Bitwise CIO Matt Hogan Raises Long-Term Bitcoin Forecast to $1.6 Million

Bitwise chief investment officer Matt Hogan has raised the firm's 10-year Bitcoin forecast from $1.3 million to $1.6 million using an updated model. With $15 billion in assets under management, Hogan argues that long-term crypto investors only need to consider two variables: the size of the market Bitcoin could capture and the share it can secure. He suggests smart money is positioning itself during the current downturn.

$15 Billion TITAN Issues DIRE WARNING for Anyone Holding Bitcoin & Crypto. | Transcript:

Using the same model as last year, with updated data, we are raising our 10-year forecast from $1.3 million to $1.6 million. Attention, cryptocurrency owners, it's time to act. Who is with me? Let's talk about why the " smart money" is making its move during this downturn. Matt Hogan, the chief investment officer of Bitwise, which manages $15 billion in assets, revealed a compelling reason for raising their 10-year forecast for Bitcoin. When you make a long-term forecast, there are only two variables that

matter. How big a market do you cover and what share of it do you think you can capture? When we looked at the data, both variables appeared to be extremely strong. So, he's going to tell us about the data and why institutional investors are getting into crypto now more than ever. In addition, I want to talk about five altcoins that, in my opinion, will lead the crypto market into a new era. The future of finance is coming right now. Hey, I know most people just watch our content but don't interact with it, please, this time let's see what happens if you hit the "like" button.

It's a small thing for you, but it helps a lot for content creators like me. Okay, enough begging. Let's start with this. Bitwise Chief Investment Officer Matt Hogan stated: "We are raising our 10-year forecast for Bitcoin to $1,600,000. This is more than the previous 1.3 million." And what I like about the beginning of this clip is that he says that he was worried for the past year that they would have to lower their forecast. And they would do it if the data indicated it. They were psychologically prepared for the decline. But when they got new data for that period, they showed that the "smart money

" was concentrated in Bitcoin and cryptocurrency. Listen to this first part, and then we'll discuss it. Last year, when we published the first edition of this report, Bitcoin was moving towards its all-time high above $125,000. Sentiment was optimistic, and macroeconomic conditions were favorable. Back then, we predicted that Bitcoin would rise to $1.3 million by 2035. Since then, Bitcoin has had a tough year. Prices fell by more than 50% from October 2025 to June 2026, reaching a low below $59,000. Sentiment collapsed, and many in the media declared Bitcoin dead. Meanwhile, the macroeconomic backdrop has deteriorated due to the war in the Middle East, persistent inflation, rising interest rates, and concerns about an AI bubble.

I was afraid that the data would force us to soften our forecast, lowering our 10-year expected figure from 1.3 million to 1 million or lower. The media would throw a real party. But the numbers painted a completely different picture. Using the same model as last year, with updated data, we are raising our 10-year forecast from $1.3 million to $1.6 million. This increases our projected compound annual growth rate from 28.3% to 34.3%. And that's how we got to this point. Again, guys, hit the like button if you appreciate me breaking this down for you. Now let's find out why Bitwise is raising its 10-year Bitcoin forecast from 1.3 million to 1.6 million. From an annual growth rate of approximately 28%, they now predict

Bitcoin will grow by 34% per year. When you make a long-term forecast, only two variables really matter. What size market do you cover and what share of that market do you think you will capture? When we analyzed the data, both variables looked extremely powerful. First, the market potential has increased significantly. The projected size of the store of value market over the next decade has grown from $91 trillion to $110 trillion, fueling investor fears of continued depreciation of fiat money and high inflation. Meanwhile, the 10-year forecast for institutional investment market size has increased from 216 to 303 trillion.

Other markets that could be affected by Bitcoin have also risen, including offshore capital and emerging market currencies. This was the first part of the calculations. All else being equal, larger target markets mean a higher potential price if Bitcoin succeeds. At the same time, our belief in Bitcoin's ability to capture a significant share of these markets has also strengthened for several reasons. Wealth management platforms like Wells Fargo and Merrill Lynch are moving towards Bitcoin, not away from it. Central banks and sovereign wealth funds have moved closer to it over the past year, rather than retreating And Bitcoin's cyclical volatility

