Good morning, adventurers. And welcome to Seattle. We're here because we just finished our epic Alaskan cruise. If you missed that video, definitely go check it out. We had an absolute blast. we saw icebergs and whales out the wazoo. But as you can see, we are back on dry land and we have a weekend to kill, so we decided to go exploring one of the most beautiful big cities in all of the US, Seattle. Yeah, that one right there. That one. We've been here a few times, so our goal this time is to avoid the super typical places. So instead of heading to Pike Place, we're heading to a much more local market. And then there's a museum that we've
been dying to check out that you won't find anywhere else. We also heard about a view that rivals the Space Needle. And sunset cruises are great and all, but we found a much cooler way to cruise the lake. But our first stop is going to take us right downtown. All right, Seattle. Here we come. So Seattle is obviously known for its coffee. Starbucks originated here. There are coffee shops all over the city that you can try, but we heard about a more unique coffee experience. Apparently, behind me there is an AI-powered robot
barista that will make you supposedly the perfect cup. So this was actually my idea. Allison is very, very skeptical about this robot coffee. Very much against it. I mean, we're in Seattle with some of the best coffee in the world. I want some like seasoned professional to make it for me and not some bland, cold robot. So the plan is Eric's going to get his perfect AI cup of coffee and I'm going to test it. And if I like it, I'll get mine. If not, I got another I got a backup plan. Yeah, a human-powered backup plan.
Let's go see how good or bad it could be. This place is pretty dang wild. You walk in and there are just three robot baristas waiting to take your order and they say hello to you. Of course they talk to you. This reminds me of when we took the Waymo and it pulled up and said, "Hello Eric." Why hello stranger. Good to see you Eric. Oh, it talked to me. Man, the future is now, huh? And I don't know if I'm ready for it. I feel like this robot could either make me coffee or just obliterate me. It's definitely got like Terminator vibes. I mean, it's even got a camera on it so it is literally looking at me right now. So the way it works is there's a screen here with all of the beverages you can choose from. I think Eric's leaning
towards a hot drink today because they apparently will do latte art. Oh my gosh, it looks like you can choose your latte art. Should we just do random and let them decide? Well, that was pretty fantastic. I just got a robot coffee for the first time in my life. When he was making the art it looked like a human was doing it. Yes. You know, minus the creepy robot arms. We've had like the robot coffee in the airport but it's so much simpler. It's basically just a little machine and it pushes a cup from here to there. This one actually does everything. He has a
milk steamer. He steams the milk himself. When he's done with the little steel cup, he cleans it. But does it taste good? That's the question. Could have fooled me. Tastes like human coffee. Some of the reviews kind of dissed on the coffee said like it was more of a novelty and the coffee wasn't that good but this tastes totally fine to me. All right, I'll be the judge. She's more of the coffee snob between the two of us I'd say. Huh? Pretty good. It is delicious. So on principle you're are you going to stick with human coffee for your coffee?
I am. But also it's so that we can show you guys one other cool coffee shop. Turns out the coffee shop I had in mind is literally on the other side of the block. So, we'll put the man versus machine to the test. Eloquently said. Yeah. I don't know man. I haven't had my coffee yet. You can't expect much from me. All right, robot powered versus human powered. Okay, let's see. It's a delicious cup of mostly milk tasting coffee. I mean, we didn't really get the same kind of coffee. We probably should have done that, but we're not really actually
trying to compare the two. I just wanted to try robot coffee. Now, I was surprisingly surprised. Well said, and you've already had your coffee, sir. But now we are headed to a market, but probably not one of the markets you think of for Seattle. We're trying to do stuff a little different if you guys can't tell today. Trying to get off the beaten path a little bit, but that means we're getting the heck out of downtown and going up north. So, we're heading up to Ballard because every Sunday they have this, an epic farmers market rain or shine year round. This market is further outside of downtown. I feel like it's a lot less touristy, a bit more local, and that's kind of the vibe we're going for this time in Seattle.
