Time to recharge with repowered tech. So, the idea is that this is a site entirely dedicated to selling used, but most importantly, refurbished, equipment at a bargain price, because apparently if you don't buy a laptop from them, they'll just take it and throw it in the nearest dump. Remember how you said you wanted better intros? Well, they're having a back-to- school sale right now. You get free shipping and a one-year warranty on their computers. This is actually wonderful stuff. Oh my God. What is this, a vintage Apple Studio display? Pickup. 28 hours of driving. Light.
ThinkPad X1 Yoga. Wait. ThinkPad X1 Yoga. Oh, that's cool. So, this is an old-school IBM XT keyboard. I just closed my eyes. I heard.Oh, they have a Model M. You're having a lot of fun there. 11th generation. Because the other one wasn't a very good offer. This is a much newer system for the same money. O. O. O. Vintage Apple Mac Performa 400 with a gigabyte hard drive. 60 megabytes. OK. Yes. I meant to say that the case has yellowed and rubbed a little, which is quite natural for its 33 years.
Likewise, brother. Oh my God. Game consoles. Good. PS4. Another PS4. PlayStation 3. The Beatles Rock Band. I think that sounds like the most copyrighted thing I can imagine. Never mind. I want to hold your leg. Video Game Fridays are here. Get 30% off video games, consoles, and accessories every Friday. We're filming this on Thursday. If you order tomorrow, you can get a 30% discount. Wait, I'm being stupid, guys. They're having a back-to- school sale.
20% discount on laptops. Well, they're having a back-to-school sale. Hey. Oh my God. I'll wait until tomorrow for Video Game Friday. I will place an order for a bunch of very interesting equipment. But most importantly-I want my old Mac. Surprise, it's me. You probably didn't expect to see me again 5 seconds after seeing my face. Haha. First, we have an iPod Nano here, and a power supply that's the same size as the iPod itself. The first iPod Nano was like this. The second iPod Nano was like that. The third iPod Nano was like that. The sixth was like this. This seems to be the sixth version. So, this is the Apple Watch. Essentially, it was the Apple Watch before the Apple Watch actually existed.
We live in a time when, in my opinion, many people are nostalgic for the iPod. I have to say, there's a certain charm to having a separate device in your life. Wait, did it look like this? Yes. So it's such a small square. I will say that the condition is not bad. A little dirty, sure, but I like that it's silver. Can I have a lens tissue? I actually want to see if I can clean it. So, it is very simple. There's a radio, music, but the coolest thing is the clock app so you can switch between different, uh, watch faces. It really looks like an iPhone 4 or something. So, this is a 16 gigabyte iPod Nano. You could just, uh, clip it to your shirt or something, go for a run, right?
Oh, yes. You're literally inside one of those commercials right now. Yes. So, when you connect an iPod to a modern Mac, it is recognized as a sixth generation iPod Nano. It is important that the software is up to date. So it will automatically check tomorrow for new updates for iPod music. So, there's nothing on it, because I was going to say that iTunes no longer exists, but actually on a Mac you can go to Apple Music and buy music. Oh my god, man. It still looks exactly like it did in 2010. Miley Cyrus is even still here. Songs cost $1.29. When do you think they moved to $1.29? I think it may have been like that a long time ago In 2009, they stopped selling all songs for 99 cents and started offering
three pricing tiers. Are you saying I'm so behind on life that this happened 17 years ago and I only found out today? Let's try buying the song on iTunes? How about "September"? I mean, today is literally September 21st. Oh, a classic. Okay, there should be a button right here. Here it is, but, but the button, wait. I think it's because of the screen recording. Wait, wait, wait, wait. Copyright. Copyright, copyright. Well, it's an M4A, but it's a regular file that I can do whatever I want with. Oh, it's only 44 kHz here. Oh, I wanted, well, without loss of quality. Well, never mind.
Close. Okay, of course. Sync Synchronize everything that is. Yes, Earth, Wind & Fire. We have. I'll just go back to long hair and be a lot sadder, actually. Yes. No, you know what? It was horrible to be here. Oh yes, boy. You see, you can rotate it with your fingers. I don't know why we're studying here. How much did we pay for a slightly scratched but fairly decent player with a working battery? iPod Nano 6th generation. 75 bucks. Is this a good deal? This is, in general, the market price for a device with a working battery. Yes. While these headphones certainly do n't sound great, there's something special about simply plugging them in and making a conscious effort to
load music. I understand a little bit why kids are so into iPods. Again, I'm not saying you should go out and buy yourself an iPod Nano. But what I am saying is that when searching on Repower, I was focused on just one subject. There are actually several elements to this. One minute, please. We need to get it. Wow, it's a lot smaller than I thought. This is the Apple Macintosh Performa 400. This is the entire desktop computer. It came out, uh, in the 90s, oh, 1992. Oh. Before Apple sold true all-in-ones like the iMac, it usually came with a CRT monitor. So the idea was that this was a way to have a kind of low-profile computer. I had an old Mac when I was about seven, I bought
it from a neighbor. I didn't have a password and I was never able to use it. It was some kind of banned computer, so he gave me back the 20 bucks, I gave him the Mac, and I never saw him again. So that was the last time I used a Mac since the 90s . I'm going blind. Supposedly it works, they checked it. It's just the system itself. We need all the accessories, that's why I bought this. This keyboard was also listed on the website. Yes, the sound wasn't great. Yes. Good. Theoretically, this is an adapter that will allow us to connect to VGA, where we can connect a real monitor. Oh, wait.
