Today's video will be about my daily settings. A setup is essentially a pre- made decision to make my day run smoothly. I've already filmed a whole video about how I live a disciplined life. I'll leave a link to it, but one of the comments said, " Just make a vlog and show me how you do your daily setup." So, let 's start here at 6:30. My first setting is to wake up 30 minutes in advance, at least 30 minutes before my son. This gives me enough time to finish my sentences. This is Nathaniel Branden's 31- week writing program, and I'm currently on week 16. I love starting my day like this because it sets the intention and mood for what kind of person I want to be today. Of course, start your day with
something you love, but I advise you not to pick up your phone, okay? I have to remind myself every morning not to go into it. This is truly a device that hypnotizes you. This is pretty much my son's standard breakfast. It consists of eggs, of course, and some carbohydrate that I made, like pancakes. These are high-fiber pancakes that I made 2 days ago. What I like about this mix is that you can make a sweet or savory sandwich, depending on what you want. An easy way to add more protein is yogurt. I like to add fresh and frozen berries because when you mix everything together, you get a delicious mixture that's similar to
ice cream. Highly recommend. And I usually give my son some cold fruit for lunch. Since it's so hot in Los Angeles, there's no point in putting anything hot on. On the contrary, I want the food to stay cold and fresh. We have some ravioli. There 's always a boiled egg, yogurt, and something crunchy there, because that's what wants right now. I just dropped my son off at school, and now it's time to tidy up the house. This is where I like to use my cleaning timer. I like to set aside 10 or even 15 minutes dedicated exclusively to cleaning. I like using a physical timer because I take it much more seriously. When it's on, I can only do what I'm doing: whether it's cleaning, working, or whatever else I decide to do -
when the timer says it's time to do it, I stick to it. 15 minutes have passed, and now the kitchen is sparkling. That's all that was needed. I think sometimes cleaning can get you into a kind of " loop" state. You know, you start with one room, and then you just can't stop. I feel like this gives me clear boundaries of when it's time to clean and when it's time to stop and move on in the morning. Want to take a walk? I'm one of those people who is a little crazy about my 10,000 steps. When I first set this goal, I was extremely obsessed with it, but now it's become a habit. I just know I'll get my 10,000 steps in. I think people assume that you have to
walk 10,000 steps at a time, but that's not necessarily the case. You can do this in small portions. Technically, you can just walk for 15 minutes three times a day and easily hit 10,000. I like to go for a 30-40 minute walk in the morning with my dog, and by the time I get back, I have about 6,000 steps. So I can easily cover the remaining 4,000 while walking around the house. So, before I get down to work, I wanted to have a little chat with you, because this has really been a very stressful time in my life. I think the creation of these basic systems has been a real salvation, but there remains that invisible burden that we all carry. You understand what I mean.
This brings me to my sponsor, BetterHelp. I began to understand that what was most exhausting was all these hidden things that I had to constantly keep track of. I usually feel very satisfied at the end of the day, thinking, "We did it!" But lately I've been haunted by the thought: "Oh my God, what did I forget?" Did I miss something? And that's when I realized it was time to sign up for therapy. Having this separate space in therapy became really important for me to really process all these conflicting responsibilities. BetterHelp makes starting therapy very easy and affordable. You simply fill out a quick questionnaire and you are matched with a licensed
therapist. You can communicate via text, phone, or video sessions, depending on your schedule and social media. So, if you're looking for extra support to ease that invisible psychological burden, I highly recommend BetterHelp. You can use my link betterhelp.com/jen. This is a better help for a 10% discount on your first month. I will also leave this link in the description under the video. I'm terribly hungry. So, I'll show you one of my usual lunches. This sandwich is exquisite. I know, it's a big statement, but it's incredibly delicious. This egg salad sandwich contains two boiled eggs, red onion, a little mayonnaise, mustard, and a dash of hot pepper. I love hot peppers. Oh, it adds the perfect spiciness and sour crunch. Some tomatoes and
lettuce from the farmers market. I love this sandwich. I could eat it every day, which I actually do with pleasure. This became my favorite lunch. Mm. He is truly phenomenal. This is literally the perfect sandwich. And it also helps me use up all those boiled eggs I make in the morning. Right now I'm just having an afternoon energy slump. So I usually take that as a sign to get up and go to the gym. In an ideal world, I would go to the gym every day. It just makes me feel good. Although, it wasn't always like that. I think this habit formed in my early 20s. So, I guess it's been a decade of training the brain to crave the release of endorphins. I do a similar program almost every day.
