The world famous queserito dead. McDonald's crispy onion nuggets. Never heard of those. Gone forever. Miniature cinnamon rolls at BK extinct. There is almost an unlimited list of food items that are gone from menus, leaving people to never ever eat them again. So today, I'm bringing back to life every most popular discontinued fast food item to find out which ones deserve to come back and which ones should stay discontinued. And then joining me to rate all of these foods is the one and only Chef Mike, former corporate chef of McDonald's. Thank you for being here. Heck yeah. I'm very excited to be here. I appreciate the invite. I'm uh sorry about what I've said. Big L from McDonald's.
You designed this like WHAT IS THAT? IT'S NOT EVEN A WHOLE SLICE of cheese. Big corporate actually sent me here to deal with you. We're going to figure some things out today. It's going to be fun. Ronald knows what you said. No. Wendy knows what you said. The king knows what you say. I'm not worried about the king. The bell. Who's that? The Taco Bell guy. NOT THE BELL. SO, our first item is the Taco Bell waffle breakfast taco. This was born in 2014 and it was discontinued quite literally 1 year later.
This was the first time that they launched breakfast, I think ever. I've never seen a waffle, nor have I seen a sausage patty move like that. This was 2014, so was that Fat Josh era? Well, you only had 3 weeks to try it before they took it off the menu, so like I'm sure no one really tried this. So, let's try it. To get a waffle breakfast taco, you take in pre-made waffle, shape it into a stiff taco shell shape, pop it in a deep fryer, deep fry till crispy, and it holds its shape. Take it out and layer that with a beautiful seared sausage patty. Obviously, breakfast sausage. Little bit of scrambled eggs. And then, of course, you can finish it with some maple syrup, which they recommend. I think that's
gross on eggs, but whatever. We'll try it. I will say the picture I saw and now what is presented, this is far superior. This looks awesome. You know that whenever you go to a place that has a taco stand like this, likely not going to be very good. Really? In my opinion, you do not like the taco. I don't like the taco display. I guess they should have wrapped it in a wrapper, smashed it into a ball, put it in a bag, and gave it to me. But I do like this a little nicer for today, so I appreciate it.
Shall we? Yes, please. You're supposed to put syrup. I feel weird about syrup on my eggs, but you know what? I'll go very light. If you want any, you're welcome to have some. I'm going to dip. I'm going to do a little dip. Cheers. Mhm. You know what? I do have one comment. I think the waffle itself might need to be a little sweeter. Or maybe add some particulate in there. Maybe some cinnamon brown sugar. Oh my god. If this had pockets of maple in, this would be crazy. Overall though, that is not bad at all. I don't really think you're getting that impressive of a product. I think it's good, but like all of these things, theoretically, the flavors that
I'm tasting, you can get almost anywhere. Although it's presented in a cool manner and yes, that's on brand for Taco Bell. I wouldn't say it's a unique flavor by any means. I almost would prefer like a breakfast burrito over this. I might go C plus C tier. We move on. Next, we have the Chick-fil-A chicken salad sandwich. I don't want to eat this. I think at this time what Chick-fil-A does, they have a bin system. You come in, your sandwich is already made. You just grab it and go. So service is really quick. However, once food's dying in the window, you don't want to throw away old chicken. that's already been cooked. So, what do you do with it? Cool it off, shred it, add some sauce, and now you have another menu item to reuse
the old chicken. It died, by the way, in 2017. We don't have an official start date cuz it was there for so long. There's one interesting thing. This chicken salad is actually available. The full honest to god recipe by Chick-fil-A is out there. We even use their chicken. Then to assemble, we have two toasted slices of wheat bread with lettuce, chicken salad. Close their sandwich, and here it is. This is really packed in there. There is going to be a exact bite every time of the perfect amount of lettuce, bread, and chicken salad. Not for me. I'm like confused at the flavors that I'm getting. I've had to eat this as my kids leftovers after they're, you know, dino nuggets and there's like some left.
