Let's find out which watermelon toothpaste is the best. The most popular versus Back Lab Toothpaste. Every paste gets scored on three things today. Taste, ingredients, and cleaning. Up first, this adult watermelon toothpaste. Colgate Max Fresh Watermelon Blast. It's disclosing time. For our toothbrush, we got this S-shaped brush. Back Lab. Look at this, the toothpaste has breath strips in the paste. It looks cool, but at what cost? And we'll dig into that after we brush. I can't believe they tried to copy my watermelon mint flavor. Let's see how we compare.

This is Dental Digest, let's get brushing. Oh, wow. I kind of like this toothbrush. This toothpaste is foaming up way too much. That's because of the SLS. Okay, it's time to rinse and rate. Woo. There it is. That aftertaste is gnarly. It tastes literally like medicine. For taste, this toothpaste gets a two. Let's see how well it cleans. It actually cleans pretty good, plus it has fluoride, so we'll rank it an eight. As a dentist and as a dad, I read every toothpaste ingredient so you know what's inside. Toothpaste with fluoride has a warning label saying, "If swallowed, please call poison control." Because fluoride isn't meant to be swallowed. And unfortunately, kids typically

swallow their toothpaste. And if they swallow too much when their teeth are forming, they get these white spots called dental fluorosis. Now, what's inside the rest of this tube? Well, it has SLS, a super strong foaming agent that can cause canker sores, and red 40 to give it that vibrant color to look like candy. It has fluoride so it can protect, but everything else inside is straight junk. So, the ingredients get a one. So, this toothpaste totals up to 11. Round two. Now, it's time for the kids' version. Colgate Watermelon Burst. It smells like a candle. It's disclosing time.

Let's check the before results. [screaming] For our toothbrush, we got this triple bristle extra soft toothbrush. It's designed to clean all three sides at once, top, inside and outside. I've never seen a toothpaste looks like it's glowing in the dark during the day. This stuff kind of looks toxic. And smells super fake. This is Dental Digest. Let's get brushing. This is gross. They expect kids to brush with this? The toothbrush is pretty cool. It kind of feels like it's hugging all your teeth at once. Do I like it? Not really.

Fun to use once, but I wouldn't want to use it more than one time. The watermelon flavor is super artificial, but at least it's got a nice little sweetness to it. Let's rinse and review. Nice sweetness to it, but there's no minty aftertaste. So, my teeth don't even feel clean. That artificial watermelon taste is gross. We're giving it a six. Now, let's check out how well it cleans. Cleaned up nicely. But this aftertaste does not make me excited to grab that toothpaste ever again. They add fluoride to protect your teeth. So, for the cleaning score, we'll give it an eight. Taking a closer look at the ingredients, they made a kids

toothpaste with two food colorings, not one, but two. Blue one and yellow five. That's what gives it that toxic looking color. I don't know about you, but this tube looks like a bottle of soap and they use a super strong foaming agent that's found in soap. It's called SLS. It's so strong it can literally cause canker sores. So, we'll give watermelon burst ingredient score is a solid one, adding up to a solid 15. And you already know I refuse to add any of that nasty junk into our Fat Club toothpaste. We use a foaming agent made from a coconut. Coconut, yeah. Don't worry, Fat Club doesn't taste like coconuts. We're about to taste it real soon, but before we do that, round three.

Let's rank and review Hello Fresh watermelon toothpaste. Let's check the before results. For our toothbrush, we got this Pro White and Spin brush. It's actually pretty heavy. Turn it on and take a look at those bristles go. Back lab. Finally, a natural looking toothpaste. This is Dental Digest. Let's get brushing. There's not much flavor here, but the flavor that I do get is pretty nice. It's a gentle natural watermelon. There's also no minty spice, so kids will probably like it. Flavor-wise, we'll give it a six. Let's check the after result. It cleans okay, but a huge deal breaker is it's missing fluoride

and nano hydroxyapatite. So, there's no ingredients in here that protects your teeth. For the cleaning score, we're going to give it a one because it doesn't protect your teeth. Now, when taking a closer look at the ingredients, on the front of the box it says no dyes, but it still uses titanium dioxide, pigment that does nothing for your teeth. It literally just makes the toothpaste look white. It got a ban from food in 2022 because they couldn't rule out it causes damage to your DNA. So, what the heck is it doing in a kids toothpaste that you're supposed to brush with two times a day every day for two minutes. For ingredients, we'll give it a seven. For our total score, we're giving it a 14.

Round four. So, after five years of tasting every toothpaste on the planet, I found a major issue. You can have a toothpaste that protects, but it's filled with junk, or a toothpaste that's clean that protects nothing and doesn't get you excited to brush again. Nobody gives you both. So, I built one that does. And most importantly, makes brushing fun by tasting absolutely incredible. Let's find out if our Back Lab toothpaste will clean my stained teeth. It's disclosing time. To match our watermelon mint toothpaste, we got a Back Lab watermelon mint electric toothbrush. Back Lab. Finally, a beautiful natural looking toothpaste.

Mm, the smell is amazing and I cannot wait to brush. This is Dental Digest. Let's get brushing with Back Lab. Mm, right away we get a delicious gentle mint flavor, followed by an incredible natural watermelon flavor. And then it finishes off with a delicious sweetness wanting me to brush longer. Let's rinse and review. After you rinse, you get a nice combo of minty sweet freshness. Wow, my breath feels so fresh and clean after brushing with this. This is the best tasting toothpaste in the world. It's not even close. The flavor gets a perfect 10. Let's check the after results.

Wow, now that is clean and my smile looks brighter already. And this isn't me just hyping my own toothpaste. We sent our toothpaste to an independent third-party lab to prove that it gently cleans and whites. That lab proved backlab whitens and gently polishes. All while staying way less abrasive than popular sensitive toothpaste people already reach for. The cleaning score gets a solid 10. Here's how we made this toothpaste so incredible. We used nanohydroxyapatite, which is the same mineral your teeth are literally made out of. It strengthens your teeth without using fluoride, xylitol to make it taste sweet and also starve cavity-causing bacteria, aloe vera and green tea extract to help calm and

soothe your gums because I know you're probably not flossing as much as you should be, zinc citrate to neutralize the bad breath-causing bacteria, and potassium chloride to help calm the nerves inside your teeth so you can eat ice cream all summer long without feeling those zings. What's not in here is SLS, dyes, titanium dioxide, sulfates, parabens, and no fluoride. It's the cleanest tube with protection and incredible flavor. Ingredients and cleaning score both get a 10. Total score for backlab is 30. Backlab toothpaste is the obvious winner today and it's officially live. You can buy it right now on backlab.com or clicking the shopping links down below. Hopefully it's still in stock, but if it's sold out, keep a lookout because I'm working

really hard to keep it on the shelf because it's my goal to fight the number one chronic illness in children and adults, which is cavities. And the easiest way to lower your risk is to simply brush more. But if your toothpaste tastes like medicine, you're not going to want to brush for a full 2 minutes or look forward to brushing. And that's the whole reason why baklava exists. It's a toothpaste that actually tastes incredible, has clean ingredients, and is formulated by a dentist, made in America. Stop brushing with junk. Grab baklava and let's get gloving. Thank you so much for brushing with me. And as always, smile on. Ciao.
