I'm Andrew this is my Kung Fu sifu Jose and this is his sifu Alex Richter who hosted us on an amazing once in a lifetime tour of Hong Kong we wandered Through the Jungle visited temples did a lot of kung fu traveled along the mountains and across the seas and ate a lot of great food so come along with me on my incredible week-long journey across Hong Kong okay in exactly 12 hours I'm gonna be heading to the airport and then I'll be going to Hong Kong be there for a week I've just got a little bit of packing left once I get that done it'll be time to go it is 6 15 in the morning it's time to go to Hong Kong

now I'm in Dallas and up next is a 13-hour flight to Tokyo thank you so that was a 13-hour flight I am now in Narita Japan now I have to go through security again to catch my flight to Hong Kong but I've got like a three hour layover so it shouldn't be too bad foreign

I am at my gate the flight was delayed a little bit which I mean it gives me more time but uh that means I get in later so now I've just got about a three and a half hour layover luckily I got some sandwiches and some water so hopefully that'll bring some life back to me foreign

okay so took a train from the airport to Cowan station I probably should have kept going and just transferred to another train but now I'm gonna walk about a little under a mile to my hotel probably a really stupid decision but it shouldn't be that bad it's really humid out here but thankfully it's not too hot right now but man it's humid so I'm close to the hotel but there's a really busy intersection and you have to cross underground right now and I think the corner I just entered from is kitty corner from the hotel

foreign Journey it is 12 50 a.m Hong Kong time and I have been traveling for I believe 30 or 31 hours the people I'm meeting up with are out partying and they're trying to get me to come out but that is probably not going to happen I feel like what I need is some sleep and some rest and then I'll party tomorrow I brought flip-flops just in case but uh the hotel provides its own slippers which is super nice they barely fit my feet all right now I'm going to figure out how to use the safe so I can do some safekeeping

the water pressure on the shower is the best water pressure I've ever experienced in my life it's so powerful that it's almost like a jet booster and it moves the faucet itself if I don't put it in the right position okay I'm sorry but you have to check this out see how it moves and if I lift this out well now that I've showered and gotten settled I think it's finally time to sleep it's 3 37 a.m see you tomorrow I ended up going to bed way too late because I got a second wind thanks to jet lag and now I'm up earlier than I

expected so which is actually quite a reasonable time but it's time to get the day started yeah what's up so we're about to hit up a 7-Eleven it's actually not too bad out today it's humid but it's still pretty cool and there's a nice breeze oh

what's up man how's it going I see you here all right so we just met up with my sigon he's my instructor's instructor and we're just kind of wandering around maybe going to mongkok today but we're about to meet up with a couple other people there's so many Bill valleys pick this up all right so we've met up with Mikey Dean who is uh the British guy from New York basically we all train Wing Chun together but I've met a lot of these guys in New York and there's also a crew from Germany who trains Wing Chun and uh

Bruno from the Bruce Willow Channel and we're just I'm just vlogging no vlogging yeah how are you doing I'm good this is a family-friendly Channel by the way is it yeah I'll just bleep everything out already yeah okay um I want everyone to know that I am very family friendly in spite of what other people say I'm actually quite a teddy bear so here we are in Hong Kong this is my lovely assistant Andrew who's on vlogging duties he's very handsome and then look at this Alleyway it's fantastic you're gonna do fight scenes up here at some point Hong Kong is well plays quite fantastic I've said fantastic way too much I need to I haven't eaten my thesaurus for the day Hong Kong is super aesthetic so far I

know right it's like a combination of like Japan and China or something yeah it's kind of wild man like it's just there's you know we haven't even got to the other spots that we still need to go to what time did you get in last night anyway I got it at like midnight yeah it was rough yeah this place feels a little different from mainland China but it has the same rusticness it's like that Star Wars lived in kind of thing yeah no absolutely I mean if you look it's like kind of all the architecture in the buildings are sort of kind of slightly old yeah and Raggedy and yet there's like a definite kind of modernity to some of it as well you know what I mean super cool up until the 1980s this was a five-floor

traditional Hong Kong style apartment the Lee family had the top part so this is basically the house that Bruce Lee grew up in he went to elementary school right there and this building here this used to be called the Shamrock Hotel and the Lee family used to eat in that hotel all the time and there's a photo of Bruce Lee in his apartment in a fencing suit if you look in the background you can actually see that building back there and the Lee family used to eat there all the time what we're getting into today all types of nonsense is it all family friendly yes yeah I mean we can edit it out what's not headed out all Mikey shots

