Well, good morning, adventurers. Good morning. Yo, I think we just might have arrived to paradise. So, Sandals invited us to come out and check out their Royal Curaçao resort for a few days, and we were obviously more than happy to oblige because this is a brand new country for us and somewhere we have always wanted to visit. just flew in from the US. They had a car waiting for us at the airport, and they took us straight to the resort. But, this isn't going to be your typical resort stay. We are doing it luxury style, y'all. That means we're going to try out one of their swanky private villas. Should have its own little plunge pool, and I'm pretty sure it even comes with a butler.
Y'all know we were just living in a tiny van up in Seattle, which is cool and all, but it was anything but luxury. This place, however, is a luxury adults-only resort, and I think it is going to be one of the coolest resorts we have ever been to. We have officially arrived at the resort, and normally we do like a little welcome champagne, but because we're in Curaçao, we had to do a blue Curaçao drink. And it's delicious. god, I think this is called the ocean wave, which confirmed it is identical to those ocean waves out there. First off, you've already seen that the property is just insanely beautiful, but this resort is also known for having some incredibly delicious food as well.
Yeah, I am ready to see how much I can eat before my bikini just pops right off. Actually, that might be okay at our private pool, which our room should have, and I think it is currently ready. You guys, I cannot wait to check this out. I think it is going to be amazing. Lead the way. Holy cow, I don't know which way to go. I don't know either. Okay, this is way nicer than I thought it was going to be. I was just expecting a room. This is an entire living quarters. Like, there's a whole living room over there. They have like dining area. We've got some champagne.
Look, check it out. Yeah, champagne and they gave us a little fruit plate. Oh, okay, that's the most beautiful fruit plate I've ever seen. Also, I just realized this is St. Louis. Yeah, there you go. homage to our hometown. When you walk in, you have your whole mini bar area. And confirmed, all of this is included. All of these bottles. You can go through as much of it as you want and they will replenish it daily. This is the nicest mini bar setup I've ever had in a hotel. And you guys know we did that fancy hotel in Vegas. We've been comparing everything to that. This is better because you notice there are
no pressure plates underneath these that charge you the minute you pick them up. No, and that place was more expensive per night than any room here and it came with nothing. Absolutely nothing. Not even a snack or a bottle of water. That hurt a lot more than I thought it was going to. What I was going to say is they have a whole king-size bed fit for a king and queen, which we definitely are for the next 4 days, right? Definitely. Yes. On the property, there's this whole row. On the property, there's a row of villas and we are in one of the butler suites, which means that we have this, a direct line to a butler. Y'all, they give you
your own phone and you can call them up and be like, "What do I need? I need breakfast in bed. I need afternoon snacks. I need dinner reservations. I need a spa reservation." That might take a little getting used to. We're not a butler type of people, but I can try to be one if I need to. I think I could learn the ropes pretty quickly if I had to. So, this whole villa is a big old circle. You've seen what's in the front part of the circle, the living bedroom area. This is the back part of the circle. Prepare to be impressed. This is so freaking sweet and perfect and fantastic. I love everything about it and I can't wait for you to be in here and for me to mosey on in here, if you know what I mean.
Okay, well I'm just going to go ahead and say it. This is probably the nicest room we've ever been in at a resort. And this isn't even it, you guys. From what we understand, there's a whole outside area. What even is this? There's a whole freaking pool out here and a another tub and a shower, another seating area, lounge area. Oh my gosh. There's like a little path between the water. That's amazing. we have never done an overwater bungalow yet, but I feel like this is about as close as you can get on land. Can you not walk backwards? I feel like you're going to slip right into that pool. I fall, it's going to be refreshing.
It's going to be fine. Sure. There's already a pool. What are you supposed to do with this? Dude, outside bath. Yeah, there we go. All right, scrub-a-dub-dub. see it now. I think there's room for two in here, sir. There's another door out here. Oh, this is the shower in the bath. No way. So, this connects from the outside to the shower, so you can immediately go from outside to the shower and then it goes to the inside. Can I just live here? Can I Absolutely not. Clementine, you've done good for us, but this I think this is the new era of my life.
You guys, we've danced around long enough. There's a champagne bottle here. It's on ice. You know what that means. Well, apologies for the lame champagne popping shot. I'm really bad at it taking the cork out. It really scares me every time. Regardless, we ended up with a glass of champagne. And now the hardest part of resort life, trying to figure out which bikini to wear. But I think I know the perfect one for today. All right, bikini on, all the sunscreen applied, and now it is time to leave our adorable little plunge pool behind and go check out the big boy pool.
