My friends, welcome to this episode of outdoor gear reviews. I hope you are all well. In this adventure, we return to the Devil's Throat. Oh. This trail, everyone, is incredibly steep. Fortunately, it is in fairly good condition. For a moment I thought I heard footsteps there. In any case, this place has an interesting history. At the same time, there is a lot of folklore associated with this area. The winds are howling now. Mmm. This is strange. I thought I heard footsteps. I couldn't tell if they were in front of me or behind me. I only heard a wet thump. On average, I come to this place once a year, and every time I
do, I have some I heard footsteps in the forest. I felt like I was being watched and followed. Sometimes I heard screams. Just all sorts of strange things. Once I get to the top and we cook dinner, I'll tell you the stories I read. They are quite interesting. I could have sworn I heard some kind of scream. This happened twice from here somewhere. There are no trails here. Absolutely nothing. Here it is again. I have no idea what that is. This doesn't look like a lynx. It also doesn't look human. That sounds strange. I'm almost sure I hear footsteps. It's here, in the forest.
I just heard a branch break. Is it the wind? Perhaps. Although I do n't think so. Every time I came here, I heard footsteps, I heard strange things, things I can't explain. Every time I came to this area, I heard all sorts of strange things. I have been haunted many times by something that I can't quite pinpoint. As you all can see, the sun is still just around the corner. Where I started the hike is actually in the shadow of the mountain. It seemed almost dark, but it wasn't . This mountain is steep, people. This breeze is incredible. Fortunately, everyone, it's not warm today. The temperature is now around 13°C. So far during this hike up the mountain, I can't say I've felt like I was being watched or anything like that. Although
I definitely heard footsteps. And I'm sure I heard the stick break. Something is going on there. I plan to stay here until late at night. In other words, I will complete it when I feel the time is right. It's about 5:30 p.m. now. I suspect I'll finish everything around 1:00 AM. As you walk this trail, you'll probably notice a few things. First, this trail is not very often walked. You can see the leaves here. None of them are trampled. Secondly, there is absolutely no trash on this trail. The next thing you'll probably notice is that this trail is maintained by hand. I don't know who cares, but I see they used axes to cut down trees. This area is extremely remote. You won't find this trail on any map. This is
because the area is known to locals, and that's it. Speaking of locals, a few weeks ago I met someone who spent some time on this trail as a child, as an adult, and their experiences are certainly interesting. I have already walked this trail for about 3 miles. When I said she's cool, I meant it because she is. It's far enough away, but still close enough for me to hear them. Oh. I think we're almost at the top. The blue hour is near. This is just before sunset. In any case, we are almost at the top of the mountain now. This path will lead you to the Devil's Throne. And this path will obviously lead you to
the waterfall. At least that's what I was told. I'll tell you a little more about that later. First, let's go to the Devil's Throne. I had to wear this jacket, friends. I'm climbing the mountain, straight up. I'm all wet with sweat. It's pretty cold up here. And with this wind, I almost froze. You have to be careful when it comes to wind and sweat. Yes, temperature plays a role, but not as much as you might think. More people suffer from hypothermia when it is warm outside, around 15 degrees. Then they suffer when it's very, very cold.
