Cardi B on the Moment She Knew Her Marriage Was Over. | Transcript:

You know, this program is about getting to know the person behind the music, behind the stardom, behind the fame, getting to know the human being behind all of that. Yes. And I feel that your path, although you've already spoken about it, I'd love to delve deeper into parts that I find fascinating. Yes. And I wanted to ask you, what is a childhood memory that you think defines who you are today? Oh. There are.there are many. Well, it's not really a childhood memory, but my sister and I went to the same school, you know? Although she is three

years younger than me. And she always told me this, you know? She always told me this. She used to always tell me, "Oh, I used to see you in the cafeteria in the morning, all alone with your head down. And I felt so bad for you." And I would say to him, " Why?" And she said, "I don't know, because you looked very lonely." And I used to tell him, "I wasn't alone. I just always need time to think and be with myself." Mhm. I am a person who has friends, but sometimes I don't really like being surrounded by people. I'm always just lost in my thoughts. It's like there are a hundred people, and I feel like it's been like this since I was 5 years old,

talking in my head and planning things, planning my future, my life. It's like I 'm playing dollhouse in my mind. You know how it is when you play with your dolls? Yes, I understand. And you create a scenario. Not a stage, but you build your home, this and that. Yes, like a small universe, that 's fine. A small universe. I'm always planning a universe in my head, and sometimes people say I have an interesting look, like I'm distracted. I'm not distracted. I'm fully immersed in my own world, planning 5 years ahead.

Wow. So you dream, you plan, you visualize. Do you create different workers, different versions of yourself in your head, with different names or personalities, or not? No, not really, nothing about different personalities. It's simply planning for tomorrow, planning for the next 5 years, imagining what I want. Wow. And it's crazy, because everything I planned and dreamed about since I was five years old, I've actually achieved. Wow.

Ever since I was younger, you know, ever since I was younger, I used to look at my mom and say, "I want to be as cute and beautiful as her." And I grew up to be the lovely, beautiful woman she is, but I also wanted to be very successful. Very, I won't say rich, but very successful. I really hated being poor. Mhm. children and raise them in the neighborhood. I had to find a way to never do that, but I always wanted children and I worked it out. And not only did I solve it, it's like I always have plans B, C, and D. But I didn't have to settle for plan B, C, or D. I settled for my dream. Because this is my dream job and I have it. It's a little harder than what I saw in my dreams. But I'm living it. It's what I always wanted.

Yes, that's incredible. What about that little girl who was sitting alone, whom her sister says she saw and felt sorry for, but who in her head was dreaming? Mhm. Did he dream of music? Did he dream of leaving the neighborhood? What were those dreams? What did they look like to that little girl back then? I always felt I was going to be a superstar. And it's so strange because my grandmother has many grandchildren, but she always told me that. And it's like, "Why did you always say that to me.? I mean, I don't understand why you were saying that to me all the time." I used to be like a little black sheep. I used to complain

a lot. I have cousins who are very pretty. They have beautiful, beautiful eyes. They simply stand out a lot. And it's not that I don't stand out. It's just that, out of everyone, my grandmother used to tell me: "You're going to be a superstar." " You need to practice how to sing because you're going to be a superstar." And I just knew I was destined to be something. For some reason, my sister and I have very strong personalities. And I feel that the things they said to me, they also said to her. Like all my teachers, all my friends, they told me: "You're going to be someone." You're going to be somebody someday. But I always wondered, like, " What is my calling?" Because I liked acting in school, but I 'm not a good actress. I liked to sing,

but I'm not a good one.I'm not the best singer. I mean, in the group, at school, I'm not the best singer. If I auditioned for a play, they would choose someone else because they sang better than me. Or they chose someone else because they performed better than me. Then they would say, "Oh, you're so funny." But I'm not a comedian. You want to do a stand-up show. I mean, I'm naturally funny, but I ca n't see it as my job. It's just.it's just the way I talk. It's just the way I am . Then I asked myself, " What is my calling?" And I always ask myself, "What is my calling?" Everyone says that thing about: "I'm going to be somebody". But what am I going to be? Don't know. And God gave it to me. God showed it to me. And

God really did give it to me. And here I am. And I can't believe that millions of people know me. You said a moment ago that you didn't want to raise your children in the neighborhood. Mhm. Tell me about what we don't know about it. How difficult was it? What was so wrong that you said you would never raise your children where you grew up? It's just.there are a lot of things. Sometimes, when children misbehave or get into trouble, people automatically blame the parents. And you can have the best parents. Like my parents, they are not criminals. They've never even committed a crime.

