Hong Kong and Japan are two amazing places I had the privilege of exploring this past summer my name's Andrew and so far I had an incredible time experiencing Hong Kong's natural wonders ancient temples mouthwatering food and incredible culture so join me as I visit some of Hong Kong's quieter areas for heading to Japan to reunite with the rest of the adventure archives crew on the last of many days spent here in Hong Kong all right it's the next day I'm feeling a little bit off so we are going today to Stanley Beach on the southern end of Hong Kong Island and we're also going to be checking out Grandmaster Yip man's High School I okay so we're here at Stanley the beach is basically on the other side of this
Market feel free to look around and yeah in about half an hour we can meet just on the end of this Market here this Market kind of reminds me of yuu in China just in the sense that there's all these different stalls and all of them are selling something different such a wide variety of stuff that you can find here there's randomly a nice cheese and
wine spot in the middle of all of this admit impulsively got a new shirt how could I say no to that you kind of like this I have to get this one too okay the whole table all right we're going to grab some food hopefully I will feel a little more refreshed after that a beer on the beach would be amazing but unfortunately I cannot do that right now I will die all right let's try this virgin P colada uh that's very good pineapple taste good creaminess I feel Life coming back a little bit
the chicken has this peanutty sa sauce on it that's really delicious rice is Hardy and the egg is crispy with running yolk which is the perfect and best way to cook a fried eggs in my opinion um first walk is about 14 minutes in that direction to St Stevens College which was the University that Yip Man went to around 1912 and then 24 minutes in that direction is Titan Bay from Enter the Dragon and there's a few other little locations that were in the movie right so we are at St stev's College which is the college that yman attended way back in the day it's really kind of far out on the southern part of Hong Kong Island to the left is a beautiful view of the
harbor during the second world war there was an internment camp here thousands of inmates were imprisoned during the Japanese Occupation here but of course this would be many years afterman went to school here but this is also part of the history of this place yeah I know that a part of this school was damaged during that time so I believe part of it had to be rebuilt so it's probably a little bit different than um Grandmaster Gman would remember it so over there is the Stanley Main Beach which seems to be the main part of the beach that Sandy enough to be able to lie down and enjoy the ocean now there is a very steep uphill sidewalk I don't know maybe this exercise will actually make me feel
better right seong was going down all these stairs to check if there was a better path there was not these are the most terrifying stairs I've ever walked in my entire life they are this high and that long looks like we're here we're at the American Club this is a kind of high-end shishi Mishi Invitation Only Club most people who know Enter the Dragon know that the big fight scenes outside were shot on tennis courts they were here what other group of tourists would be filming this stuff because I mean we literally just need to get it seems like most of the ways to actually see the bay featured and Enter the Dragon are through private property yeah unfortunately there was no
way to get down to the Cove featured and Enter the Dragon but now it is time to go back and I'm just going to rest all day see you Ryan see you man see you brother see you man enjoy the rest of your day all right we are on the bus it's going around the rest of Hong Kong Island and then we'll transfer and head back to Calon all right now I'm making my way back to the hotel so I can shower and do laundry and just rest it's been a long week but an amazing week that I will never forget oh man I am finally back at the hotel I'm just going to lie down for a bit and then I need to figure out laundry and I'm probably going to shower too okay I'm feeling quite a bit better after showering and being able to just chill a bit here still feeling off
unfortunately it's a bit cold in here um but I'm doing some laundry I'm going to get some food in the hotel cuz I don't feel like going out again on the plus side this Lake Kong m is awesome and the other thing is this is actually going to force me to learn how to properly take care of white clothes all right we've got some I think some sort of fried fish fin a fried squid cake some pork soup with Nappa cabbage and Corps fungus and a steamed fish head I believe and then I've got some soup over here stuff I got to eat really carefully I'm
usually a Messy eater so I got to be careful not to stain my new shirt it's pretty legit stuff actually soup is definitely what I need right now okay we've got some clam stir fry Tire Malaysian shrimp braed duck some ox tongue and some Curry vegetables let's try the clams and now the shrimp the bra duck that duck seems like western style or something but still very good the skin and the fattiness is delicious the Oxon seems to be in a tomatoey sauce a tomato sauce is kind of like spaghetti sauce almost it's a really familiar flavor creepy vegetables are pretty good got baby corn okra carrots potatoes if I weren't sick I'd rather be out at some restaurant but this is not a bad second place all right now this is insane we've got
some weird Sushi had some more legit sushi but I'm going to Japan so I figured I tried the fusion stuff there's one with some cooked steak and there's one with some creamy corn and fish R then we've got a Malaysian durian cake we've got a red bean puffed pastry dessert from Taiwan by the way I think the durian one is also pandan and then we've got watermelon cantaloupe pineapple and of course dragon fruit all right let's try the sushi first steak Sushi that's not great to be honest kind of cold and chewy now let try the corn
row not bad nothing to write home about but nothing awful now we'll try the durian cake I grabbed a huge slice so hopefully I actually like it's good it um you can definitely smell the Duran flavor but it's not overpowering goes really well with the creaminess of the cake not bad now we'll try this red bean puff pastry that's quite good not too sweet it probably be really good if it were fresh the puff pastry might be my favorite pineapple is good last night's watermelon was better dragon fruit is pretty good kind of subtle not too sweet K is actually very good usually the melons are the neglected part of the mixed fruit at buffets but this is good that was very good I ate pretty quick and I stuck myself so I'm going to call
it yeah as far as meals go that was definitely one of the more pricey meals I've had here uh it was $41 for that Buffet which granted it was pretty good fancy food but it was also nothing phenomenal so even by Western standards that was pretty pricey and if I weren't sick I would much rather have gone out found a meal that probably would have been way cheaper and way more delicious but I got to rest so I think all I'm going to do now is just pack up most of my stuff and uh relax in bed it is now 10:08 p.m. I've got most of my stuff packed besides the stuff I just need to pack up last minute after tomorrow morning it's time to go to sleep tomorrow we say our final goodbyes and we head to Japan have a good
night final day in Hong Kong flying out this afternoon we are going to go get some baking duck for lunch and then it's time to head to Japan much more delicate here oh that is the best soup dumpling I've ever had in my life I'm not someone with a refined pallet but I can tell that is like levels above in
quality some really fancy picking duck with uh Goose ra and some sort of apple juice jelly yeah it's it's some fancy got some sweet and sour fried fish fried rice some pork belly with brothy stems and some other vegetable dishes including this one with uh Lotus seeds tour wouldn't have been anything if I didn't have a group to come with so it's been absolutely great to show you guys Hong Kong I hope you guys had a good time but it was really great to have all you guys