The sun is setting now, everyone. In a few minutes we will be in complete darkness. But before it gets dark, we'll go down to the Devil's Throne. We now stand atop the Devil's Throne. It is a large outcrop, and when viewed from a distance, it looks like a throne made of stacked stones. This is very, very unusual. Hooray! The wind tonight, friends, is crazy. But as you can see, we're walking under all these rocks. And right here is the Devil's Throne. Let's go to the throne before we get blown off this mountain. The energy here, people, is amazing. I don't feel afraid or anything like that, but there's a strange energy here. It's almost like you're being watched. It's a feeling that arises, but it seems permanent. It is
constant. I thought that when we got here in the daylight, the feel of the place would be different, but it wasn't. It is absolutely the same. It doesn't matter if it's dark or light outside. It's just a strange feeling here. By the way, everyone, right over this ridge and down on the mountain, that's where I parked. There is no trailhead there, nothing like that. There is only a little space on the side of the road where you can park The temperature is now around 40 degrees. Very windy. And, it should be noted that the temperature tonight will be near freezing. I hope the wind dies down when it gets dark. I plan, if the wind dies down, to light a fire here tonight. I took a fire and a compressed log with me. The thing is, there
really is n't any firewood in this place. And that's because it's an area with strong winds. There are some trees here that are really very strong, very, very strong. They are well anchored by roots, etc. And that's it. That's how it is in the immediate vicinity. Once you branch out, go further, there is a forest there, but it is so thick, so dense. This is not where you would want to go looking for firewood. So I took a compressed log with me. Comparing the hike up to this point with other adventures I've had here, the feelings are exactly the same, but the atmosphere is different.
Every other trip I've taken has been in the rain. This is the first time I've managed to get here and it hasn't rained. If you don't know, this is a rainforest, so it almost always rains. We are very lucky to have such dry weather today. I want to say that it will rain tomorrow evening. This is one of the reasons why I wanted to come here and see what it's like here in different conditions. I wish there wasn't any wind, but it is windy. Just the way it is. We are standing on a mountainside at a relatively high altitude. I hear something. What was that? It's down there. I hear that. If the wind stops, you can hear it too.
I have no idea what that is. It doesn't look like a bird, an owl, or anything like that. I wish the wind would stop blowing for a long time so I could really hear it. This is almost enough, it gives me goosebumps. I heard strange things on this trip, friends. I didn't see anything strange, just continuous strange sounds. While I was stoking the stove, I started hearing something that sounded like rocks hitting. Because it was so windy, because the stove was running, I'm not entirely sure what exactly I heard, but I heard it three times. And the camera seems to have caught it. Cheers everyone. Hooray. Oh, yes. Warm, just the way I like it. As for the night, we are in complete
darkness now. And I have to say, everyone, I'm glad I'm here. I love exploring the unknown, don't you? I don't really believe in anything. No Bigfoot, no ghosts. I will say that there is something there. I've mentioned this before, a long time ago, when I was much younger, I used to go ghost hunting with my friends. It was peak time, what was there, maybe Ghostbusters on the Sci-Fi Channel? I never watched " Ghost Adventures" or whatever it was called. It was too fake for me. I'm sure that Ghostbusters thing was a fake too. But anyway, my friends and I would go out with, you know, digital voice recorders and stuff. And more than once we heard something truly strange. Many strange voices. What that means exactly, I have no idea.
Nevertheless, it's interesting. I'm one of those people who has to see it to believe it. That's who I am. I have to see it to believe it. I first came here, to the Devil's Throne, because I really like this area. This is really, really cool. This is very interesting. The story is very, very interesting. At the same time, something is definitely happening here. What it is, I can't explain. Yes, I can't explain it. And it makes me want to come back again and again. In a way, I am addicted to the unknown. For dinner tonight I'm having jalapeno cheddar biscuits and herbed sausage gravy. Oh, yes. It's so delicious here.