Plus, it is lining these streets here with a lot of very cool vintage shops. So, I'm thinking maybe a shopping trip is in order once we get our food, of course. Well, we weren't exactly sure what to expect at this market, but it is fantastic. There's way more food than I expected, some of the most delicious food I think I've ever seen at a market, or maybe I'm just really freaking hungry right now. really hungry. And of course, so many amazing puppies everywhere. It's the best part of the market. There's always a bunch of dogs. Half the time we're just filming dogs or just like waving at dogs from afar.
Yeah, trying not to get in trouble by their owners for pointing a camera at everybody. We have made our decision. We found a stand that's called Nature's Last Stand. He had the griddle with like all these eggs on it and all these meats that he was cooking, and it just looked so delicious, and it turns out they make these incredible looking breakfast sandwiches. I mean, tell me that isn't just absolutely beautiful. They have a bunch of different types there, but I went with the pulled pork, and it's just these delicious looking toasted buns.
The meat there, of course, on top of some egg and some cheese and there's some peppers on there. Oh, it's piping hot, too. It's a good bite. Oh, yeah. It's good. As expected, incredibly delicious, as delicious as it looks. The bun is nice and fluffy, just a little bit pillowy, buttery. The meat is the star, tons of flavor, perfectly tender. And then, of course, the egg and the cheese bring it all together, perfectly balanced. Oh, it's really messy, though. We are fresh out of napkins. We're going to find some napkins.
There. Is that for you? Thank you. Thank you so much. We were in desperate need of some sweet treats. So, I saw this popsicle place that makes these incredible homemade popsicles. I went with the chocolate banana. Looks just fantastic. Mhm. I got a pastel de nata from It's a Portuguese little custard tart, but this one is pistachio. I don't know if the cream is also pistachio. Y'all, these are one of the best desserts in the entire world when done right. Oh. Wow. Sexy as always. Oh my god. Oh, it's so warm. Holy cow, that is so good. It's so flaky and crispy on the outside. And as you can see, confirmed, the goo is pistachio. So, it's like a pistachio custard with pistachios on top. It wasn't cheap. This
little sucker was five bucks, but definitely worth it. All right, I think we have officially conquered the market. Onward into more of the city. Is that the way? No, it's this way. Just cuz I almost ran into her. Okay, this We decided we wanted to get some fresh air, so we headed out west to Discovery Park, which is this huge green space. And at the very tip of it is this really incredible beach, but what makes it really special is that you get this
really clear view of Mount Rainier off in the distance, just between these two hills. It is very cool. Definitely worth the stop on a sunny day, because if it's cloudy at all, you ain't going to see anything. I'll tell you the only downside of coming out here is there is absolutely no parking except at like the beginning of the park and you have to walk miles to get out here. So, Allison had to just chill in the car while I came out and got a quick shot. Kind of weird how there's no parking anywhere, huh? I know. How was it out there? Describe it to me. Oh, it was fantastic. You'll just have to watch the video.
Okay. I'll see you later. Someone's looking pretty good up there. Ooh, you talking about a little bit of this? For once I'm not talking about that. I'm actually talking about your backpack. Allison has finally upgraded. Well, my last backpack was basically a black hole and everything got lost in there. So, I upgraded. This is the Bento backpack from Nomad Lane and they're actually partnering with us on this video. It just might be the perfect bag. It travels like a backpack, but it opens like a suitcase, so everything stays exactly where I put it. You guys will not believe all of the functionality they've crammed into this little bag. They have super thick memory
foam straps. No more little tiny ones digging into my shoulders. And they have this super heavy-duty luggage strap and behind that, a secret hidden passport pocket. Boop. This bag is obviously awesome for travel days and weekend trips, but it's also a great hiking backpack. On the side, they have this hidden water bottle pouch. I can fit a whole umbrella in this front pocket. There's plenty of space inside for camera gear and the pockets are super shallow, so I can reach all of my snacks, which you should never hike without snacks. Leave us a comment and let us know your travel must-haves and check the link in the description below and get your own Bento backpack.
