Ink Master Tattoos We're STILL Not Over Seasons 14-17. | Transcript:

Anthony, this thing is sick, bro. This illustration is off the chain. This thing has killer flow. There's a lot of tricks. Just seeing some of your subtle tones where you brought that teal into some gray, this thing's bananas, dude. JUDGE: Very creative use of the olives for the eyes. JUDGE: The olives are beautiful. JUDGE: Yeah, I hate olives, and I love those olives. American cheese, we all know, would be better on this burger. But the Swiss cheese for the contrast really brought it home.

I would wonder if I'm going to eat it or it's going to eat me. [THEME MMUSIC] If you want to join the League of Winners, you must prove that you can match or even beat their skills. - Damn. - Wow. Shit, dude. HOST: For this elimination tattoo, each of the Ink Masters will pick a style. Oh. You must tattoo in one of the styles called by the Ink Masters. While you tattoo your canvas, the Ink Masters will also tattoo at the same time. Oh head to head. In critique, your tattoo will be directly compared to the Ink Master's tattoo in the same style. Fuck. No pressure.

Fail to match the Master, and you must face off. God damn. OK. I'm going to have to face off to feel it. It's insane to have to go up against any artist in their preferred style, much less an Ink Master. Tony, what style do you pick? Traditional, open color palette. Let's see those fundamentals. HOLLI: There can be a lot of rules to know in order to do traditional tattoos-- bold lines, bright solid color, and a simplified design. If you can't tattoo that shit, you can't be here. Let's put the fun in fundamentals. Anthony, what style do you pick? I'm going with illustrative, open color palette.

OK. ANTHONY: I want to see everybody draw, loosen up a little bit, and go at it. Illustrative, it's really, like, where you flex on your drawing skills. It's really open. DJ, what style do you pick? Let's go with neo traditional. All right. Neo traditional is using the tattooing techniques of traditional, but doing a little bit more of an illustrative style with it. It's just like American traditional, but, like, a little sexier. I can already tell nobody wants to compete against DJ. Ooo, fuck.

I don't want to compete against any of them. And Steve, what style do you pick? We're going to have some fun. So black and gray, surrealism, freehand. Wow. What? Freehand surrealism. MAN: Tattooing with no stencils is fucking hard unless you're doing some crazy shit that doesn't really have to be anatomical. I ain't going to pick it. - Let's see what we got. Let's have some fun. Skulls and demons and shit. - That's it. - That's it, man.

Are you guys hot? What do you got the temperature set at in here, nervous? This time, these artists are amazing. They're throwing people in the mix that already know about tattooing under the gun. It's going to be way harder to trip these artists up because they've been through this before. Gian's followed my work for a long time. He does super clean, neo traditional tattoos at home daily, so I know he's going to keep up. Crazy being back in the day, you know what I mean?

Like, I know. It's a fucking honor to tattoo just with you in the same room. I'm going for a leopard, man. It's a likeable image. I'm going to keep it simple. Winning that $250,000 would be amazing. But going up against DJ and beating him at this style, dude, that's priceless, man. [TENSE MUSIC] Check out my competition here. Oh, man, that's a Steve tat. It is. It was this or kittens. I was going either way. - Fuck, yeah, man. That's cool.

Me picking Steve is 100% tactical. Nobody else in this competition has the fucking balls to step up and do a freehand tattoo. So I'm taking Steve on just so I can show off. Got a nice piece, man. Yeah, thanks, dude. Appreciate it, man. Man, everybody's fucking crushing it. That's how it's been, dude. Only good tattoos going home. Gotta beat a master to be a master. Anthony's picking illustrative style tattooing against somebody that is doing illustrative every single day of the week?

It's not every day that you get thrown something that you can do really good in your own style. This is a tattoo that has color theory and light source that is going to blow away anything that anybody else creates. Wow, that's fucking cool, dude. Some fucking cyberpunk oni. And I don't want to be cocky, I'm just-- I'm just going to fucking slay. Let's peep this. Yeah. Ooo, that's clean, dude. I decided to go with traditional and go head to head with Tony. I'm going, like, very traditional with the palette.

