine that's not what i'm annoyed about because like i said in the video i made it very clear this was just a donation to try and help out um a family during this time and whatever i received there's the three tops that i received let's take the dress out for just a second because some people just received those three tops are all from matalan and they are all being sold on their website
the mustard top is being sold on the matalan website for 12.50 the singlet that i got the little plain vest top with the pocket is five pounds and the white top with the frilly bits at the bottom is 10 pounds that comes to 27 pound 50. 70 pounds so i did a little digging they have responded on twitter and in a video on their official twitter page saying that they have strict regulations that a package will not go out if it is not hitting the 70 pounds rrp price that you are meant to get worth of value in the bag so they said there's no way every single bag will have a retail value of 70 pounds and they keep going on about it rrp that they're working off that 70 pounds is what the retailer was going to sell it as
in may march when did we order it at the start that's where they got their prices right at the beginning that's what matalan was gonna sell these items for really well that's 23 pounds an item let's say three items from matalan they were originally going to sell those little flimsy vest tops for 23 pounds each were they that was their rrp so the funny is they stopped responding when people pull that out to them on twitter everyone had the same thing to say it's like no these are matalan prices five pounds for a little singlet your pounds for a little vest top with some frills on it those are matalan prices what you're saying is the matalan was originally back then their rrp on all of these if they're not
even equal but if they were then it'll be about 23 pounds each to kind of value up towards the 70 pound mark is that what you're saying and it's not even true because the singlet say we've got the little five pound vest top that wouldn't have been marked up much more maybe seven let's say that one was so the most expensive of those three items was some mustard top are you saying the matalan was what gonna sell that for 30 35 pounds bollocks absolute bollocks no they weren't it's one thing not hitting people's preferences and things like that but this is false advertising 35 pounds is a lot of money that people need and they thought one is great somebody's gonna go to a bangladeshi family help them through
this crisis we're gonna stop close going into landfill and i'm going to get 70 pounds worth of clothing 35 pounds is a lot of money to a lot of people and that was probably their one treat they're in lockdown they're gonna treat themselves and get 70 pounds worth of clothes even if not everything was their style they could work with it so long as they got their 70 pounds worth you have not done that and please it's i'm so angry don't sit there and say that's what matalan they can't say matalan because they've cut all the labels out but some of them they haven't cut out the factories didn't cut the labels out the internet worked in mysterious ways did you think that no one was going to catch you out and all of these things you are
able to buy on matalan right now so they might have maybe cut down their stock say on the 12 pound 50 mustard top they only took a hundred thousand units instead of quarter of a million units i don't know what numbers would be but you know what i mean so the rest would have gone to landfill and that's how you got it so angry and when i'm finished yeah just own up to it i'm getting more angry for other people i'm seeing so many people disappointed so disappointed and they've spent 35 pounds as a treat that they might not have those three items are on the matalan website we can see and they were never going to sell them for a total grand rrp of 70 pounds that's no they weren't i've been chatting to my friend
about this um having a little look-see now twitter has blown up a lot of people saying exactly the same thing replying to lost stock saying um sorry but it's not true some people have had only the three matalan items um which you can buy less than 30 pounds people are calling them out i went onto their website and was having a really good route around and there was something on there that boiled my blood super passive aggressive when it comes to charity don't you dare be passive aggressive with people and i didn't like this one bit so under the path of their website where they talk about refunds this is what they say if you choose to return your parcel rather than wishing to allow your lost stock box to continue doing good by supporting workers
families and people who are struggling with the impact of the pandemic you'll need to send the whole parcel back to us let me just do that again if you choose to return your parcel rather than wishing us to allow your lost stock box to continue doing good by supporting workers you might as well have said oh you want to return oh so you're not charitable you don't actually want to help oh okay yeah return yeah no worries you're not actually that char you don't actually want to do the good then you want to return okay you can return then yes did no one proofread that why are you guilting people have yes you giving 14 days to return people who obviously thought this was a great thing also put money into something to receive products that
you have not delivered on because the value is not 70 pounds that is what you advertise and it should be a no questions asked no bloody guilt-tripping people into not returning that item by saying if you decide you don't want to help the bangladeshi family and you know not be charitable or you know help struggling families during this time how dare you write it like that if someone has a complaint it is their full right you have sold an item that is false advertising and people are not happy they have the right to return it without being guilt-tripped 35 pounds i say it again can feed a family for a week that is people's grocery money and they might have wanted to treat themselves and you have no right to guilt-trip anyone into getting their money back especially
