Everything you know about Hogwarts is a lie.
The wizards, the witches, the
magic, the dark arts, especially the dark arts.
It's all a lie.
Because magic didn't simply appear one day.
It came from somewhere, somewhere
older than Hogwarts, older than the Ministry, older
than the four founders
themselves.
A place history was never meant to remember.
Every spell ever
cast, every curse, every blessing, every miracle draws from the same forgotten
source.
Magic is within all of us, and within all of us is darkness.
Not evil, not hatred, something far, far older.
Something that doesn't care whether you're a hero
or a villain, only
whether you're strong enough to survive.
For over a thousand years, Hogwarts has hidden that truth.
It erased names,
destroyed records, buried entire generations
of mages beneath stone and silence because there was once
another house.
Not the bravest, not the wisest, not the
most ambitious, not the most loyal, but
the house entrusted with protecting all the others.
A house history could never be allowed to remember.
Welcome to Silverwing House.
Chapter 1, zero.
Night had fallen upon us.
It was nearly time for the kill, but Bundelberry kept
holding off his finishing blow.
"Just Just give me a second," he shouted as
his obsidian wand kept going out on him.
"Just give me the damn thing," I told
him as he cowered on the floor in
fetal
position and covered his eyes with his open hand.
"You don't want to give him
an additional five more minutes?" Jessarina mocked as
she held the colossal Fenmore down to the
forest
ground with a simple binding spell.
>> Huh, I do have all day, you know.
>> She yawned.
>> "What did I say?" I bellowed while
grabbing Bundleberry's wand and helping
him up.
"No making fun of the first years on their first day out." I take
one last look at the 50-ft tall wolf-like
beast we spent the past 3
hours fighting.
Its crystal tail still pulsing with magical energy, but I have
been able to suck most of it out with my eclipse light wand.
I turn back to look
at Bundleberry.
"Plus," I look back at Jessarina, "the things we see on a daily basis," I look back at
the Fenmore, "they would have never imagined existed
back at Hogwarts." I
look back at Bundleberry, "or whichever magic school
they came from." Bundleberry gulps.
Umbra volakna.
I incant with Bundleberry's wand.
A whoosh of dark smoke exhales from it. Devour the life of the Fenmore.
I incant another spell, this time with my own wand.
Lux aeterne.
"Here we go again," Jessarina sighs.
The darkness from within the Fenmore
transmutes into light and flies back to me.
This time, flowing into my wand.
>> But But >> Bundleberry begins
to complain while pointing at my wand. "Uh-uh-uh," I
sway my pointer finger to him while still carrying his wand.
"Until you
learn to stop cowering the moment your time
comes, your wand gets zero boost."
Bundleberry smiles.
>> Zero boost?
>> "Or zero boost?" He says while pointing at me.
Yeah, that does it.
I shoot a
light shock spell to his feet.
>> Ow!
>> He shouts.
"Don't push your luck, kid," I beckon.
His face molds into
frustration.
>> Hey, you're only 6 >> feet tall.
I whisper under my breath while holding both wands out.
The
previously absorbed life flows out from my wand
in my left hand and to the tip
of Bundleberry's wand in my right hand.
The light, previously unfiltered and lingering with a
few stretched dark hues, cleanses itself and glows
brighter
than before. It fully flows out of my wand and into a ball of
light at
the end of Bundleberry's wand.
Just for fun, I toss it back onto the tip of my
wand, then back onto the tip of Bundle's wand.
Work on Bundle for now.
>> One year older than me.
>> Bundle finishes.
I point Bundle's wand back at the giant Fenmore and the ball
of light unravels,
stretching towards the enormous beast and returning its life, pure, ridden of the darkness
that consumed it.
"Centrus is not going to like this." Jaserina says as she
releases the binding spell.
"Neither did he the past three times." I add
as we watch the godly wolf return to its feet.
>> You've done this 30 times?
>> Jaserina exclaims.
"Well, uh 31 now." I missed me.
>> I mutter.
>> She scoffs.
>> Bundle laughs.
>> Hey, pay attention.
I dart at Bundle.
>> Yes, sir.
>> He shouts. The Fenmore gets back up, fully healed, and
begins walking
toward us.
The ground shaking, branches falling, leaves actually shattering in in thin air as he walks.