over here with a little Blue Streak there that white one there that's a good job that's Queen Elizabeth Hospital that's where Bruce Lee died although he was actually dead before they brought him there everything just looks cool so that is the gym of Liang Ting the last closed door student of yipman the Kung Fu instructor who taught Bruce Lee and that building actually used to be the school that yipman taught out of and then when they moved the locations to Bangkok Lang Ting took over the old gym so learn things gym is essentially yipman's old school and that's where I trained here in Hong Kong now they used to have a bunch of neon signs that hung over the road that used to be a very

iconic look of Hong Kong but I guess because of modern safety standards they're taking a lot of them down but there's an old one still up right here thank you so there used to be a bunch of wing Chung schools right across the street here some belonging to other students of yipman and they would have fights at the rooftops so it was the only place they could fight without anyone watching them you couldn't fight in the park because people would see you couldn't even fight in an alley people would see you so that's why they have the fights on rooftops when I was 18 I just had an actual map and I knew Jackie Chan's office was on Waterloo Road so I just started walking up and looking at the numbers because I had the address

and I found his office I just walked in there was a lady there I'd like to meet Jackie Chad and she looked at me like oh my God why are you here Mr Chan is not here but then she gave me all these fan club magazines oh wow and gave me a free Jackie Chan fan club subscription she was super nice but I literally walked in there thinking I was gonna meet Jackie Chan this place reminds me a lot of fujang the place that me and Robbie went to in mainland China back in the day underneath it you also a Chinese name it doesn't actually make sense in Chinese it's just those three characters sound like

dundasi is the closest they can come to so everywhere we walk there's this delicious smell of food yeah it's wild I don't understand why everything smells good here whereas in New York there's all sorts of waffles yeah I have a friend here who lives in Hong Kong and they applied for their child to go to elementary school and they asked how many instruments the child plays so like even when the kids are already in preschool they're already looking like to get them in the right kindergarten and all that kind of stuff so apparently those are not movie stars those are tutors they have names like TT sir and winter loud but because school is so competitive you can be as my sigon put a rock star for teaching math street is pretty cool there's lots of

old neon signs this is hello willy called Loyal guy ladies street because this is where ladies would come and do all their shopping and if you go further down lady Street eatmon Live right at the end of ladies trip these streets look so cool but the more I walk and the more delicious food I keep smelling the hungrier I get you see this one over here up on the 11th floor of that building is the Hong Kong Chinese martial arts Association that is a very important place because it was the first time all the Chinese martial arts in Hong Kong unified different styles to teach there I've learned Southern praying mantis in that building but it's a very cool place Hong Kong to me kind of feels like if

you took the insides of Japan and stuck them into the aesthetic of China you can always smell that durian right before you see it but I still haven't had a good durian so I might need to change that on this trip it's like an old building mixed in with all these new ones everywhere you look there's all these tiny incense shrines built into the buildings there's another one right there occasionally you see a turtle crossing the street um forget you

so inside that Buddhist temple they're selling these pieces of paper and when we were in China we learned that's a traditional thing where you burn paper because it represents money that you're sending up to your dead ancestors and then the building like many traditional Chinese buildings has a really high threshold and usually the higher the Threshold at the door the more uh prestigious or prosperous the person who has the building but since it's a temple I assume they also try to have a high threshold oh all right so now we are going to Calhoun Park apparently there's going to be some Kung Fu demonstrations around this time of day it sounds awful I'm not interested in it whatsoever I'm not here

for the Kung Fu yes neither is he there's some workers putting up bamboo scaffolding over there and that's something I remember when I was in mainland China was all the scaffolding was bamboo all the people sweeping the streets had bamboo brooms okay yeah I cannot get over how much character this whole place has I actually was expecting Hong Kong to have been a lot more modernized by now in terms of its aesthetic but I love that this street and this area still has a lot of the old buildings and the old look to it

how's the air conditioning oh it's quite lovely so right now we are at Calvin Park which is actually pretty close to our hotel which is nice there's a lot of Tropic foliage tropical birds just flying around and chirping and then you've got the cityscape in the background super beautiful they're trying to choreograph a fight right now to film later and it's funny because my sigon is a Wing Chun expert but he's also incredible at doing round kicks even though we don't do that in our style it's done martial arts for a very long time foreign

dance being performed by a toilet flat School Twilight foot is a type of Southern Kung Fu that has like very round attacks from my understanding super limited understanding and then we also ran into moxifu who is an amazing hungar master and he has some amazing Instagram videos thank you all right now we're going across the bay to do some other Shenanigans so we're getting into the MTR station

thank you I forgot you were allowed to walk around with beers in public good stuff how are you doing all right it's 9pm now do we have a fun night we had a great night some action tomorrow great night great oh that was a pretty wild night we actually got back before midnight though so but I'm tired so I'm gonna go to sleep see you next time