Oh my word, y'all. We get a whole cabana. Dude, cabana life. Have we ever had a private cabana? I don't think so, ever. And my pasty skin is so thankful for it. Oh, yeah. That's that butler cabana right there. Ooh wee. Guys, this pool is freaking huge. There's plenty of people out here, but we still feel like we have it all to ourselves. Crazy.
Oh, it feels so good and refreshing, y'all. But as we mentioned, it is an infinity pool, so head out to infinity. To the ocean and beyond. Well, this is the coolest infinity pool or resort pool in general that I've ever been into. So, there's this middle part here that we're into, but then you can see it opens up to this lower part, and then that opens up to the ocean. It's like multi-level infinity. You guys, that is our butler, and he has been finding us everywhere. He just pops up and he's like, "Can I do anything for you?" It's fantastic.
This is like true vacation mode, y'all. He's like, "Can I make you reservations anywhere? Can I get you more drinks? Can I do anything?" We're like, "Nope. As long as we've got our mango margaritas and this view, we're A-okay." Well, they just came around offering us little appetizers. Was it fried crab fritters? Is that what it was? Yeah. Why not? This is amazing. Lemon crush. Okay. Thank you. sec. Oh my gosh. Yeah. Orange and lemonade. Beautiful. First, they bring crab fritters, now free drinks. What is happening?
Cheers. Yeah, cheers. The best. Best day ever. So, there's all the specialty dining the classic buffet, but they also have a food truck park here, y'all. Here I got Jamaican jerk chicken. I got some Filipino peanut pork with rice. They've got a full bar in here. It's like you're back in Austin or some hip city, you know? Yeah, exactly. Just like having a meal overlooking the ocean at a food truck park. Like, I did not think that was going to happen. Well, they know how to make a piece of chicken here. I've already dug into it and it's delicious. Give that a try. Keep it classy.
Oh, well, that's a delight. It's smoky, juicy. The Jamaican jerk sauce on there is like so good and flavorful. But, I'm eating the rest of it, so. Okay. Rude. Well, hello there. Howdy. Oh, there you are. Howdy. We were thinking it is just about time to give this plunge pool a try, eh? Let's plunge. How deep is this thing? 4 FT IS IT? OOH, IT'S A LITTLE DEEPER THAN I REALIZED. HOW WAS THAT FOR YOU? FANTASTIC. That's what a plunge looks like, a real plunge. That was a plunge. You're right. That's how a man plunges. Get on in here.
Me? There's no steps. Just do what I did. I'm not even touching it. Wait. Nailed it. Well, this is the life. Our own private little pool, our own little cabana. I've got champagne, and I have mini pancakes, y'all. There's a little place at the resort that makes these poffertjes. They're these Dutch little pancakes, which we have actually had before, but they're so cute. You just squirt the little batter into this mold. You flip them halfway through, and then they cook the rest of the way, and they come out golden brown like this. She topped them in powdered sugar, although that has kind of melted a little bit cuz they were so warm.
Mhm. What a great end to the first day. And of course, with champagne. Yeah. Who am I? This is luxury, man. I'll take one of those. Okay, classic. Sadly, that is the end of our first day here at the resort, but the fun is just beginning. We have more days left, so many more things to do and see, places to eat. Oh my gosh, more drinks to be drank. Yes, it's going to be fantastic. We can't wait, we can't wait to take you around and show you everything. But for now, it's time for snacks and champagne, and you guys are not invited. So, why don't you take a plunge and get out of here?
Get on in there, y'all. Mhm. Get on in there. Well, good morning, you guys. This is officially day two at the resort. But as you guys have seen, this resort is absolutely huge. There is so much to do, so much to see. We haven't even uncovered it all ourselves, so I think it's just about time to take you guys along with us while we figure out everything that this resort has to offer. Let's go exploring. We were just following one of the little jungle paths and it led us to this little whirlpool tub. Is this a hot tub?
It is. They say it's between 102 and 104 Fahrenheit. baby. That is a toasty tub. Whoa. Oh, check it out. Okay, that's rad. That's a lot of bubbles. We found a shuffleboard court. I have literally never played this before. So, here goes nothing. Okay. There you go. Oops. Oh, man. You're on the board. Yeah, shuffleboard. We have also noticed that they have several foosball tables around the resort. Of course, you got to have the ping pong table as well.
They even have oversized chess. Is that a move? Yep. Knight to C5. No, that's the knight, the horse. Can I jump over my own guys? Yeah, there you go. You got to stay on the white. No, go to the black behind it. Go behind. There you go. That's a legal move. Y'all, we went to the other side of the resort and we found yet another pool. This is apparently the quiet pool. And you got a nice little ocean view. This is pretty serene.