Jaserina punts
and goes to lay on a patch of moss on a giant rock.
Bundle begins to cower, but I grab his hand and put his wand back in
it.
The beast who was eyeing me now eyes Bundle.
"Don't be afraid." I tell him.
"The beast just needs someone to thank." >> Well, then tell him it was you.
I didn't
do anything.
>> Bundle shouts in fear as the Fenmore
reaches a distance of approximately 20
ft away, lowering its head.
"It wasn't my wand that sent the binding
spell." I smile at him.
"Just hold out your hand and he won't bite."
>> I'd be much more understanding if his
jaw wasn't 10 ft long.
>> Bundle cowers.
"Good." I say, still holding out his hand.
"It's only 9 ft
long." The Fenmore lowers his head to
Brunel, and I hold up his hand
to place it on the Fenmore's fur, just
above its now well-hydrated nose.
Brunel's
heavy panting comes to a stop. "Is he dead yet?" Jacereena asks
from a distance, still laying on the moss.
"Just about." I say back as I
watch Brunel's eyes slowly begin to open to
look at the Fenmore.
"It's beautiful." he finally says.
"Exactly." I reply. "A lot of the beasts, entities, and beings
we're sent out to kill are just infected
by darkness or magic, dark magic.
But, sometimes normal magic as well, either from
time, people, or other magic
users. Elves, nymphs, dwarves, dryads, >>
>> Aries, so be it." I get in close to both of them and
whisper because Jacereena has different ideas on this, but I continue.
"Or just
from time.
But, if there's a way to save, especially when they hold this
much beauty in the world, wouldn't it be
a waste to kill them?" I
swear I see a tear leave Brunel's eyes.
He starts to sniffle.
The Fenmore closes its eyes.
>> >> Brunel finally shouts in agreement.
"Yep." He's fully bawling now.
"Good." I smirk.
"That's it for today."
>> Jacereena turns her head to look at us, still laying on the moss-covered rock.
>> So, how are we getting back?
That thing she says, gesturing to the Fenmore.
The Fenmore darts its eyes at her and growls.
She holds up her wand as a threat.
The Fenmore grunts, then turns its head back to Brunel for pets while whimpering.
>> "I know, buddy boy.
Uh are you a boy?
We'll just assume you're a boy.
I'm I'm I'm not going to check.
Um yeah, she's
so mean, isn't she?" Brunel says in a puppy dog voice as he
joyfully
pets the Fenmore." Wasn't he like deathly afraid
of it 5 minutes ago?
Anyways, destroyed our brooms.
Just Serena continues. "Why do you think
I kept him around?" I reply, gesturing
to Fenmore. Just Serena's a
purple glowing eyes go wide.
"I hate it when she does that." I continue.
"I
could have
easily sent him off, but haven't you always dreamt of Don't you"
She cuts me off.
"Don't you dare say fighting." I cut her off. "Zero,
please do
not" "Beautiful, majestic" "Zero" Bunnel perks up to our
conversation.
>> "Fenmore?" I smile at him. "Exactly." I look back at Just Serena, grinning.
>> "Come on, Thumbelina. Don't want to be late for initiation." Her face turns
sour.
"I told you my name is not" "I know, Thumbelina." "Now, come on.
Are your
sensors too" She goes,
"Fine." Then darts her eyes at me.
"But I'm riding shotgun." Then climbs up the
Fenmore as he winces at his burning
pool.
Bunnel comforts him with "My nose and it's all going to be okay,
>> I thinks." My gaze drifts towards the smoke rising from our makeshift camp,
the place we've been forced to call home ever since we were temporarily
displaced from the third floor corridor beneath Hogwarts.
It had been Dumbledore's request.
"For on here" he
had said.
"I require these chambers for the protection of an object of
immeasurable importance." An object of immeasurable
importance.
Sure.
When Albus Dumbledore asks, no one questions.
It wasn't that big of a deal
though.
We spend most of our training, lessons, missions, and quests, if you
want to call it that, outside and away from Hogwarts. When we weren't
fighting beasts, entities, and beings beyond the Order's control and jurisdiction, that is.
The only thing
it does complicate is this year's Silver Wing's first year's initiation process and ceremony, which I
am so looking forward to.
The only other thing I was requested is that we are not
to interact with, communicate with, or interfere in
the life of a new student
arriving this year, Harry Potter, or with any
other Hogwarts student for
as long as he attends this school.
