A Family of Roe Deer Overcomes Tragedy in the Wild

So we've got a poor little roe fawn over Locksted way. Our intel suggests that two fawns were born on Sunday. It's really common that fawns are left for long periods. However, this one does look unwell. It does look subdued. It definitely needs to be picked up, brought into the vets ASAP. So we're on route to go get it now. Mom was around. Was born Sunday? Yes, she's still around. I was going to say you've got a lovely garden. I can see why the deer come in. around, so I can hear it.

It's not doing well at all. Oh, bless you, little sweetheart. Yeah, you're not well at all. Come on. Come on, you're not going to survive even with mom present. Come on, sweetheart. Oh, come on. I know. We've got mom kicking.

All my years, I'm not sure I've I've been in this situation where we've got mom so prominent. I feel so bad for taking this one. But like we've got no other choice. She's so poorly. I've been doing this job a long time. And you can normally go to a job and you can do what you need to do. It's it's really hard going to this job and seeing that fawn so poorly. We'll do what we always do and we'll just try our best.

Incredibly cool. Unfortunately, despite our vet's best efforts, the little fawn was too far gone. Should be. The next day, we returned to search for the second fawn. And thankfully, So, this one looks healthy. This is demonstrating typical behavior for a young roe fawn. We know mom's around. She hasn't abandoned this one. This one looks healthy. We set some trail cams to keep tabs on the lone fawn. And the trail cams showed us something magical. Mom had a third fawn. And she was never far from their side. A happy family together in the wild.