Like, that's what it looks like to me. How is that not coming out? there. Oh, there it is. All right. So, on that end, I'm also considering a few elements. Seasoning's decent, but everything else is bad. We're going to go F. We got one on the F. We need some S tier. See you, Chick-fil-A. On to the next. Now, I should be very clear. We're not bettering these. They are being made to spec to be as similar to what was released in the restaurant. But I should say something important. We are bringing Bud Better back. That's right. On the second channel. So, if you're not subscribed to the second channel, be sure to subscribe.
YouTube.com/joshuaWisman Recipes. Anyway, let's try this next item. Oh, this is a vintage one. Jack in the box ham and turkey melt. Introduced in 1990 and quietly discontinued a few years later. One thing that really bothers me about this, they place cold wet tomatoes directly on top of melted cheese. I agree with your hatred of cold wet tomato and being from Illinois, look up Jack in the Box Illinois and foodborne outbreaks. There are not a lot of Jack in the Box in Illinois. Bang. Bang. Can I do that? CAN I DO BANG. WHAT HAPPENED THERE, ILLINOIS? No sauce on the sandwich is interesting as well. This looks like so easy to execute. It's toasted bun and deli meats in a thing. Let's taste. This is pretty
basic. It's literally just toasted bread with ham and then cheddar with melted on top of that and then turkey and Swiss melted on top of that and tomatoes on top, which you of course then place another toasted sourdough burger bun right on top. No sauce, just all of this. Look at this. It looks like it doesn't need sauce. If this is replicating what it was in the '90s, maybe it doesn't need sauce. I hate the tomatoes in this. All right. Cheers. I don't hate it. It is a good version of what it is. You know what I mean? Like, it is just ham turkey. You taste all the individual ingredients. This is like, oh crap, I have a meeting or an event or a
family thing and I need something really quick. If you're going to go to Jack in the Box, why don't you just make this at home in 5 seconds? I do have juice all over my hand. I'm going to save that for the next thing we eat also. I heard it's you just rub it on your elbows. I've been wiping it on various things in your kitchen. I hope you'll find it later. I'm excited for that. I would eat this and enjoy it to be clear, right? But at the end of the day, like there's really nothing exciting about this to me.
For what it is, to your point, I'd eat it. C tier. Moving on. All right. Next up, we've got the DQ B. I don't know what this is. It originated in 1990. This is the first time a fast food joint got into non-fat cholesterol-free fro yo. So it's kind of like a predecessor to fro yo. If you remember a very popular TCBY back in the day. That is a frozen yogurt chain that was doing very well. They launched this specifically to compete against TCBY. Well, it didn't go well because it was gone 10 years later. People are like, I don't want the healthy version of ice cream. Just give me the ice cream. So, let's taste it. We took frozen yogurt, popped that into a DQ cup, and more importantly, we have this.
This is a milkshake maker. This is likely what they use to make it. So, we had a little chocolate syrup, some pecans, blended it in that bad boy, topped it with some extra pecans and peanuts, and just to make sure this is authentic, a little flip test, which, you know, some of the nuts fell off. That's fine. WHAT DO THEY SOME OF IT fell off. That means I get it for free. Cheers. There's no way. Is this non-fat? I'm not getting a whole lot of yogurt. I'm getting delicious soft serve ice cream. I like the addition of the nuts on top, a little texture in there. This is what I think. If this had no fat in it, I don't think
it would be as delicious. And if I think of all the frozen yogurts that are out there and apply that in here, and I'm thinking about that. And '90s frozen yogurt, not today frozen yogurt. Can you imagine what '90s frozen yogurt tastes like right now? Like a foot, like a big foot. Like a whole foot. All the toes maybe missing one toe. Don't know. I don't think it's that bad. I think it's like a B tier. We move on to our next item, the Pizza Hut Big Flavor Dip. Look at this guy's face. Well, first of all, it was launched in 2011, discontinued 1 year later. That did not do well, but it did come back in 2020 before then getting killed again. So, they were basically like, oh, look at
this new thing. And everyone was like, nah, it didn't do well. And then they're like, we're going to try it again. And then everyone was like, boom, boom, no. [screaming] This is a great example when marketing executives demand that the culinary team come up with a cool new sharable thing. Think about it. You could bring this to a party instead of a pizza, which is inherently sharable as it is. But we're going to give you 15 of our already developed sauces and cups. Plethora of things. Everyone can dip it in whatever
they want. Think of all the options. I mean, let's give it a riff. Apparently, this is actually two rectangular pizzas put together. That would explain why it didn't fit in my oven. This is a professional series Wolf. It's one of the best ranges you can get. God damn it. So instead, what we did was we baked two separate pizzas just like Pizza Hut did. Put them together with some extra melted cheese. Cut it into individual 2-in fingers. Served with marinara, ranch, and remulad dipping sauces. Wo, [screaming] it's here. It's so sharable. I'm going to do part marinara, part ranch. What's What do you think the difference?
