Ocean View Realtor Judy Boone Recounts Surviving a Shooting and Her Fight for Justice

New Realtor Judy Boon sits down with us for the first time to discuss her being shot in her Norfick home on New Year's Eve. Derrick Lidle brings us this story and Derek, almost seven months have passed and no one's charged in this shooting. Yeah, Madison, exactly right. You know, Boon tells me the night she was shot was filled with heavy emotions. She says police tested her family member's hands for gunpowder residue that evening. Every stone has been turned looking into this case. Every lead explored and still no answers as to why someone took a shot at her.

Johnny, I've been shot in the gut. I need to get to the ER. New Year's Eve, someone shot Judy Boone multiple times at the home she had lived at for more than three decades in Ocean View. A cross sat inches from where the bullets entered the home. Boon says faith was with her as she did not know if she was going to die. The rosary hanging down by my window, there's four bullets showing and I said, "Lord, get me out of Dodge City." and I went for it and I called 911. Boon says she held a pillow to her wounds to try and prevent bleeding while calling police. She believes the shooter was still trying to break into her home.

He was still trying to get into my room. He was chipping the glass to make it bigger to either put his hand in there to unlock it. I said, "Look, I'm not going I just Well, can't you just go out your front door? I said, no, I'm not going out there. After months of painful recovery and fear she felt in public, knowing the person who shot her was out on the streets, she is walking and trying to adapt to a new normal. Loved being on the beachwalk. There was not a problem, but it was that night and it only takes one night to take you out and um it was not the fireworks I was expecting to see on New Year's Eve.

She has made the decision to part ways with the place she called home for 34 years, moving to a more secure new residence. and I'm going to have a big estate sale. So, uh I don't know if it's going to be who shot Judy estate sale. Nearly seven months removed from the shooting and police haven't charged anyone related directly to the shooting of Judy Boon, she believes justice will come eventually one way or another. We just hope that you get the justice uh deserved and um that'll play out. And you know what? If it's not here, it's going to be there.
