All right, we are finally playing Onim Musha Way of the Sword. I've been looking forward to this because even though it's a demo, I'm just excited in general because I grew up playing the first two games on PS2, right? Let's just say it's been a while. How about that? I'll be 40 next year. Oh no. But likes, views, all that means a lot for me to cover the full game when it drops. Even though it's in the busiest month I have ever seen. Holy. This is going to be the biggest gauntlet ever. I feel like in my whole YouTube journey.

Anyways, fam, love you all. Let's go and get this is Kiomizera Temple. That really was instant. It just begins. All right, here we go. All right, let's purify this place and see if that won't wake up Gauntlet Lady. Man, the Ari engine has been so good this year, right? We had Pragmata, then we had Reququum before that, and then you got the announcement for Veronica, which let me tell you right now, it looked even better. It's like somehow some way, right? All right. First, I'm playing this one, but I own the first two on PS2 long time ago, right?

Sprint. Here we go. This feels like, you know, when I played Pragmata earlier this year, the same kind of feeling in the movement. I mean, it's all the oriented, so it makes sense, right? But interesting. Climb over. All right. Is this like the yellow tape or whatever? That's or the yellow paint in some games. That's funny. Although it's not yellow. Just the bastards. time left. All right. Stamina and break. Here we go. Near exhausted enemy. depleted stamina will recover over time like the well here we go red souls. Here we go.

Make various enhancements available. Okay. Remember the originals you like absorb this stuff, didn't you? Interesting. Okay. Anything else back here or was that it? Hey, so far so good. Can I break these? Remember the first few had like that fixed camera angle thing? It's like Resident Evil kind of, you know? I used to love those games. It is very quiet though. Like what is about to go down? Saw that noise. Oh, they're hitting that. Okay. Want me to block? All right.

Not too bad. All right, we got yellow souls. All right. Restores health. That's the top thing. Got you. How's it going? Hey, the combat's very smooth. I'm feeling it already. Two handed attack. Stay there. Hey, I dealt with the monsters. Let me through. Thank you. We'll unblock the gate right away. what this game kind of feels like kind like the Neo games in a way like if Neo was made an RE engine style setup. That's kind of what it feels like. At least right now, right? Thank you, samurai. If those things had broken through the gate, none of the people taking refuge here would have had a chance. It's horrible. The temple grounds are just a killing field full of monsters.

How can this happen? This is a temple. It's blasphemy. If the entrance is this bad, the inside must be a mess. Can I explore it all? Is it just like a set level? It seems like it's like a set level piece or whatever. Like, can I not go back there? game. I'm going to explore as much as I can. Right. Got some dialogue. That stage is going to haunt my nightmares. I can't stop thinking about it. One thing I'm kind of surprised about is the fact that there's actually a demo available, right? Cuz the last few Resident Evil games didn't get one.

Pragmata had one, but it was kind of like a I think I skipped that one, actually. I love the full game, though. Let's see. Gradually restores health for a short duration. Okay. Consumables on the bottom. Got you. All right. Open up, please. Quickly. Guess we're going that way. I'll break all these. You never know, right? Break everything in any Capcom game. also kind of has that like I guess it's like the movement just matches a lot like Pragmata, Dead Rising, a little bit of Resident Evil as well. I guess it all makes sense though.

It's all the same thing though. I never thought I'd make it back here alive. But watches over me. Is it really that bad out there? There's nothing but fiends and horror beyond here. If you mean to pass through, I urge you reconsider. Fiends, huh? Just what I'm looking for. Definitely surprised the demo is so early on. Right. The malice is thickest over there. Now, how do I get there? Main menu.

It's just a map though. Okay. The map reminds like Silh Hill F a little bit. All right. Make your way to the stage. Is that it? Move curse around. How big is this area? All right. So, this demo may just be like all of this if I had to guess. I mean, so far it I mean way better than I was anticipating, right? All right. Destination. Can I like sidetrack it all? We got like over here. Oh, it's a dead end. Never mind. very linear, but I don't mind that. And this game has me hyped. I'm telling you, I'm not dying here. All right, parries and the blazing state. Here we go. Thought I just did that earlier. I was just blocking. I guess it just time. Okay. Uh, let's see. Parry enemy strikes. Fill your blaze gauge. greater damage. Okay, come on, buddy.

