Um, we've got a kestrel that's gone into an ambulance station over in Morden. It followed in a pigeon two days ago and hasn't been able to get back out again. On arrival, we were informed in fact it was a sparrowhawk. My mate told me makes me look like an idiot so Look at that kestrel. Lovely. Thank you very much. See you in there. Um, it's a working ambulance station so they're heading in and out to emergencies all morning, all day, all night. Um, just takes a little bit of coordination just to get us in. Hello, it's Caroline. Thank you. Yeah, good morning.

Thanks, guys, for Now, inside the ambulance center we spotted the sparrowhawk on the rafters. It's going to be one or two things so we can either catch him or he can go out of his own accord. Either or. I mean, he looks healthy, he looks he's very mobile so But before we could even attempt to rescue, the sparrowhawk flew into a window. Fearing the worst, we rushed up the ladder to retrieve the sparrowhawk. Here we go. But thankfully, it was okay. So it does feel a little bit thin. And because he's had that little face plant, I think we'll bring him in.

Arriving back at the center, Judith was waiting to inspect the sparrowhawk. What? Yes, I'm okay. How are you? All right, thanks. That's the sparrowhawk. He did feel a little thin. I could feel the keel bone a little bit more to check over and just see if he's suitable for release. So Jeez, not happy. Some spiderwebs around her. She carefully inspected it for wounds and then cleaned its talons. Upon finding no obvious injuries, she then sedated the sparrowhawk to do further checks.

Finding nothing, it was now time for a flight test. I'm going to carry him back in the box. Judith released her into a small enclosure. She was still a bit wobbly from the sedative and was struggling to hold onto the branch. She'll be drunk, to be honest. But finally, he took to the air beautifully. Yeah, she flies. Having passed his flight test with flying colors, it was time to return him back to the wild. So, this is really exciting. So, we've um So, we're going for a release this afternoon. Um we're not going to release it back to the same location uh because

it was just too busy there at the um ambulance station. So, we've just picked a place just around the corner, nice bit of greenery, nice bit of uh woodland around, and uh just to give this guy give this girl the best chance possible.