Like-- Thank you, thank you. And it gives me the opportunity to go against Han, which I've been wanting to do. Well, let me look at your palette. Yeah, I'm going, like, one above, like, the three-color palette. I never believed in that anyway. I've always been, like, traditional has a feeling. It's not like up a rule book. Han normally kills it when it comes to traditional tattoos, but I think he overthought this one because he basically did, like, four tattoos in one design. And it's really hard to read.

Yours is big, too. It's not the size of the tat. It's the quality, bro, not the quantity. Damn. Today, you had to tattoo in one of the styles called by the Ink Masters. If you were able to beat or match the Ink Master, you are safe from elimination. Let's see how you did. Bob. This is a funky-ass tattoo, and it's really fucking cool. The one thing that's always surprising is to see how you pack color, and how solid it is and saturated. It's refreshing. It feels like a new style. It feels like something different. And it feels like Bob. HOST: Did Bob match the Master?

JUDGE: Yes, Bob did match the Master. Man, I think you beat the master today. Yeah, Bob, I think you beat him. HOST: Congratulations, Bob. You matched an Ink Master, and you are safe from elimination. Thank you. Hey, hey, congrats, man. Katie, you're up. OK. I love the butterflies. I love how you made the center of them that little heart and left the negative space right on top. You simplified it. You didn't put too many lines on that hair.

You kept it exactly what it was supposed to be. Judges, did Katie match the Master? JUDGE: Both tattoos are traditional. Both tattoos follow the rules. Katie did match the Master. Katie absolutely matched Tony. Katie did match the Master. Katie, you matched an Ink Master, and you are safe from elimination. - Yes. - Congrats. Thank you, Tony. Woo! - Thank you. - Good job. Creepy Jason, let's see how you did. I like there's a delicateness to it.

I love how you threw the web in the back. I think you smashed this, dude. Awesome. There's a lot of little intricate stuff, like, in the eyes and in the eye sockets. Inside of the skull, you have all of the creepy, dirty, dingy web stuff. Then the body of the spider almost looks like it's that really thin exoskeleton sort of cocoon. Judges, did Creepy Jason match the Master? JUDGE: Texture for texture, quality for quality, Creepy Jason definitely matched the Master.

Creepy Jason, I do think you matched the master. Jason matched the Master. Creepy Jason, you matched an Ink Master, and you are safe from elimination. Thank you, guys, appreciate it. That's a good job, Jason. Gian, let's see how you did. You found the biggest dude on the yard and you went after that dude. Yes, 100%. For me, DJ being one of my favorite artists of all time, going head to head, that was the way for me to just step out of my comfort zone.

I think you fucking nailed this tattoo. They're super clean. The shape of the tattoo, the details at the bottom, ripping through the mouth, the eyes, I like them all. Thank you. When you really zoom in on the whiskers, they are lined really nicely. That is so hard to do. Did Gian match the Ink Master? Two completely different takes on neo traditional, but absolutely equal in terms of quality and integrity. Gian, you definitely matched the Master.

Gian, you matched the Master. You definitely match the Ink Master. Gian, you matched an Ink Master, and you are safe from elimination. All right, man. Thank you very much. Woo! Oh, man, thanks, bud. To win this competition, you must use every tool at your disposal. And that includes your coaches. MAN: Man, let's go. JUDGE: Because every decision you make matters. Even the smallest mistake could send you home. Today, you must tattoo a skull.

Yes, let's go. Yes. Skulls are just so versatile. You can tattoo a pretty skull, a gruesome skull. You can add a skull to any piece of art. JUDGE: It's up to you to take this very ordinary subject matter and make it extraordinary. Something interesting. So many skulls have gotten tattooed in so many different ways. To really make your skull stand out is going to take some work. MAN: What are you going to do, like creamy yellow? I want it to be really bright up top. It's a tough color, so just make sure that it's nice and saturated.

Bruh, got you. Artists, there are five hours left. If you are not tattooing, what the hell are you doing? [BLEEP] Ready. Doing some fine line details on the skull. Now I'm just wrapping that cord around. These guys, my competition, they don't think I can do a lot of things. But I'm here to kill it. In New School, a lot of the time, it's bold, solid, flat [BLEEP] color. I don't do New School. I sure as hell don't do color. Don't overthink too many colors in those planes, OK? I understand. But I'm ready to take anybody on. If they put me in a corner, they better be prepared to fight.

