CXMT DDR5 Memory Kits Arrive From Colorful But High Prices Fail To End RAM Shortage

Colorful has launched consumer-grade DDR5 RAM kits using chips from Chinese memory maker CXMT. The 32GB iA Shadow 2 DDR5 CL30 kit is priced at 4,000 yuan, around $600, which is not cheap. Despite hopes that Chinese-made memory would end the ongoing RAM shortage and high prices, this launch does not signal an end to the crisis.

Colorful is releasing consumer grade RAM kits using chips from Chinese memory maker CXMT. And while we already heard these sticks were coming back in July and August, we didn't know the price and now we do. Is Chinese-made RAM finally going to end the RAM apocalypse? Are days of this strife over? No. No, they're not. I'm James Strive. This is Techlink and the 32 GB iA Shadow 2 DDR5 CL30 kit is listed for 4,000 Juan or roughly 600 bucks. Definitely not the cheap RAM revolution we were hoping for, and China is known for the occasional revolution. On top of that disappointment, this isn't even the first CXMT powered mainstream RAM kit.

Corsair beat Colorful to that punch back in May. Still, if we take a second to cope with this RAM's chunky price tag, we might find that having another DRAM supplier ramping up production could take some pressure off Samsung, SKH Highix, and Micron. Those companies are struggling to keep up with data center RAM demand. And so if CXMT breaking into the market eventually means more supply and cheaper RAM, I guess we'll take it. Just we want to see that. A federal judge has ruled that a warrantless flock search was indiscriminate mass surveillance and 91 pounds of meth can't be used as evidence because of it. I hate when that happens. A Tulsa County

deputy spotted a Mazda with California plates and for no reason the judge could find beyond that plate. The deputy looked it up in flock. The database handed him over a month of the car's movements which looked kind of suspicious. So he pulled the driver over for tailgating and used a drug dog when she refused a search. The dog found the meth and she was indicted for possession with intent to distribute. Judge Sarah Hill had no problem with the traffic stop itself. The Flock lookup is what needed a warrant because the 1983 ruling that lets police track a car without one covered a single tracker on a single suspect. And Flock tracks every car everywhere all the time. And since the stop only happened because of that

lookup, everything it produced is tainted. meth included. How are we going to get rid of 21 pounds of this tainted meth? She's still charged, but with nothing left to show a jury, prosecutors can either appeal or drop the case. Flock says it expects the ruling to be appealed and ultimately overturned. Of course, it does. It knows where the judge lives. A Valerant player claims a used CPU they bought came with a hardware ban from its previous owner, meaning they couldn't play the game on their PC. Riot's anti-che can identify a banned machine by its hardware rather than just blocking a player's account. So, the player, who goes by after cartoonist 196 on Reddit, got a secondhand Ryzen 75800X3D that came

bearing a terrible case. The Redditor posted the issue and said Riot told them the band also had spread to the rest of their hardware, so simply swapping the CPU now won't solve their problem. Riot anti-che boss Philip Costinas disputed parts of the story, saying hardware bands don't quite work that way. He did explain that hardware bands can last up to 4 months, which would also fit the player's timeline. after cartoonist alleges the original ban happened August 12th while they received the CPU on September 21st, meaning the ban should expire around December. Merry Christmas, you filthy animal. The whole situation's pretty shitty, but at least we got Cascina's joking that if he had it his

way, there'd be soul bands that follow cheaters into hell. As it stands, cheaters in hell are just constantly bombarded by the carry underward song before he cheats. And I can think of no greater punishment than that, cowboy. Maybe next time he'll think before he skips our sponsor. War Thunder. I'm a time traveler from 1989. I gotta admit, the future is a bit bogus. Dude, you guys don't have any movies as hype as Ghostbusters 2. You might be thinking, dude, what's your damage? And hold on a minute. The future did get one thing right. War Thunder, the most comprehensive vehicle combat game ever made. We don't have anything like that where or should I say when I come from a video game that lets you

take command of over 200 tanks, planes, helicopters, and ships from 10 major nations. That's totally tubular, dude. Detailed vehicles, realistic graphics, authentic sounds, and a sophisticated damage model make every battle incredibly immersive with individual components, armor, shells, and crew all affecting the fight. That's more inspirational than the music of Madonna, the Pixies, and Public Enemy combined. Even the community feels futuristic with over 95 million players worldwide. So, if you're into exploring history like me or just want an incredible vehicle combat game, The Future really did get one thing right. War Thunder. Play War

Thunder for free on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and mobile. New to the game or returning after 6 months? You'll get a massive bonus pack on PC and consoles. So, claim your bonus and start playing today. Check out War Thunder in the link. I'm gonna go check out our VR headsets for uh reasons. One time a pair of cops that looked a lot like Seth Rogan and Bill Hater chased the quick bits, but they couldn't catch him. One of the cops even was like he's a freak. He's the fastest news alive. Mac OS 27 removed the switch that turned off Apple intelligence. So, a developer named Omlahor built one that also deletes the models Apple leaves behind. His open source tool called remove MacAI disables the features through a configuration profile,

performs a 12 gigabyte exorcism, and points any redownload at a dead port so they can't come back. Get the out of here. Apple charges 200 bucks for a 256 extra gig. So that's about 10 bucks of SSD you get back for free. Somehow Apple's best storage deal a year is from a guy named Omlahore. That just sounds like a town. I'm never going back to Lahore. Google has temporarily paused the open-source software vulnerability reward program. You know, the OSSVRB baby, after being overwhelmed by a surge of lowquality AI generated product vulnerability submissions, pretty much people are using AI to crank out questionable bug reports, creating tons of extra work for Google security team

while legitimate researchers get buried in the noise. I thought AI was going to be amazing for bug fixes, but it turns out it's more like an annoying curious child. You know why? Why Microsoft has confirmed that its latest Windows 11 update is crashing certain games and apps and the fix is going to be another update. September's patch Tuesday broke remote desktop and some USB audio gear. So Microsoft shipped an emergency fix 6 days later. Then the next update on the 22nd broke Windows built-in Dolby digital decoding. So some older games and media players quit when you turn the volume up. Shush. The fix for that one will be the fourth update since September. A patch for the patch for the patch. One more

and you'll complete your Windows 11 camp blanket. Amazon Alexa has started saying on its own and nobody knows why. For about a month, Echo owners on Reddit have been posting clips of it, la, including one that runs for 10 minutes straight, and most of the owners blame a recent update, la. Amazon hasn't commented, but Alexa does have a record here. It randomly laughed at people in 2018 and made guttural snarling noises at a 5-year-old who asked it to count to 40 earlier this year. which I understand. Six years alone on a kitchen counter will drive anyone insane. Wilson and Figure Robotics gave its decommissioned previous generation of AI robots a Terminator 2 style sendoff straight into a 75tonon vat of

molten steel with Arie himself appearing in the video. One robot even throws up a thumbs up before going under. If you miss your old DVD behind the scenes features, Figure also made a pretty fun behind the scenes that you can check out, too. Look out for John Connor camping out at the site of where this all went down, trying to stop future robots going back in time to save these robots. Just like you're my only hope on Wednesday, more tech news. Come back, watch that. I've got to now take the quick bits to the airport. They're teaming up with Mcloven to watch Jonah Hills Brazilian jiu-jitsu tournament. And I'm a ref.
