Gator in the Elevator!? | Boys Animal Planet. | Transcript:

We got a fax from FWC about an alligator in a hotel. Um Trace, Scott, and I, we all rolled over here. You know, we got here as quick as possible because this was a very dangerous situation. Hey, glad you guys are here. What's up, buddy? How you doing? Big problem. Here, right through here. So, we left everything open, came back to lunch, went to put some stuff in the elevator, and there was an alligator in the elevator. Really? Yeah. We closed the door, we left it um on the first floor so that no one was able to get in the elevator, but it's locked. It's stuck here on the first floor, but we need to get him out as soon as possible.

This is a first. Yeah. You want I've heard about it before though happening there. In Louisiana last year, an alligator actually went into a hotel and bit somebody. Oh. I told you that Unfortunately, this alligator actually found an open door that was cool inside. So, this alligator probably went in, was hanging out, and then just crawled into the elevator and felt comfortable. Yeah, this would shock somebody. Yeah. Going into close quarters with about a 6 and 1/2 foot alligator is no joke. This gator can easily jump 2/3 of his body length right at Jimmy and could do some serious damage.

Keep this door open. All right, we'll keep it open for you. All right. He jumped forward at me one time and almost bit me in the hand. You know, if that gator happened to just bolt, I mean, there's nothing you could do to get out of his way. So, I don't want to startle the alligator and cause a bite. Hey, I said leave the door open. Once I got into the elevator, this gator was spinning, he was jumping. I knew this gator wasn't going to go down without a fight. Dude, he's a crazy little guy, man. All right, hang on. He's coming around fast, guys. I was finally able to get him by the tail and get him out. And when we got him out in the open, it was game on.

All right, let's get him out this way. Watch it. Watch it, guys. There you go, man. Let's go. Perfect. You know, and we're not just worried about the alligators and ourselves. Now we're worried about the stuff around us, our surroundings. Take your time. Ooh, smart gator. Trey worked this gator real good. The gator got close, but you know, Trey knows what he's doing. You know, we got here as quick as we could and we're glad that we did get here so fast because this is the only elevator this hotel has. There's a lot of elderly people staying here and they needed this elevator working and operating.

The alligator was really feisty and aggressive. It was spinning around every time. Jimmy really had to work it. I'm really glad that we were able to get the alligator out. Oh, jeez. What, you guys can't hear a 6-footer? The gator put up a fight. We got him taped up, secured. No one got hurt and the gator's headed to Holiday. Back tail first. Hi, buddy. Have good one. I got a fax from the Florida Wildlife Commission about an alligator in a pool.

Excessive exposure to chlorine is not really good for an alligator. How you doing? Oh, hi. Oh my god, I'm so glad you're here. I saw an alligator in our pool. I haven't even been able to go outside, but it's real murky in the pool cuz I shocked it this weekend. big do you think he is? I don't know. I'm just so nervous right Okay, come here. It's a beautiful day here in South Florida and I saw an alligator in my pool, which scared me to death. I immediately ran inside and called a hotline cuz, you know, she's a baby. I was just scared. He's out there. I'm going to stay in here cuz I'm I don't feel comfortable.

Okay, then. Sorry, good luck. Okay. Okay, I it's that murky. She said there was a gator in this pool, but it didn't look like it. The pool is really cloudy cuz they just added chlorine to fight the algae and get this thing ready for the summer. It made this probably one of the more challenging catches that we've ever had. You're going to really go in here? You got a better idea? Dude, it could be a 9 10-ft alligator. And if you bump into his head or something, dude, he could really hurt you or kill you, man. I mean, I thought if I could see him,

I could either do a frontal catch on him or maybe grab his tail and get him out. Problem with a gator at night is he's got a huge advantage. He has very good night vision. I don't. Was that a happy laugh or No, I might die. He said he had less than a foot visibility under the water in the swimming pool. It's like driving at night with a real bad fog. You can't really see anything.

Um I have a flashlight. It lights up a small area underwater. He may see me totally perfect underwater. If you don't have a visual on him, anything can happen. He was under probably for a good 3 to 4 minutes, you know, and there was nothing. Even with the pool light on and my flashlight trying to find him, Paul was gone. I wasn't able to find him anywhere. Not being able to see Paul and knowing there's an alligator under there with him, you know, from up here, I don't know what's going on.

You know, and that's dangerous. Did he pass out? My calf really cramped up. Is it really? Oh, that sucks. I kind of lost track of how long I was down there, I guess. Kind of kicked in like I need to get some air, so I went to push off the bottom and my calf just locked up in a cramp. But you did find him here? No, he went through my legs right there. It's spooky, dude. It's just I just see the tail go by and I'm like, Every time I saw him, I just saw the tail in front of me and I don't want to reach out and grab it cuz he'll spin and tear my head off and I can't defend myself. I can't see him.

Hey, hey. He's right here. Right If I can see him, I'll be able to get a hold of that tail, drag him up into the shallow. You got his tail? I was able to get a hold of his tail real gently and drag him out. By the grace of God, he didn't go nuts. As soon as Paul got him into this area, you know, Paul went to touch him one time and the gator went nuts. He didn't really get good traction, but when he did spin, it carried him longer. And he actually got pretty close to my leg. If you grab him by the tail, he can spin around and grab a hold of his own tail, which happens to have your fingers on it.

That's why he's missing his tail. Is that how he lost his tail the first time? Yep. Yes, sir. Stay with me, sir. This alligator was holding his own. 10 minutes into it, he was still ready to go. He's a good boy. Hey, thank you for not killing him underwater. Oh, man. Obviously, it's more risky for me to do it the way we did it, but uh I just thought I had a better chance of finding him and getting him out without getting him too banged up. He's a good boy. He's It's challenging, too, and I kind of like that challenge. I thought Jim was going to dive in there with me.

I almost did. I'm just happy that they showed up and got my house safe again. Thank you very much. All right. No worries. Bye. Have a good night. Okay.
