W USA9 weather impact is sponsored by Morgan and Morgan. And on WSA9 meteorologist Topper Shot, we got a pollen reading on Monday. And you know what? Not crazy. Uh trees are moderate. And in terms of the count, super low, like 16. Remember when it was 2,300. So even though it's in the moderate range, it's pretty low. High for tree, high for grasses. That's the season now for the rest of the summer. Weeds are low. Mold spores still in the uh in the moderate range. Okay. So let's talk about June. So June 1st was the beginning of meteorological summer which is comprised of June, July and August.

Average high 81. By the end of the month though the average high is almost 90, you know which is you know which is sort of weird when we talk about a heat or a heat wave. Okay? And there's no definition by the National Weather Service what a heat wave is. And we usually we've gone in the past 90 degrees three days in a row or more. But you stop and think about it. If 89 is the average high, 90's within the realm of average, that's probably not the best definition of a heat wave. Maybe 95 would be a better uh number to take. Average preip 4 in both airports. Highest lows temps 104 and 43. Average number of days 90 degrees or higher 7 and a half. Okay, we're going to be warming up. We're focused on Wednesday through Friday, but really it's

Thursday, Friday, it's going to be getting kind of toasty. Highs 82 to 92, but not humid, so that's good. What do you need? Shades, sunscreen. Yes, please. This is some of the strongest sun of the year. And of course, download the WSA9 app. So, early in the morning on Wednesday, 9:30, uh, you know, temperatures in the 60s. There will be some clouds Tuesday morning. It will become mostly sunny and spectacular. By lunchtime, 75 downtown, 70 in Hagerstown. So, temps a little below average. You see this northnortheast wind? So, you could take lunch outside. Uh I would be in the sun just to stay warm. Uh perfect day to walk and get lunch. Perfect. By evening temperatures upper 70s. Futurecast has a couple of

sprinkles here. I just don't think I would worry about that. Is it possible? Yes. Uh 99.9% won't see any. So, I wouldn't plan around that. By Tuesday night, you're walking the dog before bed temperatures comfortable. I mean, upper 50s in Cumberland and Hagerstown and Frederick and low 60s in DC, 50s in Waldorf and Fredericksburg. By morning on Wednesday, everyone's in the 50s. I suppose there could be a couple 40s in Frederick and Hagerstown, but essentially 50s and then but it warms up quicker on Wednesday. We're 70 by 9:00 and we're 80 by lunchtime. So on Wednesday, maybe you want to take lunch under undercover because 80 degrees and full sun's pretty toasty. Even though it's not humid, it's again super strong

sun. By the way, it takes about 18 minutes to get burned. So don't, you know, mess around. Say, I'll do a chore and put it on later. Put it on before you do that chore. 78 Manasse, 79 Waldorf, 78 in Fredericksburg. Lunchtime Wednesday. Wednesday evening, you know, toasty but gorgeous. Upper 70s to low 80s in DC, 78 in Waldorf. Hardly a cloud in the sky. And Wednesday night, you're walking the dog temps in the 60s pretty much across the board. So, pretty mild night, but comfortable. I mean, even Wednesday night, we're going to be able to turn the AC off because we'll be in the 50s again. And that's a testament to low humidity. So, if you have dry air, it can warm up quickly and cool off

quickly. And we're going to do that uh you know, Tuesday night and Wednesday night. Okay, let's talk about the drought. Some good news. Okay, our miserable stretch of weather has essentially taken north and west of town from a severe drought to a moderate drought. We still see the red though down here, which is an extreme drought, Fredericksburg to Charlottesville. But you all had so much rain last week. We think that's going to improve and we're going to have a new update, but not until Thursday um for the drought monitor. So graphing out Tuesday, yes, some clouds to start, pretty much full sun, a few clouds by evening. Gorgeous.

I mean 50s to start, mid70s uh to finish. Now we have a game Tuesday. Marlins in town. Perfect. I do think though it's a 645 first pitch. I do think that you might, you know, want just a long sleeve or something, you know, late in the game. Temperatures upper 60s, low 70s. That's a little cool to some, but other than that, it's a pretty good night to watch baseball. Now, look at these temperatures. They're going to go up. 70s on Tuesday, below average. Low 80s Wednesday, above average, upper 80s on Thursday, well above average, and then of course low 90s Friday, Saturday, well above average. Now, what happens over that? After that on Sunday, we're still around 90 on Sunday. Drops a little bit next week, but not much. 80s and high

temperatures, the average 80, 81 right now. That's a pretty good stretch. It really is. I think we deserve a little warm air. So 70s to low 80s to upper 80s on Thursday. Pretty much mostly sunny across the board. I mean some clouds to start Tuesday, but then mostly sunny. After that, we're looking at, you know, sunshine. We'll say partly cloudy Friday, Saturday, partly cloudy Sunday, maybe an isolated shower. Afternoon showers possible Monday. Wouldn't plan around that. Again, temps fall a little bit into the mid 80s and that's in town through Wednesday.