It's funny, though, 'cause, like, my big competitors-- I'm trying to, like, play it cool. Just so they don't know what my weak spots are. I don't think anyone else here has the technical ability to pull off what I am doing today. There's really detailed realism in this skull. I'm doing stitching detail. It's just a mix of a lot of different skill sets. Don't do it if you feel not confident, but I'm just wondering, like, because it's orange, you could get a bluish color.

It's a contrasting color. It's going to pop it a little bit more. I'll trust your gut. I've come to win. The title, it means everything. And I've got such, like, a small group of people rooting for me. And it's a big platform, and I'm really, like, stoked to be here. Getting a little worn out? Yeah, just a little bit. Sorry, man. Just feel the pressure now. I knew he was behind. But, [BLEEP] stressing out.

This thing is huge, so I'm panicking a little bit, Today,. You were being tested on artistry, taking a basic skull and turning it into a badass tattoo. Let's see how you did. Bobby, you're up first. This tattoo is badass. The cobra's thick, and I love the tongue. But since you didn't split the snake's tongue, it kind of looks like he's slurping a spaghetti noodle. But who doesn't like spaghetti, right? You know what I mean? It could have a little more texture in that black and gray. Even though this tattoo is not technically perfect, I think it's rad.

[DRAMATIC MUSIC] David. JUDGE: I like this tattoo. It just feels like a comic book graphic novel. The illustration in this tattoo is amazing, bro. It's almost like it tells a story, right? Like, it has this tattoo machine flowing and the direction and the way it fits the body. The one thing I'll say is the color doesn't seem very solid in some spots. I like to see solid tattoos. Sydney. JUDGE: Your strengths, all the detail at the top and the bottom of this tattoo.

Your ability to render these small, single-needle circles, really, I'm impressed by it because that's not a tool everyone has. It's pretty precise. Thank you. Charlene. JUDGE: Overall, it's a great tattoo. Inside the socket could have been a little darker. I would have really pushed that skull to make it more readable. JUDGE: Design-wise, for that bottom jaw gets a little goofy for me.

Maybe shut the jaw and have it more somber with this beautiful flower creating life. Freddy. Oh, man. JUDGE: You really put your signature on this piece. I really like what you did with the bottom jaw. I think it's super cool. JUDGE: I love how you strategically put in those pops of the teal. FREDDY: That was Nico's idea, I will say. JUDGE: Oh, Nico, what a good coach you have. You may have lost that front part of the jawbone without it.

JUDGE: Then you dropped that gold cross on the hat. And it really did a great job of executing something different. I love this tattoo. Thank you. Cheers. Judges, it's time to decide who had the best tattoo of the day. I'm hands down, Freddy. That thing's [BLEEP] sick. JUDGE: He [BLEEP] killed this.

It looks like a watercolor painting. On a day where we're testing artistry, it's a really cool take. My vote tattoo of the day, Freddy. My vote is for Freddy. I'm going to have to give it to Freddy. I'm going to go for Freddy. The judges have decided. The best tattoo of the day goes to Freddy. Yay! She's creative, bro. Freddy, you are safe from elimination. For this elimination tattoo, you must create a Western tattoo.

Oh, my God. [BLEEP] You know we had to do that. You're here. Sick. I've never done a Western tattoo before. I didn't even know that's a thing people ask for. For Western tattoos, there's no real style you have to hit. It's a vibe. It's a whole feeling. So make us believe it. The West means so many different things to so many different people. Working on Yellowstone, the last six years have been this journey to discover what it meant to me. When you think of the West, you think of worn leather, fraying denim, fringe, the tension between clean precision and rich, lived-in texture.

That's what I'm going to be looking for. What's fringe? Oh! For detail day, it's easy to overdo it. So make sure the detail is in the right areas. Detail amplifies certain things. You can't just do a cowboy hat and call it a Western tattoo. It's just a hat. You're going to have to tell somewhat of a story. Oof. What a day to have the skull pick. Yeah. JUDGE: That was definitely your biggest tattoo, huh? It is, yep. This will be my first one that I, like-- Really show off.

