Coming up on the weekend view, star of Taylor Swift's viral patient zero music video, Dakota Johnson reveals why she has a zero tolerance policy for most social media except when she's trolling a fellow A-lister online. And Sarah Pollson hits back at her trolls claiming her acting and monster the Lizzy Bordon story loved obsessed does not measure up to Charlie Theron's Oscar winning performance of the same role. Plus, did a real housewife of New York cross the line by digging up some painful accusations from another housewife's past? Real housewives have no lines. And former Saved by the Bell star Tiffany Thson claims she's sharing her house in LA with a big screen legend who's been dead for three decades.
Spooky. And we've got No Gi joining us at the table. It all starts now on the Weekend. What can I say? You love the view clearly and we love you ladies. Hi everybody. Welcome to the weekend view. Joy couldn't be here today. So, in honor of The View's 30th season, I told her one OG would pinch it for the other OG as guest moderator. So, here I am. And I'm so I'm super excited to do this, by the way. Oh, it's so much fun. This one is my favorite. Yes, cuz it reminds me of the old school days where you just you sit back and you just kind of everyone wears it's fun.
Slippers and you have a good time. And I'm wearing my glasses because I can't see and I didn't have my contacts. All right, so let's get started. Dakota Johnson's new movie Varity with Anne Hathaway opened this weekend and she is going viral you guys in Taylor Swift's music video for Patient Zero, which happens to be one of my favorite songs right now. She was recently on the run through with Vogue podcast talking about why she doesn't have too u much use for social media these days. Take a look. There's some things that I have to do and for work, but I don't really I feel really
uncomfortable with the like constant documenting of people's lives and Yeah. Well, so you can't comment it. It's not a safe space. Anything you comment, people are I did comment on Jen Lawrence's post recently. Did you see that? I saw that you called her a which I love for both of you. I have a really amazing video of her walking down the street and she was like, "Oh, I'm walking by your house and it was I was living in New York filming a movie and so I like opened the top floor window and just was like and I filmed it and it was so funny." Funny to who? Like a in the kindest of ways. Yes. Taking the power back.
Exactly. Like Joy always says, take the power back of the word Yes. So, having said that and what she just did, do you guys ever troll any of your friends on social media? I don't troll my friends, but my friends troll me and it always goes bad. It always goes Like, how? So, I was just in um in like a you know beach in um in Spain and I had a and I put I posted a video of me in a wet suit cuz the water was cold. Mind you, all the Spaniards were in bikini, but I was cold. And so I'm wearing a wet suit and I'm, you know, trying to come out of the water and almost dying. And my best friend trolls me and says, "Did you need a hoist?"
What? That's Lee. I know it. He's a caddyy gay, that And then my followers came to my rescue and they start and they went in on him. They said, "Um, you look like an exumed corpse." They said to him, "Okay, that is so rude. I would like to see you in your bathing costume." And then, "You really shouldn't be criticizing anyone." So, like, I don't even need to do anything. I just sit there and get popcorn and watch it all go down. You know what? I think that podcast interviewer got it right, though. She said, "You know, it's probably not a safe space for you to comment." I have always wished that all versions of
social media had to have your identity on it. I wish everyone had to be verified because I think it would take a ton of the ugliness off of that because the hesitation like anyone here has like when you're verified to go comment on a catty or just evil post, you know, you can't put your name on it. I wish everyone felt that ownership on their words and the power those words have. friend trolling friend. This is like having fun. But when she said that, it's not like you can like I troll you and I you honestly and I have fun in the comments, but it's usually playful and it's the way I wish more people were like teasing the people, you know, and not you flirted with my husband in the comments and you never let me forget it.
It was a picture of Justin and I was like, gosh, that baby's cute, too. But I also could relate to her saying that like she doesn't have much time for social media. I feel like my biggest professional failing because in our jobs we're kind of expected like promote projects and things you're doing. I'm not good at it. I forget to and when I'm having fun, I forget to document life. Like I'll fall victim to the algorithm, but I literally forget to post for like extended periods of time. That's a good thing. I think it is probably.