My grandmother often told my mother, " You are beautiful for no reason." And I feel like they were saying that to her because she's very pretty. You know, people in the Caribbean, when you're pretty and all that, they always expect you to be with a man who has a lot of money. And my mom was never that kind of person. She was a very modest, honest, and hardworking woman. So, my dad is a good man. He's a party animal, but he's a good man. He's a good person. He is a good father. However, you will end up going down the wrong path or in the wrong direction because of the influences around you. Because of peer pressure or because you have almost no other option, especially if you're a boy. You never know if you're going to have a boy or a girl,

especially if it's a boy. And when you're a girl, it's a little difficult. It's a little harder. I feel like people grow up a little faster in the neighborhood Like when I was 11 years old, there were girls in my sixth grade class, all 11 years old. I have nieces who are 11 years old. All they want to do these days is play Roblox. But when I was 11, yes, there were girls who were already in sixth grade at 11. So it's like you follow certain paths in your environment. Like the boys in the neighborhood, they are also a little more precocious. So, you know, you're walking down the street and the typical bad boy slaps your butt out of nowhere. He slaps your butt out of nowhere. If you start arguing with him, he'll

slap you in the face. That's how many of the kids in the Bronx are. They are very aggressive. They are aggressive towards girls. They are aggressive. They're going too far. They grope you. You never know. As one of the reasons why I'm so quick-witted. People say, " Why are you so witty? Why are you so thin?" Like when I went to school, it's like I think that's why I'm always so tough. As boys or girls, especially boys, they used to make fun of certain things. But not just from me, from everyone. They make fun of you for looking at your shoes. Look at your hair. Your hair is never styled. So I used to get home, go to the mirror, and practice my jokes. And the next day I thought, "Great, I can't

wait for him to criticize me. I have a joke or two for him." That's why I'm so witty. So it's like I do n't want to raise my children in that kind of environment. I don't want to. And besides that, it's kind of fun. I had a lot of fun in the neighborhood. But it's like it's not fun for me anymore, you know? Living in an apartment isn't fun, is it? And contrary to what I say, I don't cook, I don't clean. I grew up with a mom who made me brush the corners of the apartment. How to brush it by hand. This is how clean my home had to be. My house had to be there. She washed the dishes every day. She mopped the floors every day. Every day I made sure to go out to the parking lot to take out the trash. And even though it doesn't matter

how clean your apartment is, there will still be cockroaches, there will still be mice because your neighbor is probably a hoarder, the person downstairs is dirty. They all live in the same building. You can't avoid certain rodents and things like that. And it's like I don't want my children to go through that. And it's like I have to find another way. And then another thing that always goes around in my head is that time my mom worked really hard, but we still needed help. So she went to social services to get benefits, like a benefits card and things like that. And my mom is one of those people, if you're rude to her, she'll say, "Oh, I don't have to put up with this," and she'll just

fire you. I don't have to put up with anyone talking to me like that. She has a very strong character. And this lady spoke so rudely and badly to my mom, and she put up with it because we needed the help. I don't want anyone to feel like they have to talk to me in a certain way because I need help. And it's like this could never, ever be me. I would never want to be in a situation where I have to go and ask for assistance and the social worker talks to me like I'm a dog. Like I need you. And I felt so bad for my mom because she felt so. I could tell from her face that she was just looking for the papers she needed, that vision is always in my head and it makes me angry. I hope that lady. I want to punch her in the face to this day