There also should be like a shopping link on the screen somewhere. You can click that, too. Somewhere here? How do you do YouTube? I Maybe in another 10 years we'll figure it out. Okay, but for now, more of Seattle. Y'all, we're back in downtown Seattle and randomly we just saw one of those open-top tour buses, two of them actually, just full of people in full-on like furry mascot outfits. I don't know what was happening. Two busloads of them. I will say that might have been one of the absolute last things I thought I was going to see at that intersection. So, sure you could go to that beautiful
park and get unobstructed views of the volcano, or you could come downtown and get amazing views at the intersection of Dzidzilalilich and Blanchard Street. All right, so we did look it up and that's actually the original native name for the waterfront. Regardless, still very fun to pronounce. This is a really cool spot cuz you get to see the Ferris wheel, the skyline, and then the mountain right behind it. Pretty cool. Okay, now we are heading that way. Obviously, Seattle sits on the water, so it is known for its seafood, of which we have had much here in the city. Was that well said? But, there is one dish that I have been on the hunt for y'all since we
came here back in like 2018, and I couldn't find it then, but for some reason it seems to be on a few menus this time. It is a very weird little creature that apparently they're going to slice up and feed to us as sushi, maybe, along with a bunch of other delicious things. So, this is Taylor Shellfish Oyster Bar. So, obviously the vibe in here is super chill, but what's really cool is that at the bar you can see the workers up there shucking the oysters right now. You guys, what have we done? Oh my goodness. We got all the seafood that they had in Seattle. But, the server assured us this is the way to go because clearly you get to try freaking everything, and I hope that you're in the mood for oysters because there's a
lot here. You know, I didn't know if it was going to be enough food, so I got the fish and chips. I probably didn't need these, but they look really good, don't they? I'm going to start with this cuz I know I'm going to like this. Man, that from tender fish it just completely falls apart. Well, this is a great way to start because that is just a flavor explosion. These are absolutely perfectly fried, perfectly tender, and I have to say the fries are phenomenal. Very real tasting. Okay, so while fish and chips are obviously delicious, they're boring.
They've been done. What we came here for y'all is actually this little dish right here. This is called gooey duck. This little guy is actually a sea clam and it is one of the most disgusting creatures I've ever seen in my entire life. What they do is they chop it up and serve it as sashimi. So this is raw gooey duck that is in fact spelled geoduck but pronounced gooey and now I'm kind of questioning everything I've ever wanted cuz why am I wanting to eat this? I'm not going to say it looks appetizing but you know down the hatch. Okay, gooey duck. It tastes like a creature that has been living in the ocean and is slimy and a bit fishy. It's not too bad actually.
It's a little salty, a little sweet. The consistency is really nice. It's crunchy. It's like an al dente steamed carrot or something like that. It's like got a little crunch to it. It just doesn't look that good, does it? Based on your description I thought it would be okay. It's really not good. Who loves sashimi? Very salty. Just kind of tastes like the ocean that it came from. It's almost like calamari but really I was really hoping that I would like it because it's very popular but not my jam. This is what I was most excited for. This is the Dungeness crab.
Oh, and they already like pre-cracked it for us. That is key because we suck at that part. He said you dip it into this sauce over here which is inside of the body of the crab. And then there you go. That on the other hand is incredibly delicious. The crab meat is obviously super fresh and tender and like the perfect temperature too but this sauce here very tangy and zesty. I know there's a lot of lemon in there. So the guy told us the story of every single oyster individually. They're each very special. They're grown for a certain amount of time, found in a certain area. I'm going to start with this one. He said it was his favorite and that it is a bit more meaty than these other ones.
Going to have the consistency more of like a mushroom. Put a little vinegar on there. Oh, yeah. And down the hatch. Well, that is a delight. I definitely know that oysters are not everyone's jam, and they are absolutely disgusting to a lot of you. But, if you like them, you'll like them. And these are fantastic. Maybe the best oyster I've ever had in my entire life, right there. All right, we did our best. We conquered almost every dish on there, y'all. And at the end, they bring you these piping hot towels because our hands are covered in disgusting fish goo.