Whoopy always says don't read the comments and don't mess around with social media. And I take have taken that literally. I rarely read any comments. I'm rarely on social media. I actually have limited my social media to less than an hour a day. I mean, I'm not even on Twitter or I'm not on Facebook. Like, I just I don't do it anymore. And Facebook is interesting to me because it's like excuse older, but there are no like character limits. Older people have a freaking lot of time on their hands to say nasty things to their friends and strangers. But they are kind. They are kind and they are loving.
No, they're not. That's the funny part is they go on and on usually when they're a little ragy and it always says like grandmother of five, Christian cat lover and then they come for you. It's you're like those poor cats. THOSE POOR GRAND. I'M GOING TO TAKE THOSE CATS. It is nuts. So much good content. I mean there's so much like Bad Bunny and Ricky Martin. I'd rather watch him on TV. I don't know. I'm just not into you. just showing your age. Nobody's watching TV anymore.
Oh my goodness. Well, guess what? They are watching movies and they are still watching TV. As a matter of fact, Sarah Pollson is starring in a lot of it. That's right. She was recently here talking about playing serial killer Alien Waros in the series Monster by the way. Amazing. The Lizzie Bordon story. All right. Now, you remember back in the day Charlies Theren won an Oscar for playing Waros in 2004. Do you remember that right here? That was gain like 40 pounds for it and was unbelievable. She was unrecognizable. It was amazing. Okay, so Pollson responded to critics comparing the two of their performances when she stopped by the Shut Up Evan podcast. Take a look.
It's just this sort of weird thing where it's like I didn't set out to do something better than Shirley Sarah and I didn't set out to blast hers off the screen or something as if anyone could ever do that. It's the most glorious performance in the world. The experience of acting, the art of acting is the exploration of human behavior by way of your personal experience and by the way of your interpretation. So this is my interpretation of Eileen Waros based on the research I did and based on my personhood and how it comes out through me. What a beautiful answer. That's beautiful.
Yeah. I mean, and as women, I think we all know that we've had to deal with unfair comparisons constantly, especially in this business. At this table, we're constantly pitted against each other. So and so is cat fighting with such and the other in the press all the time. And I'm like, really? I just had coffee with her. Like it's it's the weirdest thing. And I love how she handled it saying, you know, this is my interpretation. Think about it with men. I mean, you have um uh Nathan Lane, I think she mentioned, playing a part and then another actor playing a part. No one says, "Oh my gosh, you're you're that guy's performance was better than that guy." Doesn't happen as much.
They sort of want to see this infighting with women. I don't think this the comparison even makes sense to me because they're just completely different movies projects, right? Like the one that Chariss Theron did was entirely about what's her nameo. This is about the Lizzie Bordon story and the Eileen Warno story is weaved in and I was obsessed. I bingched it in three nights. I think that everyone says the acting is fiction. Well, and it's also interesting cuz we when we talked to Zoe Kazan who wrote East of Eden and she her own um was it her dad or grandfather Ilia Kazan had uh also produced East of Eden and she said we had such different takes
on the same book like and that tells you like when you approach artwork and you're creating the visual and putting it up on its legs it's like apples and oranges when you try to compare them. Totally. Yeah. And most of the time these people won't even watch. If someone else has done a performance, they don't want to watch it cuz they don't want to take because they're not playing Charlie doing monster. They're playing. Think of how many Spider-Mans there have been. There have been so many men who play. We don't pit them. We're not like the Batman against us. We do and the Marvel comics, you know, the Marvel nerds and the Jack guys. We do.
Yeah. Oh, wait. Maybe we do. Maybe we're the problem. It's us. Oh gosh. We should end it now. I do think about that. I even felt it when I started here and it was it's like it's on me to control my own like what I decide to feel or whatever. But it's like well are you like this host before you were like this and it's like no it's your own seat. This is my they want you in a box. They always want people. So what do we want to be the next 007 Idris Ela? Idris Elba Theo. But he's been up for a minute. addressing. My only argument against is I think if you want a long franchise, he's on the older side to have started out 5 years ago.
