The Russian project 20380 Corvette Boiky of the Baltic Fleet suffered critical damage after being struck by a Ukrainian FP-1 long-range drone. Analysts estimate that this attack effectively destroyed the vessel, Defense Express reports. New video footage of the fire on the ship struck on June 3rd in the dry dock of the Kronstadt Marine Shipyard revealed the scale of the destruction immediately after the attack even before the firefighting effort began. This, it was noted, allowed for a more accurate assessment of the initial damage. Released footage shows that the Corvette's turret and mast structure collapsed into the hull. It housed the ship's key electronic systems including surveillance radar Fregat 2 target designation radar Monument-A, navigation
radars MP-231-2 TK, 25 electronic warfare system. As a result of the collapse of the structure, elements of the launchers of the Kh-35 anti-ship missiles of the Uran complex were also damaged. According to observations, the fire engulfed the interior spaces behind the wheelhouse where the ship's weapons and systems control stations are located. Analysts are particularly concerned that fire was also detected in the area beneath the bridge where the crew's quarters are located. Furthermore, deformations are visible in the hull which may indicate an internal explosion. Damage also affected the area where the Paket-NK system 324 mm anti-torpedo tubes located near the engine room is installed. This
likely means the fire could have engulfed the ship's main diesel propulsion system. According to eyewitnesses, four to five hydrants were used to extinguish the fire, but by the time extinguishing began, the fire was already actively developing inside the building. Experts note that prolonged high temperatures lead to a loss of metal strength and subsequent flooding leads to accelerated corrosion, making the ship's restoration extremely problematic. According to available data, the strike was carried out by a Ukrainian FP-1 long-range drone valued at approximately $55,000. Meanwhile, the cost of a project 20380 Corvette as of 2021 is estimated at 350 to 400 million dollars. The drone traveled more than 900 km to its target, after which, as analysts emphasize, the
ship was effectively disabled with critical damage equivalent to the complete destruction of the combat unit. As reported, Ukrainian drone struck the Russian Corvette Boyky, a guided missile carrier, in the port of Kronstadt. The Corvette had been undergoing scheduled maintenance since February 2026. The ship had not previously been hit and was known for its participation in operations near NATO borders and for escorting Russia's shadow oil fleet. Satellite images subsequently confirmed the damage to the Corvette Boyky in the dry dock of the Kronstadt naval base near Saint Petersburg. The images show firefighters attempting to extinguish the fire on board the ship.
