welcome okay so I've got a head off to the airport and I want to introduce you to Episode one of Europe's most underrated cities now we've got our Paris we got our Rome and Venice our Prague a Berlin all of the really famous well-known cities but I am going to this year visit some of the lesser-known cities the ones you might not think of stray away when you think of that country because I'm sure they are full of hidden gems you know the ones that always pop up on Skyscanner there are like 17 pound returned like this one today I mean like where is that what is that should I go there well today with my 17 pound return fare with Wiz and we are heading to Poznan in Poland so we're

gonna see what it's like we will see what the city has to offer but such a low airfare and just being away from the main touristy hubs that everyone will go to krakow warsaw places like that let's see what Posner has to offer and whether you should go there on your next trip all right are we ready for a montage let's do a montage three two one go and well would you look at that we're impulsive just dripped into the EBI give you a quick look-see it didn't take long to get from the airport at all this is pretty nice really nice an apartment building as well really easy to check in

pick up the keys from the box upstairs be nice people let me out yeah oh don't let me out my God look at the weather hey no balcony squeak oh hey girl yes well I think we've lucked out here I really do we you are here with me so we're gonna start exploring Poznan tomorrow I might find another supermarket or something or in nearby restaurant just to pick up some food myself in a bottle beer come back unwind it's in a long travel day no it hasn't is less than 2 hours on the flight shut up Ellie I'm getting older right two houses like you know letter to Australia for me now okay unless I've anything to report tonight then I will see tomorrow and we'll start seeing whether this is an underrated say in

Europe well good morning all right first day impulse now let's go and explore but first of course parts 9 is giving me all of the Budapest vibes right now which we always live for or hate Rama so just left the old town down there walked all the way up and towards the imperial castle hello Bevin is iam as well going on all right see what the crack is so just made it into the castle part and look at these grounds you know very good vibe in passing I'm very chilled and also very friendly and loving it right how do I get in those doors are closed I'm gonna figure this out together

we're gonna figure this out how does all you get into the castle we will never know fine days closed or something yeah these grants are really pretty tonight and so forth boss nine ten Hutchins yeah it doesn't open yet I such an early bird but nothing ever opens damn it so right here we got the Grand Theatre looking fabulous I just want to do a huge high tide to Anita for giving me so many recommendations for paws nod thank you for that I have a screenshot the mall on Instagram and we're gonna be doing them so I'm really confused actually like I'm in a theatre I think it's just museum entrance but I went all the way up to the top edge with all the people I went to take it off aside castle museum and they were like

yeah don't him okay I just asked it's closed for renovation which is why none of the doors are open upstairs okay so I was just looking at museums I go to learn a bit about the history find one it's least temporarily closed I just don't want me to learn here wow I don't know what it is but it's you know I'm gonna walk through it nice alright seems as the city of Palestine is adamant that I learned nothing we're doing it the old-fashioned way right so these which I was obsessed with photographing the Craftsman houses and apparently it's where they used to sell fish candles and salts some of the old trade signs can still be found from the 16th century can they know let me find them is that one let's say yes nailed it

so this right here is Town Hall I think they're just opening up so while I waited for breakfast I did some more research and made a bit of an action plan for the rest of the day by the way breakfast at jag Lana was absolutely delicious I went for the tofu scramble so next up is the Museum of applied arts I think this is where I think I'm in the right place but the way today has been going who knows so cost 15 slot see which is about three pounds and we're going to go up to the observation deck however you get up there aha hello apparently they offer you jackets if I got that right it's quite windy up here wicked

oh boy that's totally worth three pounds just about alone and good timing as I can massively the school kids like little kids came rushing onto the deck that timing we love to see it so that was great tonight n also the art gallery really nice to have a little wonder around some really pretty items there and you learn a bit because they've gotten quite a few boards up in there so would recommend anyway next I then took a wonder into the shopping district and went to starry Brauer which is an old converted brewery now Shopping Center and the architecture is absolutely stunning inside

a bit of a tip if you want to grab a bite to eat find one of these and I just had a khuskhus and hummus bowl cost me about pound filled me up and filled a hole and yeah so I found a budget look after these good morning it's day two here in Poznan so we are gonna head to Lake molta Lake there's a lake right in the city and so gonna go and have a walk around if they've got some of those scooters I'm gonna hire one and yeah let's get outside of the old town and stuff today and see what else Poznan has to offer to see if it truly is a European hidden gem would you just stop it I don't want to fight with you it's early I need coffee so on my way to the lake in the mirror or phone Cathedral