I think they're the same. I'll use yours. It's a basic pizza. I just wouldn't order this. Even if I was going to order a lot of food, I would get as much diversity as possible. I would get a pizza because it's a pizza place. And I would get, you know, maybe a dessert option. If they have wings, maybe I'd get wings. But in what scenario are you going, I'm going to get just this and 17 sauces for all my friends. Just get the different pizzas. Keep this in the grave. Pizza Hut. Don't bring it back. You've been slapped twice now. First time, what is it? First time, shame on you.
Second time, shame on him. No, that's the same. First time, shame on you. Second time, shame on me. That's you. Third time. Yes, that's a perfect set. That's a t-shirt ready to be printed. D for dead. Moving on. This is getting hard. Oh, we only have like 18 more to go, right? OR HOWEVER. OH, [screaming] finally something good. Or so we think. I think it's going to be good. I remember this being good. The Choco Taco. This was created in 1983 and it went away in 2022, nearly 40 years. And they shrimped it from you. I
actually never had one. I don't know. I don't know how it happened. I don't know. Well, I'll tell you why. It came off. It was a legendary item. And then once they discontinued it, then people were like, "The Choco Taco, I love it." And then you'd ask them, "When was the last time you had one?" Yeah. I don't ever order it. Fake outrage for a thing that you loved so much that you never ate. You need to order the thing and then it will stay on menus. Bake. Based on what I'm reading, if this is not an S tier, we're going to have a big problem. I think it is going to be S tier.
I don't think so. I'm open to being proven wrong. So, let's taste. This one is uh effectively you're going to take sort of a pazelle or a thin waffle maker, pour a little bit of waffle batter in there, close it, let it cook. Once it's lightly brown, you open that up, cut out a circle. It's about the size of a corn tortilla. And then if you use one of those taco holders that stand up, you can actually place that to cool in your taco holder so that once it's cool and crispy, it will hold its shape. Now, once it's cooled, you'll fill that with ice cream. Make sure it's filled to the brim. Freeze that completely. Then dip into a melted chocolate dip, which will solidify on the top. sprinkled with peanuts and freeze until you're ready to eat them.
That is definitely a Choco Taco. Now, you did say something before about tacos being served in a serving vessel like this. If this came to my table, I'm pretty happy. This is acceptable because a choco taco has nothing to do with an actual legitimate authentic taco. Is a taco a sandwich? It is a taco. Is a hot dog a sandwich? A hot dog is a sandwich. Interesting. But a taco can't be a sandwich. It's more of a wrap than it is a taco if we want to debate that.
Say that out. Well, immediately you just lost half of it just now. I'm so sorry everybody. Well, how about we eat this? Yes. Cheers. Oh, the peanut. You immediately get peanut on the nose. Wow. Right out of the gate. Delicious. Why did I never have this before? This is insane. When I first touched this, I was like, "Oh, this shell is going to be soft, gooey, perfection." Found a problem with this though. You see what happened? You just got to dip it a little more so there's a little more chocolate on the shell and then that will not happen.