. And I don't want that. I didn't want that. Yes. And as a woman, even if you're with a man with money, you should have your own, because one thing you learn from a young age, one thing I learned from having aunts, is that you can have a man with money, you can have a child with money. If you stop doing what that man asks you to do, or if that man decides to leave, or if you get involved with someone off the street and end up in jail, that child is yours. It's you. It's your responsibility. It's your fight. You have to make an effort for that child. It's always assumed there are two parents, but sometimes that's not the case, and that can be a lie from the start. That's why you always have to have your own. It's not about

saying "I don't need a man, I don't need a father," but sometimes you reach a point where they make you feel that way. That's why you need it. I had cousins and aunts who were with men who had some money, some land, some of this or that. And when those men are done with you and turn their backs on you, it's like: "Yeah, I'm not taking care of that kid anymore" or "Here's your $200 every three or four months, whenever I want it." I'm not going to take care of that child. Mhm. That's why I thought: I always wanted to have children, so I have to have my own things. Hey, friend. Before I became a mom. And that's exactly what happened. And I don't just have one child, I have three, and it's not exactly the number I wanted,

but I always wanted a big family. I just love family. I love family. And there's a better chance I wo n't end up in a nursing home with all my children. How many children do you want? I want like six. Okay, so three more. Mhm. I want about three more children. Three more children, I love that for you. I mean, when I heard you say that, while I was listening to you, I could almost visualize what that life was like. Yes. And there's a part of you that's so happy to be out, but at the same time there's a part inside you that you've been fighting against, that you've been running away from, right? As has been the case all these years. When was the moment you

felt, "ah, I'm out now"? I felt like I was free. When was that moment when you truly felt you had achieved it? I'm out now. I did it, you know? I am safe now. It's crazy because every time I felt like I was safe, I really was n't. Oh, interesting. Yes. When I appeared on television, the first time I appeared on television, I thought: Did I make it? I didn't feel like I had made it because I used to see girls go on reality TV shows and then end up back at the strip club where I was. So I never felt like, oh, I'm on TV, I made it. It was like, I 'm almost there, but I haven't made it. Then, when I signed with a record label, it's like I was

almost there because I signed, but I'm not where I want to be. Where I really feel I made it was when Bodak Yellow came out. The million I earned, the first real million I earned, I didn't have to share with anyone. I had to share with the managers because they made me sign something. It's mine. But I never felt comfortable. Even today I don't feel comfortable. Especially because of how everyone is trying to take it away from you all the time. It's like, it's like I struggle every day to maintain this level of success because people really want to take it away from you and people feel like they can tell you when you deserve to have this success because it just seems so easy, but it's not. It really isn't. It is, it is, it's

a challenge to stay here. Staying relevant is a challenge. It's a challenge to maintain good mental health. It's a challenge to get up. Is? Every day, every single day is a challenge. It is, it is, it is, it is a, it is a job. Everyone has a job. You can't complain about getting up and doing a job. The only thing I could complain about is having millions of people who love you and then millions of people getting into your head and telling you that you don't deserve the job you worked so hard for. That's what it is. We all have jobs. That's what being someone is all about, though. Oh no, don't

complain to them. Everyone wants to complain that I work too hard. I work very hard. You have to work hard to pay your bills. But when you work hard and people tell you that you don't deserve the success you have and that you don't deserve to do what you do after having put in so much effort, that's what really gets to you What makes you feel this way every day? What are the things that make you feel like people are constantly attacking you? How does that look in your life? I'll tell you something that's been going on for quite some time, you know? Because a lot of people think that I'm not releasing music, that I haven't released an album, that I'm not releasing this or that because, I don't know, they

always say it's because I'm always getting pregnant all the time. But I don't think people follow timelines. When it comes to having children, I already have a lot of experience. I have a lot of experience right now. When I first had my daughter, I cancelled a tour with Bruno Mars because it was the first time I had a baby. I didn't know anything. I didn't have a nanny, or a night nurse. I was discovering everything on my own. I was dealing with postpartum issues. I was deciphering everything, you know? But even when I had a daughter, that didn't stop me. Three months after giving birth, she was doing four or five concerts a week, until COVID. Then COVID happened. And I released this huge hit, WAP, and I launched Up.