This resort is within a golf course. I don't know if this is officially a hole or just like a putting green, but it makes it look very magical. Y'all, I also saw from up above that they have a heart-shaped pool that's surrounded by all these little private villas. That's pretty cool. There are eight different restaurants at this resort and we decided to grab brunch at the one with, I think, the best view, y'all. This is the Mediterranean restaurant. I got a lobster omelet. Eric got steak and eggs.
We got pancakes all to ourselves. It's great. This is the cafe and wine bar. In addition to just some absolutely fabulous, delicious-looking pastries and cookies and things like that, they also have a case full of delicious cheeses that you can grab at any point during the day. And I didn't even realize it, but they have a whole wine bar section behind that. So, they have all these awesome wines chilling. And then there's the crepe station, which we have yet to try. Is it crepe-o'clock? I think it might be crepe-o'clock. We got this filled with Nutella in there and powdered sugar on top. Ooh. Now I'm a happy girl.
Well, now I'm a happy girl. Well, I think we spent just enough time looking out at this beautiful blue water. It is just about time to get up in there, y'all. Oh, I'm not getting in the water. I'm getting on the water. Hmm. I wonder what that COULD MEAN. WOOHOO! GUYS, I'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO ride one of these stupid bikes. And now I'm the stupid idiot riding the stupid bike and I'm happy. All right, I think this is actually the way to ocean. This is much nicer. I don't have to do any work. I'm just going to lay here.
Can I come? Get on in here, boy. Oh, [__] ROUND TWO. NAILED IT. WE'VE JUST BEEN CHILLING AT THE POOL ALL AFTERNOON. As you can hear, it's banging. Oh, yeah. We're getting a little hungry though, and we were told that our butler could bring us food to our cabana at the pool. We don't want to leave the party and fun, so I'm going to officially contact our butler for the first time. Hi, we are at our cabana at the pool, and we heard that we might be able to get food brought here. Is that true? Do they have
wings and french fries? Okay, bye. Oh my gosh. That is how you butler right there. Wings and french fries delivered to me? This is awesome. Nice job. Yeah, I've come around on the butler business. I thought it was a little awkward at first, but now I love it. It's the best thing that's ever happened to me. What about this sunset, hey? Yeah, not bad. You got the blue lovely pool out there, and then the pink in the sky, and all the green from the palm trees. Curacao's up in its game. Said, "The heck with the
golden hour, I'm giving you hot pink hour." And it is doing it very well. For dinner tonight, we came to a restaurant called Vincent, after Vincent Van Gogh. But in case you didn't know, Vincent Van Gogh is Dutch, and Curacao is part of the Dutch kingdom. So, there you go. But basically, it seems like the restaurant has just very delicious grilled meats and vegetables. I went with the pork tenderloin, which comes with like a wine reduction sauce, some grilled veggies. I think this is a potato puree. Take this little pork medallion right here. A little bit of this. I stand corrected. I think Eric had the red wine reduction. This might be some sort of apple chutney on there. It is
like sweet and savory. And the pork is just so tender and juicy in there. Eric, I think went with the braised beef again with some potatoes on the side and grilled veggies. It's all been delicious so far. Dessert has arrived. And check this out. They pre-roasted the marshmallows. That's awesome. So cool. Are any of you guys like us? Like we don't typically eat dessert in normal life. If we do, it's like plain yogurt and fruit. But when we are at a resort, we get dessert for every meal. I feel like breakfast, lunch, and dinner. So this should be some little puff pastry. There Oh yeah,
there's cream on the inside. Look at that. They got like that flaky chocolate on the top. Okay. It's basically like a chilled stuffed donut. And it looks like that, too. Yeah. Give me that goo. It's okay. She knows where we are. And she's cool with it. Well, check this out, you guys. We woke up to not breakfast in bed, but breakfast in the pool. The floating breakfast. We have never had this before, y'all. Definitely not. I got to say this is pretty dang nice because usually when we're at a resort, we have to fight the urge to sleep in forever because we have to get out and eat food and do things.