I like that you're nitpicking that cuz this is hard to eat. Extremely messy. But this is the first thing we've had today where I want to finish this. Yes, I do. I could finish that without a doubt. The chocolate's amazing. The ice cream's got a great texture. The waffle is still crispy. But the best part of all, all of the flavors work really beautifully and well together, and they're the classic ice cream flavors that you want. S tier banger. This is our first one. Hopefully there's a few others. So, it's got to be. But if there aren't, there's a big problem. Moving on. Burger King Cine Minis. Okay, I remember these. This one
goes back to my childhood. Came out in 1998. I was born in '96, but they were discontinued. Unfortunately, passed away in 2012. Not very many people know about this one, but I know about it. This is one of the few items that I liked when I was a child, and you took it away from me, Burger King. And it is so legendary that McDonald's ripped it off with their Cinnamelts. Burger King did this first. I should also note these did come back one time in 2025. They came back because people were begging for it to come back. I didn't even know. I missed it. I was too busy being an adult and having to pay taxes. But now they're gone again.
Why are they gone? Did you order them? I don't know. Nobody ordered them. They didn't tell me. No one told me I would have gone. Let's taste. We used a very basic cinnamon roll recipe. Nothing too crazy and just made them mini. We baked them fresh and served them with frosting on the side. You give them a little dunk. And I mean, this looks pretty dang good. I'm not going to lie. It's even in the box. You ready? Yes. Uh. There's not as much in the box as I thought, but still potential. I'm just going to go for it. I'm excited.
Undercarriage looking good. Caramelized. I doubt theirs were like that. Wow. I mean, listen, if you like cinnamon rolls, it's pretty good. Transparently, this recipe in order for us to make it is like literally my Hokkaido cinnamon roll recipe. So Oh, so it's a little bougie. Yeah. I mean, you know, a little salt. It's got a good cinnamon quantity, but I don't think BK's were bad when I had them when I was a kid, but I was also a child.
Do you think this reaches S tier flavor-wise? Sort of. But experientially, not really, cuz it's just a tiny cinnamon roll at the end of the day. It's not breaking any barriers. The Choco Taco is like a unique experience in of itself. You're getting everything in one bite. Whereas this is like, you know, it's a cinnamon roll. I give it an A. I think it's a very powerful A tier. Yes. We move on. Here we go. The fried apple pie. Here we go. Gone. But back temporarily.
Hi. Uh, can I do two of the fried apple pies? They don't have any. Sorry. Say again. Oh, you do have them. Oh, okay. Great. How are they doing all this all at once? Magic. Magic and billions of dollars. Okay, so we have the McDonald's fried apple pie. This is the one thing on McDonald's menu that I have always thought, wait a minute, this is really good. These came out in 1968 and they were put in the grave in 1992. I feel crazy. I feel like I had a fried apple pie when I was a kid. Could have been another limited time offer. One of the things they did just to promote healthier. It's not fried. It's baked.
But they're back for a limited time. We're very lucky to have them. So, we're actually here eating them. By the time this video comes out, these will probably be gone. Oh, yeah. Looks like a fried ravioli. It is saturated in oil. It is shiny. Smells of cinnamon. Smells of apple. And it also has that sort of toasted almost like puff pastry smell. Shall we? Let's do it. Cheers. I mean, the crunch. It's not bad. It ain't healthy, but I'm not going to This is not a video. What is the healthiest fast food? You're losing a foot by the end of this video. I do have a few complaints.
I do as well. The interior, I think it needs to be a little sweeter in my opinion. Agreed. I'm getting a lot of fried, a lot of crisp. It doesn't seem like there's a whole lot of filling. I'm surprised at the quality of the texture. jammy on the inside. It's got that unbelievable nice crisp crunch, but flavor is seriously lacking in the sense that it's not sweet enough. There's not enough frontal apple flavor. There's no salt in it that's enhancing the overall flavor. Had it had those flavors combined with the superior texture that this does have would have been an S. I don't know if this
is A territory for me. I'd say B. That's a solid B tier. We move on to the next. Next, we have the Wendy's Bacon Pub Cheeseburger. This was launched in 2020, but it just can't seem to stay on the menu. It's been on, it's been off, it's been on, it's been off. It's back who knows for how long. You have specific experience with this. I do. So, after I left McDonald's, Wendy's and I had a little fling, little relationship, did some marketing stuff. So, I actually helped promote this burger on social media. Did not create it. Had nothing to do with that, but I got to eat a whole bunch of them. So, you know what they taste like? Yes, I do.
