roll the intro and get on with this awesome bite-sized just before we get into it we want to give you information about our giveaway today thanks to skill share we are giving away two months free trial for their online learning platform to the first 500 people who click the link below most of the skills that we picked up in order to film and produce our YouTube channel was learned thanks to the professionals over at skill share so if you don't end up renting it up took to the hay at the very least you can

start building your skills to help improve your knowledge base right now so you've been watching series for seeing us discover Sri Lanka in our very own tooktook or maybe you haven't seen any of the episodes and you're simply just researching the process yourself if you need any more convincing or if you need more material to help convince your friends to join you on this adventure this video right here this one is for you before we give you all the details of exactly how we rented the tooktook let's first point out the most important question why should you render tooktook in Sri Lanka well here are top five reasons why you must Rena tooktook here in sri lanka first it alocs true adventures there are

literally dozens of adventures that landed in our laps because our little took to let us down roads that we simply would never have gone down no I'll keep going though oh this in turn meant we were able to have adventure after adventure that not even the most seasoned travelers would ever replicate since to be honest we never really knew where we would go in anyway Wow right now but you must have a real appetite for this type of travel and the willingness to go with the flow so if this really speaks to you then you are probably here to just not visit the same old Instagram spots as everyone else right we can guarantee that renting it tooks up will unlock at the very least one true adventure per day as you explore

any island number two it's safe that's right it's much safer to drive your own tuk we researched a lot about Sri Lanka before we came here and the thing that kept coming up was the real hazards of the public transports mainly the local buses okay see that bus right there don't ever go near them or on them or anything if you come to Sri Lanka these buses are just like flying down the roads whipping around corners cruising around cars into oncoming traffic and they go faster than any other car or motorcycle on the street having our own tuk-tuk meant we could avoid the busy roads take much more scenic quiet route as well as go at our very own slow and steady pace and we could avoid those crazy buses at our own

leisure of course it must be said that to improve safety you must avoid driving at night never drink and drive and always be aware of your surroundings we said we weren't gonna drive at night but the first day that we're driving I'm already driving at night this is not good and that I survive this it's their cars everywhere having multiple drivers will also help because whenever you get tired you can easily get out swap drivers or rest on the side of the road and regain your energy and before you know it you can be back on the road loving a life number three is freedom yes the freedom that the tooktook offers you is priceless you can go wherever you want whenever you want and there's no need to depend

on others or to wait for other people in your tour group if you need to just pull over and find a camping spot before dark no problems we parked up behind this lovely ladies house set up camp for the night and then the next morning woke up early to continue exploring it really is pure freedom to be able to see Sri Lanka at your very own speed for it's so much fun is such a simple word but literally every day in this tuk-tuk was nothing short of fun and pure enjoyment from our very first to our very last day everywhere where you go and especially the north all the locals were so amazed to see foreigners driving around and what is seen as a poor man's vehicle they open up to you and embrace you with open arms and smiles

you can also network with other travelers much easier since rocking up to a ton or guesthouse in your very own hook tube is certainly a good topic to start a conversation so you will make more friends and in turn get more travel tips and company as well you can also bless your music on the speakers now since you to build copywriters if you let you hear any of it but believe us we seriously had some great moments in the tooktook blasting our favorite tunes singing along and soaking up the Sun the entire way now what can be more fun than having incredible views all day every day so screw the scenic trains and forget about the hot air balloon rides nothing beats driving around in the

mountains and coasts of Sri Lanka and having nothing between you and the nature so that if you see any beautiful spots appear you can instantly stop park up go explore and have endless fun Plus and by no means least is number five it's the cheapest way to travel and that's especially important for us here in the bunch of tears that's right apart from safe heat triking everywhere this is the cheapest way to travel the rental agreement will also agree with your wallets because depending on your rental period and the amount of people sharing your tuk-tuk prices can be from anywhere as little as $5 to $15 per day since we rented for one month as a three hour rental price was only five dollars per

person per day that doesn't include the fuel or the license fee but at that price you can't believe how quickly you can make that money back just one day in the town called Ella for example we use the tuk-tuk six times in just one day to drive around and explore the town and since taxis and the tuk tuks are really pricey in these touristy towns we were to have easily have spent $40.00 just getting around on that one day so in some cases you can cut your daily travel costs by 60% that is why you should rent a tuk-tuk in Sri Lanka but at this point I'm sure you're sold however we keep it real here so we're not just gonna leave you with that we're gonna walk you through the entire process of how to rent it took and

what to expect and don't worry the process is easy fun and the team over at took rental will take care of all of the red tape which one is gonna be ours we decided to go with tuk-tuk rental calm and the first thing you're going to need other than a big sense of adventure is a driving a license it can be a motorbike license or a car license but this is a must-have item if you want to rent from tuk rental calm they will use your license to apply for the proper paperwork so that you can drive legally on the Sri Lankan roads one or two weeks prior to your trip is the recommended time you'll need to get your photocopied licenses to the guys so that you can get your very own Sri Lankan

driving license handed to you along with all of the relevant insurance to keep you on the roads yes because tuk-tuk rental also provide full insurance for third party accidents so you can have one less worry when you're on the roads we of course recommend that and get your own travel insurance to go along side because god knows what can happen outside of the tuk-tuk and it's especially important to always remember to have child insurance when you're overseas and so you receive all of your paperwork your licenses and your insurance but now it's time for the safety briefing where you sit down and watch a very detailed video all about the two do's and what not to do is when on the roads of Sri Lanka everything from Road etiquette advice

with driving styles as well as all things took maintenance related because your tuk-tuk is no doubt going to be put off road yard time and pesky sand mud and all sorts of tropical island foliage can end up clogging up the pipe to the engines and all the little nooks and crannies next it's time for you to meet your took the first time that we laid eyes on Zita it was love at first sight with her bright green and yellow frame along with her sleek black interior she was perfect and we were shown all of her hidden secrets we were shown how to change the oil where to fill her up with petrol how to flip on the reserve tank which was definitely very useful because we use that more than once and just all of the

general maintenance procedures that we needed to know once you're familiar with the inner workings it's time for your driving lesson yes they don't just throw you the keys and leave you to fend for yourself on the crazy roads of Colombo that baptism of fire is put out with an hour of panicked stress and that feeling of why am i doing this in a very long day the lesson can be a bit scary but don't worry the instructors are patient informative and kind and they will ease any doubts or fears that you may have and after about an hour on the quiet roads figuring out your tooktook I promise

that you will feel more confident and then it'll be time to try the busy main roads it's like a clutch of a car but you're driving a motorcycle I've never driven a manual motorcycle before it's weird but it's fun ok switch gear we know it can be a bit scary at first but we promise you'll pick it up and thankfully we passed our lesson with flying colors and we are sure that you probably want to see who's involved it took to rental so let's hand over to wheat sir one of the men behind this incredible company so he can tell you a little bit more about the ethos and the history of this company spreading the truth immediately most you take what we do seriously and make sure you driving

the scene is Sri Lankan driving license and eventually purpose insurance it's all fun till something goes wrong and you want to just make sure everything is covered so as you can see the whole process is very professional everyone's safety is top priority and that's it you have now got your everything you need to know guide on how and why to rent miss tuktuk in Sri Lanka we hope you enjoyed this video if you did make sure you share it with your travel buddies like this video to help support this channel and of course head over to our channel if you're new and start watching series four because every week we have a new episode documenting our amazing road trip around the entire country we would also like to take this
