I'm going to we've just arrived in Muzdalifah. We asked for the sunnah we stayed in the boundaries of Arafat right up to Maghrib. And as the prophet Ali said to the Sahaba he said I'm a marker that in front of you is the prayer place of prayer. Meaning you're not to pray Maghrib actually in Arafat. The sunnah is with one adhan and two iqamas to combine and shorten salat Maghrib and salat Isha which we did just earlier on today as we arrived. We need to pick up the stones for the jamarat as well. You can see already my dear brothers are starting to collect for the jamarat. The sunnah is you're looking at the size of a chickpea stone essentially. Last time I was here I forgot a little trick that I used to do but
this time just before I ran out of my house I remembered and Allah bless my wife she handed it over to me. Just to this makes life a lot easier. Just to collect the stones in like freezer bags. So for the 10th of Dhul Hijjah we're going to need seven stones. Let's So let's start with that Bismillah. We're going to So this bag I'm going to just put seven in there, okay? So Bismillah one two chickpea size three four five six seven Right so this is for tomorrow. So for the 11th of Dhul Hijjah and the 12th of Dhul Hijjah I need to pick up 21 stones.
I was going to count them up one two three four 20 21. Right, okay. That's my bag of 21. That's for the 11th of Dhu al-Hijjah. The 12th of Dhu al-Hijjah, again, you're going to stone for seven You're going to need three lots of sevens. So, I need to pick up 21 again. Uh looking for about chickpea size. 3 T 19 20 And 20 21. So, here what's going to happen next? Now that alhamdulillah we've basically done the major task. We've we've prayed Maghrib and Isha with one adhan and two iqamas combined. This is from the Sunnah of the Prophet Alayhi Salat wa Salam. We're doing the dhikr of Allah Subhana wa Ta'ala. Allah Subhana wa Ta'ala wants to constantly
wants to do dhikr of Allah Subhana wa Ta'ala. We'll continue that and the talbiyah will continue as well. Our talbiyah of Labbayk Allahumma Labbayk will continue till Jamrat al-Aqabah. So, tomorrow when we stone the large pillar, at that point we will stop doing the talbiyah. Up to then we'll keep doing the dhikr of talbiyah, insha Allah. Alhamdulillah, it's uh it's very unique. That's about just gone after Fajr and the sun is rising. Alhamdulillah, um you know, the Messenger of Allah alayhi salat wa salam he woke up early in Muzdalifah to pray Salat al-Fajr uh a location which is uh now uh Al-Mash'ar Al-Haram, the sacred monument masjid in Muzdalifah.
Uh and after praying the salah of Fajr, he did a very long dua facing the qibla, and just before the sun rose, he may started make his way Alayhi Salat Was Salam to Mina, which is where we are now. Well, look. We've got my seven stones. What's the point of these seven stones now? What we doing with these? What? You didn't bring 21? No. Alhamdulillah, good. I made that mistake, seriously. No, you're right. I was joking with you. I was laughing about your bags, and then you got a friend. Do you actually need my help?
Yeah, it's like I remember giving you some spares. You did. I remember that. Yeah, a couple of years back. embarrassing. So, you know, it happens. We have to keep revising, you know, before people think, "Oh, we're experts of this." No, we're not. We just We keep revising the notes, like everybody else, right? You just got You've got to prepare, prepare, prepare. So, this is the 10th of Dhul-Hijjah, which around the world is being celebrated as Eid al-Adha, right? For us, we're not actually going to be doing that. We've got this Now, which is day of the entire Hajj. You know, the scholars always pose a question, uh or a question is posed to scholars, "Why uh why is it that we only stone one pillar, why not all three?" Whilst
on the 11th and the 12th, and optionally on the 13th, we stone all three. Yeah. We just know that's what we're meant to be doing. That's one. But, the other one the scholars give is takhfif, like a lightening on the load because this is such a busy day for the Hujjaj, Yeah. the 10th of Dhul-Hijjah. There's a lot going on already. You can Do you Can you see those minarets? Yeah. That's Masjid Al-Khayf, right? you visited that. I was there, yeah. So, this is the location where it's believed, that in around this location, that Ibrahim Alayhi Salat Was Salam brought Ismail Alayhi Salat Was
Salam for the sacrifice, and it's a very special masjid as well, because there's a hadith which mentions that 70 prophets Alayhim Salat Was Salam Azmain prayed in that very masjid. So, it's a very sacred space. The Prophet Alayhi Salat Was Salam's camp in Mina was there. Alhamdulillah. Allahumma salli ala Muhammad Allahumma ya Allah wa barakatihi alhamdulillah. We will enter into the historic blessed Masjid al-Khayf. I came here before.
