Alex Crook here, joining you all the way from the Big Apple, New York City. We are in Buddy's Sports Bar building up to England against Mexico in the Azteca in the early hours of Monday morning, UK time. You can probably hear the Drive boys doing their show live behind me, but while the World Cup rolls on, there is plenty of business being done in the transfer market. Let's get right into it with the very latest episode of the window. Let's start with a bit of breaking news this lunchtime. It involves Andre Santos, the Chelsea midfielder. Manchester United, we understand at talkSPORT, have added him to an extensive list of midfield targets. Of course, Casemiro has left at the end of his contract. Manuel Ugarte,
who was to be sold to provide funds to Michael Carrick for that rebuild, he is out with a serious injury suffered here at the World Cup. So, that's put a bit of a spanner in the works. They were interested in Aliou Anderson, but he's completed his British record move to rivals Manchester City. United pulling out of the race for Matheus Fernandes after Tottenham agreed an 85 million pound guaranteed payment with relegated West Ham. That's That's why they're now diverting attention elsewhere, and Andre Santos one of the names on the list. We're told there's been no club-to-club talk so far, but certainly Andre Santos has been sounded out, albeit via intermediaries. And the message coming
out of Chelsea is while they're not actively looking to sell, they would be open to offers. So, Andre Santos and Manchester United one to watch. Newcastle have been linked with him as well. With Sandro Tonali joining Tottenham and Bruno Guimarães potentially on his way out of St. James' Park, they need midfield reinforcements, too. Let's move on to one of the teenage stars of the last Premier League season. Bournemouth's Junior Stanislas had a fantastic campaign, firing the Cherries into Europe for the first time in their history. He has lots of potential suitors, Arsenal amongst them. Tottenham preparing
a potential 85 million pound bid for Junior Kroupi to try and test Bournemouth's resolve that he is not for sale this summer. That's the message coming out of the Vitality that both him and Alex Scott will stay. We know Bournemouth in contract negotiations with Scott having received an inquiry from Arsenal, but Tottenham and Kroupi seems to be bubbling under and this will be Tottenham continuing a massive summer of expenditure having already paid 85 million for Fernandes, 100 million for Tonali, 50 odd million for Jan Paul van Hecke at Brighton. And they've signed Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi on free transfers as well. So, it's basically going to be a whole new team for Roberto De Zerbi next season. And no surprise
they're interested in Kroupi. They want another forward player. That would probably see Richarlison depart. As I say, the message coming out the South Coast is that Kroupi is not for sale this summer. Back to Newcastle. I've mentioned already a big summer for Eddie Howe in terms of outgoings and incomings. One player definitely on the Toon's radar is someone who's done really well for Switzerland at this World Cup, their midfielder Yoane Massamba. Plays for Freiburg in the Bundesliga. Newcastle preparing, we understand, their first official bid for the Swiss international. They're going to have competition from elsewhere and we've seen it already this summer with Liverpool hijacking the deal for Victor
Muñoz, the Osasuna winger. So, there's a bit of caution at St. James' Park, but this is definitely one to keep a track on. I think he'd be a brilliant addition for Eddie Howe as he tries to rebuild that team. I mean, lost Anthony Gordon, lost Tonali, potentially losing Guimarães as well. There should be funds to spend, but like last summer, it is a struggle at times to convince players to make that move to the northeast. One of the surprise packages in the Premier League season, undoubtedly, Keith Andrews' Brentford. They had a brilliant campaign under their rookie manager following departure of Thomas Frank to Tottenham. They're looking to build on that. And one player who is on his way
to the Gtech Community Stadium is Burnley's Jayden Anthony. A 15 million pound fee has been agreed. There's another 2 million pounds in add-ons, so it's a 17 million pound package in total. He'll undergo a medical later this week. So Jayden Anthony swapping relegated Burnley for Brentford. And you would expect Matthew Benham, the ambitious owner there, to back Andrew this summer having come so close to qualifying for Europe. And on the subject of Newcastle, big news reaching me as we are recording this episode of the window. They've got their Anthony Gordon replacement. They missed out on Munoz, as I mentioned, to Liverpool. The 20-year-old Ivorian Bassimana Traore is on his way from Hoffenheim. So Newcastle have their man, their first completed
deal this summer. They're big boots to fill, aren't they, with Anthony Gordon making that 70 million pound move to Barcelona. So you are bang up-to-date with all the latest movers and shakers in the transfer market. Don't forget we are recording at least one episode, if not two, of the window every single day of this World Cup here in the USA. Stay tuned to the talkSPORT YouTube channel, and of course talksport.com for the very latest.
