Good morning. Hmm, I'm going to tell you about a long overdue camper repair because, you know, winter is here, so when we got back from the painters, it had no windows. And I'm going to show the color because it's not that gorgeous purple anymore. Hmm, yes, hmm, we'll tell you everything. Hmm, but let's start with this. What were we doing? Okay, we painted the original cabinets. We wanted to preserve them. Hmm, this Scott is trying to get back together, but he's a bit terrible, isn't he, honey? A little. Now I'm looking at how it all comes together and where the bad spots really are. There are a few bad spots in this part, but one of them gets the most use,
so there are some shabby spots, but I can make it look decent. I mean, it's like he's falling apart. Because it's obvious that it heats up, right, from below, because there was a grate there. Oh, sure, so it's a little deformed. But, um, we just.Where's the paint? Here she is. We got this paint from Annie Sloan. This is chalk paint in the color "Parisian gray." Um, we did a couple of layers. We're almost out of stock, so we'll have to try ordering another jar. Okay, first of all, these are kind of like kitchen cabinets, so they have this kind of plastic, vinyl, or plastic coating. In any case, they were all covered by this. So what you can do is paint it with, you don't even have to polish it. She
doesn't even recommend sanding things. You can just paint over it, but as you can see on this part, it looks like something is bubbling. And a lot of it was bubbling up all over these cupboards. So obviously if you paint this, you're going to have these kind of So, oh my God, that scared me. Cat. So I took a heat gun, heated it up, and removed it. This takes a lot longer than you think. Hmm, this is a real mission. Uh, I was here for a few days. Its Hello everyone. So, today, ladies and gentlemen, we're removing the plastic from these cabinets. So these are the cabinets that we removed that you saw in the previous video.
Scott already did it. Oh, great. Wait. So, you need to heat the glue that's underneath, that's the white stuff you can see. And, in fact, remove this plastic. And the point is not to heat it too much, otherwise it will melt and stink. So, if it starts bubbling like that, then you've gone too far. Well, you haven't gotten very far yet, but that's where you want it to go, really. In any case, there is still something that needs to be done. But once it was removed, we were able to Uh, we fixed a few details with, um, wood putty. And they painted them. I mean, they don't look great, but they're better than that. Yes. Therefore.
Perfectly. We are achieving our goal. So, obviously we are refurbishing a T25 and I bought it for a good price. And, as you'll see in a minute, I spent a lot of money repairing and painting the panels. This is one of the biggest expense items, and you know it will be a big expense. But I try to do everything else cheaply. So, obviously, painting the cabinets, even to the point of having the badges repainted by hand, which Ali did a great job of. Thank you all. Thank you very much. You know, you can buy them brand new online. They cost about 20-30 pounds each, but why not paint it black and, you know, pour silver, you know, doesn't that look. That's great. Yes, but, you know, you
can't even see it from afar. He's handsome. No one will come close to him, so. yeah, that saved us another 50 pounds. Yeah, so, little things like that, um, you know, you see a lot of people spending a lot of money on these vans, and you see other people on YouTube spending very little and doing it themselves, you know, building things out of pallets and stuff, which I think is the right way to go. You know, we're going to, you know, use this every day, so we're going to upgrade things as we go along. But I think the best thing to remember is: spend your big money on something that, you know, is really hard for you to do on your own. That's a really good idea. Um, your money, most of it went to removing
all the rust, treating it, smothering it, and then having it professionally painted. Um, how much did that cost? Two and a half thousand. Two and a half thousand. But we did the job right, no rust was left untouched, and we'll talk about, um, rust prevention when we get in the van. Do you want to get into the van Yes, you will see color. Okay, so I just want you to imagine her. This is what she looked like before.
It was such a beautiful purple color. We liked it, but it needed to be stripped down, rust treated, and we got a completely new color. Are you ready? Tada! Is n't she beautiful? We don't have door handles in the front yet. Oh, she still has a long way to go, girl. Okay, so first let me just say that we had to install the windows ourselves. Have a window in a car or van? Oho. This is a process. Oh, because we got it back from the painters, and look at that blue one. Look at her? She is wonderful. We got it back without windows, so we had to cover it up for the whole winter. They couldn't put them in, which means that nothing could be done inside at all. So, we took all the rubber bands.
I will add some video footage. This one has some kind of metal frame, because it's a little.oh my God. Someone has oiled her, and now she is full of regret. If you ever apply this air, don't do what I did and don't try to do it by hand. And, by the way, I had this tool. He had it the whole time. I had it the whole time, but I just walked around like this and tried to squeeze it in. Then, after the first window, I realized that it actually inserts there like this. And then when you push it in, pull it, it will push in by itself. So, yeah, just here, basically, doing a little bit, just treating certain parts from rust, just making them nice. I paint and protect. Uh, and then the next stage will be, you know, insulation, soundproofing, flooring,
carpeting, before we pull down the carpet. And I just do it little by little. I mean, we're not spending too much money on it right now, we're just using what we have. Because we have no money. I need to make a starter, that's one of my next projects. And you also tried to make a handbrake. Because she, um. It was fun. Yes. I completely regret doing this job. But yeah, not much has changed here since you saw the last video where we took it apart. We're just, um.Scott, doing rust prevention. So, I thought we'd just pop in and, um, tell you a little bit.
Finally, we will show you its color. Oh my God. I really like it. And the pop-up roof is now down. This is another thing we will have to fix. Honestly, I can't tell you when the next van upgrade video will be, simply because we're doing it bit by bit. Obviously, since we are both self-employed, our incomes have dropped to a terrible zero. Um, so we just try to do what we can. But if you want some kind of video about the specifics of what we do, then let me know and I can make those videos . It's not like I don't have time, right? Um, but yeah, a little update. She is progressing. She is fantastic from the bottom, outside, and top. She has great makeup. Still a long way to go, but yeah, just wanted to chime in and let you know how it's
going. Um, and yes, one day this will be our home on the road when we are allowed to leave again. So, you know, 2048, 49, maybe 50. Not quite sure yet. Wow, then I'll be old. Perfect time to be living in a van in my 60s. Anyway, yeah, so I'll love you and leave you. Thank you very much for joining me. There are cobwebs on this camera. If that's not a kick for me to pick up a camera more often, then I don't know what is. OK. I speak and hear them. Okay, I love it, I'm going, subscribe, call, all the interesting things, and see you next time. Good. See you later.
