I think it's no secret that this has been a very weird year for Tech we usually complain about tember because of iPhone and te toober because of Apple launches along with pixels but it seems manufacturers this year are really gearing up into earlier launch Cycles in order to put their offerings ahead of Apple we first saw it with Samsung who went from launching its Galaxy Note around September to now having me here in July yes this is Paris for its foldables I know hotel room videos for the win thing is Google seems to be the next company to change things dramatically here we were expecting the usual fall launch for pixels but nope invites are now teased for August and
this time we hear the strategy is going to change yet again with more devices than before I'm hea with pocket now and it's time for another Deep dive with allergies from a hotel room guys sorry been battling with a horrible cold for the last 3 days so bear with me I don't think there's been a more inconsistent smartphone series than what Google does with pixels first they were Nexus phones along with the Google Play edition popular phones uh then it started doing two variants of the pixel with the regular and the XL which then died with the pixel 5 series ever since the pixel 6 we've uh had this treatment of a regular and a pro but now it seems that's about to change again what if I told you there's a third model
coming soon and that it's somehow larger though I actually think the strategy is a bit different now you wouldn't be able to tell from what we got on the teaser it's a reflection that splashes color around the back of the phone which yeah also makes it clear that this is a flagship slab and not an update to the pixel fold like some predicted even if sure we should expect an update to the pixel fold at some point anyways let's talk about the lineup itself rumors have been hinting to three devices with a pixel9 pro and a pixel9 pro XL now I know what you're thinking and no I don't think that we're getting a much larger version of the pixel 8 Pro I just think the company is Shifting naming
schemes if you remember the last time the company had an Xcel variant was with the pixel 4 XL in 2019 which by the way I love that Panda color thing is separate rumors we had months ago hinted to a smaller pixel 9 Pro sort of like what Apple does with the 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max it would make sense for us to now get a less capable pixel 9 for those seeking a product on a budget and then a pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro X sell for those that want to go pro in different size options now when it comes to design let's be real the leaks we've uh seen so far look pretty awesome initially on leak revealed what was uh believed to be the pixel 9 Pro XL with dimensions of 162.5 mm x 76.6 x 8.5 similar to the
Google pixel 8 Pro it's designed defer significantly from past pixels though featuring a flat look reminiscent to the Galaxy s24 Ultra the camera setup appears more Compact and the main sensor looks larger possibly indicating a variable aperture lens shortly after on lakes revealed renders of what could be a pixel 9 Pro which uh he initially labeled as the regular pixel 9 uh this model is smaller in Dimensions with 152.5 mm X 71.9 by 8.5 and includes a triple camera system possibly with a telephoto lens and a temperature sensor like the pro model these renders suggest a design similar to the pixel9 pro XL but in a compact form which yeah makes total 9 Pro logical sense later real
life images surfaced reinforcing the authenticity of the leak renders anyone wondering how the bass pixel 9 will look well it uh seems to have similar Dimensions to what the smaller pixel 9 Pro offers but with a slightly reduced display size and thicker bezels recently Hands-On videos of the pixel 9 were released showcasing its flat Edge designed and a new pink color option the nonpr pixel 9 retains the glossy finish at the back while the Pro Models feature a matte finish frosted in glass I mean if Google wants to make a statement with these new pixels I'd say things are all pointing in the right direction now let's talk internal starting with Google's tensor G4 traditionally Google
has used Samsung's xnos chips as the foundation for tenser designs and uh well this trend continues with the tensor G4 though hey you got to admit the exos variants we got this year are far better than before originally there were rumors that Google would unveil its own custom tensor s so code named Redondo built from scratch on a tsmc process node however due to internal delays this uh custom chip won't be ready in time for Pixel 9 instead the tensor G4 will be based on a chip code named Zuma Pro Evolution from Zuma which is what we got on the tensor G3 while tensor G4 is expected to bring improvements and new features it's not the fully custom solution initially
anticipated one noticeable enhancement with tensor G4 is the inclusion of Samsung's 5400 modem which promises faster speeds and greater power efficiency compared to the previous iterations these upgrades are expected to be available across all models in the pixel 9 series and I guess we'll have to wait and see what that rundo chip will do in the future cuz we have no information right now as for the rest of the specifications things get interesting leaked images suggests the pixel 9 Pro could come with 16 gigs of lpddr5 RAM from Micron and 28 gigs of Samsung storage I know seriously Google what year is this with 128 gigs but anyways the separate rumors that hint at to 12 gigs of RAM on the base pixel 9 do validate the possibility of a 9 Pro with
16 gigs though yeah all models with 128 gigs of storage there's also been Buzz around the pixel 9 series potentially supporting she2 wireless charging standards following its certification this is partly influenced by a Google Hardware engineer who leads the development of Next Generation wireless charging for Pixel devices even if yeah this is technically Mac safe from Apple another exciting feature anticipated for the pixel 9 lineup is adaptive touch which uh we could see enhance the operation and accuracy especially when your fingers are wet similar to what we have with OnePlus and Oppo devices the pixel 9 series might also be among the first to fully utilize Android 15's powered off finder API this feature
would enable devices to be trackable and uh situated through Bluetooth signals that broadcast through Google Play services potentially aiding and finding lost devices now in terms of connectivity the pixel 9 series is expected to support non-terrestrial networks ntns through a new modem with initial support for text based satellite communication via T-Mobile developed with SpaceX a satellite getaway app could facilitate emergency communication allowing users to quickly alert emergency contacts after assessing their situation through basic questions now when it comes to camera the pixel 6 and 7 had nearly identical modules relying on software improvements for differences the pros did see differences between
them though it does uh set up a pattern with the pixel 8 Pro and pixel 9 Pro the pixel 8 series introduced Samsung's ISO cell gn2 a 50 megapixel main shooter with improved low light performance potential for 8K video at 30 frames per second and staggered HDR it's expected for the 9 series to retain this main camera however it's censoring if the ultra wide lens and the bass pixel 99 will see an upgrade now considering Google's history it wouldn't be surprising if they upgrade the selfie camera module across all nine models the pixel 8 series used the same Samsung 3 J1 sensor on the pixel 7 indicating that yeah it's due for a possible upgrade in 2024 now as for pricing and availability speculation suggest that the pixel 99
series could be priced at $6.99 for the base model $88.99 for the pixel9 pro and $9.99 for the pro XL which yeah would be pretty aggressive now what is hard to predict is availability cuz announcing these phones early doesn't guarantee immediate launches as remember with the pixel 6 we didn't get to see it until the fall even if we got to see these devices at Google IO to conclude let's just say this is going to be a very interesting year for smartphones early launches more competitive specs because of the needs for AI I mean the added Ram alone is a good enough reason for anyone to consider upgrading the only thing we need now is to prove that those AI models are worth upgrading to a new
phone as uh so far they're not necessarily amazing stay tuned as it seems Tech August will be the new thing going forward and notice we haven't even covered the possible pixel full 2 let us know what you think about the pixel9 series in the comments down below and while you're at it follow us on social media and subscribe to our channel for more videos like this one you also follow me on my personal handles to see me turn very tiny Paris hotel rooms into a studio and then sorry about the allergies guys please give this video a thumbs up if you like what you saw I'm ha thanks so much for watching we'll see you on the next one