especially when you provide something that was not advertised i completely understand not wanting to encourage people because it was a mystery box so you might not have got the styling or things that you would wear we all took that risk when we got the box all of us took that risk it's not the problem people will be angry and want to return because it's not 70 pounds worth of clothing and they have a right to without made to feel like a piece of from you okay so i want to jump in right now and note a few more things that have been going on since i filmed that last clip so when it came to refunds not only i was mainly angry because of the passive aggressive nature and language used on their website but i also found a bit lower down it
says any donation made to our ngo partner shipping and vat paid on your behalf for import will not be refunded so that's great because they have already said that the money you know is already going to help these families which i should hope so because it's been going on for months so of course you know if you're going to get a refund you won't get your charity donation back of that 35 pounds or posted which made sense and v80 okay fine which makes me then question why they were so passive aggressive regarding returns and refunds so i was like if you take out the donation the shipping and the v80 paid to import those clothing items what are you left with their bottom line their returns and refunds page makes it
feel like your money won't be going to the charity they're working with if you get a refund and then lower down that's not true so they're getting angry and passive aggressive because they're protecting their bottom line as a business your money's already gone to that charity and you won't get it back so they're using that and shielding behind this charity to guilt-trip you into not getting a refund for their bottom line not for the charity can't tell you how much that pissed me off now social media as i said has blown up people are reporting them and i went on to their facebook profile they have now removed reviews because i luckily screenshotted a ton of them and now they have deleted their reviews
of just terrible reviews upon like awful things that we have all been saying people are just not happy with the false advertising and the response also a lot of people are showing screenshots of how they are being blocked when they are trying to get the matter resolved with them they're just getting blocked and people are showing screenshots of them getting blocked on facebook and stuff things are getting deleted not good for them not good they keep responding with the same copy and paste thing of you know email us we'll find a solution and people are like okay well you also said to message you i message you and you've blocked me because i've said bad things and i've left a bad review so i can't get in touch with you
apparently no one's responding to emails i can't say that personally i haven't emailed them myself but the one last thing from social media this is one of their responses i just wanted to touch on real quick every box is made to build in a way to combine products to reach the rrp level that we outline based on the original selling price of a product we cannot control what a brand is now selling it for if you know how people find a solution at this email address so they're kind of just shielding themselves saying well that was what we decided before uh not my problem the matalan are now selling them at these prices which come on they were always going to sell them for but because they can't release what brands that
you have got in your box even though we can say yes it's matalan because we found them on their website the exact same items they're not allowed to say that and they probably won't be able to release any kind of contracts or agreement because of confidentiality so they can sit behind their wall of confidentiality and be like trust us just trust us i mean we legally can't do anything else so just trust us and it's not our problem now if the rrp has changed deal with it um so that again their responses people are not happy with their responses they are not doing themselves any favors i want to end this video now because this is long and i want to get this up for you this just hanged me on the whole
so many levels because now it's making me question the ethics of this business i really hope the charity that they are working with is getting the money i really hope they are but they have this whole pr crisis on their hand and i think the best thing they can do is come forward and put their hands up because the damage they are doing by the way they are replying is going to bury them it's already burying them i will never order another thing from them ever again and so many people have said the same which is a shame but a lot of people have said i'm never gonna support a um initiative like this ever again how terrible is that this came out as such a good idea and everyone had really high hopes and these
are beyond teething problems these are people feel like they have been scammed that there is something very wrong going on here and this is why i wanted to put this on my main channel because i know so many of you have ordered one so many of you talking to you on instagram are so upset with what you got really feel like you've been ripped off and you have full right to feel that way because you were given something that wasn't correctly advertised 35 pound box with less than 30 pounds worth of products in they're still being sold on a website in the uk and it's just a mess they need to fix this and i think the only way is to fully admit what they have done is wrong i don't see them doing that though but i would love to see that because the only way
they can go fits is they need professional help to clean up this pr mess they really do and again i hope that money is going to the correct places right this is a very long video and let me know if you have received one of your boxes because some of the earlier deliveries that people received people loved them they were really happy with what they got um it's mainly this batch right now the last couple i've seen different photos are just full of cheap less than value way less than valued um items that's just been thrown in the box no preferences cared about just here you go here's some cheap clothes nowhere near 70 pound value and obviously people are angry let me know