Let me tell you all about a person I met who came here once or twice. A few weeks ago I was backpacking and stopped to make some coffee. And that was the trip I was filming. I was essentially testing the equipment. So I stopped. I turned on the new stove and made coffee. And this older man came up and asked if he could just sit and talk for a bit. And I said, "Of course." It was very similar to an incident I had a long time ago on the Appalachian Trail. I met this guy, I ran into this guy in Virginia. And it was the anniversary of his wife's death. He went out there on the same day every year in memory of her. What the hell am I seeing here? Oh, there's a mouse or something. I keep seeing her running past. I
, but it was quite large. She looked like a damn rat. Anyway, this guy, he was going to the anniversary of his wife's death, just to And I want to say that it's been 5 years already. And, obviously, he was very much in love with this woman. And a guy I met on the trail recently lost his wife. And he said he didn't know what he would do in life without her, right? Imagine being married to someone for 40, 50 years, and then that person dies. You would feel confused. I know I would feel confused. So I talked to him a little bit. And he was very familiar with all the trails in the area. And it made me think that you have to be a local to know anything about this place. So I asked him. And, to my surprise, he said, "Yes." He told me he had been
here twice. Once with my grandfather when I was a child, and once at some point when I became an adult. He told me that his grandfather brought him here once, and they actually went up there, but they didn't come down here. Grandpa didn't really like the area and just wanted to keep going. His grandfather used to come here, walk the trail to the waterfall, where there were Native American artifacts. At that time there were ceramics, arrowheads and other things. Who knows if there's anything left? I don't know. I've never walked it. The truth is that I am only familiar with this area. I don't know anything about this trail. There is practically nothing about this on the Internet. The climb up here is so tiring that I never really wanted to go any further,
especially if it goes downhill like this guy says. So, I guess she's getting into the thick of it. There is a large stream and a very impressive waterfall. Maybe sometime in the future we'll go and check it out, but for now, you could say it's got me interested. He continued that at some point in his adult life he came here and a very strange incident happened to him. And he said, "Because of that, because of the atmosphere of this area, and because of what his grandfather said, he was never going to come back here again." And he told his story quite briefly and concisely, without going into unnecessary details. But he said that when you get into this
area, there's only one way to do it, right? For example, when you go out on rocks, etc. There is only one way. And so, he went out and saw someone. He saw someone standing at the far end of the rocks next to the forest. He said he didn't think much of it, even though there was nowhere to park and he had the only vehicle. In any case, he walked a little and reached the place where he saw the man. And because of the way he was walking, this man had nowhere to go. He couldn't help but notice him. The guy would have to walk past him to leave. And he said that, you know, this thought has been haunting him for the last 30 years. guy's name, that he kept thinking about the man standing by the woods, and that,
at least in his head, you know, he had n't even seen the guy's face. All he saw was almost like the silhouette of a person. And the fact that he can't remember any more details, that there was nothing else in his head, and how this person seemed to have disappeared, never really gets fixed. And so with the feeling of this place and everything else, he didn't want to go back and wasn't going to. This is really interesting. I can't say I've ever seen anything here . I've heard a lot of strange things, and that's about it, to be honest. Most of the messages I saw here were about a large black creature. What was interesting was that the creature had black eyes. This is due to the history of this area and what
I was able to uncover about the Devil's Throne. Apparently, the Cherokee believed that a witch lived here, on top of this mountain, and this witch had black eyes. This is somewhat interesting. This is indeed related to the creature that was seen here, Bigfoot, or whatever you call it. Personally, I find this quite intriguing. What about all of you? Paranormal activity is still recorded here. I have seen numerous reports where people claimed that while standing on the cliff here, it felt as if someone was pushing them over the edge. After the Cherokee Indians left the area, the folklore continued to exist. And, according to what I've managed to uncover, a witch with black eyes wanders here in the forest. And as you walk along the path, it
feels like someone is watching you. You may even get the feeling that someone is watching you. Which, again, is somewhat interesting, since I've had this experience twice. I've heard a lot of strange things. I was on the trail, I heard footsteps, they were coming very, very close to me, but when I turned around, there was nothing there. When I searched, I couldn't find it. Could it be a black bear? Absolutely. Could the scream I heard today be a cougar? It is possible. I do n't know. I have no idea. Nothing really explains the strangeness that can be felt here. And I think that's one of the things I absolutely love about this place. This is
a secret. There is definitely a mystery here, and that is why I only go back once or twice a year. I would rather it be a secret than even know the answer, so to speak. Even if I'm here, and if I can get an answer, then great. But I hope this makes sense. Folks, this is a really nice campfire. The warmth reflects off these stone walls, and it's so nice. It's below 40 degrees outside. Inside, I mean, easily 55-60. Perfectly. This is so nice. The clock officially starts ticking. This log will burn for 3 hours. As soon as it goes out, it will be time for me to go. And it should be around midnight. It's been quiet for the last hour or so
No strange sounds, nothing like that. Let me ask you all a question. I already know that there are quite a few people who believe in Bigfoot and things like that. I'm curious to know if you believe in the spirit world. Do you believe that ghosts, spirits, etc. exist? It should be noted that locals call this the devil's throne. Cherokee, if you translate it all, it's more like a throne of spirits or a throne of spirit. They didn't necessarily believe in a single devil, but rather in a spiritual force, so to speak. By the way, everyone should note that there is no right or wrong answer to what you believe. Some people believe in Bigfoot, some believe in ghosts and spirits.