I know what they should taste like. And the secret is that there is bacon fat in the bun. I see monster cheese. I see a sort of like a pub cheese sauce. Pickles, bacon, a square patty, a nice toast. Cheers. Honestly, it's not bad. I think the bun is my favorite part. I would agree. The bun is the best part. Also, what is with these places that are not putting salt on the burger? They didn't season this whatsoever on the patty. The bun is by far the best part. I could eat this bun. I mean, you throw like a fried egg and some cheese and maybe like Canadian bacon.
They should Maybe I'll talk to somebody at Wendy. Hey, Wendy, you should use the pretzel bun for breakfast sandwiches, too. It would go crazy. We'll name it after you and you get a piece. All I'm asking for is 15% equity in the sandwich across all of your global locations. My placement for this is kind of the same with the apple pie. I feel solid giving this a B tier. B tier. We move on. Our next item is Domino's baked apple oven dip. First of all, interesting. Second of all, ew. Domino's probably took their pizza dough and like, how do we make other stuff with our pizza dough? So, they make it
in little knots, throw it in the oven, coat those in cinnamon sugar, and that's it. It was launched in 2021 and quietly discontinued in less than a year. Did not do well. In fact, Redditors have done two things. First, Redditors hated on it because they said it was just a can of apple pie filling being reheated. But the irony is they're asking for it back now. So, they'll launch it for a week or two, and then they'll be like, "Oh, wait. What are we going to do with all these extra cans of apple filling?" Let's try it. So, we took a basic pre-made pizza dough, twisted it, baked it, coated with butter, and sprinkled with a cinnamon sugar mix. Then, we heated up a well tinned apple pie filling, and we have our dip to enjoy.
WO! There's no way theirs look this good. This is the dumb part about it. You can't really dip in apple pie filling. I like it and I don't. It doesn't taste bad, but it's just pretty underwhelming. Yeah. Extremely difficult and annoying to dip. Give it a rip. Let's see. Let's see what happens if YOU DIP THIS. WOW. SO, you got about 1%. Yeah, I got some of the juice. The knots are 100 times better than the dip. I would just eat these. Honestly, this just feels very mid to me. I feel like it's C minus.
Ctier. We move on. Our next item, Arby's RBQ sandwich. Launched in 1977, which feels like a very long time ago. It's been discontinued and revived many times. Apparently, employees hate making it. And I don't know why. I could tell you exactly why. Because the hard part on a lot of these fast food restaurants is there's like a line. And as soon as a messy thing comes down the line, you now have barbecue sauce smeared everywhere. It is a constant cycle of disgusting sticky sauce everywhere and using Arby's meat. Their roast beef comes in a bag that is liquid and then they heat it up and it becomes solid and then they slice it. Honestly, that makes so much sense.
I'm like just not surprised about that unfortunately. Let's taste it. Now the RBQ we actually bought sliced cooked Arby's beef which is not my favorite to look at. And then we just gave it a strong dunk in Sweet Baby Rays which is a pretty basic tasting barbecue sauce. Placed it on Arby's buns. And that is that's it surprisingly. That looks like a butt. That's a dump truck I believe is what they call it. Unfortunately, what's behind the dump truck? Not great. My thumb I want you to know almost [clears throat] went all the way through this bottom. Just the sheer weight of it almost made my thumb go.