No, no, no. Wait. There are a bunch of DIP switches here. Damn it. Oh, what the hell? This is too much. Oh no. We'll just plug it in and see. Does it work? So, I got myself a CRT monitor. I have very little confidence that it will work. The monitor is turned upside down just to find the problem. Something is happening. Well, everything is gray. Try 1 14 67. Give me some time to figure out which switch is the problem. Probably this one. Okay, my friends. We collected a lot of things. I don't just have a one-button mouse. Well, I meant a single-click mouse, but there's really only one ball. Alex, I couldn't get that adapter to work. Yes, but you are having some success for me now.
Perhaps. Oh, yes. Listen to these sounds too. It's like the happy sounds of a hard drive. Imagine that there is a little Ratatouille there. He's just spinning that disc. Some things certainly look very familiar. This mouse cursor looks like it's straight out of Mac OS 27. Oh my god. You have to press and hold, right? Yes, it is necessary. So, it has 10 megabytes of memory. There is the Organ Trail here. It took a while, but I was able to download Organ Trail. Okay, this is a notebook. This is a test of the old keyboard.
Let's play Organ Trail. I think this is probably a good idea. Okay, you're about to embark on a great adventure. Other people in my van, Alex, you got in the van. You will both soon die of dysentery. We are at Matt's Department Store. OK. Wait, what the hell? This is Matt. This is old Matt. I mean, Matt, if we leave too early, our oxen won't have enough grass. I think it's April, right? April is like April rains. Okay, we're in Independence, Missouri. We feel good. I don't like it. What is this? Oh no, it's water.
Okay, crossing the Kansas River. We've already eaten over 50 pounds of food. Is there an option to eat your neighbor? We could take $5. I spent a lot of money. We don't need money for this. Oh, damn. Oh my God. Alex Brown. Alex. We bury and mourn the dead. It was fast. Oh, look. It's not even that deep. Three hits, nothing. Oh no. And literally everyone is dead. We are all just dead. I will stay in Independence, Missouri, where I belong. And I'm damn glad we got this performer.
How much did we pay, probably, for our Perform 400 in the first place 350 dollars. Is this good? I don't think there are many Macintosh Perform 400s for sale right now. Prices are jumping around like crazy. How much did we pay for all our accessories? Total $420. Not bad. Some would say-very good. Oh my God, I almost lost this. I found a copy of Pokemon. Why? You may ask, why did I buy this? And I will answer: why not? I took it mostly out of curiosity. So, Repower doesn't have many game things. It looks pretty good. I know there are a lot of counterfeit cartridges out there, but for
3DS games they are not that common. Let's check if it works. And let's see what Pokémon we can steal from the previous owner. Oh, not really. It looks like someone reset the settings. It says that the previous user's data has been deleted Devil. So often things are returned without inspection, if it's a computer. Yes, it's better to clean the computer. But in the Pokemon Y save, I could have left at least something, I haven't played Pokemon Y in a long time. Both X and Y, and Sun and Moon somehow passed me by. Butter. My name is Maslo. Butter, your adventure begins now. Oh, look, look, look. Look at the Wii One of the 12 people who
bought the Wii U. I know. I think I've seen enough to know that this is a working copy. How much did we pay? 35 bucks, and it was 20% off, because it used to cost 50 bucks. Oh yeah, it was Video Game Friday. It's cheaper than when it was brand new. Just yesterday someone bought a cartridge for $35. So we paid exactly what it was worth, which is quite acceptable. Video Game Fridays, come to Repower. Discounts are waiting for you there. Who would he choose? Because honestly, I hate all three of them.
You hate them. None of them are good. So, if you've been watching the channel lately, you know that I'm hooked on Linux. Linux is a great way to revive old systems, but this one is n't really that old. This is the ThinkPad X1 Carbon. If you buy a new computer today, you realize that you're paying a lot of money. But ThinkPads are cool, and they last forever. This one seems to be around 2022 2021. 2021. This one was also in very good condition. Very good. Oh, this loop is so nice. One touch. And, oh baby. Look at this soft-touch carbon fiber coating. You need to have your own "dingus".