Island give you some information here on the board when you enter yeah this is the way to the mural anyways let's go see the pretty churches and I just got Randy could all the Arts it's illegal they're here would have missed this but I thought this was a coffee shop so hopefully it is the ladies in there are so lovely and she just turned two and cookie for you because I made you wait a couple of minutes at all thank you I like cookie surprises so yeah just gonna eat well drink my coffee take a moment take it all in and we'll carry on yeah we found the mirror on this post that's 3d mural I tried to step back a bit to see you field give a bit more of

an effect and that is really cool Wow definitely stop by and take some photos and have a good look hooray we made it to the lake it's a lot train track here and I think I've seen you think about this like there's a miniature train I'm guessing that goes around well soon see if one passes us but let's have a little wonder shall we see how long it takes us so I think my suspicion is correct there's the train tracks all the way down I bet this place is packed in summer or there's no one here I know it is quite cold still lovely little walk though fancy so I need to tell me that there's a luge somewhere on this Lake where is it no they're pretty sure that's it I love television but on your own is as much of

fun I don't think so we'll go and check it out definitely we should because of how he's tracking down we'll find out anyway lots of information in this vlog as always subscribe the quality content just pass this it looks like a water park as he slides oh that would be fun in summer anyway lovin aye all right so we officially made it the other side of the lake seems like a lot going on here different activities I don't know if any of them are open though I've been trying to either them up from the other side doesn't look like anyone's on any of them but oh yeah happy travels anyway let us continue it seems I'd be a lot to do for kids it's a little race track up there I think it's Oscar either one doesn't

matter dry slope skiing anyone done that one so terrifying see yeah it does feels really abandoned right now cut pretty would be to go on that and ultimately terrifying of course look bar down there's a couple of bars and restaurants that way as well but they're all closed it's such a shame have to come back so here's the luge again looks closed this looks awesome the tracks really big or behind him issues my shares oh I love losers he has a big track that's pretty cool so I think we can conclude the most of what is on this side of the lake is here summer spring summer awesome time however even in winter if you've got a nice day like it is here now quite sunny still then am 10 are ten come for a lobe

over wound around or go on of the city bikes and come round lots of cycle tracks all the way around the lake so yeah really recommend I don't take me that long to walk all the way from that side all the way around to here by an hour or so we've got probably another 30 40 minutes 30 minutes I'd say probably so finish up so not bad at all would recommend I thought we'd give lunch ago here not vegan place cute so I've just stopped and had a cheeky as will be what I'm going to have just one for lunch now I've been trying to find Polish dumplings they didn't help me - lymph is this about here thank you and we succeeded when we didn't expect to the little vegan Bistro I found and they were to die for and out and if you

want to try it out polish some things so just how to stroll back to the square and by the looks of the weather this is the last day to get any nice clear day shot so take it all in okay it's day three it is very rainy today in pulse nine which is gonna be a great test because a great city has to have things you can do all year round you know what I mean we've been really lucky with two really sunny bright days to wonder streets go to the lake sit down Park and miss that and still the weather sights more about I will have my bags with me we'll figure it out so we're gonna help some museums because that's what you normally do you want to be inside on

these rainy days and so I'm going to try make this content as fun as possible and if not then I am sorry because in general museums don't make the funnest content but I shall try so spent the morning in we're a little bit of chill morn had a little bit of line which is always nice to like incorporate so they're the trip especially on a rainy day so again head out now we'll grab some lunch I'm absolutely Hank Marvin grab a coffee because I need it and yeah well it's up some indoor stuff and see why it's like

