Friends, welcome to this edition of The Outdoor Gear Review. It is six thirty now. It's raining outside and we're heading to the national forest for the night. That's right, friends. Let's see what wonders await us in the national forest. I hope not, but you know how it is in national forests. The weather was chaotic today. Lots of rain, lots of thunderstorms. It 's supposed to rain tonight, but nothing is guaranteed, so we'll see. I've been on the road for about 40 minutes now, and I have another 50 minutes to go. It's pouring rain right now, friends. You know what, I'll focus on driving. I'll get back to you a little later. Well, friends. We reached the national forest.

We are driving on a dirt road. Let's go find a place to stay for the night. We don't need anything special, the main thing is that the place is flat. Most likely, it will be foggy. So it doesn't matter. Friends, we are here. We are now in the back of a truck on top of this mountain. Not at the very peak, but high enough. It is And, to be honest, the truck is very cozy. The temperature here is perfect. It's about 15 degrees outside. It will be 7 degrees or lower by tomorrow morning. That's pretty cool. Because of the temperature, I brought a heater, which I'm sure we'll turn on soon. It is raining at the moment. It's flash flood warning in effect right now, I'll read it to you now.

It ends in 3 hours. There is some minor flooding in low-lying areas with poor drainage. About 5 centimeters of precipitation have already fallen. Another 2 to 5 inches of rain is expected in the area tonight. OK. It looks like we're in for a stormy evening on this mountain. Up to 5 centimeters of rain overnight. That's quite a lot. Let it rain, let it rain. For this trip, we went back into the national forest to see what would happen. I've strange things happen in national forests, real madness. First, I was hiking on the top of a mountain. It was raining. It was very foggy. A car drove up to my camp. It was a brand new Tacoma. They drove their

truck into a huge stone fire pit. This fire was simply huge. They, of course, damaged the truck. They parked right on it and stayed there all night in the pouring rain. Very, very strong. They were sleeping in the front seat of their car. I couldn't go out to see if they were okay because the rain was too heavy. This was strange case number one. Strange incident number two was that I was testing equipment. I didn't even film the adventure. I went to bed, long story short, someone on the mountain was arguing with some other group. One man pulled out a gun. He fired, the bullet flew up the mountain and hit my truck. That's right, folks.

I have a bullet hole here. And that's about half a meter from where my head was that night. So, like I said, crazy things happen in the national forest. Will something crazy happen tonight? I don't know. It is raining and foggy. You might think not, but you never know for sure, so you'll have to wait and see. It's raining outside now. I'll give myself a minute to get some things ready. I need to set the table, and I'll make the bed later. But yeah, let's set the table and the stove, because it's almost time for dinner. Oh no. Oh. This, friends, is not a table. This is a chair. I took the wrong bag. Unfortunately, I have a table that has the same storage bag.

He is from the same company. This won't work. Fortunately, this is not a problem. We do n't really need a table. It's. At the same time, the temperature is also dropping. It's nice here, which means it's pretty cool outside. It's about 75% closed. There are, of course, cracks everywhere here. There are holes everywhere here. So a lot of fresh air gets inside, which is exactly what I need. I would n't want to seal it 100%. Not only because of carbon monoxide, but also because of humidity, condensation, etc. Plus, when I turn on the heater later today, airflow and ventilation will be very, very important.

Dinner tonight, friends, is going to be fantastic. We have leftover chili and cornbread for dinner. Oh yes. You know, it's too late. We can already cook. Let's eat and then talk some more. Oh yes. We have cornbread, chili on top, and sour cream on top of it. In the chili itself, we have pickled jalapeños and cheddar cheese. Oh yes. I don't know if you're like me, but I love pickled jalapeños. They are so delicious. Very good taste. Not sharp at all . It's still raining outside. But not very much. Friends, it's getting cooler. It's almost time to turn on the heater, believe it or not. I've been waiting for this. The summer was pretty hot, and now it seems like a real cooling off is starting, and that's