No, wait. Very unexpected. I used " dingus" in another video. My mistake. Um, you use this in every video you make. That's a funny word. Dingus. Did you smile a little? If not, you are callous inside. It's immediately obvious that this is for business, because there are call and reset buttons. This is the saddest corporate thing I have ever heard. This thing cost about 1400 bucks at launch. 1400 US dollars. Okay, it's turning on now. So that's great. So, no, everything is fine. COS is back.
Camos. I wonder what I should do with this. Oh, everything is fine. It loads in Windows. Yes, Windows 11 Pro. While my ThinkPad is being configured for Windows, although I'll probably tear it down and upgrade the system, I have something else, completely in the style of the brand. This, my friends, is a keyboard similar to an IBM model. I say that because what the hell happened to these keys? This looks disgusting. Oh. Oh no. You might ask: Austin, what's wrong with you? Why did you buy this disgusting, sticky, dirty, residue-covered keyboard? To this I will answer: I will get real pleasure. Oh, this key is so sharp.
Why is it so sharp? Well, my friends. My ThinkPad X1 Carbon just received a copy of Pop OS. This is my first time using it, and it's actually a very good version of Linux. There are a lot of cool settings here when it comes to personalization. It looks a bit more like macOS with a dock on the top panel. I have to say it's a little weaker than I expected. Inside is a Core i5 1135 G7. That's not bad, but there's only 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD. This was almost certainly the base model X1 Carbon. The screen is decent and I was also able to set up the fingerprint scanner.
I don't really need it. But today we are looking at I will say one thing: the left speaker sounds much louder than the right one. But overall, everything works pretty well. This device is fairly new, so it can easily run Windows 11. But my question about the ThinkPad is that it's right on the cusp of a significant It was supposed to cost $300, but we got it on sale for $ 240. The thing is, for that kind of money you can get a MacBook on M1, but you're very limited in macOS. Is this a good price? They start at a minimum of 300 with something. Really? I'm not bad with ThinkPads, but we have a problem, friends.
Adriana and Kenzie spent a lot of time cleaning our Model F keyboard. It looks like new. I spent hours removing each key individually. You took absolutely every single one of them. Yes. It came out in the early 80s, right? 81st. 1981. My question is: does it work? This is not a USB-C port at all. We actually bought a special USB to DIN adapter on Amazon. Theoretically, I plug this in via USB and it should work, theoretically. You often say " theoretically". Well, because I don't know if it works. Oh, oh. Oh no. I mean, it makes great sounds. So, I have bad news. We spent a lot of time troubleshooting, and I'm pretty sure the
problem is with the adapter from Amazon. This sucks. Especially considering how much you paid for it Okay, we don't have to talk about this part. It doesn't matter. I think we should talk about this I guess we'll just take the Repowered team's word that they tested it and it worked when shipped. Well, yes. This can't just be a $200 paperweight. It still smells like 1981 Well, I hope not. You're going to give it a good cleaning.
Why me now? Well, a lot of what we bought at Repowered was a bit vintage. What we So, we have a pretty good DualShock and a PS4 Slim. Actually, it's pretty clean. So, the PS4, we already did a video about it earlier this year, is still a pretty viable console in 2026. You can still play a lot of games, and of course, there's a huge library. Looking at this instance, I think it's a one terabyte model. She is in very good condition. Let's check if our PS4 is really a PS4. Can I think of at least one word that rhymes with "four" and it's really problematic.
Let me try. I'm trying. No, nothing works. I press the button. Here, hold the PS4 if you're a PS4. Oh my God. Hey, beautiful. And they also reset it to factory settings. I have to say that Repowered did pretty well. Someone really cares about the cause, and I think that's underrated. The disk drive seems to be working. Yes. I mean, I think pretty highly of Repowered. How much did we pay for the PS4? Because I know that since we bought it on sale day, we saved a little money It was supposed to cost $140. A little expensive. With a discount- $97.97. Less than 100 bucks for a PS4 is a good price. And especially for the Slim version in very good condition, they usually go for 150.
This game still looks great. This depth of field effect is simply incredible. Oh no. Oh my god. Devil. Uh, yeah, I think we can safely say that the PS4 works. So what can we say about Repowered? There is n't a huge selection of goods and the prices can be a bit high, but you can find great deals if you're patient and wait for the sales days, especially on retro items. There are things there that you won't find on most refurbished sites. But let me know if you would try Repowered? If you liked it, be sure to subscribe to the channel and click that bell, friends. Okay, I'll end this with a game. I call it an ode to 1981.