Wait for you. But I could just fight you straight up, but whatever. No, you don't. Oh, the thing on the bottom right's glowing. Okay. Well, I can't like cancel it. I guess we like need to use it right now, but I can't. Uh, details. What does this say? Basic controls. I like how it's a tutorial on how to actually get to like the tutorial and stuff and the tips. That's funny. All right. Reflex dodges and reflex combos. Avoid taking damage. I mean, I don't have to do all this, but this does look kind of nice.

Oh, that's clean. What? All right. Found him. Come on. I like it. Oh, by the way, I have dismemberment off just for this video. I don't know. YouTube does not like that at all. May try for the full game, though. We'll see. Maybe they loosen up a little bit. I don't know. Oh, there's arrows, too. Wait a minute. Let me back up. Create some space here. Don't take any chip damage. Kind of nice. Okay. that this game so far is amazing. What if you can par arrow? Let's try it really quick. I'm going to just stand still. Let's try it out. Oh, let's do it again. Clean. I like it. I'm coming up for you, buddy. Hang tight. And so far, I mean, this is everything I was hoping for, right? It's so nice. Anything back here? One thing I'll say is a lot of the Capcom games on this engine, they all have a similar feel, but they're really easy to capture. They look really nice as well. Uh, what is this thing back here? It's been a while since I played the OG games, but yeah, they I mean had them on Steam a while back, but you just feel the flame again.

I'm playing on normal, by the way. It's like no difficulty setting. I think there's like story and action. I just chose action cuz it was harder. But so far, it seems okay, but I don't want to like talk too soon, right? All it takes is like one new enemy pops up and I get maxed out. All right, lesser defense talisman. Okay, I'm going to hold on to these. These go away. Maybe the top one does too. I have no idea. Reduces health and stamina damage from enemy attacks for a short duration. I'm going to save that for whatever. I don't know. Can I break this? Nope. What was the map show? Making progress.

Now, you can go back there, it looks like. But how do you do that? maybe like an ability or something. I don't know. Or maybe it's off in the demo. I have no idea. Nothing up here. Yeah, it's just all like linked together. Okay, we're chilling so far. Not too bad. All we got pouches. That's the main hill. Okay. Can be picked up in your travels or replenish from your storehouse. Okay. So, you got to find them. So, even if you rest somewhere, you don't get them back. That's different. Okay. I'm guessing this is what these are. Oh, for storehouse. This is like Stormway Got You. Now that's very neoesque if I'm being honest.

Which I don't mind. Those games are amazing. It's just like so quiet. I have everything on like music and everything's on. It's just super quiet. The game looks good though. I'll give him that. All right. Deflect. Oh, deflect plus X. What does this do? Oh, so if you're like very confident, you can go for Got you. Deplete enemy stamina by a lot. That was it right there. I think I just did it. Everything dies in like couple hits. I mean, so far it seems pretty straightforward.

Wait, we got two and two. Oh, I can just go around. Here we go. use. What does it do? Oh, that's sick. What in the world? Environmental attack. Sign me up. And you can do that little teleport thing or probably teleport just like quick rush down move. I can just loop around you as well. That's funny. Coming through. How's it going? Same as last time. I wish it was like a summertime game. like maybe even August I would take, you

know, that would be sick. All right, what we got here? I can break this like it like stands out a little bit, you know. Examine spirit mirror unlocked. Storehouse. Okay, what's it say? Save your progress at any time. Spirit mirror restore your Oh, wow. Making contact with it just restores you automatically, but you don't get hills. It seems like it's just like from the storehouse stuff you have put away. Anything you cannot care be sent there. All right. What is this right here?

