Right, there's a hare just up ahead here. So, I'm just going to creep forward really slowly. So, this hare seems fairly relaxed now. It's only about 30 m away. But, the angle's slightly wrong now. So, I'm just going to creep forward a little bit more. And hopefully, I'll stay there just grazing. So, this is absolutely amazing. The hare's less than 20 m away. So, it's got completely used to me being here. It's busy feeding at the moment. What I'm waiting for is it to start grooming. And those are the moments I really love to be able to capture.
I'd really struggle to get this close to the hare on foot. But, being in the car using this window mount system it's just incredible. So, the hare's just moved around to here. And that's the beauty of this system. I can just move it along the rail here. And then get straight back onto this hare. Let me show you what helped me get this amazing footage of the hares. So, I've got in here quite an interesting bit of kit. Tragopan have sent me this. And it's a huge window mount. So, I'm going to give this a try out this evening. Here we go.
Got a few parts. It's quite a big window mount, but we're going to see how quick we can get this fitted. So, I've tried out loads of different window mounts in the past. And they've all been a bit sort of flimsy. So, this is going to be really interesting to try all this. You know, I've tried bean bags on the window. But all these other systems have quite a limiting factor. So, I'm going to be intrigued to see how this thing works. That's magnetic onto there. Push that in. Well, this is relatively straightforward to put on. Certainly the biggest window mount I've ever had. But I think it might be the best. Let's try this out. So, I can fix the tripod directly onto there. Or, I've got this little attachment here
where I can put my uh video head in here. Just tying that down, then we're ready to go. But, the reason that I was so interested in this particular uh invention, in a way, is because I can then move the camera backwards and forwards. Cuz when you're sat in there on your seat, you're very much restricted. If an animal moves behind you, it's very hard to follow it if your bean bag or your window mounts out here. But, I can slide this back, lock it off, and then get my camera onto it. So, I think the next stage is just to tighten all these bits down, and then get a camera on, and see what we can film. Right. Yeah, I mean, that's that's solid. I mean, you can you shake the car with this.
Incredible. Right, I'm all set now. Time to get down the valley and see what we can find. Being in the car, using this window mount system, it's just incredible.