No, I was Oh, I know you came earlier, but I didn't. I've had I've been here before. So, and of course we want to pray again of Well, this is the blessed Masjid where the prophet alayhis salaam actually camped here during his time in Mina. And when he gave khutbahs here, and the Muhajirun were based on one side and the Ansar on another side. We're essentially going to pray two rak'ahs Salat al-Ishraq inshallah within Masjid al-Khayf, which is a blessing, and then we'll go on to the Jamarat Bridge inshallah. Bismillah.
And proclaim the pilgrimage among men. They will come to thee on foot and mounted on every camel lean on account of journeys through deep and distant mountain highways. Oh, mashallah. Look at this beautiful mist of water coming down. Yes, sir. Yeah, alhamdulillah. We're just trying to get our coordination right. People are exiting from this side. We're coming inside on the Ah, ground floor. So, this is like going into the jamarat. Which We're on the small I think the other thing that I should really mention, which is important, is this is going to be our last talbiyat.
These are the last times we're going to be saying Allahuma labbayk Allahuma labbayk. Labbayk Allahuma sharika laka labbayk. Innal hamda wa ni'mata laka wal mulk. La sharika lak. For one week we stone the main We're on the Are we on the ground floor? Yeah, we're on the ground floor. And I don't think we've done the ground floor before. been on the ground floor. But look at this sea of people. Subhanallah. So, we just have to be You have You do have to be careful here. But Allah, everybody's coming in. The majority of people like us have decided to go early.
Otherwise, it's going to be very hot. Yes. And so, alhamdulillah, because we didn't actually feel the heat of the sun. It's still rising. Uh but alhamdulillah, it's cool in here. Loud and cool. And we are going to So, this is now where we're about to pass jamarat al-sughra. Masjid al-Khayf is behind us. This is the uh jamarat, which is the smallest jamarat. But we are not going to stone this one today. And if you notice the safety barriers on right and left because they're controlling the crowds to make sure
there's nobody getting hurt. Which is really commendable. Once again, isn't it? It is loud. That's the fans. That's the sound of the fans that are going. Then what's What's next is waiting for a confirmation about the hadi, about the blood sacrifice of gratitude. When is your confirmation coming? So, my I'm expecting mine to come through around about 8:00 a.m. And the time currently is coming up to about 6:00 a.m. So, maybe by the time I get back to the camp, it'll be quite close to that time where I'll get a confirmation that the sacrifice is being made. happens then it wasn't Then after that we're going to either shave or shorten our hair a bit. I think in both of our cases we're going to go for the shave, right?
Yeah. I've got my seven stones. Yeah. You got yours? Yeah, I've got them and I've got my spares as well just in case. Nice. These are people who are not afraid. He's got spares. People get really excited as soon as they see the pillar and they go for it. I find that you keep going past the main crowd and by the back end of the pillar you could swing in, yeah. And the sun is just to go Bismillah Allahu Akbar. So you don't want to give it the full pelt.
Like some people you do see get a bit excited. That's how people get hurt as well. You mean the Are you talking about in-swing? Yeah, no in-swing is our out-swing as here. I saw people even throw their sandals. Yeah. They get a little bit excited that they're a crazy analogy. Let's do a in-swing, yeah. No, we're going to go out and to come in. Yeah, in-swing. Yeah, so he's going to be an in-swinger. So you can see now that we're passing the second one.
We don't stone that one. No, no. Again out of mercy for the amount of rights we're going to do. So we're going past Don't pass the first. We're now on to the second. We're going past the second one right now. All right, so this is the bit to avoid. You're seeing people are already stopping and they're like about 20 ft back throwing and that's going to hurt people at the front. So we've gone past and now we can cut in. Now you can see there's a lot two or three people deep. Which is fine and it's safe. project And I've got We don't want to hurt people along the way.
