Testing Waterproof Socks and Heavy-Duty Tape to See If Wild Product Claims Hold Up

The video tests products with wild claims, starting with waterproof socks that are supposed to keep feet dry in water and tape that can hold up to 270 pounds. The host tries them out to see if they live up to the hype.

I Tested Products With Wild Claims. | Transcript:

Today, we're going to be testing products with wild claims. And what I mean by that is, for example, we have some waterproof socks. I think that's pretty self-explanatory. When you put these things on and you step in water, you shouldn't get wet. So, we're going to be testing that. We've also got some other things like tape that can supposedly hold up to 270 lb. Guys, that's heavy. So, let's get right into it. We're in my shower now and this is where we're going to be testing out the socks. Now, first of all, they come in pretty weird packaging. And do you see this, guys? They look massive. Like, have you ever seen socks in a plastic bag like this? Okay.

Man, these feel super weird. I don't even know what size I got, but these are massive. These Yeah. They look fake. Like, obviously they're real, they're in my face, but they look fake. Like, do you see the pattern? I don't know what it is about these things, but they I think it's cuz they're so flat. Have you ever What is this thing? All right, let's put them on. Ooh. Actually, ooh, these feel weird. Ooh, that feels super weird. Ew, I do not like that. It's like very stiff, but I guess it's waterproof, it has to be different somehow. Okay, yeah, my feet feel super restrictive. Like, I'm pretty sure you guys could tell just from the video, they just look stiff.

Like, it honestly looks like it fits, but it just feels and looks weird. But hey, if they do the job, I'm not complaining. So, now what I could imagine people get these for is hiking. That's literally the only thing. Like, if you're hiking and it's raining, or maybe if you're golfing and it's raining, I don't know. Either if it's raining or you're just doing something wet. So, what the first thing I think of is hiking. So, you'd have some hiking shoes on, obviously, and then really it's just you brushing up against like grass and maybe stepping in a puddle with splashes. So, okay, we're going to put this on and we're going to just simulate some splashes, okay? So, like Okay, that might have been a bit more than a splash.

Let's do the other one. You ready? Hopefully you guys can see this. That was a good splash. Okay, you're running. Splash, okay? I mean also, our shoes aren't waterproof, so some water comes in the bottom. I think that was a pretty solid test. Now let's see if my feet got wet. And yes, you guys are about to see my feet, okay? Oh! Guys! Look at my beautiful toes. Do you see these hairs? Not a speck of water. So guys, I'm going to give that a pass, but let's take it to the extreme just like we're going to do with the other products. Let's turn on the bathtub. And we're literally

Look at it. It's fully submerged. Do a little on top like that. Let's rip this thing off. Okay. Holy crap, guys. Holy crap. You see you can still see the dirt, so obviously my foot is dry. What the heck? I did not think that was going to pass. Next up, we're going to keep the waterproof theme going with a waterproof lighter. Honestly guys, this thing looks fire. I love how like I don't know. It doesn't even look like a lighter. Now how the heck do you Oh, it says push. Push Oh. Put what Okay, so this tab comes off. Oh, okay. What Why do we Why do you need a charger? Wait, what kind of lighter is this? Guys, as you can tell, I'm not a lighter expert. Um Oh! What the What?

Okay guys, I am charging my lighter. Never thought I would ever say that in my life. We also have just a regular lighter. This thing was literally $1 from Home Depot. And this thing, I think was like 20 bucks. So, let's just dunk this thing in water and see if it still works. We're going to get the top. This is simulating rain, okay, guys? And I'll be honest with you guys cuz this is like for the barbecue. I think this is actually stayed outside during a rainstorm and it still works. But as you can see, we are dunking this thing. Like this thing is getting a full-on bath. Now, up this end, let's see.

Hopefully it doesn't like blow up in my face now. Oh, guys. Guys, it might have it might be out of commission now. While we wait for the other one to charge, we're going to let this air dry and see if we can light a candle with both. Okay, guys, this honestly been drying for a few days now, but let's test it. Oh, wait. Guys, you saw me dunking this thing, right? I gave it a full-on bath. This one's all charged up and ready to go now. They just based off of the looks of this thing, it looks like it's not going to get wet. Like obviously the outside, but not the inside. So, don't need to test it too much. I trust it. Boom. Oh, opens up like that.

Guys, this thing is sick. But technically, this thing also works. But guys, here's where this thing is actually worth it. Let's say you're you're river rafting, okay? You're in a boat. Or like you're you're in the wild. It starts to pour rain, okay? Or you fall off the boat into the water. This thing, you won't be able to use for a couple days. But this thing, you can dunk it, open it, and it's still good to go. I'm actually very curious though. I want to test how this thing actually works. I've never seen a lighter like this.

