just when you thought that Google was done being aggressive about its Hardware think again we didn't just get a very early launch of the pixel 9 series and we also got a foldable watch buds you name it thing is given how the company launched all these new devices extremely early it's obviously left us wondering how it would handle its most popular series yes since its Inception the affordable pixel has always been the most popular and it seems the design and feature changes might make it even more compelling I'm ha with pocket now and yeah it's time for another Deep dive this time with a Google pixel 9A all right before we get into the nitty-gritty of time changes and stuff let's begin with what you want to know
most about this phone which is the design without me apologizing first for if you can hear the rain noise I don't know this microphone is really good about that but it's been raining cats and dogs for the past like 3 to 4 days anyways baked images have given us a glimpse of the pixel 9A and it looks like it will follow on the same design language Trend that we saw with the 9 series the phone is expected to have a flat set of edges and the flat back panel giving it a clean and modern look one noticeable change is that Google seems to have made the camera visor smaller so it doesn't stick out as much as we had on other phones this updated design has generally been well received
with the pixel 9 series even though some have pointed out that it resembles an iPhone a lot overall most of the community seems to like the refresh so let me know what you think in the comments cuz for me it doesn't really matter what it looks like so long as it's great now when it comes to Performance as expected the pixel 9A will most likely be powered by the tensor G4 processor following on the trend Google started with the pixel 6A of using their latest chip on the a series this should give the pixel 9A solid performance especially with AI features which Google has been emphasizing on these newer devices maybe the bigger changes in Ram given these AI test with rumors hinting to a whopping 12 gigs it pretty much would standardized the ram across the
series and making this device capable of Gemini Nano on device now in terms of size and footprint leaked photos indicate that the pixel 9 will be similar to the pixel 8A with a 6.1in display for users who prefer smaller phones this is great news as 6.1 in diagonal is the sweet spot for balancing Compact and offering a comfortable viewing experience the pixel 8A featured an OCTA display which was a big improvement over the dim screens of earlier affordable pixels it's likely that the pixel 9A will see a slight increase in brightness following improvements made to the pixel 9 series making the screen even easier to see Outdoors Now battery life is another area where the pixel 9A is expected to perform well the pixel 8A had a battery capacity of 4500 Mah hours and we
anticipate the pixel 9 will have something similar this should offer solid endurance which we've seen across all tensor G4 devices for like the first time ever in this Chip's history that said one area where users are hoping for improvements is in charging speeds the pixel 8A only supported 18 wat wi charging which may be considered quite slow faster charging would be welcomed on the pixel 9A allow users to top their phone pretty quickly but we'll see how that goes now if you're wondering what's the catch for this to be an affordable phone well uh there are some disappointing news Google is rumored to be using an older modem in the pixel 9A to help cut the cost this is quite
concerning because the older xn0 5300 modem is uh not necessarily popular it was flagged with overheating and poor connectivity issues so we'll see how that goes now when it comes to software the pixel 9A is expected to Launch with Android 15 and will likely receive 7 years of software updates ensuring support until like 2032 I think it is making it pretty irresistible for the mid-range aside from the Gemini Nano we also hear that features like Gemini live will be working on it which brings this interactive conversation offering with task performance and more overall the pixel 9A looks set to offer a combination of long-term software support Advanced Ai and user favorite
features maintaining its place at as a standout option in the mid-range market so long as the Price Is Right more on that in a sec now when it comes to the camera system which obviously makes a pixel a pixel the pixel 9A is expected to continue Google's trend of featuring a dual camera setup similar to the previous a series models while Google's typical use of older camera sensors has been the common trend for affordable devices its Advanced computational photography pretty much ensures you're getting good results for example the pixel a88 featured a 64 megapix primary sensor and a 13 megapixel Ultra wide and the results were pretty great if you watch my review now the good news here
is that this pixel 9A is reported to bring the pixel 8 Pro camera system at least in the primary and Ultra wide which yeah would be amazing at this price point now we're not expecting more camera features than what we have on the pixel 9 series unless the company launches another pixel drop or something if we're honest this a Series has never been the spot for showcasing anything so we're not going to hold our breath I'm fine with what we've had so far like seriously this phone has been surprisingly great year-over-year and not just for the price now speaking of that Google's increased the prices of the pixel 9 series in 2024 so it wouldn't be surprising if the pixel 9A followed suit with a slight price bump
we are hoping that the company sticks to the $500 range as the pixel 8A was an excellent value but that was right after the pixel 8 got more expensive just to make them kind of make sense so far there's no indication that Google is planning to raise the price of pixel 9A so we're keeping our fingers crossed that it remains affordable another change to note is that Google shift at its typical release schedule the pixel 9 series which was usually released in October came out early August in 20124 which yeah pretty much made a scramble everything typically the a series models like the pixel 88 were released around may but that's not always the way it was if you remember the a series sometimes
happened in January February given the new trend of earlier launches there's a possibility that the pixel 9 could be released earlier in Spring 2025 although nothing has yet been confirmed to conclude what can I say right now it's still early for the pixel 9A but if it ends up being this goodlooking this powerful and this well priced we're looking at kind of a winner Google needs this lineup to succeed the more the company brings its technology to the masses the better it does in mind share so far everything points to a great phone coming soon but it's not like if I'm telling you to wait cuz if you could jump on any deal for the pixel 99 right now oh yeah you should totally do that