Yeah, there's only two difficulties. I chose action. I'm not sure like what the What's this even do? Oh, for beginners, action prompts will be set to on. Whatever that means. All right. Save my game here, I guess. Fact, you can save in a demo is kind of nice. Storehouse. I don't think I really have anything to actually take out right now cuz I have like three extra slots in the actual item thing and then haven't used any hills yet. So, all right, we saved at least. What's that? time. Don't bring them.

Hurry to the stage. Faster. The power of Fiona is within your eyes as well. It must have been awakened by the dark mass you absorbed. What was that thing? The concentration of the malice in this area along with memories of the cruelty that created it. To purify this temple, you'll need to find the source of this vision. Right, Gauntlet Lady. Enough of that. If you're awake, I've got questions. I refuse. You listen here. I want answer questions or otherwise to gauntlet lady.

I was briefly awake thanks to the energy of that dark mass but now I am not. Hey Uh, what? Head for the high platform at the temple. Okay. Up here. It's trying to tell me something. Have a vision. Let's see. Hidden by the human eye. Oh. threads. What are these attached to? Like how it's like the exact video we just saw. Mirror image. This thing is making the threats. Well, now I'm curious. Can I go back at all? Because was that spot down here?

Like I'm tempted to go back there. I wonder if the enemies reset, right? Is this like a soulslike type thing? Hold on. Let me see if there's anything around this area first before I double back and just see if there's anything I possibly miss. You know, some of these breaking, but there's like nothing there. Okay. Dead end there, too. Okay. Yeah, there was like that one wall. The only reason I'm thinking about like going back really quick just before we keep going is the fact that it seemed kind of prominent a shortcut at all. No. There's no cool down for this which is nice. Okay, let me run back really quick. It is Yeah, it's right down here. It's like the spot all the way down. Yeah, very narrow path, so maybe not too much going on.

The enemies are back, which is fine. I don't mind fighting them again. Bring it on, buddy. But there's more this time. I just realized. Uhoh. Get all those. I could use this. Can I throw them like across the way? Like would they go all the way there? Almost. Right. Let me just kill them really quick just in case. The fact that there's like two extra enemies makes me think like something could have went down back here if I double back.

We're done here. All right. So far so good. I think that's how it's done. I think I've been hit a few times, but I my health is fine. I already like absorbed some of it. But that was also like in the old games as well. It's like just kind of part of it, right? Yeah, right down here. I just there's anything on the other side of this wall really quick. It's kind of eating at me a little bit. Nothing there. There's more back here as well. Just fuel for the There is more. I just realized that. Did I get them all?

Why are there more this time around? What? Might have to fight you. Well, I mean, I guess I could, right? It can't hurt like for practice. All right, we're going back. I have to check this out, right? It just seems like there's got to be something here like maybe that Metroid Vania style thing where you get like an ability and you can come back next time and find things you missed or whatever. I don't know. It's funny. I was playing Pragmata like last night. I'm still playing it. I get 100% right now. So, the control scheme is very similar. I mean, there's no hacking in this game obviously, but

still, you know what I mean? Doubling and back. Yeah, it feels like Neo more than it does because like the first two games have like the fixed camera angles and then I think the third one kind of went away from that. Then there was like that one that came out after that as well. They didn't actually do anything here. I mean, I think I'm good. Yeah, these things keep resetting, but there's like nothing in them. Maybe it's like a random chance you get like an item. I have no idea. All right, I think we're good. There's another one right there. Yeah, it seems like Well, that's the wrong thing. I keep thinking like touchpad should be the thing. This is like a whole separate area. Interesting.

H Oh, wait. What is this? Oh, it's one of those now. I got two of those. Nice. I'm going to save all those because if I die, I'll just respawn back there, I'm sure. But what is that thing? Oh my god. Pistol. Yo, instant takedown. Let's go. Going to roll or what? I'll wait for them. Oh, they're backing up. Maybe they can't even come over here. Is it like that? I'll come to y'all. Come on. Roll. Not you, buddy. It's like in the exact same spot, too. That's funny. Unintentional, but I'll take it. How did you get up there? And how am I supposed to actually kill you?