Mhm. Then, I got pregnant. And people thought I didn't release an album because I got pregnant. But the reason I did n't release an album is because I didn't have a collection of works. Mhm. I simply didn't have enough material, so I couldn't release music because I didn't have a collection of works. Then, last year, I was planning to have an album. I But I couldn't concentrate. I fell into the deepest depression I had ever experienced. And with that depression, I couldn't function. It couldn't work at all. And when I talk about functioning, it's not even like, oh, just working. I could n't eat, I couldn't sleep, I couldn't do anything. So, that

just stopped everything I had going. So, it's not really about having a baby. Sometimes, too, I don't want to release music because I love being in the studio, and I love creating music, and I love perfecting my craft. And that's like baking a cake. You bake a cake, you practice baking the cake, you practice baking a cake. And then, when you release the songs, sometimes they're good and sometimes, for example, people say, "We hate it, she shouldn't be doing this." And it's like you're baking a cake. You bake a cake, you bake a cake, people eat the cake and then they say, "This is the worst cake ever." And they crush him. Have you ever seen The Simpsons?

Yes, yes, yes. The movie where they smash everything when they smash the cake? That's how I feel, and it's like, that's the worst feeling in the world. Mhm. It's like if a guy sleeps with you, you think you're having the best sex in the world, and then he tells you your sex is garbage. You shouldn't sleep with anyone ever again. That's exactly how I feel. You work, work, work, you try to do your best, to perfect your craft, and someone just tells you: "You shouldn't be doing this." "You should never do this again in your life." It depresses you a lot and changes your mindset so much that it's like, that's why I try to avoid it, just for my peace of mind.

Mhm. Just for my peace of mind. I've been doing well for almost a year. After giving birth to my daughter, I was a little happy. I was leaving. I started dating someone. I started to feel really good. Sometimes I have bad days. Sometimes I have good days because I feel like I'm restarting in life. Last week when I released a song, and it's not really the criticism of the song, but the way people tore me apart, ripped me to shreds, chewed me up, just for a song, I feel like I did n't deserve it. Especially for a song that I put so much work into. I just thought, this is why I do n't really release music like this, because I remember how this felt.

This is a very terrible feeling. And you tell yourself that, well, many of these people who tell you these kinds of things don't have jobs, don't have degrees, don't have anything at all. But when it's millions and hundreds of thousands of people, they're not just criticizing the song, they're criticizing you as a person. It's like, this is why I don't really post much. Because it's like mental health, peace of mind, it's so much, sometimes you have to ask yourself, is it even worth it? Mhm. It's worth it? Because I hadn't felt as depressed as I did last week in a long time. Like almost, almost a year.

Tell me about that depression. For you, being as confident and bold as you are, to be so vulnerable, and I'm so sorry you had to go through that. But to be so honest and open about the fact that a year ago you were in this dark depression, and it seems like it was the worst thing you've ever experienced. Yes. What led you there? Why did you feel so bad? It was simply a lot of pressure because of my career. And I also felt that my marriage, I felt that the love was dying. From me, from me, from him. I felt very lonely because I chose to be alone. She told me, "You know what? I can't go through this anymore. I have to put a stop to it." But when I said I would put a stop to it, because you can say you're going to

put a stop to it, and you can go a month without being near someone. It's not when you say it, it's when your heart says it. Mhm. I kept telling myself, "I won't contact this person for a month. I'm not going to give in. I won't forgive so easily. I'm not going back. I'm not going to fall into the pattern. I'm not going to go through that." But she cried every day. She was hurt every day. I was here in Los Angeles imagining things by myself. I thought about it every day. And when your heart is n't finished, it isn't finished. Then I said to myself: I'm pregnant. I'm going to accept.I'm going to

accept my flaws, the flaws I bring to this marriage. I'm going to apologize for them and I'm going to work on them. And when I take responsibility and you take advantage of me taking responsibility, and you take it as a "see, I knew I'd come back" instead of me taking responsibility and you taking advantage of that, it really just killed everything. And as I was dying, I had a human being growing inside me and I just, just kept thinking, "What will life be like without this person?" What will life be like raising my youngest child without this person? What will life be like without that person being my friend, without anything? When you have those kinds of thoughts, it makes you sad, it depresses you. It makes you feel lost.