Do you like Theo? I mean, he could do anything, but Theo James from the gentleman is my vote. He's so hot. Could a woman ever be Oh, Jane. Jane Bond. It could possibly think about that. I'll be right back. The weekend is sponsored by Albert, your personal financial assistant. All right, welcome back everybody. So, on this week's episode of The Real Housewives of New York, Haley lost it when Aaron brought up a painful part of her past when tabloids were accusing Haley of being a home wrecker. Yep. Take a look.
Why would you come for me and call me boring? Why? You take a situation that took me as a young girl that ruined my life. First of all, it's all out there. You post about it. No, I don't. I You did. You talk about it every day. You're like, "Look at this magazine cover. Oh, I'm on this magazine. I'm on this phone." How are you the victim here? You came for me. I came for you. Jam on the table. That's nice. You Is that nice? You make up.
I see how you move within this. I see how you move. You're a lying ass snake of a and you're garden steak and I'm a mongoose. Oh, good lordy. Oh my god. Never. I was waiting for someone to flip a table. Right. Do they do that anymore in those shows? That is That was Okay, so listen. It's part of the franchise. They want you to get heated and go cuckoo on each other. But is it fair to bring up someone's history or checkered past when you're arguing with someone, especially if they're your friend? Not if they're a real friend. If you're a housewife, it's part for the core. But in real life, no, you never do
that. That's that's just that's not a real friend. She looked like she was in pain. She was very looked like she was in pain. That was like uncomfortable to watch. You're a friend should never do it, but I don't know that anyone should do something. Are they actually Are they I'm I'm not following this New York one. Are they friends? Like sort of. A little They're friend adjacent. Seems social. probably all know each other and certain you do that to a friend adjacent person. No, I mean it's just nasty. You're not winning a point. You're not winning an argument. You're just taking a wound. The reason they're doing it is so that we talk about it online. And PS, this is all, you know, made for TV drama.
Didn't it seem like the girl that was, you know, throwing the shade was a little bit jealous? And you're in this magazine. You're this. Well, she got she's being accused of being the worst thing you can be accused of if you're a housewife, which is boring. The girl who was throwing the shade. So, sheing interesting quickly. I mean, was the home record that was called out a home record? No. Reportedly. Allegedly. Would you believe the headlines? You still don't bring it up. No, but let me tell you something. as the head of this table.
I think you always need to own your past so that nobody can bring it out because before you call me a I'm going to tell you I'm a I like that and proud of it. In an argument, none of you have ever hit below the belt. Oh, let's not start WITH LIKE BECAUSE I have it doesn't make it right. I've said things where I've then said, "Oh, I shouldn't have said that." But you know why I did it? Because I was so hurt that I wanted that person to be hurt, too. Yeah, it's wanting to hurt the person because you're feeling because you're hurt. So, I'm the only one here. Thank you. Oh, no. I've definitely done it. I'm just not going to admit it.
I mean, saying you've never done it like a stretch. All right. Thank you. The Center for Family Studies wanted to find out which couples have the best sex in their lives. And they reported that the group having the most and most satisfying sex are married couples who regularly attend a place of worship. So, So, we'd like to know what is the link between religion and good sex. I don't know, but I met my husband in church and we go to church every Sunday. AND SHE'S NOT EVEN TALKING ABOUT THE CUBE GUY. I don't know.
Okay. I'm getting the EB's thinking of homaly as foreplay. So, what and I hope my husband doesn't watch this or he'll be dragging me to daily. I kind of believe it as a regular church attendee. I do think you destress after leaving. I always feel lighter and better when I leave church. So, if you're not over the biggest reason I'm going to say no to sex is I'm tired or I'm stressed out. So, I'm like if I've alleviated some of that by going to church, then you can have some intimate time.