continues to decline. To be conservative, we left our forecast for Bitcoin's share in each market unchanged from last year's report. Although, to be honest, I was tempted to increase it. Combined with larger target markets, the math resulted in a higher rate. Of course, a skeptic would notice a few points. The money that has so far been channeled into assets to preserve value has mostly gone into gold, not bitcoin. The past year has confirmed Bitcoin's vulnerability to severe declines, and the pace of inflows into ETFs has slowed. Rightly. But we will also note that Bitcoin's correlation with gold has increased. Its 53% drop from peak to trough is significantly less than what we have seen in previous bear markets. And despite

the slowdown in ETF purchases, institutions continued to build influence throughout the decline. All of this is extremely impressive. Be prepared for short-term volatility around the midterm elections, but I am extremely optimistic about what will happen to Bitcoin over the next year or so. Take a look at Bitcoin's weekly RSI compared to 2023. Bitcoin's weekly RSI trend line has broken out and is now being retested, just like in early 2023. This is what we talked about in our Michael Saylor video yesterday: buying Bitcoin today for 80k is like buying it for 30k in 2023. Now is the time to be optimistic about Bitcoin, crypto, and altcoins, my friends. So let's talk about it. The five best cryptocurrencies that will

lead us into the future. We've talked about this a lot before, and I want to show you that we've been discussing this for a long time. Stanley Druckenmiller stated, "I am optimistic about Hyperliquid." This is interesting because when it comes to crypto, I always thought he was a Bitcoin maximalist. Well, no, he's just being selective about which coins to be optimistic about. Today he tweeted: "I am excited to be an investor in trade.xyz as they partner with the New York Stock Exchange ICE to launch 24/7 perpetual futures on Hyperliquid in the US. As a market participant, I look forward to using their innovative product to improve

my investment process." The most powerful tech billionaire in the world, regardless of what you think of his politics, Elon Musk, even tagged Stanley Druckenmiller's tweet about Hyperliquid, saying, "Interesting." So understand that Stan Druckenmiller is one of the greatest investors of all time, and that is why Hyperliquid makes our list today. This is what happens when you create a world-class product. A team of 11 people, over 60 million in revenue per team member, completely self-funded, no venture capital, pure word-of-mouth marketing. Hyperliquid is making big strides in the world. Be sure to subscribe to Altcoin Daily. We told you about Hyperliquid in a video about the best altcoins months ago. It was on

your radar. The next cryptocurrency to make our list today is XRP. XRP today is very different from XRP 5-7 years ago. Ripple is in a whole new era, recently making big strides in implementing its stablecoin. Ripple collaborates with Robinhood and announces a strategic partnership. The United States Treasury Secretary himself, Scott Bessant, speaking at the Ripple Swell conference today, expressed his respect for Ripple, their stablecoin, their company, and the way they are leading crypto in America. Rest assured, Ripple's creation of value and liquidity for its stablecoin ecosystem is extremely beneficial for XRP as a cryptoasset.

Brad Garlinghouse was asked about this directly, he answered directly and assured the XRP community that XRP remains the company's top priority. You see, people are feeling some anxiety about a series of announcements regarding RLUSD, so the focus is on it, and perhaps it's worth recognizing that this was not intended to distract from what we call our "North Star." Yes. We will not do anything except what is beneficial for XRP. I think what we are doing with RLUSD serves exactly that purpose. And even compared to the beginning: now about half of the total volume of RLUSD is issued on the XRP Ledger network, which

adds liquidity. The next coin on our list is the " dark horse" of the industry, at least in terms of Wall Street acceptance, as they are making very serious moves. People don't realize how rare it is to find a crypto project that is still in its early stages but is already actively developing and collaborating with partners, like Canton Network. Of course, Ethereum is leading the way in this area. Solana, Tron, there are other networks that show good results. I mention Canton Network today because it is often not included in these conversations, even though it is clear that they communicate on an equal footing with the Ethereum and Solana teams.

They are carving out a significant niche for themselves in this rapidly developing sector. With that in mind, Ethereum also makes our list. Ethereum is easy to ignore because it has one of the largest capitalizations. People are always looking for coins that can give greater growth. But I really believe that Ethereum is significantly undervalued today. I think Ethereum needs to return to its all-time highs before most people become optimistic again. Ethereum needs to reach a price of around $5,000-$6,000 for people to realize, "Wow, this huge asset that Wall Street and institutions are tokenizing has barely changed in price for 5 years." What will happen next? We will provide answers soon, because we have important news for the channel.

Tom Lee has agreed to appear on the Altcoin Daily show next week to discuss Ethereum, Bitcoin, and cryptocurrencies. Any questions are allowed. So what questions do you have for him?