Alhamdulillah. That's it. Done. The number of takbirat. That was a very intense experience. I've never done that on the ground floor before. I was just worried about the crowds. Uh you can see the heat of the sun is not hitting us right now. Yeah. I'm not with that walking back into the minute map. And uh the Kalbiyah has now been replaced with Takbirah. of Allahu Akbar Yeah, that's a very good different uh cuz we're normally used to doing it from the top floor. And this time we're doing it from the ground floor. Yeah, uh You know, it is I describe it as being like a beer Yeah. That is the scale.
All levels. And I think it's an all downwards. So, that could be like five levels up above the ground. All of that. It's a massive. And yet on the ground floor, look how busy it was. And that's after they spread it out. So, you can just think subhanallah, imagine what it was to be like before when you just have a stone pillar, not a wall. Yeah, yeah. Oh, I've seen the pictures. And it will take hours, multiple hours to do that because we had to actually wait your turn to get in or slip in. And people trying to And people trying to get out as well. Yeah. And now you see how they're controlling how people come in and people come out. It's like Look how we're being controlled as well. We're heading back to our camp in Mina.
You know, I want to reflect on what's happened so far. Uh we've done Muzdalifah. I've I was counting the stars and looking for a space. Um and I found it like in a water fountain. I thought this is my space. I'm picking up my stones from there. Seven of them I counted up. Well, 49 We arrived in Muzdalifah quite early. Very early, yes. So, it gives us a chance to really pick up the stones very quickly. Well, so I know in previous years where we've not arrived as early as that, it takes a while to find that number of stones. And the other thing which I have to say
Well, no, no, hold on. The authorities actually put a lot of stones there for people to pick up. but talking about putting her stones there, here's something that was prepared a bit earlier for brought it with me. Yes, I saw that. Ah, yeah. So, this I don't know whether this is a new thing that we don't want to show it. But, is that depending on which would become with, they actually prepare for you the rocks and stones and something that you don't have to pick up again. So, I don't know if I say you've got the seven the 21 that the seven which is what we just did now. And then Jamrat al-Aqabah, the big Jamrat al-Aqabah. And then for the level of the Hijaz 12 and optional 13 and 21. So, there's actually 70 stones
in here. So, I brought them as a backup anyway. Yeah, but the thing is I knew about that. I didn't actually do that cuz I felt like I have to pick up physically myself. I didn't do that. I did that. I've seen on social media Yeah. some groups are actually But, I actually want to pick up the stones. No, no, I want to pick up the Yeah, so nice to pick up Yeah. Absolutely. Well, well, well, well, then we moved to Mina to our Nice. Yeah, that was a massage. Then we moved to Mina coming to our camps. It was quite tiring. We went to sleep, isn't it? That was a good sleep for me, alhamdulillah.
I not for me. I was wide awake. I was wide up. It must be all the way it was. I mean, and then Fajr and then moving out here. Fajr Jamarat and then the something here as per the sunnah and if it's beautiful and see our brothers and sisters. So, what's going to happen next? All right. Okay, so now all of us Okay, so traditionally what used to happen is that you would actually go to the Mu'awiyah to the slaughter houses yourself. And actually many people would have sacrificed animal themselves with their own hands.
Yeah. Because of the sheer numbers, you know, think about it. You've got like over 1.7 million pilgrims here. That's just not practical. But what I can tell you is the slaughtering has already begun. I've been given an idea that my dhabihah done my sugar will be done in around 8:00 a.m. And the time 6:45, so I've got some time yet because once I get a confirmation of that, I will then uh I've received a shave or Can I say you may well be shaving my hair? Yes, probably. be my barber for today. I'm on a It's not much there, so you'll be all right. Yeah, it won't take long. It I've saved you half the job.
I bought the clippers. I bought the clippers in my bag. But this Yeah, this is the busiest day. And it physically feels busy as well, doesn't it? Yeah. The number of people are rising. It's sunny. Yes. Incredibly busy here. Allah bless. Oh, yeah. But this is the bus of 1447. I'm going to have the delegation of Allah here. The 1447. And we can see now the increase of the faith for the first as well. But we pray Ah, it's only 11:00. Alhamdulillah, look.