Ooh, it is a hot potato, and it looks like one, too. Just under the Space Needle, you are going to find one of the weirdest-looking buildings ever, and that is actually the Museum of Pop Culture. Inside, you are going to find all things entertainment from throughout the ages, stuff about movies, music, video games, everything you can possibly think of. Of course, Allison and I are into music, but we are also into movies, big time. We watch a lot of movies, so I cannot wait for that part of this museum. You coming? Oh, yeah. Let's go. Well, first things first, we had to head to the horror section because we've been watching a lot of horror movies lately.
We have become big fans. Even though we really don't like gore and that stuff, I just hide my eyes. They have a Chucky doll over there. They've got one of the Critters, which we just watched. Definitely highly recommend if you haven't seen that. They've got like the masks from the Black Phone over there. They've got the actual costume that the guy wore from Terrifier. I feel like it's going to move at any second. Very creepy. Guys, we've entered the sci-fi section. All right, you ready to blast off in hyperdrive? Let's do it, Captain Kirk. Yeah, wait a minute. I found the warp drive.
Y'all, I'm not even that big of a Star Wars fan, but I would love to have this replica Death Star in my house. They have one of the actual Ninja Turtle costume. This is Donatello, which I don't know that I really realized cuz I haven't seen this in a long time, but that was played by Corey Feldman. Crazy. I mean, I get it now. Like if you think of his voice, it's definitely Corey Feldman's voice. How cool. I guess y'all could say I'm a pretty big fan of Mario. And Mega Man, of course. Y'all, we're in the guitar section and they have this huge like guitar tornado thing. It is freaking awesome. It's so much bigger than I thought it was going
to be. Oh, and there's keyboards and drums and all kinds of stuff mixed in there. Not to mention they have a bunch of famous guitars played by famous people anyway. And this one was played by none other than Mr. Kurt Cobain. Pretty awesome. Yeah, I found a guitar that even you can play. It's an air guitar. I'll give it a try. It says not to touch, but I think it'll be all right. You've done this before. Good night, Seattle. They have a jam room here with a real drum set. LET'S ROCK.
CAN ANYBODY OUT THERE NAME THAT TRACK JUST based on the drums? That was Deftones, Digital Bath. It's one of my favorite DRUM TRACKS EVER. SO, OBVIOUSLY, SEATTLE sits on Lake Union. It is about time that we get out on that water. Sure, we could do a sunset cruise. We all Of course, it's us. We're going to do something different. And it involves taking all our clothes off. That's right. We're in a freaking hot tub boat, y'all. What? This exists? Yeah, look at this. Yes, it does. Not going to lie, it's a little confusing.
This is how you steer. And if you want to go this way, you pull it this way. I get really nervous on the water, y'all, and then I panic and I forget everything and then I just think I'm going to smash into it. But how dang wild is this, you guys? We've got this awesome little hot tub boat that is just perfectly sized for two people. I mean, I guess you could fit a whole bunch of people in here if you wanted to. up to six people in this, y'all. But we are on Lake Union and it is super chill today. There's hardly any wind. You can see all the houses off in the hills over there. And then, of course, the Seattle skyline right behind me.
This is an epic way to do the city, y'all. Cuz we could be crowded on a boat, a tour boat or something. But this, we have it all to ourselves. We're all alone out here taking in all the views. And then over there, where all that industrial rusted stuff is, that's Gas Works Park, which is a famous park here in Seattle. Definitely recommend checking that out. We just passed by what is apparently the smallest houseboat in Washington, but there's a bunch of other houseboats on the dock that are much more house-like. Some of them are actually pretty nice, and of course, they're sitting right next to these very fancy, very expensive-looking yachts.
Well, this is pretty cool and all, but I think there is one thing missing. We just noticed they have a little uh Bluetooth speaker over here. Y'all know what that means. Time to pump up the jams. Pump it up. Well, it turns out we're actually in a duck boat. That's your joke? Was that good? That wasn't good, huh? I don't know. that was supposed to like oh, all right. Okay, see? He was so offended by my joke. I guess it wasn't good. Tough crowd.