Well, and I think to get serious, I think intimacy in faith in a marriage is supposed to be honored and sacred. So I think it takes away like when we look at what rules the world now like video and pornography and this it takes away any of the meaning of what it was supposed to be. And I think people that are at least reminded in some faith community what it's supposed to be it allows them to proceed with the sanctity it deserves. Think about how many friends we have who may have been affiliated with the show who are very religious but then a little freaky behind the scenes. Like I do think that is a thing. Paula Ferris used to call it ministry time.
Oh. Who was the minister? My first boyfriend was a pastor's son. And let me tell you, he was wild as all get out. So, you know what? Maybe there's something to do with that. Okay. So, former Saved by the Bell star Tiffany Theon was recently on Page Six radio podcast talking about how there's a lot of Hollywood history in her LA home. Take a look at this. We have a very old house. We don't have a lot of old homes in California, so ours is 103 years old. Have you ever like felt a ghost? Really? Oh, yeah. No, I definitely think there's presence there for sure. That's the thing. I believe in it. So that's why I'm so scared. So we got a little bit of information.
The silent film actress Lillian Gish used to live in our house and I feel like she's kind of still around. Are there like picture frames that move or like do you hear things? Lights, music sometimes. But weirdly enough, and I'll I'll be totally honest, when I started having children, I kind of had a little sort of meeting with anybody who was around, right? Any sort of presence. And I said, "I don't mind that you're here, but I'm in a very vulnerable, very tired state, so please don't scare the crap out of me." Wow. I mean, my question is, if she's a silent actress, how does she know she's there? She I know.
She be quiet. She's moved. So, I live in a house that's also 100 plus years old in Miami in my house, but uh my ex owns a hotel called the Builtmore Hotel, which is supposedly haunted, and it's it was from it's from 1926. Yeah. Wow. Al Capone used to hang out there in the 1920s and there's all the always these, you know, stories that the Alapone ghost lives there. We lived there for a few years. When I was living there and I could like there were nights and I just couldn't sleep. Yeah. I' I'd roam the halls going, "Okay, somebody talked to me. Al, are you here? You know, you want to play poker? What are we doing tonight?" And nothing. But you know, I don't believe in anything.
You knew all of that and you got me hotel rooms there, but I lived in an old house as well. And I always felt on the third floor of the home um that there was a presence there. And I felt the same thing in another portion of the home that was built like in the late 1800s because I'm assuming at that time someone died in the house. Was it cold in that in those areas? Because usually they say if there's a presence it won't warm up. That's only Hollywood. I don't remember that. My girlfriend lives in the oldest house in our community and she grew up there, bought it from her parents and she was telling me that she always felt like one room on the third floor. She just really would not go in it. They used it for
storage. That's how I felt I didn't want. They did. They did a renovation, took out a wall and found a hidden room behind it. And I was like, shutter it. They literally just closed the wall and were like, nope, not go in there. I don't want to know. Oh, I feel like sometimes kids or dogs will react to things. And I do believe there's some energy or something there. That's and I think we get hardened and cynical and we stop looking and waiting and opening our minds and hearts to that. And I do believe it's there. Cha. My dog is just like me. She only reacts to food.
She's not humping her humpy horse. True to give her privacy damage. She just went to math. She does it in the hallway. Okay, we're going to be like ghosts right now. Disappear. We'll be right back. I love it. The weekend view is sponsored by Albert, your personal financial assistant. Okay, so earlier Sunonny put me in the hot seat. Now I'm going to put her in the hot seat. She was recently on Behind the Table podcast with Brian and they talked about the age-old question. Take a look. There's another story on the list today about a woman who said her best friend professed his love to her and she turned him down because she's in a happy relationship with someone else.
She said their friendship survived, but it's also awkward. Could you remain friends with someone who was in love with you? Oh, I'm sure you have. I have. I have, but that is that's tough. My one best male friend is Floyd. Everybody knows Floyd. I know. Went to law school with him and he never professed love. Um, nothing like that. We were just buddies. Mhm. And did it bother Manny that you were hanging out with Floyd?