Yeah. Thank you for letting me do your biggest tat so far. [DRAMATIC MUSIC] Oh, my God, look at the little detail you put in. Is that cool? Brian-- That cool? I just had a proud moment. OK, cool. Getting coached from Ryan and Nico, right, they just have different coaching styles. But the way that Ryan coaches me is what I need. That's cool. Brian's trying some new tricks today. Knowing that Ryan will not baby me and straight up tell me if something sucks is my secret weapon right now.

I would never do this at home, ever. But I'm happy I'm doing it here. - Good. - Of course, dude. Ah. Oh [BLEEP]. See? cool. - Thank you. Remember when you almost went home last week? [BLEEP] ecstatic. I can finally showcase my real black and gray and my detail. You have black. Then this is, like, you cannot do black on this and do it a little lighter. Medium? And then that's black and that's black.

Got it. Growing up, I would have never imagined that I would be in this position. I mean, I spent a large majority of my youth living a life that wasn't the healthiest or the safest. And then I found art, and I was able to find a different life for myself. I do believe that with hard work and a tough spirit, you can get to these places. Doing good so far. Right now, you have skin on skin. So I would knock all of this background with, like, some kind of wash. I have a nice drawing for this background, but I have no reference for the light source. If the background lighting doesn't match the horse, it won't look believable and it will look jacked up.

I want it to look like A-listed, like, hot stok. Just knock down the ground. Just a little bit Everything's on the line. I came here to be a competitor. I came here to make it all the way to the end. This could literally kill everything that I've worked for so far on this horse. Today, we tested detail with Western tattoos. Let's see how you did. Jozzy, you're up first. You [BLEEP] smashed this out of the park.

There's detail all over this piece. The really sharp, precise, perfect little individual strands of hair on the beard, it's extremely realistic. JUDGE: The contrast is just amazing. The sun is behind him, so the sort of sharpest light source is a kind of rim light up along his hat. And that makes it such a, like, dramtic image. It really rocks. Thank you. John. The musculature on the neck and chest are really impressive. It has a feeling of motion that I think is really, really successful all the way down to the sort of very dynamic dirt.

I love the negative space flecks of dirt. But I'm having a little bit of a problem with the fact that the background is only on the upper left section of the horse. It looks like the horse is just running out of nowhere on open skin. The horse itself could have been way more successful without that background. Brian. You're always the technician. You got super clean lines in here. It's dynamic. This shit kick just knocking the hat off this dude. And the anatomy and physics of it are so strong. That arm right there, the guy on the bottom

reaching back for his gun, it's so clear exactly what's happening. It's really neat. This is the kind of tattoo that I want you to do because it's fun and cool. It's ridiculous. Thank you. Love to see you winning, bro. Thanks, brother. Judges, it's time to determine who had the best tattoo of the day. For me, it's Brian, and it's Jozzy. I'm super impressed by Jozzy's tattoo. She really made something really beautiful and the contrast and really changed up what she's been doing. So my vote is for Jozzy.

I think they're both really impressive, technically sound tattoos for me. I got to go with the tattoo that I would want to have that I would want on me. My vote's for Brian. My vote is for Brian. HOST: That's two votes for Brian and two votes for Jozzy. I love both of them, but I can't find a single thing that I'm not in awe of with Jozzy's tattoo. So my vote for tattoo of the day goes to Jozzy. HOST: The judges have decided the best tattoo of the day goes to Jozzy. Today, you must take on your competitors by tattooing a New School monster.

Yes! I almost got sent home on a New School tattoo. I have to redeem myself. That looks so awesome. If you don't know how to do New School tattoos, these monster tattoos can be a nightmare. WOMAN: How excited are you? It's going to be a first. You need smooth color blends. You need to create textures, different line weights, cool lighting on this piece. So many tricks involved. [BLEEP] Oh, yeah, it's a good size. You better [BLEEP] hang on to this one. I really want to see a good illustration. Show me that you can draw.

Sweet. And if these artists mess that up, the Ink Master monster's going to haunt their dreams. OK, you color on me, you better take it for me. Just keep going. Don't stop. OK. Oh, yeah, let's get it. All right, man, we're going to start at the bottom and see you on the other side. This isn't going to hurt, right? No. [LAUGHING] Last week, I was on the bottom for doing a dog portrait.