so tickets cost 12 slots which is not too bad just about to pound 50 and yes a temporary exhibition love old photographs all the signs those seem to be in Polish so I have talked about the old Google Translate let's translate it and learn something translate text straight away Google pigs okay I found you downstairs and the permanent exhibition we've got some English signs yes actually really cool so it's all about the uprising in Poland and the five independence so there is plenty to learn and also they've done it

really well like looked down there I know it looks really cool and really drying so far so does not seem really interesting they're talking about the Polish home and how it was so their fight for independence of freedom again and it was very sacred to them to fill their homes with everything that was polish and they're made their countries they still saw it as Poland and they were really adamant to pass it down to generation that we will be independent we will be free and pass everything down like that yes really good so I love little things like this you lie

absolutely survive if you're into learning more about like World War one the uprising revolution things like that attend would recommend this museum there's so much to read and learn and see yeah everything you want in a good museums would recommend one more thing I'm gonna mention another one you see and he didn't the stories he makes you feel something like it's blow-by-blow the eve of the uprising and then what happened and like as battle began and people fighting and then you come here you get to try on the unit then Monkey Trial uniform that's join the insurgent army get a weapon and pick up a gun it's like it's almost leading you through as if you were here and that's something really impressive with

any kind of museum you'd be able to just pull you in to that time almost and it's like yeah it made me feel some sort of way is like really so there was no English translation at all in that museum which was fine and we just kind of didn't really get a sense of story or what you were looking at really it was mainly war memorabilia and military memorabilia and things like that and so it's still cool if you're into that kind of stuff but you won't get much information out all right Museum number three the Archaeological Museum let's go Wow look at this place and as cheaper than the other two this one was Tims Lottie so two pounds Wow

so the surfing they've gotten upon I'm an exhibition he'll miss great lo collection of ancient Egypt they've got a Middle Ages sections as well and hit or miss whether anything's in English for you to follow along but a nice collection for ten slots you really can't go wrong I totally ordered a new breed's and I'm like oh sorry about it so the reason there's a new breed's the weather is pretty awful outs and I am I'm actually doing work in the evening catching up on a little bit of admin and because tomorrow is our last day and we're flying out so catch up a lil bit we've got all of tomorrow pretty much there is a place I wanted to try and the doofy going to have a and it's that 20 minute walk the 20 minute walk back I've been

walking for like three days straight now a lot my poor ankles are just not liking it anymore so you breathe don't be ashamed we don't travel shame around here oh it's not cold oh this is to say I thought it was so go drink sell this in Budapest as well but I haven't tried this once an Apple one and we will talk about and like eternity fries which has like hummus and seasoned cheese and all that I'm not even sorry this is a little wooden for how cute all right so we're not doing the mock phone but I'll pop on the screen here what the place is going the right order from oh my god what the fries oh hey oh wow oh coordinate this is a la food hmm I didn't know how big it was gonna pee or anything let's give it a go this

kabob is massive absolutely huge dogs ten out of ten absolutely banging drink scene there we got sauerkraut we got hummus we got vegan cheese there's some sort of fake meat and I'm living for it so I'm gonna enjoy my watch a little bit of Polish TV pounced on the TV I'll never do an Airbnb for hotels really let Scott's with me then when you nice to put the TV on before he goes to sleep sir no I'm missing him so I'm gonna eat my food well that is nice these chips I mean come on they're so gooey so I will catch you tomorrow I've got a load of tips written down and when they got sense from them asked what people want to know but I've noticed a few things since I've been in past nap will ran this video up in the morning as

I'm packing and yeah I'm my final thoughts on poplar but already I can tell really enjoyed it now I'm gonna enjoy this about okay so I'm going to check out to my air B&B soon oh my god it's echoing in here but I thought I'd leave you off on some tips for paws now so few things that I have noted down over the past couple of days jaywalking don't do it Brits I'm calling you I because we love a little bear jaywalking I was always just crossing even if the lights were red because literally their roads were empty that's what you do in Britain don't do it here do not I was getting so many looks and all that is it illegal here oh boy so yeah don't jaywalk to car payment now when I got here I actually went to an ATM because I always find whenever I'm