Oh. And there we go. Now, I've got a bunch of t-shirts. I've got a carry-on. And the next product. This one in particular claims save 80% on clothes storage space with a vacuum seal compartment. So, what we're going to do is we're going to pack the suitcase up. Actually, I was about to take this out, but let's just leave this stuff in. Got a nice heavy-duty jacket. Honestly, this side is pretty full. Yes, you could fit more stuff in, but we're just going to pack this side up now. So, what we're going to do, we're going to pack it up, see how much I could fit in, and then see if this thing can really save 80%. All right.

Let me know if you guys like these types of videos. Not necessarily laundry videos, but these like IRL videos where I'm like out and about instead of just at my desk. Okay, guys, we're honestly getting pretty full. Like, maybe I could squeeze in a few more shirts, and if I packed a little better, but I guess throw in some undies right here, some socks, and boom. Cuz you need to be able to close this, too, right, guys? Now, we're going to put the exact same things we just put in into here. Okay, let's see what this comes with. These are a little big for this suitcase, but you could order smaller ones. I'm kind of confused. Like, do I just throw

my stuff in? Like, I don't want to ruin I don't really want it to like suck down and ruin my clothes, but it's just air. How is air going to damage my clothes? Come on, look. Don't be silly now. This is a good quality expensive shirt. I don't want it to ruin it. But, for the video, guys, like, look how much room that thing takes up. So, actually, let's just chuck these ones in. Let's just chuck these in and not even care cuz it should just do its job and squish it down, right? Now, where's our little vacuum device? Is this it? Oh, great, another charger.

Let's just hope and pray that this thing has some juice. Oh, I also just noticed there's a stop line, and we're we're at the stop line. Okay, now, normally, guys, this is kind of funny. Normally, I would hate this because there's so much air. I would open it, air it out, and then put it back in. But, guys, we do not need to do that. We do not need to worry about that because we have this little thing. Hopefully, you guys can see on the second camera. Close and open. Oh, it's a cap. We're going to stick this thing in.

Guys. Wait, this is actually sick. Actually, I guess when all the air is sucked out it would automatically stop. Looks to me like it's not really moving. Okay, we're going to be quick. We're going to be quick and we're going to close it. Okay. Okay, this is kind of sick. Oh, that's how they do it when your wood packages come like that. Let's toss her in. Let's toss Again, I got the wrong size, but we can still squeeze it in. This is a carry-on bag. And guys, remember it was like it was piled up.

Oh, and look at how easy that is. Okay, guys. Okay, technically it's a pass, but it says 80% more space. Do we think that freed up 80%? But also, another way I look at this, guys, is if I obviously put my clothes in the actual device better, it would have been even more compact. But also, if I would have folded the clothes better, I don't know, it's hard to say. Cuz this, you could just chuck them in and not care and it's still better than when I chucked it in and didn't care. So, I might actually use this. To test if this tape can really hold 270 lb, we are in my home gym. Where as you can see, we got a lot of weight. As you can see, guys, it is developed with enhanced nanotechnology.

Whatever the heck that means. But here's the catch, guys. So, it says 270 lb, right? But then below it, 10 cm for every 9 lb or 4.1 kg. As you can see on the bottom here, guys, this is 9 cm. So, we're going to use this surface right here, okay? 9 cm. Guess I need some scissors. Snip. 9 cm. We're going to hold it for like 30 seconds and make sure it's on real good. You know, you guys can come a little closer. Okay, it's on there pretty good. So, remember, shoot, it says 10 cm. Whatever. 9, 10, same thing. 10 cm, 9 lb.

Take off. This side is only 2 and 1/2 lb. This can hold 9. So, let's see. You know, when I first picked up this weight, I was like, there's no way. But, actually, after sticking it on here, I think there might actually be a way. I'm going to hold it for a while. Got to give it a chance to adhere. And I think guys! Holy crap! Okay, but that's only 2 and 1/2 lb. Oh, wait. It's actually on there pretty good. We're going to jump straight into the good stuff. Okay, we're going to add another nine, actually, cuz this is only nine and it tells us to use 10. We're going to go 9 + 11 = 20. So, we're going

to add 11. Okay, boom. You see where that big 10 is? That's 11. Then, we got 20. But, that's not all. We're going to add another 20 right beside it. So, now we're at 40. Good math, Luke. Right here, guys, we have 25 lb. This is 40 cm. So, 40 cm, if we do the math, should be able to hold 36 lb, which is 11 more pounds than this. So, we're going to use literally the whole thing, which is what it says. It says 10 cm can do 9 lb. So, you'd think if all of this is touching the weight that it should be able to hold this thing up, right? I highly doubt it.

