What started as a chance meeting at a World Cup watch party in Koreatown has grown into a very special friendship and an outpouring of support for a 70-year-old man. Nate Yee recorded the moment he spotted Peter near a watch party. Now, you can see Peter there. He's in the yellow vest. He's holding Mexico and South Korea flags. So, Nate invited him to join the group. The two have basically been inseparable ever since. After learning that Peter could use a little help, Nate started a GoFundMe for him that's already raised more than $18,000. The hardest part is actually going to have him focus on himself. He is extremely selfless and extremely thoughtful of others.
What does Peter say about all these strangers like wanting to know him and help him? He's so grateful. Like, that's the first thing he does. And he's so happy and he actually has He has a thing. He tells people to applaud. So, he says, "If it's a good day, we need to applaud." And so, whoever's there, we're all like And he is really about giving good energy to others. Peter's trade is sharpening knives and scissors. So, Nate is now helping him find some new customers. Nate says he's received something so much more valuable in return from all of this. He's got a friend now who reminds him to look for
the good in people and take time to applaud life's happy moments. One of the things Yeah, let's applaud it. One of the things that Nate told me, he said, "You know, I had to kind of practice aggressive kindness." You know, he had to like say to him, "Come on." And it was You know, Peter was like, "No, no, no." He's like, "No, no, no. Come join us. Come." So, it was like aggressive kindness, but worth it. Sometimes you just really have to put yourself out there. new terms. Aggressive kindness. What is that? Extreme selflessness and thoughtfulness.
Yes. All right. I'm learning all these things. I don't know anything about any of it. So, Aggressive kindness. I just think it You know, you just never know. People cross your path for a reason. And now they're doing good things for each other. Such a positive light. Spreading positive energy. And it just makes you feel good hearing stuff like that. Yeah. And I just love that mantra of like we applaud when it's a good day. And I love that, you know? It just cheers you up a little bit.
