A few weeks ago, my friends, we took a look at a very large double burner stove from a company known as Gas One. Most people have heard of Gas One before because this company's been around for a long time. They make a ton of products, and they have a really good reputation. This is a US-based company, and again, they offer a lot of products with a primary focus being stoves. After doing the video concerning the largest stove that Gas One makes, I heard from a viewer who suggested that I take a look at the smallest one. And folks, that is what this episode is all about. It is about the Gas One mini butane stove. I took a look at the stove, found it interesting, purchased it, and here we
are today. This is the Gas One mini stove. My name is Luke. This is the Outdoor Gear Review. Thank you so much for tuning in for this agenda-free review of this stove here. I've been testing this out for a couple of weeks, and I like it. There's many aspects concerning this stove that are very impressive. In fact, I really don't have any cons or any negatives concerning this. Well, maybe one small nitpick, but it's really quite minor. What you're looking at here is the storage case for the mini stove. Up here at the top, you have a handle. You also have a case lock. This is what the case looks like.
This is a very small, compact butane stove. Up here at the top, we have four pot supports. We have the burner head, an electronic igniter. We also have a windscreen. And over here, we have the butane port. We have the gas canister lock, the adjuster, which is also the on-off switch. Inserting the fuel canister is very simple. Just like that. And now, the stove is ready to be used. With the adjuster, you have to turn it all the way down, and then click for the igniter to work. You might not be able to see it, but this stove is running now. Very quickly, let's do a two-cup boil test. Let's see how fast this stove is.
There's a little bit of a breeze today, around 6 mph, so this boil test will take longer. That actually brings up a good point. You may be wondering why I don't do highly controlled boil tests. The reason for that is pretty simple. Those type of tests mean absolutely nothing because they do not represent the real world. That's why I do the testing that I do. You would much rather have a test like this that shows you the performance in real-world conditions than inside of a lab. Because when you're out on a trip, you will never get numbers like what they got in a laboratory. With the
testing that I do, it's going to match up with your own findings when you're out on a trip. For this boil test, 4 minutes and 8 seconds. That is not a bad number. If it was less breezy, the boil time would have been quite a bit faster than this. All in all, that is not a bad number. What I find impressive about this stove is the windscreen. No stove is going to be windproof, but this one here is highly wind resistant. It did a good job with the breeze that's coming through the forest. Let's go over some stats concerning this stove. So first off, this runs on butane and butane only. When it comes to the burner head, this is putting out 7,172 BTUs. This features a metal body with an enamelled dip steel pan. There's some
plastic, some bronze, and some aluminum, too. This measures only 3.9 inches tall. It is 9.6 inches long, and it's 8 inches wide. This stove weighs just a little bit over 2 lb, and you can find this in this one color. It's a chrome and white combo. And lastly, the price of this is $35. Now, everyone, let's go over my thoughts and impressions concerning this stove. In other words, the pros and the cons. And let's start with the pros, the positives. Concerning the construction of this, this is excellent. This is a very well-made stove system. High quality, good materials, no rough edges, nothing like that. For $35, this feels surprisingly premium. Is this compact? Absolutely. This is a very small stove system. It's not very tall,
not very wide, nothing like that. At the same time, it's very lightweight. The benefit to this is that you can have this in your overland kit, for an example, and it does not take up any space at all. But yet, you're getting the full performance of the butane fuel. The size of this might be small, but the output is typical of what you would find with a full-size butane stove. Most of these are right around 7,000 BTUs. And there's no surprises here. This is a good performer. It's not a rocket, but it will certainly get the job done. And it will get every job done. If you want to boil water, if you want to make coffee, you can do that. If you want to make soup, you can do that. If you want
to fry up a steak, you can do that, too. The pot supports, they are excellent. You have a little bit of jumping. They're very large. They're also close together while being very long. Meaning, your pot, your pan, your cup, your kettle, whatever you put on this is going to be very, very stable. At the same time, this does not move. It is, again, very stable. The igniter here is fantastic. It works every single time. Just like now. A huge positive aspect for the system here is the fact that it runs on butane. Butane fuel, at least in the United States, is very inexpensive. At the time of filming, 12 cans is only 20 bucks. As I mentioned before, the windscreen does
a really good job. Now, of course, this windscreen makes this stove wind resistant. It is not windproof. So in a breeze, it's fine. If it's really windy, you'll need something more than this. This stove here is very easy to use, and at the same time, it's very easy to put up. The next thing that I like about this stove is the fact that it looks good. In my opinion, it has a cool appearance. I like the white. I like the chrome. It's a good combo. With most butane stoves, they have a very industrial sort of look to them. This one, you have a little bit of color. It has a little bit of character, and it's different. And because of that, I like
it. Without a doubt, this features a very good value. 35 bucks for a butane stove, that's pretty dang good. You can very easily spend $100 and basically get the exact same performance as this here. And the odds are, the stove itself will be substantially larger than this. The compact size really is what makes this unique and special. As far as butane stoves go, this is very, very small. Lastly, when it comes to the storage case, it is excellent. This offers a lot of security, a lot of protection for the stove. Now, moving over to the cons, the only con that I have with this system here deals [snorts] with the front of the storage case. This is a minor complaint, but at the same
time, it's funny that the company overlooked this. So you have this handle here. It is great for carrying this, but there's no lip on this handle. So when you go to open this up, you can't use the handle. It's really strange, actually. When you go to open up this case, there's nothing to grab a hold of. So you have to take your fingers and basically spread apart the plastic and open it. There's no grab tabs or anything like that to separate anything. Even doing this and try to pull the material apart is difficult. This is a very minor complaint, but this could definitely be improved. In the end, folks, I really like this stove. This offers a very compact size with good
performance, good materials, at a very good price. This is such a good stove that, in truth, I have no real complaints about it. The storage case, while excellent, could be a little bit better when it comes to opening and closing it, but all of that is really minor. In the end, this is an excellent stove, and I can easily recommend it. As far as my review goes for this stove system, I am done. Make sure to sound off in the comment section down below. First, what do you all think about the company Gas One? Are you familiar with their products? Second, what do you all think about the mini stove? I love the fact that it's so compact, and it doesn't take up much space inside of
your vehicle or elsewhere. You can use this for so many different purposes. You can take this car camping, fishing, emergency use, and so on. Thank you all so much for tuning in. I do appreciate it. If you have a product that you think I should check out, send me an email and let me know. Until next time, take care. Be well. Strength and honor. Bye for now.