I'm thinking S tier. All right. Cheers. We're eating it. I'm just going to go for it. I'm not into it, dude. I'm sorry. What are you apologizing to me for? Cuz I know how much you love Arby's. You told me off camera this is the one you were looking for. I just want you to know that is a complete lie and you were going to be hearing from my attorney. How do you know? No one will know. I'll be honest. It's gross to look at. All you taste is barbecue sauce. You see how that probably was a liquid first? That literally looks like the that the Texas Chainsaw masker put on his face as the mask. Sandwich bad, no
good. If you like eating a sandwich full of basically suspended barbecue sauce that is somehow so much and yet so little and you're drinking barbecue sauce and then there's another foreign texture in there that may or may not remind you of your grandfather's big toe. No, that is the most accurate description of what I just experienced. It's going to be an F for me. Moving on. This is the McDonald's one. I don't even know. Have you even tried these? I wasn't even alive when these came out. I've never tried the original.
This is a product I have never seen before. I'm pretty sure everybody watching this video probably have never heard of these. They are the McDonald's onion nuggets. Launched in the 1970s, gone 10 years later in the early 1980s. The inventor of the McRib also made this. That is correct. I can tell you exactly why McDonald's will never ever bring this back. And the answer is exactly what you think it is. Money. Correct. Woo! McDonald's makes so much money on their French fries. So, if I create something new and people do not buy my very profitable item and they buy onion nugget instead, I am losing money on that deal. That's called menu
cannibalization. I, as McDonald's, I'm so invested in potato, anything that competes with it will never show up on the menu. Let's try it. So, you'd think that these are onion petals, but it's actually finely diced onion, which was then tossed in a batter and frozen. So, you get these little discs. then powdered and battered again and deep fried. And then of course once they come out of the oil, you have a crispy onion nugget. It's kind of like a chicken nugget but with onion that smells [snorts] like something that should be brought back. All right, here we go. Now I think about maybe they shouldn't bring it back. If it had more salt and there was a sauce to dip this in, this is a banger.
I would say too, I'd go a little thinner to get more crisp, a little less of that doughy interior. But yeah, potential big fatty onion nugs coming your way. Yeah, that's I wouldn't call them that. I mean, you can do it. I just would call them something else. I was thinking like big stinky C tier. We move on. All right, next we have McDonald's Arch Deluxe. Launched in 1996, gone. The second that the 2000s hit. This might be the biggest flop in fast food history cuz they spent a record $200 million correct in ad spend for this and it did not do well. When you used to go to McDonald's as a kid, it was like a kid's dream scenario.
So, hey, how about you as a parent? Now, we've got this incredibly expensive upscale Dijon focused $10 burger. The families that were going there at that time were like, why would I eat this? I'm getting this for my kids. McDonald's, I have some experience with you and in you that you've tried to value and plus up all of your menu items and it has always failed. So, just make it more affordable. That's what the people on the internet want. That's what people in your comments are going to say. McDonald's, just make it more affordable.
Let's taste it. This one's pretty simple, right? Toasted bun, ketchup. You place upon that a quarter pound cheeseburger patty. But this is what's interesting. A round slice of crispy bacon, which we figured out how to make round by cross-hatching and cutting out a hole. Lettuce, tomato, and slivered sweet onion. Now, the adult part is interesting. The sauce, which I chose to put three different mustards in. whole green mustard, dijon, and yellow mustard, which we then combine with mayo. You can season with a little bit of salt and pepper if you wish. That goes onto your bun on the top. You add your quote bakery potato bun to finish it off. And that is your Arch Deluxe.
First thing, I have no desire to eat this. I have to eat it, don't I? You're going to make me eat it? I mean, yeah. Cheers. It tastes like a McDonald's burger. It is not going to be high on my rating cuz I've eaten so many of these, dude. But I did want to show you something awesome. While I was at McDonald's, they invented a thing that kind of works kind of. It is called the Ferork. You take your French fries and now I have a pretty awesome fry. Why is it flaccid? Do you see why this maybe nothing should ever be in my face like that?
