A dairy farm is a very complex biological system. You're dealing with many different elements like live animals, the weather, soil conditions. You have fluctuations in feed price, you have fluctuations in the milk price. I see a real big possibility for the agentic AI revolution. Welcome to The Farm Brain built by Gemini. The biggest challenges for a dairy farmer today are the big market forces. We always have to be at the top of our game in order to stay in business. We're using Gemini's latest flash model to create agents that figure out ways to grab the information that we needed.
So we've got collars on every one of the cows that's gathering data 24/7 and we're also collecting feed data, weather data, milk quality data as well. We're collecting hundreds of thousands of data points every day. We built another agent that does all of the formula calculations off of that data. And then the third piece is we built out a user interface that was able to give us all of those key metrics that we're looking at on a daily basis. The next tab is my favorite. This is called the Variable Static Margin Calculator, very complex equation that really helps drive where the
performance of the farm is from a financial standpoint. It will tell me if the farm's on track or not. I got interested in using large language models and the whole agentic side of that quite a while ago, built some agents. And what I found was that it was really token heavy. It just wasn't efficient and it wasn't consistent. But with Flash, I've been able to easily build the agents and then run them without burning through all my tokens. I went around my farm and took a whole bunch of pictures. It was really interesting to see what the agent did. It updated our dashboard.
It could tell us all these different metrics that I never told it. It just got that context from those images that I uploaded. Seeing the progress that the Agentic models have made is really exciting because I took something that was a very taxing on my brainpower and now it basically automated that, that now allows me to spend time doing other important tasks while still getting the information that I need to manage the farm. Hey kitties, you got the kittens? I guess coming into this, I didn't think it was going to be a whole lot different. I thought there's no way it can really be that good yet. And I was proven wrong.