, 24 years old. That's when I felt strongest and lived in my power, and that's how I feel right now. I feel like I live in my own power and it took months for my heart to say "it's over", instead of my mouth and my brain. My heart had to say "it's over". Because you can say it and you can take action, but even if you take action, if you haven't finished, you haven't finished. He kept asking, at that time he was working with Shakira and he would say to her: " How the hell did you get over this?" How did you get over this? And it's like it's going to happen, and it seems like it will never happen, and then it did. It brought some tears, it brought some thoughts,

terrifying thoughts. It took me a while. But here I am, darling. Yes. Here I am, and I'm the strongest I've ever been, and I just It shows. I can, I can tell. I can see it. As I speak to you, it's not easy, and I believe those moments in all of our lives are the most difficult. What did you do for your mental health at that time? What did you do? What actions did you take? What did you have to do to stay whole and come back stronger than you are now? I think there are many people listening who have probably been through similar things, who feel broken, hurt, lost, and confused. What worked for you to help you come back stronger than you've ever been? I do n't know if it was just the weather, because

I did a bit of everything. So, yes, I did go to therapy. Yes, I saw a therapist. It's very good, by the way. It was like on Zoom, and I was saying to myself: I ca n't believe I'm telling a complete stranger my feelings, my thoughts, and my personal affairs for 3 damn hours straight. I was just thinking: what the hell am I doing? It feels very strange. Yes. I was there. I went to therapy, I had a couple of sessions. They were of no use to me. I spent all spring and all summer recording. It simply wasn't enough. I felt I had to let their own. Let things die on their own. And the bad thing is that I wasn't just dealing with that, I mean, my personal life. He was also dealing with pressure from fans

because they want, you know, they want an album. They want my products. There were people who didn't like me and spoke badly of me. And then I had colleagues trying to get me into trouble. And all of this while I was having a damn mental breakdown at home. So it was too much. It was like: I'm trying to get over it by working. I'm trying to get over it by sleeping. After I gave birth to my daughter, my little one, I simply said: [__] it. I took a break from work and went out every weekend with my friends. It was terrifying to talk to someone else and give them a little piece of myself. Not just from my heart, just a little piece of me. But I got over it. And that's why I feel like I've improved a little, simply by resetting myself.

Yes, it's a good reminder that time is the ultimate reset. Mhm. And time has a healing power, you know, that cliché that time heals all wounds. But it's the truth. But it's true. Yes, it's a cliché because there's truth in it. There is some truth to the idea that time, distance, and being patient enough help. So it's a great reminder that time is the ultimate reset and that time does heal. And although time heals, in the meantime don't think you shouldn't seek help, because therapy didn't help me much, to say the least. It worked for you. Not so much. Well, maybe because I did n't get to the part where you receive help.

Mhm. So, yes, I did about six sessions. I don't know how long. Um, sometimes when I give advice to girls, I tell them, "Hey, get your act together. Get your act together, go to work, get yourself together." But even when I did, I felt a kind of pain in my heart. And sometimes when I went out with my friends and had fun, it was always around 4:30 a.m. m. When it was time to go home, I was drunk and thinking to myself, "I'm alone. I have no one to talk to." And it feels very strange and very lonely, especially when you're used to it. However, no, don't avoid that. No, don't try to avoid it; time will heal it. It will happen in time.

Time simply heals everything. When you said again last week, you said that when you released new music, it was the time you felt most depressed in another year. Mhm. What is the most difficult thing for you when accepting that criticism? Because, as you said, you're quick with that. You have answers. You've lived in a place where you had people attacking you. Why is it so hard to release something you love? It seems like you really put your heart into your work. Yes. And then, when you release that, is that why the criticism hurts more? Because you put so much heart and soul into your work?

