- What is the most venomous scorpion on the planet? One that could kill with a single sting. In this video, we're going to hunt this deadly creature, but to do so, we first have to travel to the other side of the planet. We received an exclusive invitation to explore one of the middle East's most remote stretches of desert in search of the rare giant Arabian death stalker. This desert outside of Dubai is rarely explored, and information on this species is almost non-existent. So first we have to find other animals in this massive desert to help narrow our search.
I see something up ahead, lizard. You guys ready? Cool. I had him got him. Ho, ho, ho. There it is. We caught a sand fish. That is so awesome. Yes, and it has super smooth scales here. Andrew, reach your hand out and just pet the back. Wow.
Yeah. Smooth it is. And look at how it's adapted. Very narrow and shovel like snout. It uses that snout to dive itself into the sand. The sand is so fine and powdery that this lizard's able to just swim through it like a fish. Hence the name Sand fish. Beautiful coloring the back has a speckling so it blends in perfectly with the environment. Look how amazing it's camouflages. Perfectly adapted for this sandy terrain. So beautiful. Hello. Hi. So we're gonna let this little sand fish go.
Let's just see one more time how it got its name ready. One, three. 1, 2, 3. Lizards like this sand fish are potentially food for the death stalker. So now we know where to start our search after the sun goes down. Like other scorpions. We do know the death stalker only comes out at night. So after settling at camp and enjoying some famed Dubai hospitality, oh yeah, smells good. Have some burgers. We set off into the night in search of this scorpion who sting is rumored to be fatal. And if we find one, I'll attempt to get it closer to the camera than this species has ever been before.
Knight is upon us, and it is time to officially start our hunt for the most dangerous scorpions on the planet. Black light on. Here we go. This black light is so powerful. We see any scorpions anywhere where this light can touch. It's gonna light up like a Christmas tree because nearly all scorpions fluoresce under UV light. You're about to see it. Got one. Got a scorpion. First scorpion of the night with a scorpion fired up. Look at, look at it. Striking.
Wouldn't think twice to wallop you with that stinger. Got it. Feisty scorpion. I've got it by the Tesson. This looks like just a normal variety of sand scorpion out here. First one we found tonight, you can see it's quite small, nothing too impressive, but a good sign that we are on the right track. Let it go. Where you find one scorpion, you'll find more scorpions. So let's keep searching very early in the night. It's only been dark for about 20 minutes, but we're already seeing some of the smaller species
of scorpion come out to look for prey for the night. And that's what these scorpions are doing. They're hunting and it seems like we're in prime hunting grounds now. Got one right here. This is another species guys. Look at that. This is the thick pincher scorpion. Not a lot is known about the species, but not really capable of actually pinching my skin, believe it or not, not very strong, which leads me to believe that the venom in that stinger is extremely potent. We know that generally with scorpions, the smaller the pinchers, the more potent the venom.
Ah, they have to rely on that super toxic venom to take down their prey rather than just brute strength with their claws. So I would say that this scorpion would pack quite the punch, but this is not the scorpion we're after tonight. We're gonna keep looking for the death stalker. Let's let this scorpion go and keep searching into the night. It's late now. The big ones should be coming out this time of year. I'm all about staying on track with my health goals by cooking more at home, but I don't exactly have hours to spend planning meals when I'm not out exploring the wild.

Okay. This one definitely looks meaner than the rest. Let's go in for the catch. Very. Oh geez. Oh man. Gosh, it's so mean. Wow. Got it. Look at it. Just trying to annihilate the forceps. There we go. Okay. Pictures are trying to get me but not very strong, which is a good indication that this species is highly venomous and pretty much, I gotta be honest guys, all the species here in this desert are highly venomous.