This time, I get to show off what I'm good at, which is drawing and creating. This is New School colossal day. It's a monster. It should be big. That's your kid over there? - That's my son, yeah. - You're competing against him? - Yeah. - That's awesome. - Beating us. - Yeah. - Hopefully. I'm sick of being in the middle of the road. James has gotten tattoo of the day after tattoo of the day. But it's my [BLEEP] turrn.

- I love food. - Yeah. This makes for fun tattoos? Yeah. I guess I'm the food guy now. There you go, you know. I got a thing now, If you need me to move, just yell at me. You gave me permission. Hell, yeah. My tattoo is a scary anglerfish sea monster. The most difficult aspect of this is making it more monstery because anglerfish already kind of look like monsters. I'm going to pour some more colors. To combat that, I'm forcing some of these really spidery kind of looking fins and this big glowing reddish orange eye.

Don't be scared. This is only going to be extremely painful. Oh, thank you so much. Yeah, I actually feel better now. Since the beginning, this is the first real color tattoo that I've done. This needs to prove that I can do color, and I can do line work really well. Today, You had to show contrast tattooing New School monsters. Let's see how you did. Anthony, you're up first. Anthony, this thing is sick, bro. This illustration is off the chain. This thing has killer flow.

There's a lot of tricks. Just seeing some of your subtle tones where you brought that teal into some gray, this thing's bananas, dude. Very creative use of the olives for the eyes. JUDGE: The olives are beautiful. JUDGE: Yeah, I hate olives. And I love those olives. American cheese, we all know, would be better on this burger. But the Swiss cheese for the contrast really brought it home.

I would wonder if I'm going to eat it or it's going to eat me. Burger takes the cake, bro. Yeah. James. This tattoo is badass. The hands are sick. I love that you went with three fingers. More cartoony, not four. You went with the three. You could see every single joint, how it bends perfectly. The hands themselves have so much personality. You have these cool little tricks in the tongue. It feels like it's really licking and pressing against that spaceship.

JUDGE: The reflective light is so impressive. JUDGE: You have this nice purple, and then you have this yellow, and they're opposite color. So that's major contrast points. Monstrous tattoo, bro. You're a monster. Cat. I love how bright that light source is. You really used these colors to show contrast and utilize them in a way where they balance each other so beautifully. JUDGE: You have that dark, dingy ocean water color at the bottom. And it comes up into this brightness at the top. Super successful.

I really feel like you're just hitting your stride. Because this tattoo is a badass. I love this tattoo. Judges, it's time to determine who had the best tattoo of the day. There's a few really cool ones. Cat's tattoo is awesome. JUDGE: So solid, so much contrast, the definition of a New School tattoo. Anthony's cheeseburger is sick. And it shows tons of contrast. But it doesn't read as much monster to me. If I pick that burger up, I'd be scared of it.

JUDGE: I also think James's character is sick-- great contrast, a lot of readability. JUDGE: Anthony's is my favorite illustration. Cat's is my favorite saturation. And James is my favorite overall concept. Taking something that's normally not a monster and creating it into a monster, like, to take a burger. JUDGE: We eat it. We have no fear of it. This is a burger I feel like I could choke on. My vote is for Anthony. It's a different take on a monster.

My vote is for Anthony. I'm going with Cat. Those colors wow me. Clean, solid New School tattoo. That's two votes for Anthony and one vote for Cat. With Cat's, I think it could have been just a little more dynamic on the drawing side. My vote is for Anthony. This thing's sick, dude. The judges have decided the best tattoo of the day goes to Anthony. Cool. - This guy. - Appreciate it. Today you must transform a scar. Oh, shit. This is cool. - Awesome. It's a challenge, but I think it's a good challenge.

Tattooing on scar tissue is pretty tricky. The skin can be much, much harder or much, much softer. You have to be ingenious because the ink in the skin doesn't react the same as normal skin. Each of the canvases today has survived a life-changing event that has left them with a permanent scar. Wow. You must use ingenuity to create a tattoo that will perfectly camouflage it and turn this physical reminder into an empowering work of art. When it comes to scar cover-ups, it always feels like an honor. There's so much trust in your hands. It's one of the best parts of being a tattoo artist.