Yes, because I put in at most. I never like it, I'm not a lazy person. Mhm. And I understand my flaws. Well, they 're not really my flaws because a lot of people say something about my accent, right? But it's funny because my accent might be my flaw to some people, but it's also my superpower and what makes me unique. Some people will say that I have an accent, a Spanish accent, but I do n't really have a Spanish accent. I have a very unique accent. I speak in a very unique way. When you try your best to perfect your accent, perfect your rhythms, perfect everything. I always try to perfect everything I'm doing at that moment. I always try to perfect it. Even when I was a

dancer, I thought, "Okay, I'm a dancer, but I'm going to be the best pole dancer here." And I'm going to work my butt off, hurt my knees, and practice every day to be the best at it. It's the same with music. I'm going to perfect it. It's the same with my marketing. I'm going to perfect it. That's the same with my businesses. I'm going to perfect it. I like to perfect things. And if they're not the best, if I'm not the best at it, I can say that I tried and poured my heart and soul into it and didn't make it easy for myself. So when people just throw it in your face and then create other narratives with it, it's so cruel, and besides, they're different versions of you. It's like, wow, you don't even know me. You don't even know me and

you're making up all these stories, scenarios, all this for a single song. For example, when I made this song and people didn't like it, a lot of people said that Cardi never deserved to be a rapper. They made it very easy for him. And it's funny because I did n't get this [__] for free. I poured my heart and soul into it and planned it. As you can see, even as a child, I used to plan everything. I planned every step. And it could even be an inspiration for other up-and-coming artists, because for a long time, since I have such a strong personality, people just thought, "she's funny, she's funny." So it was very difficult for

record labels to take me seriously. And some record labels tried to give me crumbs to sign a slave-like record contract. And even when I was on television and I thought it would be my big chance to be recognized as an artist, it wasn't . I was getting good numbers with my mixtape. It wasn't enough. So I took the money I earned from parties and performances. I did my own concerts and the best part is that it 's all documented. I did my own concerts for 400 or 500 people in New York. 800 people came. Singing my songs. And I went to the record label. And I told them, "This is why you have to hire me." It's not just this damn social network. It's real life. And the $15,000 I used to earn hosting parties, I used to rent cars, buses and venues

to perform my songs and show these record labels that I'm the one. This [__] is not fake. This [__] isn't a personality issue. This is not a Love&Hip Hop thing. This is what my music is achieving. This is the people singing it. Do all that. And now, having come so far after planning everything, and then having people tell you that you don't deserve it and that you got it because of this, that, and the other thing. That makes me really angry. Yes. Because everything, everything I did is documented. I didn't get this [__] for free. I didn't spread my legs to get it either. So that's the

kind of [__] that makes me furious. I mean, it's like, don't tell me I didn't work my fingers to the bone when I did. There are days when I get lost, I miss birthdays. I get lost, I get lost birthdays. I miss family events. This [__] has gotten in the way of my personal relationships, my marriage, and everything. Just so someone can tell me, someone who's never done a [__] thing in their [__] life, that I don't deserve it? [__] off. When you reflect on it, and after thinking about it for a week, do you think, "I want to prove them wrong?" Or do you think, " Really, who cares about them?

" Where do you arrive after a week of reflecting on it? Just like last week, right? I was crying. And I kept saying to myself, I kept saying to myself, it's like. Not just to myself, I actually told my friend. I told my friend. I told him, "Sometimes people say don't let the devil win." Mhm. But what happens if you let the devil win? Mhm. Maybe I need to let the devil win so I can have peace of mind. And then I'm left thinking, "Why the hell would I say to let the devil win?" Imagine praying to God on your knees every night, asking: "God, please bless me with this. God, please give me that. God, please give me this. Give me, please give me that. Please bless me with this. Please bless me with that." Just so that you can

tell the devil, "Here, you can have it," everything God gave you? Mhm. Because he is sending. Sometimes the devil sends evil in human forms, in human mouths, and on human tongues, just so you can tell the devil to keep it? I mean, imagine how God feels. Imagine God saying, "Okay, honey. Okay, girl. Here, here, here's this. You wanted this. Here, here's what you deserve." And then, I mean, it's like, it's like if He gave you something and then you go to school and they tell you it's ugly, and that's something you've asked for a long time and now you don't like it anymore because someone told you it's ugly.