These are called old world scorpions and are some of the most toxic on the planet. Get some really close shots of this scorpion because I know a lot of you are already searching. What does the death stalker look like? And most of the images that come up are going to look just like this scorpion. However, there is one difference. If you look at the tip of the tail, the tellson, the bulb that contains the stinger, you'll notice it is completely black. So that tells me that this scorpion is none other than the black sting scorpion. This scorpion will sting you in an instant. And I gotta say, of all the scorpion species I have ever
encountered thus far, this is by far the feistiest and most aggressive, but it is not the debt stalker. In fact, the debt stalker that you might find on a Google search is also not the debt stalker that we are out here trying to find tonight. We are one of the first film crews to ever survey this area, and because of that, we are trying to find something even rarer than the common Death stalker Scorpion. We are after the giant Arabian death stalker, which is super mysterious and also very, very dangerous. But this is not the scorpion. So we're gonna put it down and keep searching for that giant.
Alright guys, here we go. Ready? On three, one take three. There we go. Bye buddy. The bigger meaner scorpions are out. Now I have a feeling we're closing in on our target guys. Big scorpion got a death stalker, guys, we got one. This is it. It's hunkered down. That's how you know it's something's venomous. Guys, you can come right up to it and it doesn't budge. Huge red flag that what you're looking at has a secret weapon, and this scorpion certainly does. And I want you to see beyond just that fact how I know what we have found right here is the giant
Arabian that stalker. You see that bulbus piece of the tail right there? See how it looks like a shield? This scorpion is also called the shield tail scorpion. Oh boy. Okay. I'm gonna try to pick it up real quick. Look at that. Oh. Oh, okay. It's on the move. It's on the, all right, got it. Okay. Oh man. Look how big that is. We are in the presence of a truly species guys. And look at those huge pinchers.
Look at how long and slender they are. Let's see how hard it can pinch. It won't even pinch me. Very delicate and almost powerless pinchers, which means, as we know with scorpions, all the power is right there at the tip of that stinger where the venom is held. I'm gonna get a better grip so I can tail it. I'm gonna attempt to tail the scorpion and not wanna get stung. The tellen. Okay. Oh, but I'm still nervous. Oh my gosh. I've got the tellson, but I wanna try to get the scorpion down so I can show it to you guys.
Oh wow. Okay. There we go. Get the scorpion calm. That stinger is so huge. It curves back so far. It really makes me nervous, guys. It's taken everything I can right now to hold my composure. The consequences of a sting guys through the roof, potentially fatal when I'm holding my hand very well, could be the most dangerous scorpion on the planet. And for a super toxic scorpion, this is huge compared to like say, the Arizona bark scorpion, which is my worst sting of all time.
This is at least triple the size and look at the size of those elongated pendulum. I cannot get over it. And that tail, it definitely looks like a shield. That is so bizarre. And the locals here call this the debt stalker because so little is known except for the fact that if you do take a sting, you'll require immediate medical attention. Now, I've done my homework guys. We did research on this species before coming out here because I was wondering if maybe I'd be willing to take a sting test.
It's not gonna happen today, guys. There is little to no information about the venom of this scorpion. And after all, we are guests here in this country. So the last thing we want to do is use up medical resources for the sake of a sting test. Locals say you would never wanna mess with the giant Arabian debt stalker. Now, this scorpion was discovered in the 1930s, and right now, because this region is starting to be explored, scientists believe that the venom from the scorpion could be medically significant. Now speaking about the study of venom, did you guys know that scorpion venom is the most expensive liquid on the planet? That's right. One gallon of scorpion venom can fetch up to $40 million.
That would take a lot of scorpions to equal a gown of venom. This one right here probably is measured in microliters, but that is just to show you how interesting the property of venoms really are. They're unlocking keys to medicine and future treatments for all kinds of diseases. So research into creepy crawly creatures like this could very well benefit humanity in ways that we couldn't even imagine. How about that? The giant Arabian debt stocker, I'm Mark VINs. Be brave. Stay wild. We'll see you on the next adventure.
Alright, let's put the scorpion down. Head back to camp.
