And while I know most of you already have an account on Coinbase, today's lesson is about Coinbase Advanced. This is a much better option for trading and investing. Not only is it more transparent, you also get significantly lower fees and spreads than newbies on regular Coinbase. So, you are overpaying. For example, we are professional traders, and you save money by buying, selling, and trading through Coinbase Advanced, and you also get better features. So, first of all, as you know, Coinbase is fully compliant with the law. They are publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange and
regulated. Therefore, you will have to go through KYC. This means "know your customer." This is a verification process. Everyone will have to do this. It took a little time for me. It was fast, safe, and required by law. And don't worry, your data is protected by what I like to say is Coinbase's industry-leading security infrastructure. So, to trade Bitcoin, Ethereum, Zcash, or whatever, the first thing you need to do is make a deposit. You can deposit funds directly from your bank account or deposit cryptocurrency, whether it's stablecoins or Bitcoin, altcoins offered on Coinbase, directly from a single wallet into your account. While I'm here, another thing I like to know is commissions. What I appreciate about Coinbase is that they make everything very
transparent. So, I'm in the portfolio section. Moving on to the commissions. Obviously, the more you trade, the better commissions you get. This is a multi-level system, and it is clear that you will receive better commissions as a maker than as a taker. So I'm going to show you how to get the best commissions when you can, as a maker. So, we're back to the markets. It is worth noting that we can trade spot, futures, perpetual contracts, stocks, indices, commodities, and currencies. Add a watchlist to keep your favorite coins or stocks, or whatever else, in one place. This is a professional approach. Today I want to draw your attention to two main stablecoins that you can trade if you are into crypto trading-they are USDC and USDT. This is a
trading pair. I like to trade USDC on Coinbase because they are big supporters of this stablecoin, and of course you can also trade-I don't see it here, but you can trade like this. One pair, one coin against another. For example, BTC directly to ETH. You don't need to use an intermediary stablecoin. BTC directly to DOGE. Again, while we're at it, stay tuned and receive your USDC rewards up to $275. So let's understand what a market order is and what a limit order is, look at other options, and how to set a stop loss and take profit. This is what market order essentially means that you buy the cryptocurrency now at the price it is trading at that moment. You see the order book right here: all the potential sellers with a desired price and buyers with a
desired price, and the place where they meet is the price at which Bitcoin is trading right now. If I want to buy $5 worth of Bitcoin with my USDC, just enter a five right here. I can also change the settings and buy the same amount of Bitcoin, but specify an amount in Bitcoin that would be equivalent to about $5 in USDC. To be clear: a market order is buying a coin at the current price, while a limit order is setting your own buy price and waiting for the price to reach your level. Since we are focused on market orders, it is important to understand that the commission will be slightly higher because you are taking liquidity from the order book. A market order involves a taker's fee because you are taking liquidity from the
order book by buying at the current price. If we go to a limit order, then there are maker fees because if we don't buy immediately, it adds liquidity to the order book, and for that you get lower maker fees. And that's roughly how it works on all major exchanges. But what is a limit order and how do I use it effectively as an experienced trader? A limit order allows the price to come to you. So, although the price at the time of writing is about 83,900 for one bitcoin, let's say, and by the way, you can buy or sell any of that. I'm interested in buying and holding long term. Let's just say, however, I think we're still adjusting. I don't want to buy 84, let's say. I want to buy if we can get back to 81. We hit support right here. 81
will rise a little. I want to buy for $81 88. This is the price I'm willing to buy at. The amount of money, let it be 7 dollars. That's how sure I am. So, again, if that happens, I'll get a better entry because I'm using a limit order. You'll notice these two checkboxes at the bottom, " post only". What does this mean? Well, as it says, let me read it for you. If checked, your order can only be executed as a maker order. Your order will be canceled if it takes away liquidity. So basically, this is most relevant if you want to set a limit order, but it's so close to the actual price, the actual market price, it might be so close that it will immediately take away liquidity even though you set a limit.