Yes, very well said. And how come I almost let the devil win? Mhm. And I was telling myself that, I was saying it and, like I said, I was saying it, but sometimes you have to believe it in your heart, because your mind can tell you that, your mouth can say it, but you have to believe it in your heart. This week, however, I feel much better and much more confident, and I said: I'm not going to let the devil win. I'm not going to be like: you know what? I was telling my team: You know what? I just need a few days off. And how are you going to take a few days off when your team has been planning all these things you have to do for your album release because of these people?

Mhm. that is saying things that the devil wants you to think about yourself. I almost let this son of a [__] win. Don't let the devil win. Because how do you think God feels? ? He gave you everything you've been asking for forever just so you could say that. Mhm. That really made me angry with myself because I can't believe I said that. How do you see love now? How do you define love? Effort. Mhm. It's not always going to be perfect. Effort means a lot to me. It means a lot to me, like him calling me, studying me, and my personality too. I love jokes. I love laughter. Do you know what I

mean? Like, if I'm with you and I'm crying, when was last week? I saw, I saw my boyfriend. I saw my boyfriend and he was crying. I told him: there's so much pressure on me, there's so much pressure on me, and with just one little joke he makes it all. I'm I kind of forgot the joke, but it was really funny. That's good then. And like with snot coming out of my nose, it kind of made me laugh. It just made me feel good, and it's like, you know what? Things are going to be alright. Yes. Someone you can just be with. Someone who can make you laugh, cry, and someone who can be there for you when you're crying your eyes out.

Yes. I like that, and I like the effort. I like what you said, studying you. Yes. That was really interesting. I'd never heard that before, but I like it. The idea that if someone loves you, they study you. Mjm. What does that mean to you? Tell me about that. I like that one a lot you know what I mean? I mean, some things are like, are you really studying me or is it just stating the obvious? For example, if you give me a handbag, if you give me a Birkin or a Kelly, right? It makes me happy, of course. I mean, who wouldn't? What woman wouldn't be happy with a handbag? But you know that's what I like. So it's not like you're studying it. It's like you're seeing it on my page. But, when

you do things you don't normally do, but you do them because you heard me talk about this. Like when you rent a castle. And I know you don't want to be in this ancient castle where you literally have to go up and down stairs just to go to the bathroom, and it's hot, and there's no air conditioning. When you rent a castle just because you keep saying, "Oh, I ca n't wait. I can't wait to have a day off in Paris to go to Versailles. I'm obsessed with castles. I'm obsessed with kings. I'm obsessed with queens." And it's like you hear that, and you do everything you can to make it happen. It's like little things like that.

Yes. So, you're always leaving clues. It's not even like leaving clues. It's just me talking about you. That's me talking. It's like, "It means things to me," and stuff like that. When you get to know my personality too, and you get to study me, it's like, okay. Because I am, I think I am a difficult person to decipher. Some people just see me and think certain things until you really manage to decipher and understand me. Because I could give you what I want to give you. You still haven't figured me out. Will anyone ever be able to decipher you? Is it even possible? Yes. Little by little I'm opening up. And I show more of myself. My true self When you're young, you dream and want

all these things, nobody tells you the cost involved. Yes. And how much they test you and bring all kinds of challenges into your life. Yes, you've talked about how money doesn't fix everything and success doesn't solve everything. And it almost seems that when you don't have those things, you think they will. Yes. And then, when you achieve them, you realize that we still have many other things to resolve. What is something you are still trying to figure out, learn, or solve in your own life? What part of your life do you like to

work on, dream about, envision, and imagine to make it better and different? In other words, life in general. All? Everything, to be honest. Life just doesn't. I wonder when life will start to get easier. Because life is simply difficult. Whether you have money or not. You have problems when you're poor, you have problems when you're rich. You're always trying to figure it out. I feel that every day, people are just trying to figure it out, to understand themselves, to understand life. And that will never stop. I think it will never stop. When will it stop? When you're 60? But even at 60, you'll start to have other problems.