We're going to just smack it on. Or should we smack it on sideways? Feel like sideways there's no chance. Feel like either way there's no chance, but here goes nothing. [clears throat] We're going to hold it for 30 seconds. I'm going to press hard. [clears throat] Okay, this has to be like 30 seconds. Yeah, there's no chance. Not even close. I'm such an idiot. I didn't even peel it off. I didn't even peel the other ones off.

Let's try that again this time more central. The whole thing is making contact other than this middle part. But, technically this section of tape should be able to hold 11 more pounds. So, this should all work out if it actually can do what it says it can do. Okay guys, the moment of truth. I actually think this might work. I'm actually going to let go. GUYS. OH! UM ALMOST. Next is the Turbine Wash. So, this thing is a portable washing machine. So, imagine this. You got your white thing here. Oh, no! I got Sriracha! Oh, shoot! I got Sriracha on my nice shirt, but I'm in college and I don't have a washing machine or I'm on a family vacation. Actually, no.

Family vacation, they should Actually, no. I never said what kind of family vacation. So, we're on a family vacation and we're in the wild. We got nothing to get this out. Oh my gosh, guys. Gosh. Oh my gosh, look at that. So, what do we do? We find some soap. We're going to use laundry detergent, but find some soap, guys, okay? First of all, it says do not do jeans, jackets, and other heavy clothing. Doesn't say anything about soap, but we're going to use soap just for fun. And it also has this little suction thingy that we're supposed to suction to the bottom, I guess. Now, I already put water in here, but I think you're supposed to suction it to the bottom.

Okay. Let me just plug this thing in. Oh crap, it's going. OH! WOAH! I THINK I HAVE TOO MUCH WATER. OKAY, I'm taking it out. I'm I'm unplugging. Oh my gosh. I was not expecting all that. Holy crap. Guys, I just realized this thing is not going to go in there. So, in order to wash something big, guys, you need a big bowl. Don't know if you're going to have a big bowl when you're on the go. All right, I dumped some water out. It's still splashing everywhere. What the heck? And here's the microfiber cloth. I don't know how much smaller you could get from this. Okay, this thing's really making a mess. What do you do? Just put it in?

Okay, guys, the verdict is that it works. So, it does 30 seconds one way, 30 seconds the other, and for 30 minutes. So, I guess if you put some soap in, I guess it washes, but you need a massive bucket. I don't know, guys. I mean, yes, it works. Kind of. Last thing for today, guys, is this magnetic window cleaner. It claims you can wash both sides of glass at the same time. As you can see, this windshield is very dirty. Now, it says to put water and detergent on these little pads. So, what I did is I put water and some dish soap. Now, I kind of need two hands for this, so I don't know how much you guys will be able to see.

Oh! Holy crap, that sprayed water everywhere. That's a strong magnet. Guys, I'm really struggling. I got not enough hands for this. Now, because these magnets are so strong, it literally comes with a tool to pry it open. Oh my goodness, this thing is super strong. Holy crap. I already know this thing's going to work based off of how strong the Guys, I'm not even exaggerating. Holy crap. You put the one with the string on the outside, this on the inside. Oh my goodness. And then, you wipe. Oh my gosh. What Oh! No. Luke. Oh, I'm such an idiot. Not only does this thing have a slight amount of tint on the inside, it also has a protective thing on the outside to protect it from

rock chips. So, it's obviously not going to glide. Oh, you're such an idiot, Luke. Oh, please tell me okay, good. Ho! It comes off. Kind of. Okay, I'm going to scrub and hope that comes off. It's a week later now guys. I've gave my car a wash and as you can see it is still there and this is permanent. Holy crap, this thing is dusty. I swear I washed it guys. Oh my goodness. But yeah, it's it's not coming off. But that's my bad. I should have been smarter and realized I have a rock protection thing on my windshield.

Okay, we're back in the bathroom. Hopefully it's a little easier. Oh, way easier. Oh, way better. It's a little stiff. I will say that. But what I will tell you is there's like a zero not zero, can't say zero, but almost a zero percent chance that thing comes off. The magnet is so strong. Now guys, the only thing I could think that this would be handy for cuz I feel like it's easier to just scrub one side quickly scrub the other is, which is also the reason why they have this, so you wrap this around your wrist or something. So just in case it falls off on the outside, it doesn't fall, depending where you live, and smack someone in the face. For example, me, this window is way up in the air. The only other way to get it

is a ladder or I can open her up. But then I could stick it on the outside and scrub. Or I could just get a company to do it. But this is way cheaper than a company, I'll tell you that. So, I'd say that thing's a pass. Now guys, with lots of these items, I'm not saying I did the test exactly how like they would do the test. For example, the tape. Not sure how they did their test. That was some pretty strong tape and I'm definitely going to use that tape cuz it's the strongest tape I've ever had. But from the test that I did, it can hold the 25 lbs. But I probably did the test wrong. But hopefully this video was entertaining for you guys. If you guys like these types of videos and want me