Coming to you. All right, we got a lot of area here. Uh what was the map show? Pretty wide open. Okay, the spot we're trying to get to is right there, but nothing there. Oh, by the way, I'm playing on PC. Oh, we got this barrage blade barrage. Okay, so this is just like a combo essentially. Got you. Well, I mean, we don't have to use that, but I think I just did it earlier by mistake. Actually, different attack than the one you started with. Okay, so it's basically just like Yeah, I was kind of doing that earlier, I think, by accident. Found them. Really? That's it right there. God stenish. They really are taking prisoners.

Got three of those total. I think the max, what does it say? Four. Yeah, four. Okay. I'm going to hold on to those just in case I actually need them later on. I think right now, initial impressions, I'm highly impressed. I wasn't expecting much from this. The fact that they released it so early, too, kind of shows confidence in their actual, I don't know, developing, I guess. Which so far I am definitely impressed. Can I break these two? I feel like you could put Leon S. Kennedy in here somewhere. You know, it would feel the same. I feel like that'd be funny.

Looks like there's like a dead end this way. Yeah, you can't go there. Everything else is kind of closed up. Yeah, it's very linear, but it's all good. It's also just a demo, so I can't really complain too much. I guess I just like to fully check out everything the game has to offer, as much as I can before it even launches, right? What's kind of odd is like the entire demo so far is just like us learning everything. I guess it's just like maybe it's a boss. I have no idea. That'll be my estimation. I mean, that's usually how it actually plays out in these types of

things, but we're going to find out. What is this? Oh my god. Fuel for the coordinates. What was that? Okay. You like that? Very odd. All right. Health is back to normal. All right, we're good. What is back here? Not too bad. Now we have four of those. I hear commotion. I'm actually impressed by like the design of everything too, like the character models. I mean, we're very familiar with this engine. So, I didn't expect it to look bad at all, you know? But this is even better than I was expecting. All right,

Oh, that would have been perfect. Well, didn't use it now, but whatever. I'm breaking these because they look like you should be breaking them, right? But I'm getting absolutely nothing from them. I don't know. They're trying to like open this, but what's even back there? Anything at all? I'm going to heal if I need to, but my health I'm not really too worried about. I can also get health from like certain types of kills and everything, so we'll see. Nothing else back here. Really? Anything at all? Nope.

No interaction there. Dead end back here. All right. The other one's going way over this side. Okay. Wow. All right. The game is very quiet. I'll tell you that right now. Like I wasn't expecting Wait, can I actually like make a shortcut here? I can. Interesting. Don't mind if I do. Oh, it won't open. Never mind. What does the map show right there? Oh, never mind. That's something else. getting that blacksmith Wukong kind of vibe to it a little bit. Not as fast-paced as that game, but Oh, there's more of these. Let it cut them down. I guess you just pick them up. All right, we're good.

Set the storehouse symbol looks like on the actual item icon there. Okay, I keep scanning just in case it like picks up anything else, but so far nothing except those like major objectives. Did I get all these? Hold on. Yeah, we're good. Anything else back this way? Nope. All right, we should be okay. Assassinations. Well, I just do one of those. Walk it out. I guess it can't hurt. Don't mind me. Just creeping around. I love this. That's cool that if you can't pick up everything, right? Like if you overflow or whatever, it just puts it in your storehouse. I love that so much. everybody dead. I guess I don't know what's going on. My assumption is this is like near the beginning of the game. Maybe the fact that it's like showing like tutorials and all that. I'm assuming it just fuel for the gates. I would be surprised if there's like maybe uh barely worth my time. What does that even say? Hold on. And what's it say? Array of souls to materialize. It wasn't the actual full opening. It feels like we're just kind of dropped in. My assumption is it's probably like a prologue you missed. You know what I mean? Like maybe a 30 or 40 minute type sequence. That would be my guesstimation, but I really don't know. I'm no game designer. I've just been playing games my whole life. I don't know. Is there a boss back here? Oh no. Your boy's kind of nervous. It's been kind of chill so far if I'm being honest. I'm due to get maxed out at any minute. this feels too straightforward. What's about to happen? Cut scene or anything?