It starts with a day for the lower body, then a day for the upper body, lower again, upper. You get the point. I use the Trainwell app: just open it, do the exercises, and you're done. I never exhaust myself physically to an extreme level . On the contrary, it's very rare that I sweat at all in the gym. It never feels like heavy breathing. Sure, a little cardio wouldn't hurt, but I don't like doing that. So, if I knew I had to breathe hard every workout, I would avoid it. For me, the best thing is to be consistent in what I love, even if it's very moderate. There are times when I make an effort, but I don't know. I just really go to the gym for the atmosphere.
I also really like my gym. I like the people who work there. I like the people I see there. So, it's kind of a social element for me. Looking good at the gym helps. I always have comfortable sports gear that I feel good in. I often even put on makeup in the gym, because when I see my reflection, I think: " Oh, beautiful." You know, you have to cheer yourself up a little bit, because sometimes when I come to the gym and I look like a monster, I think, "I need to go home." Let's play with fashion a little, because now most of my looks are planned in advance, because I realized that I'm always late when I choose clothes on the go.
I hate rushing to find an outfit at the last minute. Therefore, if I can, I always prepare in advance. So I thought I'd show you my process, because I have a busy week ahead of me. Let's start with my birthday. Here is the dress I bought. It is in berry tones. Well, let's try it on? It looks like the image of the birthday girl. I think I definitely need to tighten the straps a little because they are too long, but I like the way it turns out. I'll choose these sandals for shoes, because I'll be constantly going in and out of the house, the event will take place both indoors and outdoors. The birthday outfit is ready. I think this will be the basis of my look for the music festival. Portola takes place in San
Francisco, and it's always very cold there. So I'll wear a long-sleeved top. And I'll add some low-rise jeans to it which I still need to hem. Consider me crazy, but I also took this hat. Oh my god, it looks like Danny Gow's. I imagine myself at the festival and I will be so warm. I just imagine the wind blowing and loud music playing. Yes. I still need to pick out a jacket. Maybe I'll be too hot in this, but with Portola you never know for sure. But yes, there is something casual, free, and fun about it. Very San Francisco-esque, especially with that fancy hat. It's the exact same color as my top. I love it when everything is matched to the tone. This will be my image on Portola. When I'm wearing white and spending time
with my kids, the chances of my shirt getting dirty are very high. So, this seems like a good intermediate option. I wore a nice striped sweater, simple dark denim shorts, and these boots that are very easy to put on and take off. This puts me in the autumn mood. Finally, this is for my upcoming campaign. We are filming holiday content. I know. Since I'm shooting for Christmas, red seemed quite appropriate. And it always looks very impressive. So when you see this in December, you'll know I planned it back in September. When I shoot for a brand, there are always certain rules. I can never wear anything with a small pattern because it creates an optical illusion when taking a photo. This looks very distracting.
Therefore, solid colors are always welcome. I think this is a cute holiday outfit for the campaign. I'm filming this at home, so I can literally wear anything, you won't see my legs, so I don't have to worry about that. I think a side parting always looks good with this top. And a little gold jewelry-and the look is ready. I feel like the best images come to me when I'm not nervous, when my nervous system is calm and I'm relaxed. The future "me" will be very glad that I created these images. And now that I have all these outfits prepared, I have a special section in my closet where I hang everything I've planned in advance. Good evening, friends. Time to warm up. It seems like a
year has passed since I said I wanted to do the splits. Am I close to this goal? No. Unfortunately, no. I think because this habit seems so new, I still have to make an incredible effort to just not go to bed. Because as soon as I put my son to bed, I'm terribly tired. The last thing I want to do is stretch. But I know I'll So I have a standard stretching program that I will put on the screen. I don't back down from it, because if I try to do something new, I'll convince myself not to do anything at all . I think, "Oh, no, this is. The resistance to change is so strong." And my resistance to the urge to stretch is also so strong that I have to do the same thing.
I really like stretching at the end of the day because it's a great way to end the day. It's like a big period or exclamation point at the end of the day. As if that's all. And when I'm stretching, it's much easier for me to put my phone across the room. It seems easier to do something good for yourself when the last thing I did was also useful. And I always feel much better afterwards, and I think I sleep more soundly when I stretch. I feel so incredibly relaxed after stretching. I never regret it. It's always worth it. Honestly, this is the time of night when I usually start reading. I.I read until I can't keep my eyes open anymore. But today I can't keep my eyes open anymore. I'm just going to sleep now. I am exhausted. It is 10:30.
Time to go to bed and put away the phone. Thank you very much for watching, and if you want, write in the comments about some of your habits, I would be very interested to know. I'm always very curious about how other people live. Well, thank you all for watching, see you in the next video. Goodbye.
