And then, like, he'll eat it. Yeah. Right? Yeah. So, you've never seen an alligator? No, I've never seen alligator. Really? Until right now. Cuz we didn't have them the last time you there's no alligators in New York. No, they're in the sewers. Oh. Did you never heard of that? Alligators in the sewers, old urban legend. Uh I would always go looking in my the sewers for alligators cuz years and years ago, like in the '60s and '50s, people would
buy baby alligators when they were on trips to Florida and bring them up to New York, put them in a fish tank, and the story goes when they started to get a little too big, I like how you doing it. No, I like it. Awareness, situational awareness. Hey, listen, you ride the subways? Yeah. You got to have that situational awareness, man. All right, so anyway, the people would bring these gators home, they'd get a little too big, or they'd lose interest in them, and they'd flush them down the toilet. So, that led to the urban legend that in the sewers of New York City, because it's a dark and hot and, you know, Yeah, it stays there. there's gators living in there. Now, I don't think that's true.
Although, it'd be really cool. How cool that you don't remember this reference, but some of you do. If there was Remember Steve Irwin, the Crocodile Hunter? He was Australian. All right, mate. Yeah, he's a real fun guy. Can you imagine if there was a New York City version of the Croc Hunter who talked like this? Yeah, I'm going to go into the sewers. We're going to look for the some of the gators today. All right, I'm a This is fun, right? This is so fun. I'm still fun uncle. Totally. I'm the funcle. Let me tell you. All right, let's go have a Is that a pig?
Oh, that's a bird. You never know around here. I'm going to You go up that way. I think you've been brave enough. so, too. No, you're good, man. You're real good. Okay, here she is. So, she if you feel Are you feeling sassy? Do you want to come all the way across the bridge and see what she's up to or you good? I think I'm good. All right, cool. Well, that's that. There you go, kid. Here is Now, this is interesting. This, my friends, looks like a little sago palm is growing. This is actually a cycad.
Just a I believe this could be a sago palm. In the meantime, look at that. She's got a nice meal. He had a big meal. She might finish that, go over there and attack him. Who knows? The really cool thing, though, is that I get to hang out with my niece. I get to hang with my family cuz I'm like the weird one in the family. I left. Yeah, you're like the Floridian. I know, it's so weird, right? I'm like Florida man. It's so strange. But, anyway, here I am. Here she is. I'm very honored that she decided to spend extra day with her uncle. I got raccoon schmutz on my hands.
Not good. There'll be no hugging my niece at this moment. I'm going to clean up the Look. Let's go see what he's doing. Oh my god, it's so Doesn't get old for me, Avie. No, I'm good. At this point, you might have done all you need to do. But, here he goes. He's going to try and consume this. Yeah, yeah, this is good. Look at that handsome guy eating his raccoon. Oh, yeah. This is so much fun, Avie. You're missing out. I am. You could be sitting with me under this cypress, squatting down, watching a 13-ft gator mangle his meat.
The raccoon it is. Jesus. Anyway, good times at the old camp. Little family reunion. Got a wedding to go to soon. Bam. I hear uh, I hear my other niece. My other niece is very excited. She might be a bridezilla. I don't know. Am I allowed to say that or is that Whoa, was that too much? Oh god, cut it out. Edit that out. Oh god, we're not allowed to talk about that. No. We're teasing, man. Vicky can take it. I love my little Vicky also.