But it's been brought right to our doorstep. So we kind of told them a little bit about what we like for breakfast and they brought everything that we love. A delicious plate of fruits. And then in the middle, tons of little baked goods and breads. And of course, a nice classic eggs and meat breakfast. So the resort has this cool dine out program for different levels of stays where they will bring you to the downtown and you can eat at a restaurant and it's all included. It's essentially like an extension of their restaurants Yeah, which we've never seen a resort do something like that. No, exactly. And the taxi, the round trip is all included. So they have dropped us off in Willemstad, which is the capital of Curacao. We will be back
here though shortly to make a full video. So we probably won't show you too much, but we are going to eat a delicious lunch. This place is fantastic. As you can see it's got this awesome mural behind me with a great big very stocked bar. Yeah, the whole place is well decorated. Maybe it is like Caribbean European like Yeah, it's Caribbean European which actually makes sense for Curacao. I wish you could smell in here. Smells like smoked, just things being smoked.
Not like barbecue but just like things smoked. Well said. Well, that is because the kitchen is open air so you can look right in there and watch them cooking all your food before they serve it to you for you to eat. Yeah, speaking of guys, look at this beautiful pasta dish I got. This is a smoked duck pappardelle. Is that how you say it? Pappardelle? It's pasta with smoked duck. As you can see it's got cashews, some butternut squash on there. I got a cheeky little side salad because then it's healthy. And they recommended the smash burger and they did not steer me wrong because come on, that is just an absolute beautiful looking burger you guys.
My favorite part, the tasting. Get a little duck on there. Switch it back like an American. All right, I think I got a little bit of everything. Mmm, that is so nice and subtle. The flavors are just I mean they just blend perfectly. That smoked duck is delicious. It's got like a pancetta vibe to it and then the roasted squash adds a nice little sweetness. Definitely winning with this one. For any Americans watching, did you catch that Alisha said she's going to switch her fork back to the other hand like an American? That's because that's what Americans do. And I never really thought of that as an American until I
went to England and they all called me out for it. I don't have the I don't know the muscle memory there. So then you switch it. And now look how easily it goes in. If you're an American, you should leave a comment and let us know if you do that or if you've even thought about the fact that you do that. I think it's time to see if this burger will burger. That is an absolutely perfect burger. You know, every time we're traveling, this is the first thing I get when I get back to the USA cuz I can't find a burger like this anywhere.
Not this time. Whoa. It's a wind tunnel out here. Holy moly. Wow, dude. Wasn't expecting that. We're getting just a little taste of Willemstad and uh we like what we see. Also, can you tell the sun is very mean here Curacao? Bring your sunscreen or do like me and an umbrella. But anyways, we are going to meet the shuttle driver. He should be just around the corner here and then take us right
back to the resort. That's about as easy as it gets. Easy. Okay, so we've been putting it off a little bit, but there's also a very large and well-equipped gym here. I have very big plans for dinner tonight including an appetizer, an entree, and a dessert or two. So, it is time to get to work in here. What is that? Are you going to do that? No, I'm scared. You like strap yourself in. Well, this is officially nothing I have ever seen at any gym ever. Where was this when we were working on our tiny house? This would have whipped us into shape.
Well, you guys, tonight is officially the worst night at the resort because it's our last night. So, we're drowning our start sorrows. Drowning our sorrows in steak and wine at their steakhouse here. I actually have whiskey, not wine, but you're drowning your sorrows in wine. But, yeah, we are sad it is our last night, but not our last night in Curaçao. No, we still have a few more days here. We're going to go explore more of the island up north, of course, and do it all on our own. I got the T-bone steak with basically every sauce they have on the side. And apparently, it's not on the menu,
but you can tell them you want a ribeye and they will bring you a delicious, perfectly cooked ribeye. We also got a little baked potato and some brussels sprouts. Ooh. Yeah, that's some medium T-bone over there. I don't know which one to do. Do I do the Maybe I'll just try it on its own. Well, that is just a perfectly cooked piece of meat, y'all. As you can see, it's perfectly medium. It's a little bit of salt and pepper on the outside, but not too much. The meat speaks for itself. It's just perfectly grilled, nice and warm. Yeah.
And just like that, our time here at the Sandals Resort is over. It came and went so fast. It was like living in a fantasy land for 4 days. I know. It was pretty magical. I am definitely going to miss our little cabana, our private punch plunge pool, our butler. Oh my gosh. And of course, it's a beautiful part of Curaçao, beautiful property. The water was just so pristine and blue. One of the coolest pools that we've ever been in. Pretty hard to beat, but we are actually going to be spending a little bit more time in Curaçao and then it is back to reality. And I feel like we're going to have needed this trip because
what we're about to do after Curaçao is going to be a of work. Something we've been putting off for a long time. If you can guess a lot of people have asked about it a lot and we have been basically silent on the issue, but break our silence after Curacao. But anyways, we're just heading to the shuttle right now to head back to town and then we're going to explore Willemstad, the capital of Curacao. We'll see you on the road.