Looking at our gauge here, we're at a cool 102, I think. Yeah, 102, not bad. What a weird experience, you guys. It's just so strange being in this hot tub and then completely surrounded by water. It's kind of magnificent. It is awesome and you know we could not have picked a more beautiful day. Well, party's over. We're heading back in. Wah. American navigated. Let's see how you do, sir. Don't hit the tiny houseboat over there whatever you do. It's so cute.
Well, that was an absolute blast. Can recommend. It was so chill once I realized like how slow everyone's going and that catastrophe was not right around the corner. It was so chill and fun. You do have to rent towels and you are not allowed to consume alcohol on the boat. They don't allow alcohol on the boat. Yeah, and they do have a change room. So, now you know all the info you need to know to come and recreate this awesome adventure. But next up we're going to head to a spot that's going to have possibly an even more epic view of the city. Huh? Yeah, a very different perspective. We are going all the way up to the top.
Started at the bottom. Now we're here. But it is not going to be the Space Needle, y'all. It's somewhere else. Move over Space Needle, y'all. We have come to the Sky View Observatory. This sucker is way taller. We are 902 ft in the air, I believe. The Space Needle is only around 600 ft. And boy does it give you some epic views of the city and you get to actually see the Space Needle versus staring out from the Space Needle looking at this. And if you head to the south side, you're going to see a lot less buildings but far more nature. In fact, you can see Mount Rainier way off in the distance.
Yeah, and are we lucky out with the visibility during this trip or what? We've just had so many beautiful sunny days. I almost don't believe that Seattle gets rainy. Kind of creepy but we noticed that there are spiders up here on the outside of the window. Can you believe it? Those guys are all the way up here. What are they doing? Why? How? catch bugs up here? I don't know. There's a whole world happening up here, man? We thought that this was going to be a bit more of like a lounge, like chill and kind of fancy with like elegant music playing, maybe a band or
something, but it's absolutely nothing like that. It feels like we're in a school building or like a government building or something. But as you've already seen, they do have little tables that you can sit at. We actually paid uh an extra $20 per person to reserve one of those seats and I don't think we should have done that because they are all clearly open. You don't even need them. You can just sit at any one of them. No one's going to care. But they do have a little cafe bar thing over there so you can get drinks when you're up here. Do we Didn't we get drinks with our ticket or something? We get a $15 voucher.
Let's go put that to use. This is what a $15 cocktail looks like 900 ft up in the air. We both got Manhattans. All right. Cheers. I've already spilled mine, so Yep, you have. But try not to. Okay, whatever. Good enough. This is great to have one of my favorite cocktails, one of my favorite fellas, and one of the best views ever. One of your favorite What the heck? Okay. Just so my viewers know. You didn't respond. I was like, you took that well. not process that when you said it. It's a good one though. I mean, it's a joke, right?
It's okay if it's not. You can tell me. Give me another one of these and then I'll tell you. [snorts] So right down there on the waterfront is the Seattle Great Wheel. I think we're going to head down there next for a little sunset. We made it down to the pier. Ferris wheel is right behind us. We are not going to go on it because we've spent enough money in this city and we've already seen it from the best vantage point possible. I don't think it's going to be much better. But it's cool to get a different vantage point where you can see the Ferris wheel and then the skyline glowing with the sun setting.
It's pretty cool. But that is going to conclude our time in Seattle. Not because we are done with the area, but because we are done with the city. We need to get out in some nature now, y'all. And we are going to do that in the stupidest way we could possibly think of. Once again, we are going to be taking out a vehicle that we have never driven before. But it is very uh to a vehicle that we have driven many times before and it was always a disaster. Ooh, what could it possibly be? It could be so many things. Foreshadowing. Yeah, every vehicle we drive is a disaster, so. As always, if you have your own must-do things that you must do in Seattle, write them down in a comment below. But also, do it.
Whatever. It's the end of the video, we're losing it, you guys. But also, we will, as usual, link to everything that we did in the description below, so you can check it out for yourself. Yep. And we have been here quite a few times over the years, y'all, so if you want even more things to do, we'll link to some of our old videos as well. I think that's it. I can't hold this camera anymore. It's very heavy. I'll help, yeah. Okay, goodbye, adventurers. We'll see you on the road.