Pray call water on us. That's uh much appreciated. Even with glasses on, I appreciate it. Alhamdulillah. But the thing is again, we've come at a good time. The sun you can see starting to rise. We've started to warm up here. Anything but we're just under 30° now, and we know in the next few hours it's going to go over 40°, so I'd rather do it at this time. Like everybody else is doing the same thing. And the other thing which was nice, a lot of hadjis, and including our own, gave umbrellas. We just chose not to bring it with us just because of the time we've got. Or we'll do it tomorrow.
Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We're going to take And yeah, being with those white UV umbrellas, those large ones, to kind of reflect the heat off you. And because it is still I mean I was told before I came out here that oh, the side to become spring Hadjis now, but I don't know about that. I think still we're still in the summer Hadj period. Yeah, I would say this is still summer Hadj. But maybe the tail end of them, but they're still mashallah. So now look, now the sun is out. I mean it's it's sunny, it's definitely getting warmer now. From where we've entered the Jamarat Bridge. I mean I People just need to keep hydrated and that's the other thing which strongly advise that always bring water with you,
which I do have in my bag. And the umbrella. Though other people might get away with it. But yeah, tomorrow and the day after, we'll need that umbrella. Which you will because the sun nice to do after the hot. So then of course going to be the sun is going to be at its peak. Uh it's going to get really hot here in Mina, over the 40° peak. And so we're all going to keep hydrated, have the umbrellas out, sunglasses to protect your eyes. Inshallah. And Allah accept inshallah ya rab. So this is the time for to do get your uh we've done Jamarat al-Aqabah. Uh this is the stoning of the last hair cut. You only do that one after the other two. And a combination of haircut cover, uh
which is the thumb sugar that the sacrifice has been confirmed. It's now It's gone past cover. Uh and all of us will do it in the morning, which is typically women. Many, many animals are done. So, we're now going to uh put in here and uh The next phase is our haircut, which is really nice because that's I've not seen that before, right? Yeah. But, like I said, when you saw my tour earlier on, these are not facilities you might get in every camp. No, I can't. These are mashallah. But, I think they are upgrading the facilities.
The this is really top of the line palm. Really perfection, which is great. And they're they're the ones who gave us some nice little kits in our rooms as well. It's the same company. But, I'm I'm the honest to be honest, I'm I was actually really shocked because last time, I think you cut my hair. Yeah. I don't know what I done to you. Yeah, well, it never came back. So, uh so this time I was like I'm going to trust somebody else to do it. I take no liability for that. I don't know, but they might have used So, this two options here, right? So, you can do um the qasar, which is the shortening of the hair, which is what my uncle has gone for. And uh we're going for halq,
right? Which is the really top of the umrah. Which is completely uh taking off. And that comes from a hadith that the prophet alayhis salatu was salam, he said that may Allah have mercy on those who uh shave their hair. And he said that three times over those who shorten it. So, the optimal the more rewarded position is to go for halq. To be honest, it's easy for me to say that because there's not much to take off anyway, so there we go. I'm hoping for a shave. Well, yeah, my You're all right. Yeah, alhamdulillah, it grows quite quick. Yeah, alhamdulillah. From the umrah, I think I can't wait.
Yeah, I mean, that's why mine's got really come back a great deal since umrah. Now, I have to see if they offer kind of trimming service or not. I think we got some nice little something like this. And then the only thing left after that is uh to offer ziyarah. As this is what's called al tahalul al asghar, which is like coming releasing ourselves Tahalul literally in Arabic means missed is ourselves out of the state of Um which is Asghar which is the short smallest version. The only thing left then is to do Akbar which is to completely release. That would be one of the proper Ziyarah properly father in Mecca Mukarramah.
So yeah, we can change into our ordinary clothes after this yeah. Yeah, if you want to change into all those rules of your time like using perfume, soaps and power gels and all of this will be removed and the only thing that's I mean it's only appropriate for husbands and wives that are allowed to be together is marital relations. So this will release you to be able to do that but once you've also done the dua of Ziyarah then you can. That's also when you're here for the full time. Labbayk Allahumma labbayk. Labbayk Allah sharika laka Inna al-hamda wa ni'mata laka wa al-mulk la sharika laka Labbayk Allahumma labbayk.
