What is happening, y'all? Cowboy here, and today we are taking a look at Lunarium. Now, this is a indie action RPG, top-down, just dropped. Uh the PR sheet for this says it does clock in under 10 hours, but the game is also priced in at like $17. So, just a pretty cheap indie adventure, and uh you know, got a couple days before I can show y'all Beast, so figured why not? Let's do an episode of this, cuz I got nothing else that I'm uploading. Uh now, real fast, anyone that is interested in this, I will say when I booted it, it did not default into English. So, if that happens to you, go to settings, go all the way over to display, and the third option down is going to be English. And then from
there, everything has been working just fine, but yeah, let's jump in. Already kind of booted it up to get a feel for the controls. Seems like it could be a fun little play-through, so give y'all an idea of what they cooked up here. Do you think the leather strap does it use the boobies leverage to keep the armor on, or is it more is it just like an aesthetic booby strap? I feel like it's mostly I think it's it's mostly there to prop the titties up. That's my guess. Uh I'll I'll say the default walk speed is also pretty cheeks.
Um but you can hold the dodge button down briefly, which is A, and then you just have a like a proper uh running run around stuff. I was like booted it up, got up to the first boss, which was up ahead, and then I was like, "All right, and we can do this for an episode." Which typically I would do something like this, I would just do an indie showcase. Uh, but there's so much on deck already for streams and upcoming let's plays, I'm like, "You know what? I can do a one-off pretty easily, but I don't even have believe the time for an indie showcase.
Just it's it's honestly insane how busy the next couple months are going to be. I got Beast on deck from The Immortal Shell. They just announced the [__] uh Nioh DLC is going to drop in August, which that's going to be streams, by the way. There's just no real way to There's no way to fit a let's play and a walk through of that on top of everything else, so I'll just I'll fully stream it, slap in the same playlist as for like whether or not I'm going to do a walk through for Mortal Shell. I've already had folks asking. Honestly, don't I don't know. Probably not. I'd like to. We'll see. I mean, I'm going to be doing a super comprehensive let's play. Maybe I take
notes during the let's play. I don't know. I got to just I got to figure out what I'm doing. I've never had like this many games staring me down at the same time. At least Lords of the Fallen decided to delay until 2027. I'm like, "Oh, the thing, I got one break. One bit of a break here." But that was also going to go for the September window. I mean the game on default mode, you can choose easy. I think that's the story mode that they have labeled. The health bar is a little weird. There's like multiple health bars here.
I think one of them is like a stagger bar though. There's a cool tip about that. I'm guessing the tan bar is probably stagger while the red's just health. Loading. She's got to be like uh Europe. Shrine. Shrines are always found before boss encounters. Approaches trying to heal our wounds, restore prayer uses. Okay, so we got a little souls light going on. We got uh you know, heals that are kind of like Estus and uh little rest spots.
Yeah, I got to pull him out. Come on, over this way, ugly. Let's go. Okay, so I had like two of those. Right now I have none. Okay. We have that. Charge forward and launch a forward thrust. Deals heavy damage, interrupts actions, and generates stuff. 800. Um Well, actually, the only thing I can really afford is that, but that's good. I'll take uh Do I have that already? No, yeah, mind.
I do. I have that. Okay. Um I could do that. After loom fires an arrow, press X to infuse her with luminous center lunging can knock down and increases enemy stagger. Uh you perfect parry to flex projectiles. Get that. Um 800 500. We got 320 so picking up the parry kind of Yeah, it's probably worth it. Find sanctuaries to rest where the silver spindle blossoms. Resting on a bench inside a sanctuary will fully restore but most enemies will respond. Yeah, okay. Standard Souls 101. Okay, so there's no quick. It's either a charged heavy or bust.
I really feel like the default like the this should just be the default movement speed. Cuz like this, there's no time I would ever want to just move at this super slow pace. And I'm not sure why it exists. Which I mean, you can, you know, as long as I just keep every time I want to run somewhere, I hold A for a second and then it resolves, but still, it's kind of annoying, you know. It's very uh very unnecessary. So, I mean, there was something else like that I played recently where I was giving feedback and I was like, this needs to be your default. There's no reason to make the player go through extraneous actions.
Things that we're doing just for the sake of making them do [__] Player experience, every time. I might need to use my bow a little more. Just sleeping on it at the moment. Wild berries. Kinds of goodies. Um Oh, there is a map. Okay, cool, cool, cool. All right. Let's go. Let's take that path and drop down right where we're at. I like that though, a little it's like a hand-drawn map that we're uncovering as we go. It's cool.
Yeah. I'll circle around. So I guess this side Oh, hang on. This side, can I go over there? No. Unless this is really just here to tease me and be like there's stuff that way. You can't get to it, but there's stuff if you go around. Oh, yeah. It wants me to go up and all the way around. That would presume. That will take me up and connect me through. All right, here we go. That looks interesting. You have eaten a shard. Three more to increase max vitality. Okay. Health stacking.
I think we'll we'll push on until we get to like um another boss, I think. That'd be good, you know. All right. I don't think I was holding it long enough. Here we go. I got to disconnect this also here. Yeah. Hm. Let me circle me around. Like you could have come out like two three ads ago, bro. Pop them off. There it is. Not particularly hard. What do I get for taking you down? Fungal mortar. I should have just picked up something besides the parry.
Let's see. Make our way down to the village. I think we're getting close. Oh, no. Was that the Oh, that's a bench down there. That's the basis. Okay. Uh Oh, yeah. We got the main boss. No, hang on. Give me Isn't this dude I just killed? The vine fungi, yeah. Um This way? That way? Looks like there's a small thingy there. I've already killed the clowns. Get out of my way. Take the long way around. What's the long way? Going back up there. I don't remember how to No, wait. How would I do this?
Cuz I came from up there. I jumped down. Hang on a second. I would need to go this way. And then push. Beyond. Hm. Hm? When the cross ship gleams flashes on the enemy, they are preparing to launch a multi-hit combo range attack. Observe their patterns carefully and perform parries in rapid succession to inflict Oh, boy. What the [__] dude? How would I even stop that? Oh, what timing. Come on. Oh, it's almost there, dude. Oh. Dude, the clutch. Oh, man. You got to love those moments. No healing left.
No health. Literally, my health was what? Zero practically. I feel like the village is probably already cooked. Is there a bench? Cuz like, I'm I'm I'm going to die. They have a fear I am barely confident we're going to get there and the village is going to already be destroyed. All right. Well, this seems like a good spot to wrap things up for a preview video. But overall first of this are pretty positive. I think the combat starting off pretty simple, but even at the end there we killed that thing and then we got a charge shot.
We saw a couple of the things in the skill tree. So I'm sure there's going to be some more stuff that would make the combat expand. Biggest thing honestly for this is the price. Like I said, they told me up front they're like this is like a 10-hour adventure. But this being priced in at $17.99 and $16.19 on sale right now. That's That's a good price. Especially I think this falls really well into that like very ideal Steam Deck kind of indie niche. Um so, either way, fun one to take a look at. I'm not sure if I'm going to have any other one-offs like this if something else comes into the inbox between now and Beast, I'll probably fire up another video. Otherwise, y'all can expect Beast
to start up in a few days.