No. Not even early on? No. Because we're just best friends. Manny's not easily intimidated. Um, but there have been guys that have said that and that's just the end. Yeah. Different energies. Yeah. No, for sure. I have uh I still have girlfriend. It's happened to me several times, come to think of it. Yeah. It happens to all pretty girls. That's what happens. You know, it's the reason the guys are friends with you in the first place. Let's not get Is it?
Yes. Of course it is. No. Yes. Go watch When Harry Met Savage. Men and women can't be friends. That's the whole thing. Can men and women be friends? And by the way, Sunny, they were all in love with you. You just didn't realize. I didn't realize that until Brian said that. I think you can have friends of the other sex. But I do think it changes when you get in a serious relationship or married. So my best guy once I got serious with Justin, they kind of became friendly and I became friendly with his
wife cuz it's like it makes it a less like a more natural dynamic when everyone knows each other. I know that. Well, let me ask you this. What if your husbands your significant others re just randomly came home and like I've got this new girlfriend at work? Nope. Exactly. Hard no. There's the answer everybody. I have a bunch of male friends. Really close uh male friends. Your best friend is a is male. Yeah, but he's gay, so that doesn't count. Yeah. I mean, that's the pro. He's not gonna fall in love with me. That's right. That's mean. Right. Yeah. Right. We might fall in love with the same man, but he's not gonna fall in love uh with me. But I have a lot of straight male
friends. Um Al doesn't love it, but I they're they're very important in my life. I don't want Al to have any female friends. I know, right? Right. I don't like it. Standard for us because I'm the same way. I'm like, "Sure, I can have as many guy friends as I want cuz I know my intentions." Exactly. But I don't know your intentions. You can't talk to him. Max once used to have this um this there was this three-way text and there were all people that worked at the firm he worked at and it was another guy and a
woman. And I remember over time I never was concerned with this woman. And then I noticed she was constantly turning to Max. And I said, "Max, you don't talk. Like what is she finding in you? Like what?" And so he would there was a day where he turned to me and then it made me sad that I my brain never went there. I think she was lonely and she really needed someone to listen to her and she was going through some things. So Max was like, "I don't talk. How do I respond to this?" And I was like, so I started to consult him. I was like, "You
need to comfort her right now. She is struggling with her." So it became this thing where I'm like dictating how to be you're going to need to talk more Max and this is what you're going to need to say. But I think most people are uncomfortable with that's why I don't even like that's my work wife. That's my work husband. Like that would never my husband would not form his mouth to say that to me. No, because there was a time where someone baked for your husband and you remember that craziness. We almost never saw the body.
Exactly. I was on this show. No, it was so insane. So my husband's a physician and so um he was um you know working overnights cuz he was on call and there was this nurse. Oh no. Kesha, stop right there. Kesha who went to the trouble of making a pineapple upside down that's what it was for him. Do you know how much work that is a lot of work it takes to make a pineapple upside down cake and this man had the nerve to come in and go look what nurse Kesha made for me and I took it garbage. Can you turn that upside down cake with all we talk about at this table was walking down a hallway with Sunny behind you going, "Do you know how long it takes to make that bread?
What are you doing? You bake for people. I'm a cook. I know how long it takes. And then I when I threw it in the garbage, he had my husband's clueless. He told her THAT I DID IT. AND THEN SHE sent the recipe home to me. Oh, she's shady. That's why it doesn't work. And on that note, I think it's time to wrap up. All right, you guys. Kesha's watching this, but she sent me an upside down pineapple cake, please. It did look good. It looked good. It was her specialty. You ready to do this?
Bye, Kesha. Bye. Behind the table streams wherever you guys get your podcast. Or you can watch us on Hulu, Disney Plus, or YouTube. All right, everybody. Have a great day, everyone, and take a little time to enjoy the We do you.
