W USA9 weather impact is sponsored by Morgan and Morgan. Good Friday afternoon. I'm meteorologist Caitlyn McGrath. We have almost made it to the weekend and we do have some weather changes to talk about as we head through the next several days. Starting with just a touch more humidity today. Due points are in the mid to low 60s, which is still comfortable, just higher than it's been over the past couple of days. Temperatures will also be a few degrees warmer as well, heading back into the upper 80s as we head throughout the afternoon with a blend of sunshine and clouds. And we don't have as much of a breeze as we've had over the past couple of days either. So, not feeling quite as comfortable, but still a very

nice day. And then eventually later this evening, wind shifts coming in from the southsoutheast. And that's going to help set the stage for a little bit of a stickier forecast for this weekend. But temperatures do stay mild, especially once we see that wind shift out of the south. will still be in the low 80s around 10:00 tonight before falling back into the 60s and 70s by Saturday morning. So, another cooler, comfortable start to the day with low 60s from Martinsburg down into Front Royal, 63 in Frederick, 65 in Leburg. We'll stay in the mid to upper 60s in southern Maryland and right around 72 degrees in DC. Now, as we head into the weekend, temperatures do get a degree or two

hotter for Saturday. Definitely going to feel like August for the first day of the new month tomorrow with temperatures in the low 90s, higher humidity, partly cloudy skies, only the lowest of low chance for an isolated shower or storm. Sunday though, we do bring some showers and storms back into the forecast. That will also keep our temperatures just a few degrees less hot. Still right around average. 89 degrees is where we should be for the start of August, but not as hot as it will be on Saturday. So today, keep in mind due points are still in the low 60s. So that's comfortable. But by tomorrow, they're back in the mid to upper 60s. And that's when you start to feel it a little bit more. And then by

Sunday into next week, due points will be hovering right around the 70° mark, which does start to feel a little bit sticky and we'll have more of a heat index factor to the forecast. Temperatures will feel about 5 degrees hotter than they actually are. So if you're heading out to training camp tomorrow, it is back together day. Tickets are sold out, but if you were lucky enough to get a ticket, the gates open at 7:30. Practice starts at 8:30. and typically lasts about an hour and a half to two hours. So temperatures will wind up in the low 80s by the time

things are wrapping up, but keep in mind going to feel a little bit stickier than that. So I would tack on just a few degrees to factor in a little bit of a heat index for Saturday. Now by Sunday, we've got showers back. So we'll time it out using futurecast. Futurecast does try and keep some pretty persistent rain out toward the mountains throughout much of the day on Sunday from the morning into the afternoon. So you could see some of those showers in spots like Front Royal, Laorray, Leburg, and Frederick. Closer to 95, we will have a bit more sunshine. And it's not going to be an exceptionally wet day. We're talking about a few passing showers, especially as we head throughout the

afternoon and evening. But most areas do look to stay dry until later at night. This is 6:00. We'll start to see a few showers and storms in our southernmost areas, moving closer to the metro by say 8 n:00. And risk for severe weather on Sunday is very, very low. Couple rumbles of thunder, maybe some pockets of moderate to heavy rain, but it's the type of day where I would keep your outdoor plans. Know it's going to be a little bit cloudier and you may briefly have to move inside, especially if you've got plans later in the evening, but for the most part, we'll just kind of see those passing waves of showers on Sunday. Now, as we head into next week, Monday does look like a wetter day. I do

think we'll see some more shower activity around for Monday. And then after that, the rest of the week is pretty much just looking like a typical summer forecast. hotter, a bit more humid with some daily scattered showers and storms. So, not going to be a wash out any day, but we will kind of have those daily rain chances, which we could still use. We still have moderate to severe drought conditions across the region. And those clouds and showers will also keep our temperatures a little below average. We'll stay in the mid to upper 80s through Wednesday. But then the second half of the week, as we start to dry things out as we head into the weekend as well, temperatures do look to warm up a good bit. We're talking low

90s as we head through Thursday and into the following week. So, our temperatures over the next several days. All in all, not that bad. Little bit hotter today and tomorrow before we're back in the 80s for Sunday with those daily shower and storm chances sticking around into much of next week. I do think Monday looks like the wetest day. Still, again, not a terrible day to be outside. There will be breaks in the action, but if it's not raining, it still looks mostly cloudy. And then as we head toward the rest of the week, we'll just have those daily scattered shower and storm chances with otherwise partly cloudy skies.