This is a fucking feel-good day, for sure. Working with scars is difficult. The skin changes in every area of a scar Really think outside of the box. This isn't about just slapping whatever you want over a textured area of the body. Make it fit the scar. If you're covering it, make it work with your design. You're changing people's lives here. This is fucking awesome. Artists, you have six hours to transform your canvas's scar into a beautiful tattoo. And your time starts now.

- You ready? - Yeah. Let's do it. The stakes are higher today with these scar tattoos. Maybe just put this out of the way. Yeah, yeah, wherever you want to put it, man. These artists have a unique opportunity to really change someone's life. The less of us there are, the more serious everyone becomes. Now we got to fight. Tattooing on scar tissue is extremely difficult. Tricky. It gets swollen almost immediately. The texture is different.

It's tricky. The scar is off-centered, so I want to make sure that at least the dragon sits centered. I want to see these artists work like magicians today. Ooh. Make these scars completely disappear. - All right, man, you ready? - Oh, yeah. Here we go. MAN: I wonder if having the heart attack actually increased my pain tolerance. MAN: Well, I'm glad you're still here, man.

MAN: Thank you. Part of the whole idea of, like, the koi fish and the dragon, right. In Japanese, the koi fish swims up the Goulburn River and it perseveres through all of these struggles. And when it finally reaches it to the top, it transforms into this dragon. But the strength of it alone represents, you know, that strength that you're looking for. There's a ton of scales and a ton of detail in this dragon face. It's my style. So having been at the bottom so many times, to rank anywhere but the top would really hurt.

What happened with this one? Got crushed. Really? They said if I would've waited another half hour, I would have been dead. That is insane. The Reaper didn't come and get you that day. Nope. This tattoo is fucking so big for six hours, I'm going to have to power through this thing. This is the weirdest shit is when you are on scarring area. My forearm was tingling. Just shooting a nerve somewhere. Yeah.

Can you imagine trying to fix the scar and then leaving him with a half-finished tattoo? I need to use every second. It's fucking brutal right now. Can I ask you why you had those scars on your side? Oh, when I was, like, early teenage years, I was very depressed. There was a lot going on in my life that I couldn't really control. And I went to-- to self-harm as, like, a coping mechanism for a long time. I understand that, coming from, let's say, a stressful environment. It's always going to be there, that anxiety, is just finding ways to manage it.

Healthy ways to manage it. Yeah, absolutely. When you see someone turning the page on a bad side of their life, it's just so inspiring. I want her to be proud to show her leg. I'm happy for you that now you-- you feel better. I like things to be relaxed. Yeah, me, too. To me, this isn't the place for it right now. And I'm here tattooing you. You're very strong for being here. I wanted this to represent love, strength, perseverance, get through it. This is a very special tattoo to me, too, and what an honor.

- Right? - Truthfully. I'm glad you got picked for me. Same here, honestly. I feel really special. I feel like the universe is telling me that we were meant to be in this room together and share this experience. What about, like, small highlights of a color in the rose? Ooo, if you put color somewhere, it looks like the other parts are not colored. It now looks incomplete. OK. The butterfly is important enough that it could be. Yeah. If it'll work with the butterfly, then.

Yeah. I really packed in that butterfly to be black and gray only. But today is about heather. You see that little bit extra, right? That little bit of extra oomph? Maybe it will make it pop. All right, judges, the artists had six hours to prove their ingenuity by tattooing scars. We don't know who did what, but safety from elimination is on the line. Let's bring up the first scar. [DRAMATIC MUSIC] It's mine. JUDGE: This was the self-harm. Cool little skunk with the flower.

JUDGE: And I love the endearing eyes, man. Like, so loving. There's a lot of cool textures and tricks in this. It's very animated. JUDGE: The illusion of the white on the belly right there in the shadow is really cool. JUDGE: I love this tattoo. JUDGE: It makes you smile, right? JUDGE: This skunk's got a good funk. Cool. - Cool. - Well done, Luka. - Your tattoo made me happy. - Thank you. JUDGE: Let's bring up the next scar.

Oh, that's me. JUDGE: This was the quadruple bypass. JUDGE: Wow. I love the Black scales. I love the antlers. It looks fierce. Bold, bright, perfectly centered. I mean, the scar runs through the whole thing-- JUDGE: Which is kind of crazy, because you don't see the scar at all. JUDGE: Anywhere. - Great tattoo. All right. - Good. - How tough is that? MAN: That's good. - Good job, man. I think I'm good on dragons, though.