Do you want to try the fries? We have to rate this burger. Tastes like a McDonald's burger, which I think the dead giveaway is the ketchup. I hate ketchup on burgers. You've got this sandwich that's very beefy. It's got all these nice flavors on it. And then you just kind of throw in this like, hey, what if this tasted kind of like a silicone spatula? So you put this a slork. Yeah. And then I would eat that and you wouldn't be able to detect it. That's a tier. Now I love the Don. I think it's nice on a burger. I think it's classy. I think if they took the ketchup away, take the tomato away, lettuce could go. And then I think it's a fun burger.
Average. It is what it is. Tastes like McDonald's. Like every one of the burgers they've ever made ever. I think most of their burgers are close to a D. And I think this is a little level up. I'll give you that. There's a lot of meat in there. C tier. We move on. WA PK Mac and Cheetos. This does look like something that was launched in 2016 because it did not make it past 2017. It looks a lot like poop. I agree. Here's the promotional image that Burger King made. Here's an image of the actual product. This is what you would call a glowed down.
They were not Cheeto maxing. No, they were turd maxing. That's big Turd Max right there. Let's taste. We have mac and cheese that we've solidified in the fridge and shaped, battered them, froze them, deep fried till crispy, took them out, and then while they're still hot, dusted them with brushed up Cheetos, and of course, served with ranch on the side. These are kind of an abomination, if I'm being honest. I mean, it's better than the picture. I'll give them that. I'm just going to rip it. You ready? Cheers. I don't mind it, actually. Pretty good. It is very rich. My one problem with it, the idea of a croette of mac and cheese feels like a little fancier than fine dining, but the flavor is not giving
that. It's just fake cheese, Belvita, Cheetos. It's just kind of gross. A lot of times when you like, oh, it's got Cheeto powder on it and you're like, "This is going to taste just like Cheetos." But it doesn't because it's not on the crispy corn puff that you know. This feels like it would be so good and yet it's not. And I'm willing to bet you that the one at BK was probably so much worse than this. I'm in between. I'm going to say it says what it is. It was born to be a C. We would like our foods to be shaped in the rank that they are. Going Coming forward, please.
C tier. We move on. Ah, I've never had these. I always wanted to try these. The Costco Twisted Churro. This pissed off a lot of people. It was launched in 2021. They look insane, but they replaced it in 2024 with the boom chocolate chunk cookie. It's funny because Costco is one of those places where food is really not their bread and butter. They don't really care that much about their food cost. So, you would think they'd keep this. I'm going to Costco to buy diapers, wipes, golf balls, golf gloves, toilet paper, paper towel. If this brings me into the store one extra time a month, it is worth selling $150 hot
dog for no profit. Let's see if they should have brought it back. Decided to take a thicker churro pastry, piped into well, straight lines, froze them, and then took the frozen pieces and twirled them together. fried them as usual and coated in cinnamon sugar. I don't know if this is how they made them. We'll see where it stands. These churros are twisted. They sure are. I'm actually going to take this out of here cuz I want the churro butt. It lost its limb. These are twisted nonetheless. Fried fresh. Cheers. Pro and a con. Pro. Custardy. A proper shoe pastry. Con. Not as crispy as I'd like it. My rating on this C. Maybe a B.
I'll give it a B. It is good. It's a B. Moving on. Oh boy. This might be one of the most internet famous ones on the entire list. It is the KFC Double Down. It came out in 2010 and it's been on and off the menu. Nobody really knows if it's discontinued or not because often times it'll stay off for a while and then suddenly they'll be like, "It's back for a day or two." How many calories do you think that is? Let's see. Oh, he's doing serious math right now. Protein is four calories per gram. Each breast is 30 g of protein roughly. So 60 * 4, 750 to 1,000 calories per sandwich.