really great. In a few days, the temperature should drop to 30-something degrees Fahrenheit. I am ready. I remembered something that just came to mind. In high school, my friends and I went car camping, living in our cars. If someone had transport, we spent the night in it or at least near it. I remember once a guy with a rather peculiar sense of humor went with us. Anyway, one of my friends has always been, you know, a bit of a tinkerer? He always had these crazy stories. I would say that 65 or 75 percent of the story was true. And then one evening we were all sitting together by the fire. My fictional friend tells a story about a girl, and she keeps dragging on and on. And he

gets to the point where he says: "She's a ten. " And that guy with a specific sense of humor answers: "Out of a hundred?" It was the funniest thing in the world. It was both a humiliation and a statement, not a question. It was incredibly funny. why this came up, but it's very funny. I like it. I have to admit, I had a lot of fun in high school. And it's really thanks to the friends I had. There was a whole company of us. We got into all sorts of trouble. Although there are some things I'm not even going to talk about. There was absolutely nothing interesting in our town. So we had to come up with crazy ways

to have fun. We didn't do anything truly illegal. Well, nothing bad. We did stupid and pointless things. You know what they usually do in the village. For what today one could seriously suffer. But when I was a kid, people found it funny. This is what was expected of the youth, if that makes sense. My question to you all is this. What was it like when you were growing up? Where did you grow up? In the village? In the city? Without a doubt, I was lucky to grow up where I did, with my parents and friends. So, friends, it's about half past ten now. It is raining outside. It's getting cold outside, and it's pretty chilly here too. I think it's time to turn on the heater. Let's warm up. Yes.

The heater is working. The back of the truck is incredibly cozy. The temperature outside is about 13 degrees Celsius and continues to fall. It's quite cool. At the same time, it's pouring outside. The rain is really heavy. The weather forecast says it will rain all night. One of the reasons I didn't go further to the top of the mountain, where there are great camping spots, is that we're already in the clouds. It's so foggy outside. Literally nothing is visible. Fortunately, there is a flat surface here. We will have a good view of the sky if it clears up. And if that happens, maybe we'll see lightning. That would be cool, but at this altitude I don't expect the sky to clear.

I really like this heater. This is a South Korean product from Kovea. It's called Cupid. He is wonderful. It costs less than $100 and runs on butane, which is very cheap. And it gives off a lot of heat. At the same time, it also heats at low power and will work forever. This is very impressive. If you have any questions, check out my review. This is a truly great product. I get a lot of questions about diesel heaters, but I don't plan on doing any reviews on them at all. I have some experience with them, I've tried a few brands and I don't like them. They are incredibly picky. They often do not work well at this altitude, which is over 6,000 feet (about 1,800 meters). Not to mention that diesel fuel is

very expensive right now. They're dirty, smelly, need batteries, need ventilation, can be a real headache, and I have no desire to buy one. Completely. Especially when these little heaters work so well and are so inexpensive. And you don't have to mess with them, you don't have to worry that they won't work. This heater worked for five or six winters, maybe even more. I mean, we're talking about thousands of hours of work. I use it in the back of a truck, in a cabin, sometimes in large tents. When I'm in a very large tent, I have a "Buddy" type heater, which are known for their high quality; they last forever if you take care of them

and use them properly. It seems like almost every overland canal has tried a diesel heater, and almost all eventually get rid of them. There are a few exceptions, but oh my god, the problems you saw with those people, my friends had with their devices too. I mean, those who tried rooftop tents and ultimately decided they were a bad idea for the area, right? There is a time and place for rooftop tents, but they don't work very well in wet and windy areas like this one. The humidity here is very high, so much moisture that they rot, fall apart, they simply don't last long. People buy a roof tent, a trailer, etc. They take these diesel heaters and get nothing but problems. If you have a diesel heater and it works well, be sure to write in the comments below and

share your experience. As for me, I'll just stick with these little heaters: they're inexpensive, easy to use, virtually trouble-free, and use very cheap fuel. Not dirty, not greasy, not smelly. This is exactly what I need. By the way, friends, it's pouring outside. I mean, it rained a lot before too. And now the rain has become really heavy. Friends, it's so warm and cozy here. Fact is, you're in the rain. Oh yes. I'll sleep well today. You know, by the way, it's time to go to bed. A little over 11:00. Everyone, I'm going to rest. See you early in the morning. Not too early, but early enough. Good night, Good morning. Around 6:20 in the morning. It is raining outside