Such as back problems. It's like something else, another problem you have to solve. Do you know what I mean? It's like it will never stop. Yes. The older you get, the more people you lose. The more children you have, the more things you worry about. The more money you have, the more you need to learn how to manage it. Whether you have a partner or not, you have to figure out how you want to deal with being alone. When you have a partner, you have to figure out how to be their peace in everything. And I really do n't want people to think that because you have money, you lead an easy life. Everyone who has money,

who is successful and good at what they do, if you notice a pattern, they work their fingers to the bone. Do you think Beyoncé got her damn yacht, her mansion, and all that just for being Beyoncé? No, she works like crazy. He is one of the hardest-working people there is. Why don't people reach their level? Why don't people do this or that? Because she simply has an incredible work ethic. An amazing time. My partner gets up every day at 5:30 or 6:00 a.m. He leaves work at 7:00 p.m., and then there are people who criticize him and ask, " Why is he so good?" Because he works hard. Mhm. Why am I still here after 7 years? Because I'm working every day, every single day. What do we do now? Hello, what is

everyone doing? Wake up. I have something planned. I just.I just thought of something. I just had a dream about something. We have to make it happen. And work hard, you can say work hard and it sounds like work hard, but it's hours and hours. It's time. It is the body. It's the brain. Mhm. I'm exhausted. I'm really exhausted right now. My back hurts, everything hurts. I'm so sleepy. I have a pain on the right side of my head. Mhm. But I'm still working. Yes. After this, yes. I have a promotional photoshoot and then I'll go to the studio. And tomorrow I have to do something else. Daily.

Daily. If you want it, you have to do it. No complaints. No whining. In this conversation you have talked about Jesus. You've spoken of the devil. Do you talk to God a lot? Do you pray? Every day. Every day? Mhm. I feel that I have a very deep spiritual connection with God. And it's not even a matter of praying. It's like talking. Even when I talk to God, I talk to Him the same way I talk to you. I swear That. Cry. Because people say, "Oh, swearing is bad." But God, God knows who, God knows who I am. God knows who I am, God knows what I'm like.

It's like, it's almost like I'm talking to a friend. And I truly believe in my strange mind, in my strange universe that I have created, that I have.I have angels. I truly believe that God gave me angels. And I believe in them. I feel that God is here, and I feel that you have your angels here, and then you have other religions over there. I believe in God so much. It's not even a joke. And you know, some people may not believe in God, but I don't try, I mean, I'm not going to convince anyone to believe what I believe. But how can you expect me not to believe in the person I've prayed to my whole life, the one who gave me what I wanted? So, was that girl talking to God in that dream?

Always. All the time. It's like an imaginary friend, that voice in your head that you think is your friend, that you think is your own voice. That, that was just, that was just you talking to God all the time. I love him. I believe in him. I always say this to someone. It's like the most, the most, the most I can give you, the most powerful thing I can give you is to pray for you. If I pray for you, it's because I love you. It is the most powerful thing. And I truly feel that when you pray with someone, miracles happen. I love him. I love you so much. Why do you love me so much? Say it, say it, say it, say it, say it now.

I'm like one of your favorite daughters. Tell them. Lord Jesus, tell these people that I am one of your favorites. Don't lie to them. That's beautiful. Cardi, you have been so generous with your time, your energy, and your heart. I truly felt that this exceeded all my expectations of meeting you and being able to interview you. I love your energy, I love your spirit. I am very grateful to have spent this time together. Thank you. And all the best for you. God bless you. And I hope you continue to be successful, triumphing in life and being the energy and strength that you are. So, thank you very much.