I think I'm sold out. Ooo. Let's see the next scar. Oh, yeah that's me. JUDGE: Preventative mastectomy. Wow. If you're going to do a rose, you gotta do it like this. Ah. JUDGE: Really cool contrast and lighting on the rose. Adding this really cool curve made this thing flow nicely. This artist actually used this under curve and created this beautiful, elegant shape on the body. JUDGE: I love the way it fades off with the thorns. I love the butterfly. The butterfly is sick. JUDGE: Since the butterfly is the only thing in color, it looks like the butterfly is coming out at you.

Super effective. JUDGE: Whoever did this is badass. Yeah. I think I know who did this. Who do you think? Kyra. - Yeah? - Kyra? Kyra is good with that realistic black and gray. I can see that. Thank you. If Kyra did this tattoo, then this is hands-down the best tattoo that Kyra has done. Maybe the best rose that Ink Master has seen. MAN: Dang! - Let's go! MAN: Big dog. Let's see it. Oh, I'm proud of you, man.

Thank you. Let's see the next scar. Oh, that's mine. JUDGE: The flesh-eating bacteria. Wow. Whoa. Six hours? It's huge, it's bold. It's super impressive. JUDGE: I like the shapes in the cheeks and the jaw and the teeth. I mean, it looks badass. Whoever did this really complimented not only the scar, but the entire torso. Doesn't look stagnant, doesn't look stiff. It has, like, really cool flow. Using those really, like, pitted areas above the teeth, and the way this drawing was illustrated to cover that scar was perfect.

Matt did this. - It's gotta be Matt. I think, Matt. To go like this, it takes a lot of balls. It's fucking great. It's not often you can try to do something so big and you can pull it off and the canvas sits it. He probably ain't got no shirt on right now somewhere. Yeah. Today, you had to use ingenuity to transform a scar into a work of art. Shit was fucking hard. It felt good. Based on your work, each of your tattoos have been ranked by the judges. All right.

The four artists with the highest-ranked tattoos will be safe from elimination. And apparently, there was a tie for the highest-ranked tattoo. Yeah. I wonder who it could be? HOST: Please reveal the first tattoo that tied for the highest rank. MAN: Dang! - Ooo. Oh, my god. Big dog. HOST: Kyra. Good job. Kyra, you changed this woman's life forever. I mean, this tattoo is really beautifully done.

The tattooing is amazing. The layout is amazing. You should be so, so proud of yourself and inspired by this. You rose to the occasion on this one, for sure. Thank you. Congratulations, Kyra. You are safe from elimination. God, I don't want to get eliminated. Good job. Please reveal the second tattoo that tied for the highest rank. The Reaper. Who did The Reaper? - Oh, yeah. - Of course. Matt. It had to be Matt. We knew it. Dude, you fucking killed this tattoo.

His story was so perfect for me. I'm kind of not afraid of death. Dude, you're getting a Reaper. You're, like, looking death in the face. Now, you're just going to have to sit. This big ass tattoo in that amount of time. How the fuck did you do that in six hours? When you do the stomach, when they lay down, it goes twice the size. And you go, oh, fuck. Dude, if he was self-conscious before, that dude doesn't have a shed of it anymore. This tattoo is fucking badass. Congratulations.

You are safe from elimination. Awesome. Dude, this is fucking insane, man. Big dog. Please reveal the third highest-ranked tattoo. MAN: Hey. - Little skunk! - Little skunk! Luca. WOMAN: Luka! Another rodent. JUDGE: I love this tattoo. The belly of it is crazy, bro. The way you made that look like fur, this tattoo was so great, man. You took something that stinks and you made it cute.

JUDGE: You killed it. - Very appreciated. Thank you, guys. Congratulations, Luka. You are safe from elimination. Hey, Luka. All right, Luka second. Please reveal the fourth highest-ranked tattoo. Oh, snap. All right. Keahi. Look at this guy. Got a little redemption on the dragon thing. Super clean, super legible. And honestly, you can't even see the scar anymore, which is really impressive. Amazing job, man.

It's nice to not be at the bottom today. Congratulations, Keahi. All right. [AUDIO LOGO]