He paused as if getting a glimpse of the future.
Mr.
Potter has a destiny that must remain his own.
It
was a strange request, but it was one that aligned perfectly with the
oldest law our house had ever known anyway.
It goes something like, "A
Silverwing does not wage the wars
of ordinary witches and wizards.
A Silverwing stands where no one else can.
A Silverwing protects the world
from darkness that lies beyond
the reach of ordinary magic." Uh, reason
being, we are a little different.
You'll see when we're back at the camp.
Speaking of
which, you guys ready? I turn back
and ask Jessarina and Bundle,
who are already perched up on top of the Fenmore, ready to go.
Are you ready?
Jessarina
asks Sassily. Bundle nods furiously. "Yeah, dude. You've been standing there for like" He looks at
Jessarina. "How long has it been?"
"Long enough." Jessarina shouts and crosses her arms and looks away,
pouting as usual.
"All right, all right." I laugh then point my wand at
the ground.
"Volate." The tip of my wand glows with white light, levitating me
smoothly off the ground and up to the
top of Fenmore's neck.
We'll call him Fenmore for now, where
Jessarina and Bundle were
sitting. "Show-off." Jessarina mutters, rolling her eyes. "Fumbleena." I chuckle. "Would you"
She begins,
holding her wand up to my face, a
giant flame and black ash smoking off the
tip.
"Okay, okay." I exclaim,
holding back my laugh. I sense Bundle in the
back giggling, too.
Fenmore even
purrs? What mythical family do Fenmores belong to again? Anyways, no need to get
violent, I say to Jessarina, lifting the tip
of my wand to hers, letting
it grab the flame and absorb it.
I try my best to smile at her kindly, her
purple
eyes glaring and her pointed ears scrunched back. I hate it
when you do that.
Also, your smile looks like a serial killer.
Jessarina scoffs
again to the side. I laugh. Who knows, maybe I am.
She darts her eyes at me.
Boondel laughs.
I dart my eyes at him.
W- wait, you're not being serious, are you? He asks
shyly, the
laughter fading away.
Who knows, guess we'll find out at initiation.
I grin at
him.
He gulps yet again.
Then, I extend my wand out, seeing it on Fenris.
A bond of glowing
light extends
from my wand, creating a harness around Fenmore. All
right, guys, hold on, I tell them.
It's going to be a bumpy
ride.
Uh, we can grab this?
Boondel asks, looking at the harness made of light.
Only one way to find out, I tell him.
I then bend down and whisper in Fenmore's
ear. All right, buddy, just follow my lead
and we'll be there in no
time.
I tug the magic harness toward the direction of the camp, and he turns with
me. Huh, Fenmore's a smarter than I thought. Then, Fenmore
crouches
low, his crystal tail flashing once.
Uh, I I guess that means he understands?
Oh
wait, oh oh gods, no.
Fenmore!
I shout.
What What's going on?
Boondel shouts from the back.
Isn't it obvious?
Jessarina says nonchalantly while looking at her fingernails. I turn to Boondel, who's
now grabbing the
harness of light with his life.
He is about to jump.
Then, Fenmore's tail
flashes
bright enough to blind all of us, loading up like a Godzilla
spine, and he launches forward in a single
explosive bound, clearing the
forest floor >>
>> as though gravity had forgotten him.
Well, at least we'll get back to camp in no time, I think to myself.
"As for
Boondle, well, initiation is going to be a
whole beast." Then Jessarina turns to me as
we
fly
through the air, emotionless. Centrus just sent me a mind
whisper. My incredulous smile from flying with
the giant wolf of my
dreams immediately fades.
"He is assigning you as an Ord Ward for this
year's first years.
You're going to be guiding Boondle's team, starting with
initiation." I slowly look back at Boondle, who's
right behind us now, smiling,
mouth wide
open as giant slobs of venomous slobber splash back at his
face.
I saw it.
Ah.
End chapter one.
Who wants chapter two?
Let me know in the comments.
Initiation is coming.
Now, then, who wants to be in Silverwing house?
Curious about that, too.
Let me know in the comments and share
this with your friends to initiate
them into Silverwing, too. All right, see you all soon. Silverwing
out.
Hope you enjoyed.