This essentially ensures that you are only creating a market, adding liquidity. So " placement only" is a very good fit for the best commissions. When I'm ready to buy or sell, when it happens, it will appear right here. At any time you can cancel the order, change the order, very flexible, and you see my buy order, my limit order is set right here if the price reaches it. Although we can change this in real time. Maybe I changed my mind, I want to set a buy if the price drops a little, everything is updated, which I really like. Now let's close this. A few other things to look out for that experienced traders know about, so you should know. Coinbase gives you
access to all the best indicators. Some common ones that we use all the time on this channel are moving averages, right? Then you can configure it. In fact, we will use two moving averages. We like to use. Let's edit this. Input data: 50- day and 50-week lines, although we are on a daily chart, and 200- day. And, of course, we will format them differently to see the difference. This allows us to trade like professionals. To follow me, use the indicators I use and much more. The link is below. Highly recommend. There is also a stop limit function, a TWAP function, and it is worth understanding what a stop limit order is. A stop-limit order automatically places a limit order to buy or sell when the price of
an asset reaches a specified value, known as the stop price. This type of order can help manage risk by protecting profits, limiting losses, or opening new positions. To place a stop limit order, simply click here. And of course, understanding TWAP or time-weighted average price orders: a TWAP order minimizes the impact of large orders on the market and ensures smooth execution when the order size exceeds the available liquidity in the order book. So, you will use this if you are a trader with large capital. By breaking large orders into smaller parts and executing them at scheduled intervals over a set time, TWAP orders help achieve an average execution price that closely matches the average market price over a specified period. There's
always something to talk about, although we won't cover everything in today's video. Setting take profit and stop loss is very important to understand and use. This could save you. And actually, to demonstrate or just talk about this more, let's move on to perpetual futures (perp). Trading perps allows you to bet on the direction of an asset's movement without worrying about timing. So, let 's say I'm I think it will go to $10, although there will be fluctuations along the way. And again, guys, this is all just.I don't know what the price of XRP is going to do. Of course, this is all hypothetical, but let 's say I'm optimistic. We'll move on to this trading pair, this perp. We can set either a market or limit order.
Let's say I.if XRP could drop a little more, that would give me a better entry point. We'll bet here, $ 25, a little more. Dollar 25 and 09 cents. And, let's say I want. What can I get? I'll take one contract. That's how optimistic I am. Before opening a trade, I click on the take profit or stop loss I want to set. And essentially, this means that if the order is triggered and I can enter at the limit price I want, the take profit will support me on the rise, and the stop loss will protect and support me on the fall. So maybe I'll lock in some profit if we hit historic highs again, well, local highs at $1.70. So, my take profit will be at 1.7. That's 36%, and that's not bad. You can see that the profits will far outweigh the losses. But
let's say if the price activates and even drops a little, there's not much support here, I think the next one will be at $1.16. I want to withdraw from this agreement immediately. So, again, setting a stop loss helps me get protection in case the price drops. It is also worth noting that here you can see the level of leverage you are using. Again, practice proper risk management, but when you trade derivatives and perpetual contracts, there are many different coins with leverage capabilities. If you are doing it safely, always follow risk management rules. Then we click " buy now". We set up a trade, and what I want to show you is: first, it hasn't worked yet because I set a limit order, so I'm waiting for the price to reach me because I want to
open a long position. I can also open a short position if I decide to sell, but I choose to go long. If the price reaches me, I can adjust my take profits or stop losses in real time as I receive new information or change my confidence in the trade. Very flexible settings. Again, perpetual contracts are becoming increasingly popular because you can trade on the direction of the asset's price without necessarily guessing the exact timing, as long as you are willing to finance the deal. We can also look at stocks. Here you can trade stocks on Coinbase. Traditional finance and cryptofinance are converging. Here is MSTR, Michael Saylor's MicroStrategy Strategy Stocks. Of course, there's Nvidia. We can also look at commodities, you have access to
oil, copper, gold, silver. You can trade commodities based on price direction, invest, or trade tickers. As announced, Coinbase has acquired Deribit. So you have the opportunity to trade options. If anyone is interested in pre-IPO stocks, if you want to get early access to trading OpenAI or Anthropic stocks, Coinbase offers that too. And while we could discuss a lot more, I believe Coinbase is the first exchange I signed up with about 9 years ago when I started my journey in crypto. I still use it. This is because they are the most regulated. They are trusted by millions of people around the world, which is why they are where I buy, sell, and trade cryptocurrency. If you don't have a Coinbase account, I highly recommend opening one.
