Swahili breakfast. I'm super curious. Come on. Here we are. Yeah. Swahili breakfast. Morning. Good. How are you? Oh, this is the lady, the owner of this place. Her name is called Malin. Huh?

Morning. How are you? Oh, look at that. So, this is where they do the swahili breakfast. This is the mandazi. Oh, mandazi. Yeah. In Nairobi they call it mandazzi. Here in Mombasa we call it mahamry. So first they roll out the dough. First they roll out the dough and they cut it into corners. You see? Now she spreads them like that. Then from here they take them. Oh. And then they fry them over here. Super interesting. Yeah. Super interesting. Making a lot of that. What else do we have here? This is vi. It's a whole potato that is been steamed. Then they peel it off. After peeling it off, they put this the red sauce which is chili and then cuts then

cuts them out and then marinates in the flour. Yeah. Now they put it right here. Oh wow. They're like masala potatoes. Yeah. Masala potatoes. So is this mainly only in Mombasa or you can find all throughout Kenya? Mainly it is only in Mombasa the coastal side. Coastal side because the influence of the Arabica that's why it's mainly based along the coastal side. What else do we have here? Here we have uh the chapati. So here you don't put any yeast on top of it. After that you will see the mama. That's how now you spread. And what do you eat the chapati with? Chapati you can eat it with beans,

green gum, beef stew. Oh. So this is the baja. Yeah. So the baja making it like a rolling it like a bowl and after that he puts it in the fire. Is this a common breakfast for you? It's a common breakfast. Most of the things taken in the breakfast, they're also taken in the evening. Really good snack for all day. They look delicious. I can't wait to try those. So what do we have here? Peas mixed with paper and chili. And yeah, spicy. Yeah, it's spicy. Oh, coconut in there, too. They will spray the coconut on top of it. This one is best when you take it with the mahamry or the chapati. So, I think we're having a big breakfast today, aren't we? Yeah. Very good. Oh, what do we have here? This is coconut

beans. Coconut beans. Yeah. There is soup. Oh, soup as well. Beef. Beef soup. That's a tomato potato gravy, right? Look at that. I'm overwhelmed, man. We are going to taste. Let's try it out. There's so many good foods to try in Kenya. So, what do we got? We got these two stews, right? The two stews and we got bajia. We got viazi. We have chapati. This is called katlesi. And here we have the peas. The peas with the coconut. These are kebabs. These are samosas. And this is spaghetti. Oh, spaghetti pastry. So, you just take a chapati. I take a piece of chapati. Oh, it's still so hot and fresh. Dip it in the sauce. Roll it like that. Take it down.

M. It almost tastes like a spaghetti sauce. That's true. Yeah. It's also maybe a little spicy. So, we have also the beans here. Oh, yeah. Take some of that. And then we got these beans. Oh, look at that. Oh, let's take it down. M. Oh, wow. You can really taste the coconut. The coconut flavor is so potent. So, should we try this one next? Yeah, we got this one also. We use it with the chapati. Take it with chapati. Oh, yeah. Scoop up a good chunk. Oh, it's coconut. Pure coconut flavor. I think this one my favorite. Wow, that was amazing. How are you?
