Thank you, Chris. Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed an executive order today extending the work of the Michigan Gun Violence Prevention Task Force. TV5's James Felton has more on the blueprint created for addressing gun violence here in Michigan. James, today, Governor Gretchen Whitmer called gun violence a uniquely American problem. In this country, and only in our country, guns are the number one killer of young people. It's estimated that in 2025, an American was killed by a firearm every 11 minutes. That's a child, a brother, a cousin, a neighbor, a friend, a loved one gone every 11 minutes.

Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed an executive order that extends the work of the Michigan Gun Violence Prevention Task Force. Whitmer credits the task force for creating a blueprint for addressing gun violence in Michigan. The executive order gives the task force the ability to continue the work and implement these recommendations. Banning ghost guns, requiring waiting periods for firearm purchases, investing more in school safety, supporting community violence intervention efforts, strengthening victim support services, and educating the public on safe firearm storage. I'm grateful for their work and the executive order that I'm signing today will help put their recommendations into practice and

continue their work into this year. Whitmer believes these recommendations will save lives. Back to you.