in Europe most places are pretty good at taking card however I'll always come across the place that won't accept card and then like all I really want to have a coffee hero he once I've dinner here or I once again to this museum and they don't everywhere takes card so I now have plenty of slot see that actually because they're all in hundreds no one would take so I had to use card anyway so top tip you don't it's very cash free here and very heavy on card payments like contactless and everything everywhere I have been takes card language barrier you do not really need to speak Polish so I have had no problem at all speaking English and the level of English has been absolutely phenomenal

so don't worry too much or get nervous about language barrier and obviously try and pick up a couple of words you can it's always nice but don't be freaked out you'll be absolutely fine getting around Poland and someone said is it easy to get from pause months other places Wroclaw I'm so sorry if I'm pronouncing that wrong I know there is like a two-hour train to get there to ask 20 minutes and it seems that all over Poland there seems to be a really good train and network that gets you all over the place getting to and from the airport now I got an uber when I got here and I'll actually bring it up now how much that cost me to get to the like old town center from the airport cost me

1940 which is about 4 pounds so there you go 4 pounds for an uber cannot complain especially when you live in Birmingham and to get to my house it's about 50 pounds got asked my vegan and vegetarian options as you've seen in this video there is a plethora of vegan restaurants and cafes and options in non vegan places and vegetarian food like you are going to be absolutely fine you will eat like an absolute king someone asks about vintage clothes now this is one thing I really want to try and do was show some like really cool local artistry shops but couldn't come across like a crazy amount that was one I saw on the shopping high street which was just off down a little alleyway there's someone know

sighing I think was called Portobello which is a really cool little vintage shop with loads of clothes not super vintage like the summer stuff there was like old Topshop stuff but how do good roots around and there was a couple of items that looked pretty cool so that is the one place I found public transport I am not needed to use it but there are trams all over the city so tram seem to be the way to go but unfortunately I think well fortunately I didn't have to use them here at all and I do love walking but and this needs to be a great tram network if that sink you want to do to get around a little bit quicker and then someone asked about beggin politeness I love the poles the Polish people are

amazing when I was in Warsaw I loved them here just everyone's so friendly I've come across no beggars like on the street I haven't seen much homelessness in the town center everywhere has homelessness obviously homeless people everywhere but I haven't seen anyone no-one's approached me no-one's approached we just try and get me to buy anything or ask me for money or ask me for anything like that so I haven't had that experience prices no one really asked I didn't even think it's very budget-friendly for a beer if you enjoy a beer you're spending about two quid a pint for half a tour for half a litre and for eating like out in restaurants or cafes you're

looking at around four or five pounds for a main normally around the five pound mark which is just incredible and also for coffee you look in a pane right between one point fifty and two pounds for a nice cup of coffee in a nice little cafe so yeah very budget-friendly and as I said like the uber game from the airport it's just so ridiculously affordable if you're coming especially from Western Europe you can have a nice surprise because Western Europe could never with the prices here so definitely a budget-friendly location so they are tips Wii U for paws man I'm gonna round this off and finish this video now because I am I'm gonna have to go out in the rain bunker down find a coffee shop and just get some work done

but there are plenty of coffee shops but not all of them open so it's not like eleven which is really annoying Poznan this seems like any other city really geared towards some time however if you want to come and take advantage like I came here with with air 17-pound return if you want to do that and take advantage of a cheap flight then it is a great little place to come and explore for a few days if you get the opportunity even in winter now is really looking day one and two to have really nice weather that's where I got most of my exploring done and then yesterday and today you know it's just pretty drizzly and cold but I tried to take you to a few museums that were open so you can spend some time inside as

well would love to come back in spring or summer when things really start taking off here go back to the lake and do all that because that looked amazing I have a feeling it should be such a good vibe here in summer and so yeah ten out of ten would recommend Poznan if you get the opportunity to come here or add it to your itinerary if you're visiting Poland 100% absolutely love my time here and I really hope you enjoyed episode one of most underrated cities in Europe this definitely is one so don't hesitate just come and visit Poznan it's amazing all right I'm gonna love you and leave you don't forget to subscribe for more travel content and also a random content we put up