Some people believe in absolutely nothing. Some people believe in UFOs, but think Bigfoot is a fool. Or they believe in aliens, but consider ghosts and spirits stupid. And so on. I try to be open to everything, you know what I mean? I'm open to everything, but I don't believe anything until I see it for myself. As for Bigfoot, I managed to find another report of his sighting. It is near this area, about 45-50 miles away, but still I think it is relatively close when it comes to Bigfoot sightings. This observation was quite interesting and it makes me remember this area with what we experienced. So, according to this observation, and I believe it happened in 2020, the person stated that they were on some kind of trail. I can't say I've
heard of any of these, and there are many that I don't know about. In any case, while walking, he began to hear footsteps. And he noticed that every time he stopped, the footsteps stopped. And then, as he began to walk, the footsteps grew louder again. This is very, very similar to what we experienced along the way. Well, this story had a continuation. The man reached the place where he had set up camp. At night, he thought he heard something patrolling around his place. He thought it was some kind of animal, something like that. He goes to bed, hears nothing, sleeps wonderfully, wakes up, and there are quite large footprints, tracks, visible on the ground around the outer perimeter of his camp.
This is quite interesting. I can't say I've ever seen a footprint that seemed abnormally large to me, like a snowman's footprint or anything like that. You really can't reliably assess footprints in mud. Not when it comes to traces and such. Of course, there are exceptions. There are exceptions to everything. I've seen comments on some of my videos where people saw a depression in the ground and they said it looked like a footprint. But for me-no. And I can gesture pretty well. I can follow tracks, recognize tracks better than most. And with that in mind, I've never encountered anything that would make me think there's a huge beast living in the forest. But, that being said, I definitely felt something in the forest that kept
pace with my pace, stopping when I stopped. I think it's a bear, a lynx, or a cougar. But who knows. This is strange. I can't understand what this is. This is loud. Very loud. But there is nothing down there except a drop of 60-90 meters. I mean, we're on this huge rocky outcrop that rises above the treetops. Whatever is making that noise is out there, people. It sounds like it's under the surface of a rock that's 60-90 meters deep. This is an incredible fall.
My friends, our adventure here at the Devil's Throne is coming to an end. What a strange journey. We did n't see anything, but we heard a lot of strange things. Later this winter, maybe, just maybe, I'll return to this area and set up camp. Instead of sleeping low, I'll camp high to see what happens. Since it's so dark, I need to turn this camera off and focus on the hike. I definitely don't want to trip and break something on this mountain. The further we go down the mountain, the worse my cell phone reception gets. So I need to be careful. Besides, there are huge spiders in this forest, and I don't want to come across them. There are some in this area, I believe they are from Asia, these Joro spiders. I actually saw one when I was
climbing up. He's so big it's scary. So if I come across one of them, there's no telling what I'll do. OK. Anyway, friends, thank you very much for joining me here at the Devil's Throne. It was truly an adventure. Write in the comments what you think was making all these strange sounds. Until next time, everyone. Take care of yourself. God bless you. Strength and honor. Now I need to walk. I hope I meet whatever was making those sounds. I'll have to go back and stay the night again. I can't even imagine what we'll go through.