The two celestials. Okay. Yellow souls. All right. Oh, that's so sick. What in the world? Got to have the gauge filled up, though. Okay. Kind of reminds me of the gauntlet. We got both of the things off the actual seal thing or whatever it was. So, I call it a door, but it's like just a sealed area, I guess. I don't know.

Pull the gauge. Not too bad. All right, almost back to max health. We got all our items still. The gauge on the right is all the way filled up. Okay, now we just head on back, right? That was a boss fight kind of. What is all the uh got a lot of dots on the map right there around me? This is Wait.

Think I was supposed to collect, but I didn't see anything. Holding down L2 just in case, right? Maybe it's also my footsteps. I don't know. I haven't really looked. Let me see if it actually follows me in here. Let's take a look. It Okay, it's footsteps. I was like, what's going on here? Can I chop this down or anything? It's kind of the things I've been collecting. I guess not. Okay. That Ken eats everything. If you're too close when he feeds, he'll eat you, too. I'm here to eat humans, not get eaten. There's someone there. I just know I was there. Dead. Ah. Oh, I tried to parry that way too late.

I was able to cancel right there. That's actually kind of clean. Yeah. So, it's like I was in like mid animation of like attacking and then I was able to like cancel out and do like little uh grapple attack with a I guess 24 or triangle circle if you would. Where's the main area at? All the way back down. Here we go. Well, the cool thing is Well, I should probably like save my game. We've already checked this out. I believe it was like locked from the other side and then Oh my god. Damn monsters. Are there no survivors? Countering grabs. Here we go. Grab reversal. Right before it lands, part of the enemy will glow blue. Got you.

I'll take you with me. Oh, that's sick. You just hurl him. That's funny. Anything back here at all? This is just like looping back around, isn't it? It's the same area, I think. Let me double check. Let me just check back here really quick. It can't hurt. Have not been back here. Never mind. Lesser might. Okay. This is looped around. I think we're okay. What about to the left? Another item. Luster defense. Okay. What's funny is I'm probably going to end the demo without using any of those.

I mean, if I'm lucky, right? We'll see. robot down in there. There's like a box you can break, but why is this even there? It's like I'm kind of drawn to it that the It's like more daylight now. Interesting. Well, now it's faded again. I don't know. Got that washed out look. I don't mind it. Kind of fits the setting a little bit. It's way too quiet. We've already got this one over there. that was hanging down. Okay, I think we're good now. Like the main spot's to the left up here, I believe.

I'm back here. Which way is the stage? think it was right in front of me. Was it? Yes, it is. Okay. At least we can save right here from what I can tell. H. Storehouse. I mean, I got everything I need right now. wouldn't save my game. It can't hurt. Overwrite. I'd never overwrite, but it's a demo, so we'll be all right. Yo, look at them just staring at me. I wish would stop you at least. All right, boss fight time. They wait just got like see their attacks a little bit. Got to study the movement. Maybe probably gonna die. Oh god. Oh my gosh. You're weak. So damn weak. You fraud. I really have. I didn't learn much there, but we did get maxed out. We're running this back. We're going to get this done. It's only a matter of time. Really?

Purple means plenty of souls. Okay, you have to like pick and choose. Interesting. I mean, I don't like need the souls right now. So, that's a lot of damage. That's I'll never get sick of this. Let's go, Maki. What could be more fun than dancing with death? All right. Right there, I guess. No cut scene or anything. That was crazy. So, now what? That was all they got. Okay. awesome. So, that was my third attempt. First one I got just absolutely destroyed on. Then I ran it back without any kind of hills and then I just got it done the third one. The health bar, right? Playing on like the harder of the two difficulties and it felt almost too easy in a way. I guess I was expecting like a Soulslike type feel, but that's kind of what it was, but it didn't feel like it was too challenging.