Protein. Protein's good for you. So you could healthy halo this and say there's less bread, more protein. God, you are such a corporate chef. It's like, hey, our trash food, extra protein we added to it, so it's a little better for you. Let's taste. We'll start by dredging our chicken breast in a copycat KFC seasoning and dredge and flour mix. Then of course, deep fry, remove, drain, and assemble the sandwich very simply. One crispy breast goes down. Monterey Jack cheese, melt that down. Three slices of crispy bacon, kernel sauce, and then add your other crispy chicken breast. This is a lot. If my doctor is watching,
I would like to apologize for me about to eat this. That cross-section is from hell. Cheers. I can't. It tastes good. It's fatty fried chicken, fatty bacon, fatty cheese, and then we got some fatty sauce on it. Like, we need a little acid, something to cut through all the fatty richness. I think that's 1,000 calories for sure per sandwich. I think this is probably like a B for bucket. Bier. We move on. Before we have this last item, I must remind you I just opened a brand new restaurant, Ben & Linds. This is a real place. 2600 East Caesar Chavez. We are open Monday through Sunday. And I would say we have one of the best fried chicken sandwiches in the world for the price. I mean that.
See you there. 2600 E Chavez. The links in the description if you want more information. Our final item. This is one of those items that's very split. I don't like the queserrito. It was launched at Taco Bell in 2014, discontinued in 2023. Not bad. They took it away. I don't know why. Probably because this replicates every other Taco Bell menu. I forget what comedian talks about. It's tortilla, meat, and cheese. Yeah, but Taco Bell, this is the one of the only versions of what you're saying with actual melted cheese. Because for some reason, Taco Bell loves to put ice cold cheese on ice cold lettuce on hot meat to go, "Hey, you. You'll buy
it." And then for some reason, people go to Taco Bell and they're like, "Holy, now this reminds me of Mexico." Nothing like Mexican food. Nothing. Your Abua never made a queserito or whatever this is. In theory, this could be good. I think it will not be, but out of respect and honor, we will judge it in an most unbiased way possible and give it a rip. So, we have a warm burrito tortilla, which we topped with a jarred nacho cheese sauce. Topped it with another warm smaller burrito tortilla. Then, you pile on basic seasoned rice, seasoned ground beef, their classic chipotle sauce, and then little bit of sour cream. Roll that up carefully cuz it's quite weird and awkward to roll this. Then just toast it
on all sides until it's sealed perfectly. Slice it in half. And I mean that looks honestly slightly better than their queserito. The question is where will the ranking land? It is exactly as it looks. I feel like this is like exactly what my AC guy eats every day. Why does that make so much sense though? Construction workers like a dude I 12our shift. Let me get a big ass burrito with just as much meat you can jam in it. Jokes aside though, I don't think it's bad. No, it is not bad at all. It's good. It is what it is. Doesn't blow my mind.
Let's think about this for a second. I'm thinking about all the burritos I've ever had. I've had burritos that have made me think differently about the world. Bring tears to my eyes. This is pretty far from that. And if that's what S tier is for me. 67. You did the thing. No, this is 67. Wait, how does it I was doing this. Wait, what's 67 again? Can you show me one more time? NO, it's honestly it's not a six or a seven. It's a five. If this was on a scale out of 10, I'd give it a five, which I feel like is a C. It's a C tier.
Wait, wait, wait. Before we go, I have a present for you. Oh, because I've worked in the biz, former McDonald's corporate chef, I get stuff sometimes, and I have a thing that's been just shoved in my closet I want to gift to you that a lot of people don't even know exists. I'm not condoning this brand at all. But this is an official McDonald's Oh my god, it has a tag. It is official McDonald's branded onesie. You could keep it, give it away, hang it up, whatever you want to do. This is now yours. I'm definitely keeping this. Well, first of all, thank you. Of course. Um, this is insane. But we have a very important thing to discuss. We only had one S tier. So, what does that mean? We still have to answer the most important
question. Why are these things discontinued? I think the reality is actually much simpler than you would think. If an item is good and an item is selling well, it will stay on the menu. And most of these items were not that good, which probably resulted in them not selling that well. When you talk about fast food items, you're assuming that you are not going to get S tier everything. You presented exactly what would be offered at a restaurant. The ones that weren't that great fall off the menu. Bring that Choco Taco back though. You should make that happen. Make the internet make that happen. Klondike, you better bring that Choco Taco back or I will. Love you so much. Subscribe. Links