. It's cold outside. But still, the truck is very good. Oh yes. Good morning, everyone. Good morning. 6:37 am. The sun should be rising by now. Friends, it rained all night. It seems that around 1:30 the heaviest downpour imaginable began. She woke me up. And from that moment on, I couldn't fall asleep again. I turned on YouTube. We'll just talk about it. I'm not sure what exactly I stumbled upon last night. I need your help. I need you to figure this out and tell me what's going on here, because I was watching a video, dozed off for a bit,

woke up, and something was still playing. So, it was like autorun. There is a channel called Point Blank Science. And I don't understand what I was watching. I'm very curious, but I don't understand anything. So, this guy has a video where he's kind of spying on different things. One of them, the one I turned on, was about a microchip factory. He has many others, but I haven't watched them. I only saw snippets of that one video. There is espionage in a big city, in a small town, in a gold mine.

Anyway, in this episode he was on a hill with a bunch of tactical gear. I mean, he's got night vision devices and all that, and he's zooming in on some factory, a chip factory that's being built. That was interesting. I'm curious. Check it out and tell me what's going on there, because I have no idea. Overall, it was a really good night. I slept wonderfully on the folding bed. It was warm and cozy. Life is beautiful. I can't believe we can turn on the heater all night and feel comfortable again. Today, friends, is officially the first day of fall. How do you like that? The weather was perfect, I'm on a trip, so I'm here too.

I am amazed at how attentive and observant the audience is. I once told my friend that he was going to start a YouTube channel. I told him that he must always remain honest. Don't pretend anything. Don't lie about anything, because the audience will find out anyway. from a man asking why I blow on food when I'm cooking on a hike or just cooking if it's hot. I blow on it to cool it down, then eat it. But why do I sip my coffee as if it's no problem at all? When it comes to coffee, I heat the water, pour it in, you know. I always add cold water because I don't like hot coffee. I don't like cold coffee. I don't like hot coffee.

I need a middle ground. I like it barely warm. This is how I like my coffee. So yeah, that's why I can just drink it and it's not a problem. Friends, the air is surprisingly cold. Wow, this is a real shock to my body. I will be frank. I'm used to the temperature, you know, around 12-15 degrees in the morning. It's not 12 degrees. It's much colder. This is the only person I saw on the road all night. That's all. Yes. This cold air is definitely a shock to my body. Autumn is coming. There is no guarantee that it will soon be cold, really cold. But you never know for sure.

They say North Carolina will be a battleground this winter because of the super El Niño. Supposedly, if you believe what they say-and that's all everyone is talking about right now-there will be endless storms here. It must be very humid, where one degree can change everything. It could be ice, rain, or snow-all within one degree. Come on. The next adventure should be dry. They say the next three or four days will be dry, very cool, if not cold. So I'm planning a hike in the highlands. This should be fun. We could do this or our first hike of the season with a tent and stove. Wood stove, large tents, cool conditions. That sounds good. We have options. I'll think about it. Friends, this is a great place to end this adventure.

I am so grateful to all of you for joining me on this journey. What a beautiful place. We are in a national forest. There was nothing strange last night. National forests, I tell you. What's your craziest experience in a national forest? Do you all remember last year? It was in the fall. I decided to do some adventures in the national forests, with tents and stuff. And almost every night something strange happened, really strange. In one camp there was a woman who climbed a hill. I don't know if she was talking on the phone or to someone else, but she was angry. And she let the whole world know about it. She screamed. She was angry. During

one trip, I stopped on a dirt road near my camp. It was getting dark, and suddenly someone started shining a flashlight at my camp from the main dirt road. So, I go there to see what the hell they're doing, and there's a guy and a girl, and they're just running down that road. And I'm like, "Hey, are you okay?" They: "Oh, yes." I mean, they were so far away that I couldn't even ask them, "What the hell are you doing here?" They just disappeared from there. It was so strange. Then, on another trip, a car pulled into my camp with its headlights on, and as soon as I got up and approached, they ran away. Just the oddities of national forests, my friends. People are so

strange, aren't they? What do you think? Is there still hope for humanity, or are we doomed? It seems to me that people are getting weirder and weirder. I don't know.
