So, the other night here's where we saw the centipede. don't see anything. All right, we're going to keep going exploring the cave. Going back this way. Well, we have scoured this cave and I have not seen a single centipede. Dang. Doesn't mean we're going to give up yet,

but it's not looking good. There's that giant whip scorpion. I guess I could try to catch him. I got it. Look at that. Is an absolute monster. Wow. Look at the front of that thing's face. this is the biggest whip scorpion I've ever seen. And I was definitely able to catch it using the entomology forceps. Was much easier to be able to just nab it from the side. Now, I've always thought that these things did not bite, but let's see. Oh, wow. Yeah, that would give you a heck of a pinch. I mean, those definitely look like fangs. Let's see what happens. See what happens when it hooks on to me. It's just digging in. Ah, yeah. Okay, now he's got me. Wow. Oh boy. Yeah, that's sharp. Oh yeah, he's got a hold of me now. Ah, but I do not believe that they are venomous. So,

this is just going to be a painful little pinch and probably nothing more. But look at the legs up front. The legs are crazy looking. And similar to the Solpugid, it is just uh grappled onto my hand. Although, when you look at it, what an absolute nightmare. All right, I'm going to just take it off cause all it's doing is just latching onto the skin. Are you able to get a tighter shot like that? It doesn't feel good. I mean, it hurts. It's fangs. I think it definitely popped through the skin. But without there being an invenimation, really don't have anything to

worry about. And considering we couldn't find the dragon fang centipede, I guess I got to get bitten by Oh. Ooh. Okay. I'm feeling a little something now. Ow. Oh, it's biting from the underside, too. It's got like a four sets of pincher fangs. [clears throat] Oh, yeah. It's digging in on the underside. Oh my goodness. Ow. Oh, he's just totally latched onto my hand now. Yikes. We got to get some kind of a thumbnail. Ow. We're going to keep rolling while getting the thumbnail. Now, whip scorpions are related to solpugids and

vinegaroons. And for the most part, the ones that we've caught in Central and South America have been completely harmless. I've never even been bitten by one. But this is without question a whole different variety. Sometimes we have to get the thumbnails right in the middle of the episode. Okay. Well, we got the thumbnail. Uh there's no telling what's going to happen with that bite. You can see it definitely popped a few holes in me, but pretty confident that this creepy crawly is nonvenenomous. So, it just goes to show you that sometimes the things that are super scary

looking can actually be rather harmless. Now, if you were a gecko or a small rodent or another good sized bug running around in this cave, this could be your worst nightmare. All right, I'm going to actually take the camera and walk her back down to the wall of the cave myself to let her go. Going down the jagged rocks with a light in my face. Back to the cave you go, creepy crawly. All right, there we go. And she's off. Thanks for the bite. Chilled out now. And actually does kind of hurt. It's starting to swell up. I guess it's probably going to be a good

experiment. Probably the first person to ever get bit by this weird cave whip scorpion. Okay, creepy creature back into the cave. Bite. It's strangely starting to hurt more than I thought it was going to. I'm Coyote Peterson. Be brave. Stay wild. We'll see you on the next adventure. We'll check in 12 hours to see what my hand looks like.
